This show has been on my watchlist forever...

But the time I tried it I was struggling with character faces...these German characters all looked the same to me...

But I will definitely give it another try someday
Really? The first i am hearing this.

In the exact opposite, this is one of the reasons why i am not much vested in Kdrama, because honestly, they could line up 10 Korean actors/actress, and not to sound like a bigot, i wouldn't for the life of me be able to tell them apart, but you seemed vested in Asian media alot so this shouldn't be a problem.

The only problem i had, was that it almost became too tedious and overwhelming to follow, because of all the knots and curves of the show, a good problem though, i might add.

Dark S1-S3 (2017 - 2020).

Man can do what he wills but he cannot will what he wills." - Arthur Schopenhauer.

Seeing the S1-S3 of this back to back, has to be the most exhilarating, most exciting and yet the most exhausting ride i have been on in recent time, whilst seeing a piece of television.

This does a marvelous job of incorporating pieces of theoretical physics into it's storyline viz a viz, time travel, theory of relativity, bootstrap paradox and in the most simplest terms, the continuous running gag of "The Chicken and the egg, which comes first?". it takes great creative liberties to ensure some of the exaggerated part of the plot, stayed within the confines of plausible scientific theories, and doesn't distort the story telling in any way.

Excellent first and second season, but it almost fell of the wagon in the third season, and i can't lie, they almost lost me, with so many time jumps, and so many character intersecting loops, but it pays of big, as they were able to stick a plausible landing, in the end.

The writing is of the finest, is like the show runners actually travelled in time, gained all knowledge and were able to write this masterpiece as a result!, so good. Special praise for the casting as well, each past, present and future self of the same character were so similar facially that you'd, actually think, they all share the same DNA in real life, Top tier Casting!

A compelling blend of science fiction and mystery. An easy recommend if you like mind binding concepts, time travel, phycological thrillers, but I'd suggest you see all 3 seasons back to back, and if you ever get lost, there is an official website and tonnes of materials and articles, to help you find your way....

Elle (2016).

Powerful.... Provocative.... Perverted.

A psychological thriller that blurs the lines between ràpe and consent.

Michellè is violently sexually assaulted in her own home, and instead of calling the police, she took a bath and set to do things her own way. This set the tone for an unpredictable, twisted, depraved psychosexual thriller game of cat and mouse that takes the subject matter head on, in a controversial but yet unique way that keeps one seated at the edge of the seat for the entire 2hrs plus run.

Isabelle Huppert performance as Michellè/Ellè is a stellar portrayal of sexual assault victim that is grounded in total reality, her character is not written as a "saint", but rather a multi faceted personality whose moral depravity arc is not stripped away, as she might be down for a ménage à trois, which might want to infer on the audience that she deserves no sympathy but her softer humane/ emotional side is also layered in to paint a fimer picture that perhaps, she does not deserve to be assaulted, and frankly speaking nobody does. She is already a legend in French Cinema but that Oscar best actress nod in 2017, was all more deserving only bettered by Emma Stone's La La Land Stint!.

PS: The film shows in graphic details sèxual assault of a very violent and disturbing nature, and could be a trigger if you can't stomach such picture, so please be warned.

Top shelf film!

Saint Omer (2022).

Infanticide?! An Act of Mercy or an Unforgivable atrocity?.

i am totally in my French Cinema era atm and this was among the ones, right on top of my library.

This riveting French courtroom drama centers around two women in a twisted moral quandary, setting the stage for a gripping exploration of humanity's darkest depths.

Enters Laurence Coly, totally disillusioned with life and facing a seemingly eternal cycle of uncertainties and sadness, who stands accused of murdering her 15 month old Child, an act she thinks, it's "mercy", but to the all white judicial panel, with obvious residual racial undertones, are convinced it's borders on stark insanity.

Enters Rama, a writer, observing the court case as an inspiration for her next book whilst being pregnant herself and facing similar uncertainties about life, thinking Laurence Coly might actually not be mad at all!.

For a plot based on an upsetting true life story, this was in stark contrast, cathartically beautiful to watch, no thanks to the extremely well layered acting and characters that provides multiple interpretation and dimension to the subject matter that made the whole thing so realistic and compelling to digest, and of focus, the french language is in the top 10, best language for a dialogue, so this was obviously more seasoning to an already good meal.

The film seems to ask more questions than it provides clear cut answers...but at the end...the answers becomes pretty clear...well depending on various POV anyway.

Those guys dropped another tweet claiming their source was wrong. That it's not April fool joke.

So the release date is still to be announced.
They are like the most reliable source for VOD release dates and they are hardly ever wrong. Infact, they were the first outlet to announce "The Killers of the Flower Moon" VOD release date last year and people doubted them, and it turned out to be true.

So them announcing this, when WB even has a contractual 45 day after cinematic release clause, on the 31st of March, screams April fool to me!.

Warrior Season 3 (2023) - 90%

Where should I begin? I was utterly astounded. What an extraordinary experience! For more than 5 hours, I was completely engrossed in front of my screen, devoid of any interruptions. This show epitomizes excellence, as it adeptly accomplishes nearly everything it sets out to do. Although there are a few shortcomings in terms of fight choreography and minor plot inconsistencies, they are overshadowed by the overall brilliance of the production. There are numerous aspects of the show that warrant commendation, although I am unable to delve into all of them.

However, one aspect that particularly captured my attention is the exceptional equilibrium between action and drama, executed at a professional level. At no point does one element attempt to compensate for the other. It is not a slow burner. The show has massively evolved since its first season, progressively reducing the inclusion of filler scenes. In previous seasons, fillers may have been employed to meet the desired ten-episode format, but in this instance, the show stands on business from beginning to end, with a strong focus on the narrative. I hope they keep going because I can only envision the writing improving further, raising the bar even higher.
It has been cancelled.

Halo S1 (2022) and S2 (2024).

Whichever person/persons that mentioned the above named show on here, should please go to the nearest beer parlor and order his/her fav lager with 2 big headed catfish pepper-soup plate...bills on me 😩.

After much chatter about this on here for the past few weeks, i decided to give this a go and i didn't know when i consumed all 17 episodes of both seasons inside 3 days! 😩.

This is basically Sci-fi supremacy!, extremely well done to the latter. The world building and character development is totally bonkers, so good that they basically have an open ended plot line for S3 or even beyond. Since those over zealous mother/daughter scientist duo decided to bring a zombie apocalypse with a canister that was jejely resting on it's own 😩 and the MasterChief already at the Halo, S3 can follow any of these plotline and it will still be game, set and match!👏🏿.

Btw, the energy sword, that is wielded by those Covenant Mfs might actually be the coolest Sci-fi sword, since the Lightsaber 🗡️

Top Tier show

Excuse me and every other person. Elegance and German isnt a sentence that goes together in my opinion. German that sounds like you chewing hard pebbles?

There was several videos of words in other languages and German, and German somehow makes those same words a do or die affair in pronunciation.

Language that makes sex sounds so unappealing.

lol i never inferred that German language was elegant did i?

The German language's grating and coarse nature is what excites me tbh plus i think people are generally prejudiced against it because of a certain famous (in famous) Austrian painter.

Absolutely in love with the way Ochiba no Kata talks. Wouldn't mind a 2-hour episode of her just talking.

Used to think that speech style had to do with age. Might have to read up on it.
I might also add that, the Japanese language is such a reassuring and affirmative language that any monologue or dialogue in it, seems to carry a much much more deeper meaning than it's literal translation in English.

The language exudes a profound elegance and an uncanny air of positivity that i cannot explain.

It and German, might be the language i would be willing to learn if the opportunity arises.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy - 10/10
I decided to watch the movies for nostalgia's sake. When I downloaded every one of them in 1080p and realised each of them is almost 4 hours long each, I couldn't believe I went through these movies when I was a child and didn't feel anything.
Watching it now, I can say Lord of the Rings is the reason we have Marvel movies, insane plot armors and movies in epic scales right now. Guys!! this 4 hour movies were shot together and released 3 years back to back!
The quality of storytelling and visual effects is awesome but the main reason these movies are the most epic movies of all times is the worldbuilding, score and makeup. How did this guys create those Orcs so realistically! Watching them didn't even feel like 4 hours and I can imagine how awesome it would be watching this masterpiece in theatres.
This is the kind of movie that prompts centuries of discuss and fan arts
Everyone should rewatch this movies once again and give their thoughts

"The world is changed. I feel it in the water. I feel it in the earth. I smell it in the air. Much that once was is lost, for none now live who remember it".....

Fantasy books are one of the hardest to write. Authors of these seemingly, have to create new worlds, places, continents, languages, food, religions, species, often from scratch and spin them into large volumes of books, so props to J.R.R. Tolkien for writing this, but do you know what i think is even harder than this? turning all these into a visual spectacle that is etched in one's memory for a lifetime.

Peter Jackson's LOTR series did exactly this!, A beautiful adaptation of a great book. Everything was pretty good, Good cast, good use of VFX, incredible cinematography, in fact the complete package. I copped the extended version, and you need to clock in around 12 hours and 6 minutes! straight to see all 3 in one stretch but it doesn't even feel like a chore because of how good they are. I'm due a yearly re-run soonest.

The LOTR is such an aesthetically, culturally and historically important lore, that, me thinks, if we somehow make contact with aliens in the future and we are trying to show them our very best flicks from earth, a box set of these would totally be first in line 😉.

A rare 10/10 👍🏾.

I still haven't gotten S3 of this, not necessarily because it's a bad show, but their M.O. became too monotonous to me. Did it get significantly better after S3? Was there enough twists and turn to keep things "fresh"?

What's unbelievable and incoherent about the plot?

Looks pretty simple and straight forward to me.
In what context does it look pretty simple and straightforward to you? If it's the action sequence, then we are on the same page. But if it's the plot, then it means we all have different perspectives on what a simple and straightforward plot looks like and this was anything but that.

IMDB has a whole page length of the plot holes, inconsistencies and even factual and continuity errors that riddles this flick.

The movie delivered on what it set out to do.
A fun action movie.
You had the wrong expections If you came in expecting an Oscar contender..
Not every movie needs to be.

This is a movie you sit back, enjoy the thrills and action without thinking about plot.
Judging by the ratings and box office, I'm glad many had fun with it
It was a theatrical release for Christ sake and not some low budget dumb VOD release, so i wouldn't be in the wrong, if I'm demanding it to be good at least.

I didn't go in looking for an Oscar worthy flick, but this flick had Minnie Driver, Jeremy Iron ans Jason Statham... That's almost an A-list cast!, So the least they could have done was to give them, a believable and rational plot to work with.

How many of your precious time are you gonna waste on flicks that depends solely on action with miserable plots? cuz to me personally, i have had my fill. Plus this mentality of "disregarding plot and just enjoy the action" is why subpar flicks keep flooding in each year. In film making, plot is like the bane of the whole thing, so one simply can't disregard it

Here.

Which version of MIUI 14 supports split screen?
It is like i described. That 13.0.12.0, is like the 2nd update of the device, you'll need to get 13.0.8.0, if you intend to move to MIUI 14.

As per split screen function on MIUI 14 for your device, I'm not entirely sure it has because they have been removing the function from mid range to lower end Redmi devices in recent updates and replacing it with what they call "floating window", so there's is every likelihood, the split screen function is gone from MIUI 14 for your device and if that was the major reason, you wanted to upgrade, you might want to hold off updating.

Please I'm trying to update my Redmi 10C rom manually but I'm getting the below response.

The rom was downloaded from the official website.
How do I fix it.

@Oyaskii
There are many causes of this, but the most common cause i have found out, is jumping over stable full OS release to go to an higher one, like when you are on Android 11 and you are trying to move to Android 13 and skipping the Andriod 12 update, the updater app might block it, and this will only be likely possible via a Fastboot recovery method.

I'm guessing that's the issue you are facing because for Redmi 10C, MIUI 13.0.7 update is Andriod 11, and your pending update from your screenshot is 13.0.8 which is the Andriod 12 for 10C, now if you downloaded the latest OS update for Redmi 10C it means you downloaded MIUI 14.0.5.0 which is the Andriod 13 update. So it's most likely you are trying to go to Android 13 from 11, hence the error.

So my best bet, is that, you should update to that 13.0.8.0 first, then you can move from there. If you don't trust your network, you can go back to the Rom site, and get that 13.0.8.0 file and try again.

If my analogy is wrong, let me know and also screenshot your current version and also let me know the rom version you downloaded cuz it can also be you grabbed a rom variant for a different region. Mi Global Rom always ends with MIXM affix.

"Poor Things" (2023).

Bella Baxter: "Why do people not just do this all the time?! (Referring to sex btw, or as she succinctly calls it, "Furious Jumping" 😊)."

Yorgos Lanthimos has always been known to make these weird genre bending flicks that looks subtle on the surface but carries a punchy message if you bothered to look deeply and with Poor Things, he has come full circle.

Obnoxious comedy?, Gothic comedy?, Sci fi romance? It didn't really fit into any genre box as it encompasses them all.
With every scene, looking like an art piece frame with delightful color grading straight out of the book of Wes Anderson , the masterful use of fish eye lenses catapults us into the psychedelic world of Victorian London, where a Bella Baxter, a fully grown woman goes on a journey of "self discovery" including (NSFW) how the hands can bring immense pleasure to how a tool possessed by men can bring even more pleasure than the hands 😉.

Oddly enough, it has a "tobacco depiction" warning at the very beginning but i am afraid that would be the least of your worries seeing this. It starts off innocently, but as you peel away, it becomes more graphic without any hint of plausible morality to fully drive home the narrative of the flick.

Mark Ruffalo as "Duncan Wedderburn" was a peerless performance, He gave us a hint as a recovering s3x addict in "Thanks for Sharing (2012), but it takes it up a notch here, trust me, you'd want to see, a raunchy and Hot Mark! and that oscar nom was deserving.

Emma Stone as Bella Baxter, Good Lord!, it was a bold, audacious, "full frontal" and funny mix of supreme acting!. Sandra Hüller and Lilly Gladstone delivered all timers in their respective roles but any other actress doing what Emma Stone did here, would have surely ended thier careers but she came out flawless and that Oscar nod is all too deserving imo, in hindsight.

unbelievably funny, pleasantly bizzare, witty thoughtful and a totally gorgeous watch.

"Perfect Days 2023"

"Driving through the streets of a neon dripped Tokyo skyline whilst listening to Lou Reed and The Rolling Stones on Cassette tape?... These are the Perfect Days!"

Japanese Cinema once again man!. This was an archy-type of the movies they have be making in recently. This was mundane, in a good way, not quick to action or dialogue. Just 2 hours of a man finding joy in toilet cleaning, listening to oldies on an obsolate form of media, reading books and looking up each day to the skies of Tokyo to take in a slice of the meaning of life amidst the pull of the monotonous routine that is our everyday struggle.

The film serves as a reminder that there is great admirable beauty in life amidst all the chaos and there is actually alot to be thankful for!

The win i am most happy about from last night/this morning is that of Christopher Nolan.

What an astute filmmaker! and i keep scratching my head, how this is his first "personal win" off the ridiculously good movies he makes. he puts the same dedication and hard work into all his flicks. Oppenheimer is a phenomenal motion picture, but Christopher Nolan has been due an oscar, like forever!, for interstellar at the very least!

i am glad he didn't need to bend over and make some typa "woke oscar baity" flick to get The Academy to notice him.

i sincerely can't wait for the next project/flick his genius mind fashions out!

Na now I know say this man na dunce and Shalaye Pro Max propagator. 🙄🙄😤😡
I think you are taking him out of context bro. Did you read the article? He is absolutely right but the headline could have been framed better.

What he was saying is that VOD companies like Netflix are the future of film distribution. A single movie releasing on Netflix on a casual Friday, can be pushed to "20 million people" with just a push of a button, in contrast can "Barbie" or any other Blockbuster guarantee "20 million people/views" on opening day?.

COVID lockdown messed with people's views on Cinema and except you are a true "blockbuster ", that's when you are guaranteed making any money at the Box office. "Babylon" was a very decent movie and it did woefully at the B.O, and it would have been an instant hit, had it been a Netflix or say Apple TV movie, and now Damien Chazelle fears for his career, and he is not sure if any big studio will fund his movies anymore because of the poor returns on "Babylon", i mean this man brought us "Whiplash", "La La Land" and "First Man"!, this same man fears for his career because of one bad day at the cinema.

All the more reasons why indie film makers are more easily eager to sell their films to VOD and guarantee a huge kick back rather than having a cinema run that no one will probably see. Outside of the US and maybe Europe, Indie films playing at Cinemas is not that a big deal.

Forbes just recently released the list of Top earners last year in Hollywood and Adam Sandler of all people sits pretty on that list, and he didn't have a true blockbuster out last year, he just signed a lucrative deal with Netflix, beating the likes of Tom Cruise who is a ardent cinema freak and he had a blockbuster and probably one of the most popular franchises in the history of Hollywood out last year.

Something to think about.

Has anyone noticed that, if you are looking for any vid tutorials on Redmi Devices or any general videos on Redmi Devices for that matter recently, on YouTube, it is mostly done by Indian guys who 90% of the time speak in Hindi. I thought my YouTube algorithm was broken, so i even added English to my search query and I still end up with a buttload of hindi tutorials that are practically useless to me.

Is it that, English tech creators do not particularly care for the Redmi brand enough to post vids about them on YouTube or what?
