BuhBye: Jesus Christ, Read his post again.
Fulaman198: You read it, he said intensive apps. What intensive apps can't run on something with the power I mentioned. Games are by far the most intensive kind of applications
Lol u guys should chill abeg. Like BuhBye rightly said, I meant everything other than games. For me, there's just something fundamentally wrong with playing games on a device that could do so much more especially if there's an Internet connection.

Call me nuts but I get distracted after the first few mins and then I'll face other things. Mind you, I spend the better part of my day in front of my laptop but movies and games will be the last things that'll keep me there. I have a dedicated console (ps3) for that which sometimes sits there for month without use but I can't imagine not being on my laptop every other day. Probably why watching movies on my laptop takes longer than necessary as I'll always pause them to do something else.

CISCO SWITCH NAMING CONVENTION FOR THE 2960

Find below what the model number stands for

WS - WIRE SPEED

C - CATALYST

2960/2960G 2960 stands for 10/100 (100mbs/FastEthernet) speed link for host while 2960G stands for 10/100/1000 (GigabitEthernet/1000mbps) speed link for host

24 - Number of Interface/Ports for host

TT - First T refers to the type of host interface in this case UTP and second T refers to type of uplink interface (UTP as well)
if 2960-24TC-L then the C means a combo of UTP and SFP (You can use only one type of interface)
If 2960-24PC-L the P means PoE Interface/Ports for hosts

L - L is for image of the switch L-for Lan Base and S for Lan Lite Image

ComputersRe: Intel Core ¡5 & ¡7 by Oxone(m): 8:37pm On Sep 14, 2014
Fulaman198: Gaming on a laptop is actually very possible if you buy a top of the line gaming specced laptop. Just buy a docking station with display adapter ports (HDMI, VGA, SVIDEO, etc.) and a docking port that has a ton of USB ports to plug in a keyboard, mouse, controller, etc. The monitor would be plugged into the HDMI port and presto you have a gaming machine without having to buy a bulky desktop. Though it's a bit pricey.
You don't get, so long as it's not a dedicated console for gaming, a high end laptop like that would always have its distractions. I'll probably end up pushing it to see how far intensive apps can go on it but I'll never end up gaming with it. Haven't been able to no matter how high end d laptop/desktop is
ComputersRe: Intel Core ¡5 & ¡7 by Oxone(m): 7:46pm On Sep 14, 2014
Fulaman198: I have a core i7 desktop and a core i5 laptop/tablet 2 in 1. It really depends on the type of core i5 and core i7 processor you are talking about.

For example for desktop gaming processors like the core i5-4570k, it won't perform that much worse than a core i7-4770k. The human eye won't notice the difference at all. It really is irrelevant. Both are good, I'd go with a core i5 because they perform extremely well.
I still haven't been able to bring myself to game on a laptop or fone, there's usually a million & one things that distract me from that . I'll end up doing other things with the lappy. Infact watching a movie on a laptop usually takes more than d required amount of time cos I'll always pause to do one thing or the other unless it's one of those blockbusters. Just can't!

Nairaland GeneralIncessant And Reckless BaN By Antispambot by Oxone(op):
Hello Seun

I want to call your attention to the activities of the Antispambot on Nairaland.

Yesterday i created a thread with in the Technology Market section of Nairaland to advertise the few switches i have for sale and was immediately banned by the Antispambot and had my topic deleted. i decided to create the thread with another account *yeah i know i shouldn't but situations like this leaves one no choice* and got another banned again! i got a mod to lift the ban on this account and tried to update the thread today but got banned again by the antispambot for my effort and the thread deleted a second time.

Now what I'd like to know why i keep getting banned by the Antispambot for creating an advert/sales thread in the Technology market section since i wasn't spamming or violating any of Nairaland's numerous rules. Maybe one of your mods can enlighten me on whats going on here cos I'm clearly baffled & miffed.

I'd be obliged if you can look into the excesses of the Antispambot cos having a mod lift the ban does not solve my problem as the Spambot would issue another ban and delete the thread each time i update. Thanks

RomanceRe: Guys That Think All Ladies Are Whores by Oxone(m):
Anybody who believes statements like the above needs to have their heads examined.

If you don't trust your partner enough to give them the benefit of doubt, then you don't have a business being in a relationship with that person. Its not by force

If you have been cheated on in the past and you can't forgive then by all means end the relationship and move on instead of going on grudgingly and holding it like a sword over your partner & bringing it up at the slightest provocation.

Honestly, if i was the girl, I would have hung up & called the whole thing off but who am i kidding? most people would take all sorts of rubbish just to be in a relationship

It's sweeping generalizations and stereotypes like "All guys are dogs/players & all ladies are whores/gold diggers" that ensures the vicious cycle of deceit keeps going.

Creamish: Well...mine wasnt a weird question..more like an interview i didnt expect.

Bank interview...memorized all the board of directors, chairman, mission, vision..etc

I walked in to meet a panel of 5 interviewers. They looked at my CV and they took note of the column where i stated i knew some french tho it wasnt what i studied and there just happened to be a French literate amongst them.

All my interview was done in FRENCH language. The others had pleasantly surprised look on their faces as i responded to my interviewer and no one asked me anything about d chairman..etc. They were amazed.

I got the job. cheesy

Moral Lesson: Anything wey u no sabi, no add am to ur CV.

Oxone: Here's a thread worth bookmarking

Mine was a couple of months after service and that was my second interview. I was so jittery because i was desperate for the job.

The interview panel was made up of a number of my peers and there was a pretty lady in the group. Everything was going well until i was asked how much i would want as my take home pay. i gave the usual "pay me the standard rate" reply. I didn't want to commit to a particular figure because i didn't want to short change myself by mentioning a low figure as there seem more to the company than meet the eye.

The lady now asked if i would accept 15k as salary and i pointed out to her that a 15k salary was a joke in Abj in 2011 and wouldn't even meet my basic needs. she then told me that there are ladies who take home pay was 15k in Abj.

*At this point i should have politely stuck to my gun & kept my mouth shut but the next few minutes was like an out of body experience for me. my brain shut down and my mouth took over, i watched myself from afar blow my chances of getting a job with that firm with the things i said.*

I Agreed with her that some ladies taking home 15k a month but pointed out to her that ladies don't always spend their money & have other ways of getting money. The group became animated and wanted to know how. That's when i finished the job with a list that includes money from admirers, dates and all. I cringed with each word but couldn't stop myself. The look on their faces especially that of the lady's when i was done told me all i needed to know. I knew i wasn't going to be called back ever. There are just somethings you don't say. I guess that daily 5 mins of madness chose that moment to manifest in the worst possible way.

Till date, i still can't explain what happened or what took over me because I'm not usually a chauvinistic Prick. it was all so surreal
