Be back with rating

Boring. Abandoned halfway.

Crap.
It looked like the archy type fan service flick, it had no chance of been good. Eddie Murphy in a 2024 flick that is a reboot? It stood zero chance. I love my man Eddie, but I think he should shift roles if he wants to stay relevant, reinvent himself, just like what Nicholas Cage did. I am glad he got to flex Netflix's money in all this sha.

I just wanna give a shout-out to the writers this season for always including a sarcastic bomb with no comeback since episode one and this week didn't disappoint because tell me why Baela burnt Ser Alfred like that? 🤣😭.

by the by, bro this episode was supreme fantasy tv at its very finest, so so top tier, The end totally reminded me of how i felt when i saw dem OG GOT episodes back. then, like "Hardhome", "The Rains of Castamere" and The winds of winter". These were all the highest rated episode of the GOT universe on IMDB at 9.9, it is no surprise that this HOTD episode ties behind them in second at 9.7!.

HBO man, they just know how to make Tv serial, other networks can't simply compete. Amazon prime thought they cooked something special with that nonsense ROP, abeg they should start taking Fantasy TV handouts from HBO abeg 🙏🏿

Best movies of 2024 so far
1. Dune Part Two
2. Challengers
3. Anyone But You
4. The Fall Guy
5. Furiosa
6. Babes
7. Civil War
8. Abigail
9. Bad Boys: Ride or Die
10. Kingdom of the planet of the apes
Terrible year for movies then because like 5 movies on this list are so bottom tier.

And Civil war? Except you are a Trump MAGA enthusiast, the movie was so relatively mid. They had a story, but they found the most boring way to tell it. The worst A24 flick i have seen in awhile.

Oyaskii,

Could you please drop 10 top-tier Rom-Coms that I will not regret watching.

Hollywood preferably, I don’t do Korea.

Thanks.

Man, You said Top 10 but i decided to do you more better, simply because The Rom Com genre is such a peculiar genre, that can encompass other sub genre within it, that it will be difficult to just narrow it to just 10. I have seen a sci-fi rom com, i have seen a comic rom com, i have seen a time travelling rom com, heck I have even seen Keanu Reeves during this his current long hair John Wick persona, drop all the bravado and gun, and loved up...

So i have curated this list to have a little of all the goodness the genre has to offer, threw in "When Harry met Sally" (1989) for good measure because it is the progenitor of modern rom com. and i know you also said "Hollywood", but i threw in some British rom com too cuz they were simply too good to ignore....

Enjoy...

Rye Lane (2023)
Enough Said (2013)
When Harry Met Sally (1989)
Plus one (2019)
I want You Back (2022)
500 days of Summer (2009)
Long shot (2019)
Man Up (2015)
Crazy Stupid Love (2011)
What If (2013)
About Time (2013)
Someone Great (2019)
Destination Wedding (2018)
Crazy Rich Asians (2018)

Apart from Butcher I'm also just seeing it cos I like A-train's redemption arc
Yup. I like what they are doing with his story and I would like it to come a good full circle. He's the only member of the 7 currently that deserves any kind of sane ending.
TV/Movies / Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by oyaskii(m): 9:24pm On Jul 05
lmaoo...The scene totally took me out.
By the way, This season is totally looking like a filler season, with little plot progression, i mean the plot that matters. It is suffering from a classic 3rd season syndrome some shows go through, where a show has a good first 2 seasons, then they try to experiment with the third, instead of just getting out while the ovation is loudest with a banger final season, oddly enough it is happening at S4 with this, clearly meaning this show has sadly over stayed it's welcome and it's basically one season too many already.

I mean the writers room for this season must be so jolly, it's like the show runners told dem writers to hit them with their most perverted ideas, and the best ones stuck. I know the show thrives on this oddity and shock value, but it has worn off since, for me at least, predictably, outside these weird and perverted high moments, it starts to look like a very ordinary show, like you could actually skip all the scenes in this episode and just see the last 5 minutes or so and you'd be alright.

Only Butcher's arc seems to be getting any meaningful progression, he is the only person actually serious with the ultimate business of the show, which is to dead Homelander, at this point. The other goons are just going on meaningless side gigs that basically adds nothing. Butcher's 5 minutes screen time this week, it's like the most important since this S4 even began. I'm just seeing out the rest of the season now, because i am too vested to drop it, but i ain't really expecting much.

Anyone But You..... 8/10

Funny how I'll pick one of the best movies I've watched from the year so far be a rom-com. But this is probably the best rom-com I've ever watched, if my memory serves me right.

Very fun and enjoyable watch. Solid acting and good writing. Top tier musical score from this film and that's how they sold me. A proper rom-com with proper love songs to boot. The original songs sealed the premium quality of the film. I already grabbed two Great songs off this film. Great Cinematography as well.

Glen Powell just embodies the persona of versatility. Just love this guy. Sydney Sweeney, what can I say? This two teams up to give us a very top tier erotic performance of the decade. Electrically charged, you just can't hate them both as a couple.
Just shows how much chemistry they both have.

Powell's time has come and I don't think Hollywood can't stop having enough of him. Dude is so good. He's shown he's overqualified as a leading man.

James Gunn, you know what to do. This guy has got to be in the DCU!! I'd easily cast him as our BOOSTER GOLD. He can pull off almost any character, can prolly work as Barry Allen or Hal Jordan.
lmao...My bro, it seems you don't see a lot of Rom Coms do you? because i could literally name like 100 off the top of my head, better than this.

The writing was average issh as the storyline has been done over and over again in the Rom Com lore, it's like one of the favourite storyline and i have even seen a better retelling of this story line.

The solid acting is with a huge asterisk as it was only the Glen Powell fella that did well, as for Sydney Sweeney, the babe can't act to save her life, and it's just her perceived sèx appeal that she has going for her, and infact, it's because of that latter, the movie shot up to the very top of pop culture popularity when it came out, because pre puberty boys with teenage fetishes couldn't just stop drooling over the chance to see her in a romantic/erotic role.

You are spot on about the song choices, absolutely top tier...."Anyone but you" by Still Woozy is a total banger

The average ratings of the movie says it all tbh.

INTERSTELLAR 10/10

After years and years of waiting to see an authentic copy of this masterpiece from christopher nolan, i finally got my wish. It was a long ride. From the earth scene to the risky space voyage. I've never seen a blackhole talkless of a wormhole before. The visuals were near perfect. I love the fusion of emotion and logic in the story. Time was a major talking point in the film. While the astronauts were aging slowly, the people on earth were aging faster than their loved ones in spaces. The four dimension tesseract was kind of complex going forward and will take alot of reading to fully understand. It begs the question.

It is such a well made film and Christopher Nolan literally created magic with it. Like basically all the science checked out, and he used as less CGI as possible, and he created the "Interstellar travel" basically from terabytes of practical footage, for a truly immersive visual experience. I know some of the sections of the movie looked a bit confusing and difficult to assimilate in one go, but there is a Book by American theoretical physicist Kip Thorne together with Christopher Nolan called "The Science of Interstellar" that really explained all the Wormholes and Black holes jargons that went on the film, you can also check YouTube, as several pages has dissected the film from start to finish. Christopher Nolan is one of the best filmmakers of this direction, and it was totally criminal that "Oppie" was his first Oscar win.

Will humanity ever find a new habitable planet? Or we just the only ones in this vast universe
This is a matter when and not if, because there is definitely life out there, but because of how vast the universe is, we currently do not have the tools to even begin to explore other star systems within our galaxy, which is the Milky Way, to put things in perspective, our best probe currently, will take about 70k years to reach the nearest star system to ours, meaning before the probe goes and come back, all who sent it out, would have long died 😩, and that's just still within our Milky Way which is just a tiny speck or dust, in the vast universe, even if there was life outside our galaxy, our signals can't reach them, as all our radio waves can't pass through the interstellar space to them, so if they are out there, they don't even know we exist, because of how immensely and immeasurably vast the universe is!

Check the video below for just a glimpse of how gigantic the universe truly is

Succession S1-4
The best series I've ever binged

I've had this series for a long while but I'vent even opened it too even see what It's because the premise didnt really entice me- a series about a rich dysfunctional family 🤷🏽‍♂️ I prefer dragons, death and blood. But right from the first episode of this series- you can never understand the direction of this show! The best directed series I've ever watched for a number of reasons

1. succession’s outrageous ambition

It seamlessly blends explosive comedy with dismal tragedy, often in the same scene, and delivers sharp observations, wit, irreverence and awe, in equal measure. And then there’s formal daring – for example, Season Four’s timeline is just ten days, that is, a day(ish) per episode!

At the heart of the work is the study of ambition itself: At a systemic level it continues to prosecute capitalism’s deep contradictions; at the personal level it vivisects the narcissistic, avaricious, self-actualising destructive, bitter, deluded, driven and wicked selves breathing such fetid air; and at the centre is the death-like grasp of the rugged individualist patriarch’s vaulting ambition, o’erleaping itself, and all who stand before it.

2. succession is like nothing else

Part satire, part pastoral, part comical-historical-tragical, it is akin to Dallas or Dynasty (less the big hair and bigger shoulder pads – indeed here the comedy masquerades as tragedy) but Succession zeroes in on not only wealth and excess but trauma, sorrow and media-business via grotesquerie and fine naturalism.

It looks like a fly-on-the-wall doco – with its use of hand-held cameras and whip zoom – yet is stunningly curated and designed. It is a lux travelogue to estates, extravagant yachts and mountain retreats, but is often claustrophobically domestic.

It’s also a business primer, reckless, roiling therapy, living thought experiment and morality play. Mash-ups can sometimes just be mash, yet here the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

3. the affect

How often do you shout at the TV? Watching this show it becomes inevitable, except when it also freezes your hands in dread halfway between shielding your eyes, blocking your ears or clutching at your stomach.

You’ll also cry, cry with laughter, in misery, in fear. It’s a car crash – in one instance, literally. You shouldn’t look, but you do – and you will feel something.

4. a moral compendium

Evagrius Ponitcus, a 4th-century monk, compiled what Pope Gregory later described as the Seven Deadly Sins. Evagrius was worried that just listing temptation and sin might harm his readers. He knew though that it was crucial work, with each of us needing to know our strengths and weaknesses.

Watching the wilful concatenation of vainglory, greed and lust, acedia (despondency) and tristitia(sorrow), that is Succession, it really does pack an ethical punch.

5. succession is its own thesaurus

It is tempting just to assemble quotation after quotation of rebarbative, wounding, up-to-the-minute and hilarious lines and neologisms from the show. And bilious, ingenious, dyspeptic many of them are.

People even pay just to have Brian Cox – who played Logan Roy, the patriarch – swear at them.

There is so much more to the show however than one-liners.

6. characters, actors, performances

Merely just listing the character names is enough to elicit a shake of the head, knowing that they are so appalling generous, and evil. Trapped in their wicked closed loops, it’s head-spinning cognitive dissonance.

What is not in dispute is how strong each actor is, especially so in this final season where even the smaller parts are stepping up and hitting it out of the park.

7. how the 0.1% live

Rich people, literally Les Rois, the Kings. Is it a celebration or a repudiation? Either way, they live in our world, but most are not of (or care for) this world.

NB: it's also one of the funniest shows I've ever watched which is strange
An A+++++ show
S4 cemented it's goat status. The writing was so bold, and i thought the stunt they pulled at episode 3 would tank the show, but it waxed stronger.

Solid 4 seasons run, no more no less, didn't try to over stay it's welcome or unnecessarily drag on. Stellar acting from an impeccable cast, high quality production value and landed
one of the most philosophical and realest ending to a show in years, as it didn't try to pander to any fairytale ending.

That scene towards the end between Shiv, Roman and Kendall, encapsulates the reason why it's official tag is "satire-dark comedy" it was so funny and dark at the same time. 😩🤣

Premium Tv and literally one of my best shows ever ✨

thanks for this chief.

i have numerous adblockers, ad bypassers, coundown bypassers set up in my main browser firefox. in the past it was a matter of either copying a link and jdownloader decoding it, or clicking through like three times. they have now made it much more difficult. You MUST lick through the ads. i have however found a peculiar solution

there is a site b t 4 g which is a torrent search engine. they mirror most psa torrents.

so i got to psa. copy the name of the torrent, put it in the engine and 95% of the time, it has the torrent already mirrored. so i click through that and i get my link via torrent download

i also use rapid gator and often psa links are uploaded to my goto warez site s o f t a r c h i v e.

if there is no other choice i open the link in a naked browser [no addons , no protection] and click through the links and popups till i get to he download

for reasons i am not ready to do telegram,
Chief, There is nothing I hate more than pop up ads, especially the really intrusive ones.

And there is nothing i detest more than downloading view torrent, because of the whole seeding shindig.

So Telegram, literally changed my media curating trajectory, as i can literally do anything from within the app. I know i risk my data been mined by them Russians, but it might be worth the risk, and i try to mask by using a burner IP from time to time.

Seems you do all your downloading on PC? Makes more sense that you would favor torrent, but your installed drive must be huge. My primary storage is a small SSD so i do most of my media download on mobile, so that's why i favor Telegram, and the Telegram desktop app is so thrash.

For some reason, I can't get Jdownloader to work effectively, or maybe i am installing fake copies of the app? Please do you have the direct repository from GitHub?

As for the Mega and gdrive bot, they are managed by the same page and it is called Botx, so just search for Botx support, and click any of the bot as you like. They even have a Torrent bot that convert torrent magnet link or torrent file to gdrive links.

Hello fellow PSA enjoyer

Do you have any tricks for running through their unskippable ads?
Big chief, to be honest i haven't actively downloaded directly from the site in years.

There are some groups of exclusive bots and pages on telegram, created by some indian guys, they unrar the PSA files, from 720p up to 4K as the case maybe, and paste them on these bots and pages, almost immediately as PSA uploads it on their site, from there i send to a gdrive bot, onedrive bot or a Mega bot for direct download links, or sometimes i just download straight from Telegram if i am on mobile and the servers are okay.

But PSA recently tweaked their ad services to be less intrusive, so have you used it recently?

Plus, when i was actively using the site, there were some ad shorteners and skipper extensions I used to use on chrome that worked for me. Maybe try those.

Or better still, just carefully search telegram, there are some open pages that do upload PSA files.

I've been using Recuva and it's at 62% scanned now with 5 hours to go...

My issue however is that I'm yet to find a new storage...
None of my guys have any free hard drive right now...

So nowhere to recover the files into...unless I recover them back into the same drive...

Someone said he could get a drive tomorrow evening but that will mean restarting the whole process and he isn't even sure what free space will be there...

I wanted to buy another drive but I'm seeing 1 terrabyte for 70-85k... Which makes no sense for something I wanna use once...

I'd rather spend that money redownloading most of the videos I need. I have over 200gb of movies/anime on my PC...
And I'm trying to collect another 80+gb I sent to someone some days back
I still feel the drive is still okay, it is just a file system error when the person you gave connected it to a phone.

Yeah the price of a new drive is off the roof, a wrong time to be buying one now.

So since you can get some of your files back from peeps you sent it to, that is a small respite.

But resist the urge to format the faulty drive, as you look for solutions to it and most importantly, never trust anyone with the drive you have most of your files in, if it's that important, the person should get a flash drive, so you can send whatever file the person wants.

Once again, sorry for the nasty experience.

So Jason one is the cause of all this...

For some reason, I have this feeling Daniella didn't end up with her own Jason .. I couldn't find the ring in his finger..
Jason one didn't technically cause the whole chaos, He had the chance to build the box and become a world renowned physicist, he walked away from it all, to build a life with Daniella albeit a modest life, with the love of a family. However Jason 2, decided not to build a life with Daniella, instead built the box, became a world renowned physicist but without the love of a family, then he saw how empty his life became despite the fame, became Jealous of Jason One's life, used the box to transverse the multiverse to find Jason one, remove him from the picture, and have a life with Daniella, thus wanting to eat his cake and have it.

So Jason 2 caused the whole chaos.

Well...i wouldn't want to spoil the ending, it's just one episode left, you will find out by this week 🙃

Okay Dark Matter matter, why/how did Jason One's entering the box create several versions of himself and Jason Two has been using the box for close to a year without creating any version of himself?
Speaking as one who has read the book...

1) Jason2 intentions are clear and focused. He has just one specific goal in mind which is to take over the real Jason's life. This clarity and focus in his intentions prevents him from creating multiple versions of himself.

2) Jason2 mental state is more stable and directed. He is methodical, and very calculated which allows him to use the box without the chaos Jason one experienced.

3) Jason 2 had almost a year to master the box. He understands how it operates and has learned to navigate the multiverse with precision.

Netflix are in the streaming business. They need new contents to service the needs of their ever growing subscribers.
They don't need every movie to be a thought provoking exercise.
Btw they also have those in their library.

Anyway it's good to see Jessica Alba again.
She fine as hell
A movie doesn't need to be thought provoking to be good, and currently Netflix are releasing neither.

The really good movies in their library, are from outside production and they are from yester years ago that they recently just acquired rights to.

I can't even name 5 really good Netflix original movies from this year alone, and app is becoming more redundant personally to me.

And Jessica Alba in a 2024 flick seems like a fan service gimmick to me, because she has been out of the movie game for so long, that i even thought she retired, and puting her in a low quality flick contextually, seems counter productive.

But it's totally okay if these kind of movies appeal to you.
