Quality of cinema rips is likely much better than it was back in the day, but I am still scarred by how low quality cinema dubs literally destroyed great movies for me and the boys back then.

NOTHING will make me watch a cinema dub again. It is actually a double whammy. Waste of time and data for a sub par viewing experience.

The 2000s when the era of 26 in 1 DvD was a thing..I would always be so surprised how movie, released the weekend prior on cinemas, and on Monday, it is already out on DvD, that was my earliest foray into how cinema dubs work.

I saw "Thor" The Dark World" (2013) cinema dub and everything was pitch black, could barely see a thing, silly me thought, they were keeping up with the tag of the film 😩..The audio was a mess too. I saw a clean HD version years later, and is still is one of my favourite MCU movies ever, and i constantly go back to it. So i know firsthand how a cinema dub can ruin a movie experience.

So these days, if i can't access a cinema for some reason, i usually just wait it out for the home media to drop. But filmmakers like Christopher Nolan are stubborn cinema autuer, and the home media for their releases, could take months. for comparison, Oppie (2023) released in july of that year, and the home media, didn't come out till late November 2023!. That's why that leak on Saturday was a big deal.

It was a professional cinema dub tbh, the video was clean, it was like 720p, which is standard HD, the audio was clean as well, not choppy like a normal cinema dub should be. Either it was an inside job or of course there are capable AI now for Upscaling and audio cleaning...light work for Claude Fable 5.

lol of course, Universal immediately called in a copyright strike, and X nuked the page and the tweet out of existence, but by that time, the file had reached it's intended audience 👀🙃

Again, for a botlegg copy, it was pretty decent quality that's why it piqued my interest, warranting a Variety post even.

In 2026 still, because of various factors, chief among them being the high cost of data in this godforsaken hell hole, 480p is premium quality to most people from these parts 😩

Now that I'm adult, I'm getting pissed at this idea of stealing data or information you are meant to protect and saying you want the release it to the public. The reason: "The people need to know" . With how people are with the attention span of a new born child, I doubt anything will resonate, Epstein files dropped , we saw celebrities on cannibalistic diet and yet nobody went to prison. No protest, no riot, nothing . Everybody went about their day like it was a tiktok trend.

Watching Disclosure Day and the guy that played Daniel Kellner is just a 'meh' actor to me in this movie. Never liked Colman Domingo as an actor. The actress that played Daniel girlfriend, her type-casting now is getting her body jumped into just like it was in Behind Her Eyes.

I'm sure Spielberg's name brought lots of people to the theater, but I know after almost two and the half hours lots are going to be pissed coming out. Are you telling me that there was no way to cut this movie to be 1hr 30 or 45mins? So many 'unnecessarys'.

The hype this movie got before release was unprecedented, probably because it's Spielberg, but after release, it quietly went back to oblivion. Saw it out on VOD this week, and not a peep, and came out quickly too, and that's never a good sign.

Mann, me last year would have still bothered to see it, but i have such a short leash for medicority these days.

I don't know why Demon Slayer has never sat with me. Never liked it, I saw the movie that was released recently, but I haven't felt any connection to the series, I have tried twice to start it, it didn't take. I have given up on it.

Really? Maybe because the stakes aren't that high compared to other more intense anime. The slow build up till a final big fight at the end of each season might also be a reason and it's extra goofy too but it is my comfort anime tbf.

The stakes are different depending on your current feel...JJK is more layered and less emotionally rewarding than Demon Slayer... I don't know how best to put it than if you want something straightforward, less mechanical, and worth the emotional investment.... Demon Slayer is the way to go 👍🏿

The original complete one and not the remake...

It's an old show but the most political show I've ever watched and genuinely one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Title: Legend of the Galactic Heroes (1988-1997)

Premise:
In the distant future, humanity is locked in an endless interstellar war between two massive superpowers. The story focuses on the rivalry of two characters across the galaxy with completely different ideals as they rise to power.


Watch order:
1. My Conquest is the Sea of Stars (1988 Movie): A prequel that introduces the two main leads just before the main series starts.

2. Overture to a New War (1993 Movie): An expanded, visually superior retelling of the first two episodes of the main OVA.

3. Main OVA Series (Episodes 3-110, 1988-1997): The core epic. Start at episode 3 if you watched Overture.

4. (Optional) - Gaiden Series (1998-2000): Prequel episodes exploring the earlier days of Reinhard and Yang. Watch these after the main story to fully appreciate the world

The allure of the Avengers movie was always the proper build up of films, years prior, this one's build up has been quite disjointed to say the least. We are going to be doing a lot of assumptions as it stands.

They are throwing every gimmick in the book at this to make this look tough, but something ain't clicking...

I know this will be an unpopular opinion but Hitler was right about the Jews. As he said in his many now translated speeches, these Jews who aren't Germans sought to take over German from within by taken up key positions of power, turning Germany into depravity. They introduced transgenderism in the then Germany amongst other things.

There is a reason Jews have been expelled from over 100places that they have been in as is there character to try and take over authority and perverse life.

Also, the saying "History is written by those in power " lots of lies have been told about the 'concentration camps' and the number of deaths and how they died have been greatly exaggerated.

As for the Nigerian politician, he is the only beacon of hope in a failed system or nation that we call our own or can't be brided or corrupt. Do you know how insane to rule a state for 8years and they cant find one corruption case against you?

I know the system won't allow him to win, but if he does, will he do worse than what we as the populace are already suffering?

I have all but read up everything about Hitler's beef with the Jews, am this close to reading Mein Kampf, but am thinking it's a bridge too far, and this your opinion might not so be unpopular but I don think genocide was the answer.

But then again, the jews state have been holding that guilt trip over the whole world since then, they are but commiting the same genocide now, and the whole world is unlooking.

As for the Nigerian politician, you guessed right. I personally like his ideology and what he represents but i think their is a huge gap, in what his core base of supporters think he represents. The "hero" or "Saviour" burden on him is too much, there is no way he can keep up, they have basically left him no room for failure, and they actually think he is infallible, which might not be such a good thing.

But i get it sha, if you have been stewing in bad governance for years, somebody like him aspiring to be president, would seem like a very good dream come true...but then again, i personally don't think this country can be saved, it is far too rotten, it would take years and a monumental shift, which he can not pull off, but is always good to start somewhere.

Never Fully Trust a Charismatic Leader/Hero

Eren Yeager is one of the greatest warnings fiction has ever given us about charismatic leadership.

The frightening thing about Eren isn't even that he became a genocidal maniac. It's that we understood every step that led him there.

We watched his mother die. We watched him fight for freedom, lose friends, uncover lies, and discover that the world wanted his people erased. We shared his anger, his grief, and his desperation. Then, almost by providence, he acquired the power of a god, the power to change everything. At that point, many people were no longer following his ideas, they were following him.

That's how charismatic leaders are born.

They don't ask for blind loyalty on day one. They earn your trust through pain, sacrifice, conviction, and the promise of a better future. They make impossible decisions look necessary. They convince people there is no other way.

The Jaegerists didn't just believe Eren was right. They believed questioning him was wrong. His certainty became their certainty. His vision became their morality.

And that's where the danger lies.

When a leader becomes larger than the principles they claim to defend, followers stop asking, "Is this right?" They begin asking, "Is this what the leader wants?"

Eren genuinely wanted freedom. He wanted to protect Paradis. He loved his friends. Those things were real. But sincere motives do not guarantee righteous actions. Some of history's greatest tragedies have been driven by people who believed they were saving their own.

Adolf Hitler is a real life example. He successfully convinced the whole of Germany that the Jews were holding them back, and genocide was the only solution. It's a stretch to compare Eren directly to Hitler because their worlds, motives, and circumstances are fundamentally different. But they do share one disturbing pattern, the ability of a charismatic figure to convince followers that unimaginable violence is not only acceptable, but necessary.

This show asks a deeply uncomfortable question. How much are we willing to excuse when the person committing the act is someone we admire? We see Armin wrestle with it. We see Mikasa wrestle with it even more.

That is why Eren is such a powerful character. He is both victim and perpetrator, liberator and destroyer, hero and villain. Depending on where you stand, every one of those labels fits.

Perhaps that's the real lesson.

Never trust a charismatic leader simply because they speak with conviction. Never mistake certainty for wisdom, or sacrifice for moral authority. And never surrender your own judgment because someone else promises salvation.

There is a certain Nigerian politician who is on this path currently...cult like and headless mob following that doesn't bold well.

Then again... I can never truly understand the burden of being a saviour especially one who has seen the future and knows how it ends. The series also shows that dialogue alone didn't resolve the hatred between Marley and the Eldians. That doesn't justify Eren's choices, but it does make them harder to dismiss as simple evil.

I don't even want to be a saviour 😩. Too much pressure.

Attack on Titan S4 (2013 - 2023)

"I still think about how the human brain can create this level of fiction."

I saw the above line in a tweet one time, and it stuck with me. It made me commit to a second watch and truly grasp the scale of this all timer. You'd be surprised how much a second watch can change your perspective. Not being burdened with weekly episode drops, you begin to notice things you missed before. Your attention isn't stretched, so you're much better prepared to deconstruct it.

This is probably one of the hardest reviews I've had to write because... where do I even begin? 😩 It is so multilayered with intent. It's the kind of show where your perspective probably changes with each rewatch.

We used to chide Baddestguyp whenever he talked about it all the time, and it became his whole persona on here. But I totally get it now, because how genuinely can you watch this monster of a show and not want to talk about it at every slightest chance?

Eren Yeager is one of the most fascinating protagonists I've ever watched... and protagonist? Am I even sure he is that? He begins as a boy chasing freedom and ends as someone willing to take freedom from almost everyone else to achieve it. Hero. Villain. Victim. Monster. Personally, before the final two specials, he was simply a genocidal maniac in my view.

That's why this show is special. There are no easy answers. You decide. It perfectly captures what Eren told his friends: "I will not take away your freedom. If you think I'm wrong... come fight me."

The final stretch is emotionally relentless. Hange's sacrifice. Levi finally fulfilling his promise to Erwin. Armin proving that hope isn't weakness. Mikasa making the hardest decision of all. None of it felt cheap. It was a fitting payoff for four seasons of masterful storytelling.

I also appreciate how it doesn't pretend violence can solve violence. Even after everything, the cycle continues. New generations inherit old conflicts. The Titans disappear, but humanity remains... human.

Perhaps my only criticism, if I can even call it that, is just how ultra-dense the finale was. Paths, memories, Ymir, destiny, freedom... it's incredibly dense, and I can see why so many people finished it confused. This is definitely a series that rewards a second watch.

I don't know if I can commit to a third watch. This one took a heavy toll. But it's the kind of show where your perspective shifts with every rewatch.

I can't pretend to be well-versed in anime lore, but I genuinely believe this transcends anime!. This is one of the best shows ever made, across genres and across mediums. It's just so, so far up there, and I don't say that lightly.

I finished it last night, and I still feel this strange void. I keep going back to that tweet

An all timer of all timers. ✨

I really really anticipated something grande with this, cos Apple TV is now like the new HBO , more hits , few misses. This one I'm afraid will count towards the miss for me, while I will still give it one more episode, the first two episodes release were seriously underwhelming.

I had to leave AOT S4 last 2 episodes rewatch omoo, got too intense for me to process at the moment, i first use this one step down...it is still good but whilst AOT is crack cocaine!, this is like Ok lollipop in comparison 👀😩
