FamilyRe: Relationships-are Females Always So Possesive by Oxone(m):
Reminds me of a girl i dated a while back. She was calling every other minute and asking same silly questions (how are you? have you eaten? what are you doing now? how's your day going? did you miss me?........angry) it almost drove me nuts. Had to call the whole thing off after 3eeks for the sake of my sanity cos it was bothering on obsession.

Haba! i have better things to do than talk to same person 10 times a day! angry

RomanceRe: Extra Marital Affairs: My Thoughts by Oxone(m): 12:26pm On Jul 21, 2014
Reminds me of the guy who put up a post about his girlfriend not making the effort to look good in the house anymore after sleeping with her.

Ofcourse most people started ranting about how he only fell in love with her pretty face didn't love "the whole of her" *this one got me laughing hard* and how he should love her regardless (BS if you ask me)

i don't subscribe to cheating but most people don't just get the fact that you continuously have to keep your partner interested in you. That's where the bulk of the work lies

lynpetra: Men are very easy to understand,it just takes a lot of patience, understanding and humbleness at the initial stage.Be like a mumu,if u must so that they can get more closer to trust you.Be real with them as pretence will only give you more problems. If you get hold of his weakness, you have finished. The highest he can do if he cant take it anymore is to dump u,but in his quiet time e go dey reason ur matter.
This right here is what most ladies don't get. Force/tantrums wont get you anywhere with anyone talk more of a man who grows up with the mindset that he should be in charge. Wise women get all they want and more without raising their voices or resorting to force while leaving the man's ego fully massaged
RomanceRe: Virgin's Forum by Oxone(m): 9:59am On Jul 21, 2014
I still don't get why people brandish their virginity like it is the answer to all the problems in marriage & life.

Virgin or not, if you've got a crappy personality, then you're better off auctioning it online (at least you'll have some money to fall back on).

Most people work more hard keeping their virginity than improving themselves. Personally i stay away from virgins because they usually have this overblown sense of worth cos of the mere fact that they are virgins. A good number have nothing else going for them except their virginity.

Dolly was a big star then but relocated to London to join her husband, although the marriage crashed, but Dolly was fortunate to get another husband as she remarried few years back to Mr Olaniyan and still resides in London.
Ok i need to understand the the statement highlighted above. Is there something wrong with her? undecided

RomanceRe: There's A Thin Line Between Love And Hate by Oxone(m): 12:00pm On Jul 18, 2014
zboyd: Is there more to this than meets the eye?
Ofcourse!

Most time love comes disguised as hate because we don't understand it or want to give in to it. Sometimes because of a Preconceived notion that its out of our reach/league (Basically we hate what we cant have)

I believe that you can only hate the people you're capable of loving because its a strong emotion that requires energy. if you're indifferent, you would not even muster the energy to hate that person

Okafor's Law states that once a Congo has been shined once (C1 ) , it can always be shined (C ∞ ) provided it was shined properly ( P) the previous times(emphasis on properly). In other words, "....a woman once knacked, can be reknacked..."

C1 x P = C∞ cheesy

mindtricks: But like seriously, such antivirus with such long time keys, you mean that if one regularly updates it there is still issue with it, that it wont still function?
Its just like hiring a Junkie you met in a back alley to change your locks.

Apart from the moral angle, it won't update properly creating a loophole and leaving your system vulnerable to harm and sometimes there are codes attached to this crack that creates a backdoor to your systems. I'd suggest you stay away from those. Update or not

FamilyRe: Is There Anything Wrong With Bein A House Husband by Oxone(m):
I hate how people Bring up religion and bible verses to support their stance in an argument and discard it when it doesn't serve their purpose. ok then, Lets look at some bible verses together

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel (I Timothy 5:8 )

For those quoting the the above verse to support your stand, here are some verses from the same bible that you should think about.

"Let the women keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but let them subject themselves, just as the Law also says. And if they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church." (1 Cor. 14:34-35)

1 Timothy 2:12 : I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.

The guys here ranting on how the bible forbids the topic above and yet have women in senior positions at work can now resign as the same bible forbids it and for the women saying same, you can also resign if you have a man under you as it is not permitted. From the above verses I guess we can now all agree that the women should be seen and not heard (Goodbye Feminism).

I wonder why some people are incapable of rational thought undecided

Here are a few questions I'd like answered

Shouldn't your family's best interest be paramount in whatever you do regardless of what society thinks in terms of right and wrong?

Don't you think your ego is but a small price to pay for the overall well being of your family?

Any man/woman who doesn't put his/her family first has no business being married in the first place
RomanceThe Dying Art Of Conversation by Oxone(op):
Conversation involve much more than simply words – cues such as voice tone and body language also convey information such as enthusiasm, sadness, emotion and truthfulness and these cues are what makes for good conversations.

Face to face conversation is becoming more of a luxury than the norm and I often wonder if 10 years from now we would be conversing at all, yet it is believed that conversation is critical to our well-being and especially important for children development.

What makes a good conversationalist has changed little over the years: “Speak clearly; speak easily but not too much, especially when others want their turn; do not interrupt; be courteous; deal seriously with serious matters and gracefully with lighter ones; never criticize people behind their backs; stick to subjects of general interest; do not go on and on about yourself; and, above all, never lose your temper.”

Sadly all that is changing in the face of technology, people don’t need to speak to one another, they can text it, tweet it, post it, e-mail it or Facebook it. Who needs vocal cords when you have technology? Emotions are now being conveyed with an array of smileys albeit poorly. The few that makes the attempt can barely keep from looking at their phones every now and then giving the impression of being more interested in their phones than the company.

Dates these days are becoming more of a formality as those critical things that require face to face conversations are discussed in the bland/emotionless world of social media denying people the pleasure of truly enjoying the emotions that comes with it. People already know almost everything about a person before they actually meet and talk for the first time.

I miss conversations, I have always enjoyed talking to people and learning their stories. When you speak to a person, face-to-face, you gain added knowledge about the story and about the people themselves; you hear the emotions involved with the story that technology hasn’t been able to capture.

Gone are the days when you’ll have to find witty ways to keep conversation going all through a date. Maybe I’m Sounding this way because not too long ago (early/mid 2000s), we had the pleasure of enjoying good conversations without the extra encumbrance of social media and I'm nostalgic.

When was the last time you had a conversation? And I mean an actual face to face conversation, one where you learned more than just the surface value of a person, one that lasted more than a few minutes, one that would be remembered easily, one that doesn't involve checking your phone every now and then, one without the luxury of re-reading every last bit or one that does not involve our various tech gadget.

Have a conversation. Do that once a week, Learn about people, Talk to people, Practice the art of conversation. Conversation is a dying art and it makes me sad.

FamilyRe: Is There Anything Wrong With Bein A House Husband by Oxone(m): 9:10am On Jul 16, 2014
Amhappy: This reminds me of a question someone ask some day. If a wife earns 750k and the husband earns 50k and they need someone to resign and mind their 2kids who should resign? For me it depends on the family. I dont suscribe to people falling from grace to grass because of ego or what people will say. My sis-inlaw is suffering such decision today. The man can baby sit for 6month while making plans to start a business and be self employed. You mustnt work for someone.
who are you? shocked

You just stole my thoughts
FamilyRe: Is There Anything Wrong With Bein A House Husband by Oxone(m):
Lets assume in a family where the wife earns say over N500k/month or more in a multinational with better job security and prospect and the Man earns say 150/200k a month as a contract staff somewhere. If for some reason along the line, one of them needs to be a stay at home parent, who should it be?

Would you consider the overall interest of the family (kids and all) or your Ego?

Radiant, Sienna and co over to you

mindtricks: @ deji and oxone, thanks.

Just wondering these antivirus keys that tell you, you have like 50years, should they be taken seriously, are they any safe, or isnt there something really wrong with them?
LOL @50 years! stay away from those as they don give the the much needed protection.

Also its almost useless installing a paid antivirus if you don't go online or update it cos regular update for protection against new virus or variant of existing ones is actually what you're paying for

BusinessRe: PHCN Estimated Billing Is Closing Down So Many Small Bussinesses by Oxone(m):
lastpage: I really feel for the Op and others in this debacle! Estimated Billing is and has always been a criminal way of fleecing people. You should count what is on the meter on monthly basis and issue bills accordingly. That "faulty meter" story is a blatant lie used to justify 'estimation' otherwise someone who ordered that meter in PHCN, needs to go to jail!

It appears that Nigerians are being railed into a new form of slavery, in their fatherland, by their own people in the 21st century.
Nigeria is not the only country in the world where electricity is being generated but we are unfortunate in the sense that the "regulators" and the "suppliers/providers" they are supposed to regulate ...and the government itself, have morphed into a single unit. Without being dramatic, we know that every humanbeing has a criminal tendency but they are only put into check by "laws and attached punishments".

Just imagine the situation we have now whereby our national assets like NEPA were privatized and sold cheaply to our previous and current leaders (using fronts), these same leaders (who are now owners) appoint Regulators who are under their bidding, to monitor their own company which they set up to fleece Nigerians?

For example, only in Nigeria can a DISCO not provide you electricity for a whole year and you are still charged and liable for #9,000 FIXED CHARGE (#750 FOR EVERY MONTH OF THAT YEAR). Now imagine in Lagos for example, if five million households have to pay 9,000 x 5,000,000?
Which implies the owner of each DISCO (The Babangidas, Abubakars, Madame Dame Jonathans , e.t.c, just go back and see the list of the owners of these DISCOS!) can rake in 45Billion Naira every year, in Lagos alone without lifting a finger! Fixed charge should/are always a percentage (say 5% ) of amount due in reasonable countries but in Nigeria, it has gradually got to around 50% (half) of the average household monthly bill!
Now, if such DISCO does decide to provide you with epileptic power, as most does, aside from the #45Billion "guaranteed income" it makes yearly, l dont know if you have noticed how the TARIFF (Unit charge of electricity) has been constantly increased from #2.50K, in the last three years or so, to #12.50K per unit, the last increase being in April this year? Thus, a five-fold increase in about three years!
Now, where in the world does "business" make such astronomical increase in revenue on the back of the populace, for something so important, so necessary and so unavoidable like electricity? Only in Nigeria, because these crooks want more and more money.

Lastpage!
That money actually goes to the regulatory body NERC (Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission). Now imagine N750/month for each house across the nation and you'll understand how much money these people put away and yet nothing works.

These are the people responsible for our problems because if they were doing their jobs of regulating the activities of the DISCOs, we would not be in this situation. those are the people who should beer the brunt of the masses frustration
EducationRe: Not So SHOCKING: Benue Public Primary Schools Shut For 8 Months by Oxone(m):
It's a great tragedy that there's a sitting Governor in benue and children who are in their most formative age are being made to seat at home for over 8 months while their future is being bandied around like this.

This is the age when they need the most attention and training and yet some idiots would come on here bantering words over whose party is the best.

No human politician or not should be this callous. Haba!

what do you think the future holds for a country that treats her children like this? your guess is as good as mine

In saner climes, this guy would not be a free man talk more of a public servant
