The Office S1 and S2 (2005, 2006)

Sitcom Gold.โœจ

i have had, so many false starts with this despite the heavy praise it gets, I have never been able to even get past Episode 2 of S1 more so, because of the mockumentary style used, but then again P&R had similar style and that turned out to be great, and it's in my all time fave sitcoms list ever, So i braved it up to give this another go.

I must say, i was totally surprised how affectionately warm and good this was, so much so that i didn't even know when i breezed past S1 and S2 in a "busy" 48hrs span ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. The jokes are loud but yet "subtle", they found a sweet spot between satirical slapstick and deadpan. I might just chow through the whole thing soonest.

I'm afraid, i might have an all timer show on my hands ๐ŸŒŸ

Next they will say remake Harry potter with Snape as a sensitive and goofy character

Currently, as funny as it sounds, This wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibilities considering how wide the "woke spectrum" is right now .๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Now, we finally understand why the creators left. Audience reactions will determine if I'll bother to see this.
Come to even think of it, wasn't it when Sokka and Katara were going off on one of these said "sexist rant" that they accidentally discovered Aang in the glacier? Isn't this bit like the bane of the show? So this important arc they are trying to fiddle with?

Well i should not be to hasty to judge, but i will solely be relying on reviews before i go near this. I have neither the time, money or patience to waste on gutter quality project this year.

It's Hollywood. Showing sexism is not okay for them in these woke times else they might offend some weirdo activists...

Lmao
That's why the industry is so cooked. The ratio of garbage project to Quality ones favor the latter. Showrunners and Filmmakers have to be careful with their content, so as not to offend the gazillion weirdo activist circles with thier silly agendas and fetishes. Pandering to these lot would be mean there is little room left for clear thinking and quality. It's sickening.

The original creators of the OG Avatar show, left this Netflix's adaption because of "creative differences"....says alot.

TV/Movies / Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by oyaskii(m): 7:49am On Jan 30
The said "sexism" was infact very important or probably the most important element that made Sokka's character arc and development one of the best in the entire thing. From belittling his sister, to meeting the Kyoshi warriors and ultimately finding out his sister who he had little regard for, was infact a master bender thus completely changing his view for the better.

So how are you going to cut or tone down this elite character arc because some eyes and ears will be too brittle to see and hear it??

Anyway, i am already half arsed about this live action tbh, so I can't be bothered.

THE BEAR (S1 & 2)......9.9/10

The definition of perfection. Masterpiece acting, premium tier storytelling and writing that keeps you on the edge of your seat and always anticipating. Also has killer musical score. Interesting characters. Numerous characters to root for and you're invested in. What more do you need in a show?

There's some questions into how this show is classified a comedy but of course you can see tidbits of its humour. I still don't see it as a full-on comedy as I see BEEF.

Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri's on-screen dynamic was fascinating. Dunno but me see a ship between these two. There's a bit of romantic tension between both but they just brush it off in an instant. Highly anticipating the third season. Season 2 matured like fine wine and did more work on character development and history as well as a very good set-up for next season.

Oyaskii's persistent hype was a big influence in finally watching the show and off course a perfect excuse to see more Ayo Edebiri. She's a beaut and has an infectious smile.

Sorry my review is coming over a week late. This is highly recommended.

"Cousin, I am glad you got around to seeing it ๐Ÿ˜Š.

When i actually saw S1 about 2 years ago, the show didn't really resonate with alot of people, but that S2 was an all timer โœจ. S1 was basically the Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri show but that S2 was "Everybody's" show, the character development went from 0 to 100 ๐Ÿคฏ. The S2 was much more chaotic than S1 ๐Ÿ˜…, Took me days to completely see "Episode 6" "Fishes" because of how chaotic it was, and the camera was panning so much, it almost gave me a panic attack ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ then they stepped it down with Episode 7 "Forks" with that delightful Olivia Colman cameo ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿฟ

lol on the question of it been a comedy or not, well the makers billed it as a comedy/drama and i think that's the best fit. It has some "comedic moments" but it is mainly trauma/drama. The humor in it is nuanced and delicately woven into the chaotic narrative. and also it helps with awards, totally qualifies for comedy categories since it is under 30 mins, and if it was submitted as a "drama", it could have been coming against "giants" like "Succession" and that would have drastically reduced it's chances of winning.

Below, is the depiction of "dark comedy" the show is on about ๐Ÿ˜….

Supreme... Supreme....Show ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ

Reactions to this has exploded on YouTube, what do you think of the trailer?
I felt the acting was subpar
"It feels unnatural", I can't explain it. It is looking like the 2010 M. Night Shyamalan's version, which was extremely bad btw.

I still feels this isn't meant for a live adaptation. Fingers crossed tho, it is either going to be very good or very bad, no in between.

BEEF......9.5/10

Perfection!! That's all I can say.

Ali Wong and Steven Yeun delivered an epic performance to remember. Both were amazing as co-leads. They both deserved their Golden Globes win. The writing is just crazy @ss twists upon twists till the end. Dark sh!t everywhere. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

This show made me to start looking at American comedy series in a good light. Dark comic TV shows like this are much appreciated and I'm willing to delve in fully. I've always ignored and disliked the genre but after this masterpiece, I'm having a rethink.
One of my fave show last year... absolutely supreme.

I was surprised it was a Netflix show, only to find out A24 had a hand in it...so that's why it was probably that good ๐Ÿ˜Š

Well, the Oscars best actor win is officially between Paul Giamatti and Cillian Murphy.
*between Cillian Murphy and Cillian Murphy. Paul Gaimatti absolutely smashed his role in "The Holdovers" but too bad it's in a year where CM delivered an All timer performance ๐ŸŒŸ. I have never seen a Biopic depiction this good in recent memory, since Gary Oldman played Winston Churchill !

Does this show really have enough rizz for all these unnecessary stop gap and tensing they keep doing? I personally think not. The start of the year has been so hectic for me that i basically can't actually remember events of the first few episodes they released of S2, without a recap... I'm gradually losing interest

"The Boy who harnessed the wind" (2019).

"Inspiring and Uplifting"

This Biopic tells the story of a boy whose village faced severe drought and famine, and he was able to harness wind energy from crude materials to provide water and save his village from starvation.
A very nice watch 8/10.

Side Note: Will Africa ever leave the trenches? The movie was based in Malawi but if i didn't know, i could have sworn it was Nigeria, because it's basically the same problem and scenery, lack of portable water, lack of electricity, more out of school children and so many problems that are so alien to first class countries! Like how hard can it be to provide just basic amenities? I was on a video conference call with colleagues from Brazil one time and they "took my light" and my screen went dark, and they were genuinely afraid for me, they kept asking if i was okay, and i explained to them that they "sieze power" and could you believe this people didn't understand the concept!, like they haven't experienced such before ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ and mind you Brazil is still tagged as a fellow 3rd world country but they have somehow hacked their way out of basic problems that still plagues us here.

Racism is despicable but i feel Africans makes it easy, It's easy to question if the knowledge to be great rest only on the white race.
African and to be specific Sub Saharan Africa is still a long way off from being a "proper continent" and i fear it may never attain it. ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

Lol, I've already run out of space like 4 months ago. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Na like 1.2GB I dey run my device on these past few months. Some days e fit worse reach 750mb+.

I've been doing 'watch and delete' all these months and I still can't keep up cos there's some shows or movies I got to watch concurrently I can't wait to watch and delete all my previous content.
E choke me like dis.

There's some things I go like watch but cos I need to clear space, I go dey stranded. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ
lol i dey like "light device" wella ๐Ÿ˜‚. My daily driver device has a base storage of 128GB and i am not a believer of SD card, but i have had between 30GB to 45GB free space for the better part of 1 year plus now.

Find this app ES Explorer, the older apk tho, cuz the recent updates to it ruin the app. The app has the function of scanning your storage and arranging the files eating your space from Big to small. I am sure you'd find things to delete to free up space. Also check your apps as well especially streaming apps, YouTube, Spotify etc, they tend to cache data each time you use them, you can clear those as well. Then check WhatsApp...another storage eater, clear media and backup files you don't need.

Pro tip. Never a good idea to have your phone storage running low, slows down things, because the phone storage is what the OS runs on as well. If you are a believer in Sd card. Get one, 64GB or 128GB would do fine, but make sure it's class ten and look out for SanDisk or Lexar product.

My watch later list has become scary for me that's why I just download them and know I'll be forced to watch it when I want to delete things.

But this habit don turn serious problem for my device.
367 downloads?? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. Find time to watch them and declutter!.

My YouTube life is actually well curated lol, i devote time weekly to watch videos i "liked" during the week but i never go near that "download" button. Andriod apps are too unstable to take that risk, small shake to the cache and data of the YouTube app and you'd lose those downloads in an instant ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.

Plus those downloads require alot of storage to function properly because of how YouTube encrypts their downloaded videos.

So my basically just like, watch and move on, although they keep recommending but i never hit that "download" button ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Yep... A lot. grin grin

It's pretty much a bad habit for me and I'm trying to break it this year.

I download it on the YouTube app tho and watch it there later on when I have time or somehow revisit the app. I'm a chronic procrastinator so I mostly download content for later. Most I end up not watching unless it's a big project or a very important something I watch ASAP.
Ok lol fairs. Like G G suggested, probably get a bookmarking app.

Personally i just "like" the particular video i want to watch later, and visit my profile to watch it when i want to.
