Hey guys please i need your help on this issue, I have a friend, i got to know through my dealings with a company where he worked as accountant. When the company folded up we will once in a while hook up and share ideas on how to revive the company. I didn't hear from him for a very long time until a former staff of the company sold an equipment of the company to a Lebanese guy without the company's consent. Somehow i got involved in the investigation of the incident. One morning i decided to put a call through to check on him, only to find out that he had been going through a lot. He's been looking after his wife whom the doctors diagnosed with a kidney failure and for a very long time had been on dialysis at the specialist hospital in Irrua, Edo state. I did my best on the phone to console him, i told him that everything was going to be alright. I didn’t really know the intensity of the issue until one morning i was at the vulcanizers shop fixing my car tires, then i saw him drive pass with two women at the back seat in his car i was almost done with my tires at the time so i hurried the guy fixing the tires to quickly finish up. I immediately drove off on top speed trying to catch up with him, he had already gone far, but with kind of speed I was on, I was somehow able to catch up with him. I over took him and asked him to pull over. He seemed very excited to see me, but with the look on his face, i could immediately feel what he was going through as he had reduced in size with all the stress he was facing. He introduced me to his wife whom until that day we had only talked about. She managed to smile and waved from the window of the car at me like everything was okay, but with a shiver through my spine i could feel and tell she was in a lot of pain. The other lady in the car was my friends mother in-law . He told me that he was on his way to the hospital for dialysis. As he was almost shedding tears, again i was somehow able to comfort him but this time i knew the exactly what he was going through. I deep my hands in my pockets and gave him some money to buy fuel for his car. And he thanked me. he later called that evening to thank me again. I will often call to check on him to know how he things where going and he’ll tell me “fine we thank God”. i will go online to research on kidney diseases maybe something will just pop up that could be of help but its always a dead end. On this particular day, i think on the 2nd of January this year, where i parked my car i heard someone call out my name when i turned back it was him on a bike so i walked towards his direction as the bike turned towards mine. We shook hands and exchanged pleasantries, then he started explaining the ordeal he had been facing. how the wife's family had even deserted them. The worst news was when he told me that the doctors said the only solution to the problem, was a kidney transplant and that it was going to cost about 30,000USD for the procedure, minus other expenses abroad. He even told me how he almost lost his wife on new year’s eve. I asked him what we were going to do about it and he said he was confused, that he had already sent an email to the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church where he worships, as regards the situation. That they have already been invited and they were traveling the next day which was on the 3rd to the redemption camp. Last night i saw his missed call on my phone so i called him this morning (7th january), to know the situation of things and he told me that he was back from the camp and that they are currently at the Irrua specialist hospital for dialysis. You see, My friend is Yoruba and his wife is Igbo but they both live in the south. They’ve been married for a couple of years now without kids but words can’t actually describe what binds this couple together. I recall Segun telling me “Sam, this sickness big pass me, I confused finish . I can’t leave her, i no fit run leave am, i made marriage vows for better or worse. Na just God face i dey look for this matter. the tin big pass me i no go lie you”. Until my friends wife's health challenge she was a dedicated nurse who worked at Hope Medical center in Auchi, Edo state, and sustained my friend who has been without a job until her health deteriorated I really want to help but i swear am confused on how to go about it. I think its not just enough to pray and have faith, but act before its too late. I intend initiating a fund raiser, but i have no idea on how to go about it. I only see such ideas in American movies, I don’t know how possible its going to be in Nigeria thats why i decided to write this long article to seek your suggestions and opinion. I have lost an uncle who was very close to me from a heart failure i could feel his frustration in continuos and helpless medications only to collapse before the inevitable, that why i want to try and help in the best way i can. Your ideas, opinions, suggestions and contributions are welcome. Below is Segun’s personal bank account number and mobile number. If you going to put a call through to him for words of encouragement and prayers, just tell him that you Sam’s friend. (He has no idea that i am doing any of this). Thanks for reading. 08030755622 Adisa Olusegun A/C 0049067450 GTB bank |

Honestly that's the only way forward. To curb domestic violence i think their need to be supportive laws to promote the rights of women in this country. Maybe you could right a letter to your representative as regards the issue and we see how far it goes. hehehe DuchessLily: |
what about Uniben and the university of Calabar |
Our legislators got a lot of work to do as regards domestic violence. |
I guess you misunderstood my question. DuchessLily: |
Whats kind of legislation do you think will curtail domestic violence, in harmony with our religious and traditional beliefs. |
These days i hear the devil comes in everything you love, very tight skirts and high heels. lol but can you scientifically explain the connection in your story? |

if high profile cases like this can go unaccounted for, i wonder what happens the cases of thousands of average men whom over the years were brutally murdered... It hurts me to know that am from a country whose law enforcement agencies are incompetent. Daminaj1: |

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI OVER THE UNLAWFUL ARREST OF ALHAJI SALAMI ABDULLAHI (ASTA) Congratulations President Muhammadu Buhari for your recent victory at the poll, the change indeed is a welcome development. Your victory is our victory against injustice, fairness, oppression and intimidation. Your Victory is the victory of voiceless, the less privileges and the proletariat. We invoked upon the supreme Being to always guide and protect you against the enemy of progress, the people that are characterised with inhumane attitude, the people that exhibit greediness, selfishness and personal interest to unleash perpetual suffering on the generality of the people. "No evil deed can go unpunished, any evil done by man will be redressed, if not now then certainly later….for the victory of evil over good can only be temporary.’’----Dele Giwa Alhaji Salami Abdullahi (ASTA) was born on the 30th June, 1951 to the family of Alhaji Abdullahi Adejoh at Olofu - Anyigba in Kogi State, a descendants of the Attah Igala traditional hierarchy. His father, Abdullahi Adejoh was the son of Ogalla Ogohi, the child of Itodo Ameh Oyiga, whose father was Akumabi Ayegba Oma'Idoko, the legendary Attah Igala of the old Igala Kingdom. Alhaji Salami couldn't afford the formal education as a result of the slim financial status of his humble background hence he became a motor mechanic and he performed excellently well that geared his graduation (freedom). In addition to his skills he tempts into Engine Oil and Transport Business through a famous transporter, Alhaji Usman Yahaya based in Ankpa. His success in the transport business lure him into Petroleum Products and Civil Engineering giant known as ASTA NIGERIA LIMITED a house hold name in Kogi State and Nigeria at large. Alhaji Salami business conglomerate has weathered the storm of economic recession that swept off his contemporaries by staying afloat with the engine of growth and sustainability of the commercial viability in Igala - Bassa nation of Kogi State. Despite the fact that Alhaji Salami didn't acquired formal education, his experience in Politics is hard to beat and second to none, in practical terms, Alhaji Salami would surpass a Professor of Political Science in politics today. With his political knowledge and experiences, Alhaji Salami had consistently worked for the successes of National Republican Convention (NRC), All People’s Party (APP) later to All Nigerian People’s Party (ANPP) and even All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State and Dekina/Bassa Local Governments in particular, and in fact, all the parties Prince Abubakar Audu had been involved since 1991 when he was elected as Executive Governor of Kogi State. Alhaji Salami Abdullahi (ASTA) has contributed tremendously to the positive political development, mobilisation and stabilisation of the progressive Igala body polity. As a commercial colossus, he buttressed and busted the entrepreneurial business to enhance growth of Dekina /Bassa Local Government, Igala land and Kogi State at large. An accomplished and ardent manager of men and materials has contributed economically to the growth and development of Igala Nation by improving the general living standard of the people through his dexterity, political maneuvering, popular support and confidence of the people and expertise in commercial democracy. Alhaji Salami's humane attitudes deserves the imprint of his name on the platform of golden appreciation and recognition. It's on record that Alhaji Salami has influenced the employment of so many people into various Non Governmental Organisations, Federal Ministries and Agency, State and Local government areas including Kogi State University, Anyigba. His own private business, (ASTA Nig. Ltd) had offered employment to not less than 500 youths across the country. His business ranging from Petroleum Products to Transport Business and Construction Company. Indeed these businesses had a greater extent helped to solve unemployment problem in the state and beyond. After the failed attempt to his life by kidnappers in his office, Alhaji Salami was arrested on the 26th October, 2013 from his abode over a baseless and unfounded allegations of terrorism that has not been able to been proven with any substantial evidence over the years and the judicial processes has been tactically and strategically on snail's pace. My prayer, I want to use this avenue to call on our humane President Muhammadu Buhari as a point of duty to call on the judiciary to enhance the judicial procedures as expected, for when justice is deferred is same as been denied. It's has becoming so glaring that Alhaji Salami arrest was politically masterminded by same people that anchored his kidnapping, we therefore call on Mr President and the General Public to come to our aid and ensure that the needful is done, we know Alhaji Salami, we trust him and we urge the judiciary to redeem their image as the last hope for the common men, though one thing is worthy of note; KARMA is always a relentless force. nickkylawve:Thats what everyone has been telling me. But you see, am a very soft guy, little things throw me of balance. I really dont want a partners health challenge to be a part of it. |
There is this girl i just met and i think i really like her. I have been nursing thoughts of settling down with her but the problem is that she is asthmatic and to be honest i am worried about the condition, i really don't know much about it but from the little i have heard, seen and read about its very scary. You know when it comes to marriage one has to be very rational and not fooled by the idea of love. I could be wrong. so guys whats your opinion? |

ViNeHaNds:not yet bro. |
kinibigdeal:how do I do it with a mac computer. |
ViNeHaNds:Brother please how can I post on Narialand? |
Adminisher:My guy your comment will deserve responds when you are able to tell me the role or moral responsibility the president owe to the entire country regardless of votes received from various regions. or does it refuse to rain on a particular people because they are bad? |
Laid2001:I starred at my computer screen for a while thinking about the best way to respond to your comment. Then thought maybe i could recall some little history we both can ponder upon. You see Ojukwu took the entire Igbo nation through an episode of death, blood shed, and dark memories- memories that will continue to linger in the aged memories of oral folk tales passed from generations to generations not to talk about first hand literature works- for what reason if you ask me, I’ll say, for freedom equity and justice, of-course you can be entitle to you own opinion of a Biafra Ideology, but we must ask what led to Nigerian military governor's sudden quest for freedom and emancipation of his people. When I used the term marginalization i didn't just derive the word after the 2015 election, its a problem the south minorities have faces since the inception of Nigeria it self, the Niger Delta is also an example until lately You seem to know so much about how Ojukwu lost an election in number details, but do you know what led to the Biafra war, what transpired during the war and why the war was lost? If you do then i’ll be surprised you have such perspective about the Igbo people(I once shared that view anyway). You see Ojukuew foray into politics was disappointing to many, who wanted him to stay above the fray. But maybe because he felt as a committed democrat, every single day under an un-elected government hurt him. You see The citizens of this country are mature enough to make their own choices, just as they have the right to make their own mistakes. Personally I feel the concept of a nation is bore out of the core principle of the unity of a people, regardless of their diversity. If the south east continues to be marginalized then i sincerely see no point for a country its not because they hate themselves as you may suggest but because one part the country (the north) continues to share a radical ideology on the right to governance. Am not from the east part but i share some sort of moral debt to their cause and struggle for recognition. Its not to much to ask, a right to recognition. What do you think? |
As far as I am concerned this guy is the most hypocritical politician we have in our polity. You think Buhari is a scam this guy is snake trying to hide its rattle. What does he mean by the Igbo nation shouldn't hate... When the blind can see clearly how much the Igbo people are being marginalized. Am not Igbo but haba make una check am na... This guys is the total opposite of what Ojukwu stood and fought for. EQUALITY! |
