I've been using Recuva and it's at 62% scanned now with 5 hours to go...

My issue however is that I'm yet to find a new storage...
None of my guys have any free hard drive right now...

So nowhere to recover the files into...unless I recover them back into the same drive...

Someone said he could get a drive tomorrow evening but that will mean restarting the whole process and he isn't even sure what free space will be there...

I wanted to buy another drive but I'm seeing 1 terrabyte for 70-85k... Which makes no sense for something I wanna use once...

I'd rather spend that money redownloading most of the videos I need. I have over 200gb of movies/anime on my PC...
And I'm trying to collect another 80+gb I sent to someone some days back
I still feel the drive is still okay, it is just a file system error when the person you gave connected it to a phone.

Yeah the price of a new drive is off the roof, a wrong time to be buying one now.

So since you can get some of your files back from peeps you sent it to, that is a small respite.

But resist the urge to format the faulty drive, as you look for solutions to it and most importantly, never trust anyone with the drive you have most of your files in, if it's that important, the person should get a flash drive, so you can send whatever file the person wants.

Once again, sorry for the nasty experience.

So Jason one is the cause of all this...

For some reason, I have this feeling Daniella didn't end up with her own Jason .. I couldn't find the ring in his finger..
Jason one didn't technically cause the whole chaos, He had the chance to build the box and become a world renowned physicist, he walked away from it all, to build a life with Daniella albeit a modest life, with the love of a family. However Jason 2, decided not to build a life with Daniella, instead built the box, became a world renowned physicist but without the love of a family, then he saw how empty his life became despite the fame, became Jealous of Jason One's life, used the box to transverse the multiverse to find Jason one, remove him from the picture, and have a life with Daniella, thus wanting to eat his cake and have it.

So Jason 2 caused the whole chaos.

Well...i wouldn't want to spoil the ending, it's just one episode left, you will find out by this week πŸ™ƒ

Okay Dark Matter matter, why/how did Jason One's entering the box create several versions of himself and Jason Two has been using the box for close to a year without creating any version of himself?
Speaking as one who has read the book...

1) Jason2 intentions are clear and focused. He has just one specific goal in mind which is to take over the real Jason's life. This clarity and focus in his intentions prevents him from creating multiple versions of himself.

2) Jason2 mental state is more stable and directed. He is methodical, and very calculated which allows him to use the box without the chaos Jason one experienced.

3) Jason 2 had almost a year to master the box. He understands how it operates and has learned to navigate the multiverse with precision.

Netflix are in the streaming business. They need new contents to service the needs of their ever growing subscribers.
They don't need every movie to be a thought provoking exercise.
Btw they also have those in their library.

Anyway it's good to see Jessica Alba again.
She fine as hell
A movie doesn't need to be thought provoking to be good, and currently Netflix are releasing neither.

The really good movies in their library, are from outside production and they are from yester years ago that they recently just acquired rights to.

I can't even name 5 really good Netflix original movies from this year alone, and app is becoming more redundant personally to me.

And Jessica Alba in a 2024 flick seems like a fan service gimmick to me, because she has been out of the movie game for so long, that i even thought she retired, and puting her in a low quality flick contextually, seems counter productive.

But it's totally okay if these kind of movies appeal to you.

I've been saying the same thing. There haven't been any good new movies for streaming for weeks now. All we've been talking about is series and HOTD.
Is it because of the strike or something. The only new movie is from A24 'I Saw the TV Glow' and the movie is shit
I don't know the cause of the decline but they need to rectify it fast. Glad shows are holding it down, especially this month of June, i have been eating good.

Reviews are important I don't care what anyone says,if your show ain't critical acclaimed I will avoid like plague there by saving my time.

I have avoided star wars "the acolyte" so far from what I've seen I made a good decision.

If rotten tomatoes or IGN no rate your show over 8 or 9 I ain't watching.
I have seen some not so critically acclaimed media that totally banged, more often than not even. I have also seen highly critically acclaimed media that were totally bare Γ‘ss.

Not saying you shouldn't follow ratings per se, but there is no recognized degree in film or show critic, and every critic is expressing his or her own personal views, views which might be totally different from yours if you eventually get to see said media.

Moreover, the mechanics that goes into criticting a movie or a show, are just too much these days, with many different underlying agendas warping genuine criticism. An Alphabet person critic, might rate a bottom tier flick high just because his/her/their people are represented in it.

Yo...Brooo...wtf was Homelander cooking in that last episode of The Boys? 😩. I am completely oblivious of the comics, but i just hope the show writers haven't written this mf too strong to eventually unalive, cuz outside of his fragile ego, does he have any visible weakness?. Hello house, please between "dark" and "Evil" which is the most interesting to watch?
Both are good in their on rights depending on what you really fancy.

Evil is about a rag tag team that investigates supernatural occurrences and it's really well done.

Dark is more like a time jump sci fi that you really need to pay attention to get, because they move through time a lot and so it may be a more tedious watch.

Dark Matter (2016) by Blake Crouch

There is nothing else i want, Just my Daniela......

I paused the show at episode 3 so I could read the entire book first, and man, was it worth it. Although it was painstaking at times, as it took the book about 7 chapters to reach the events of episode 3 of the show, the book compensated with a rich and vivid experience that enhanced my appetite for the show, even knowing how it ends now.

By the way, it was one of the most profound books I've read in a while. The multiversal trope was handled with a clever twist. Books are such a magical medium, one of the very best forms of art.

Now, back to the show 😊

Donald Sutherland aka President Snow! and the father of Kiefer Sutherland aka Jack Bauer has sadly passed away today.

A talented actor that would always lit up the screen which ever role he was given, His strong antagonist flair in The Hunger games, made that franchise a force to be reckoned with.

I envy your dedication to watching oldies movies man. I got over 25 solid top tier oldies and classics to watch, but fear dey catch me to start.
Don't understand what's going on. At the point before I download, I'm in a rush to watch but as soon as I download ginger drops.

I'm more inclined to watch a long @ss TV show than a 2hr movie. I have like 3 films (Gerald's Game, In the Mood For Love, Hitman) I've watched halfway through and haven't still finished just because I paused to catch up on my latest TV shows. Getting back to them now became herculean tasks.

Imagine me having watched 14 movies all year long, while I've watched about 15 TV shows in the same span. 😒πŸ₯ΊπŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™‚️

lol The regular unavailability of top shelf movies these days has made my work easier. It gives me ample time to knock off my oldies. To put things in perspective, the only new flick i have copped this month and that i even think is worthwhile has been Hitman, and we are already passed middle of the month.

Plus, i have recently found out, i have lost the ability to even download and hoard media in large volume .They recently upgraded the internet around me to a fairly high bandwidth and each time i connect, i just lose all urge to download, cuz bro i have several drives with years and years worth of media, and i basically don't see the point of copping more without clearing the backlog that i have, maannn, i had files i got as far back as 2020, unseen!!.

The straw that even broke the camel's back, was a last month, Google changed policies to their unlimited drive option for workspace, and my admin was forced to delete one of my drives without prior notice and this drive had close to a 1TB worth of files, files that i have curated from way back, from torrents with seeds that are dead as of today or hosting sites that no longer exists, so getting them back is near impossible 😩

So bro, is all vanity downloading and hoarding unending without dedicating the time to see them, so what i do now, is to shuffle within my HDDs each week, and just pick out oldies to see, i have a priority list of which to see first too, then i follow a max 3 shows weekly, that's just 3 episode per week, and then the occasional good new flick that drops once a while.

RE: Still Alice (2014).

A gut wrenching journey through the fragility of memory.....

There are some movies that you dare not see a second time, not because they aren't good enough to warrant a second watch, no, far from it, in fact impeccable motion pictures, but is just because they are incredibly sad, and this and Manchester by the Sea, are 2 of such movies for me, but i dared to see this again, and whilst is such a beautiful film, it was just as grim as the first watch.

Still Alice is a horror esque flick, a heartbreaking portrayal of a disease that shouldn't even exist. Alice Howland is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's, and she quickly begins to forget the world she knows.

Julianne Moore shines as Alice Howland, and i read up on how religiously she researched on the disease so she could deliver a masterclass performance. And man what a hell of a method acting it was!. The film opens with her being a professor of linguistics, with a firm grip on reality and as she is diagnosed, her countenance gradually changes into an inevitable mental incompetence. There was this scene, where she had to take a leak, but forgot where the bathroom was in her own house, and in the struggle to find it, she just leaked on herself 😩, It was sad to watch, but boy, it was some fine acting, and that Oscar best actress nod was all too deserving.

I sometimes use to wonder, as perfect as our bodies, it can actually succumb to diseases such as this, cancers, diabetes etc and eventually see the corruption of death, like this perfect body, will rot away someday!, and all the thousands of religion in the world doesn't provide enough comfort from this inevitable dread...it just doesn't make sense! πŸ˜”.

Anyway, i can't promise that this is a happy movie but it will be worth the watch if you get around to it.

You are only digging a deeper hole for yourself. Same context applies to your Mufasa argumentcomplain of studios doing remake as cash grab. When so many remakes have been made by different studios as cash grab. You see the hypocrisy grin

Just as you had the right to complain back then others have the right to do the same.
And the Mufasa is out now, and you have seen me watching it and complaining about it on here abi?.

Whatever i complain about, and i genuinely don't like, and i don't partake in it, i stand on business till the end!

You guys saw all 3 episodes, and eagerly waiting the fourth this week, but you and the others have written a thesis on about 2 minutes that disgusts you, out of the entire episodes released thus far...

It's best you guys set your priorities straight and you, yourself learn the concept of context while at it.

what exactly are you saying?? the viewers have the right to express their disgust or praise over whatever they watch in a particular series, I mean if i enjoy a particular scene i can come here to say what an amazing scene, why can't i also do same for something i didn't like in the same show.

Well thats the world you live in you have to accept it. People will always complain about stuffs irrespective of the fact they will not change it by complaining same way you were complaining about Disney's Mufasa a while ago knowing it won't change anything same way people are entitled to air their views. So on that point you have no ground to stand on. Because you are just as guilty so rest

That's why context matters. The show y'all complaining about has proven time and time again to have no shred of care for any sort of morality. So complaining about, something that they have quite literally done before in past seasons albiet in a different medium feels pointless.

Point being "The Boys" isn't a show to form morality police about. They have done more disgusting things without a war cry from you guys, so probably it's the act itself that disgusts you guys, and not the grey area of morality around the act itself, that's why I feel the outrage is pointless. If it was Butcher, that was suddenly turned, then i would have listened, because he has not had any prior inkling, but not Frenchie!.

If you lot can't still see the point, by all means carry on with the whinging and complaining πŸ‘πŸΏ

And "Nigerians" on this thread aren't the only ones complaining about Frenchie being gayy, search his name alongside gay on Twitter. Then you'll see the real complain
As we have complained now, they will definitely delete and re-plot Frenchie's role in the upcoming episodes right?? πŸ€·πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ. You lot keep bothering your heads over what you can't control, and how does this not even ruin the experience of seeing the entire show for you guys, if all y'all gonna do is complain about something that didn't even last 2 mins on screen for an episode that lasted about an hour.

Besides, i don't know what show you lot have been seeing for the last 4 years or so, or probably you lot haven't been paying attention, cuz the Frenchie guy has always been suggested to be on the spectrum.

This is how the world thinks now, or a section of it, best to get with the program, FF X4 the particular scene if it disgusts you so much, or better still avoid the show, instead of bickering about it for days, when you damn well know, when Episode 4 drops this week, you are still gonna be there πŸ€·πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ.

RE: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.(2004).

Inception (2010) for the hopeless romantics!

There is a reason why Charlie Kaufman is one of my fave screenwriters. He writes just above the normal machincs, in a somewhat complicated way but in the end the story is clear and coherent, but in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, he writes his least complicated scripts yet, but it's probably the best of his illustratious career.

Presented in a non-linear way to confuse you, but it's all premeditated, to firmly ground you on it's emotional core devoid of traditional timing, infact the movie exists outside of time. it tells the story of Joel (Jim Carrey) and Clementine (Kate Winslet) who goes through a tumultuous relationship that leads to a painful breakup, with each willingly undergoing a procedure that erases all the memories of the other person, but Joel, mid-erasing, within his subconscious, decides to fight for Clementine....

It is just such a beautiful piece of cinema that is unwilling to be tied to any genre, A sci-fi masquerading as a romantic flick if you must, but the message it's not lost, a full gazette on how all of our memories and experiences makes us who we are, our pain, love, sadness, even our mistakes, so erasing them, means erasing our person, it means you will never learn from your mistakes, because you wouldn't even remember it in the first place!, and you can easily as well just repeat them..., On a personal level, i sometimes wonder if erasing the memories of a lost loved one would ease the pain, but i wouldn't want to live in a world where i didn't have their memories πŸ˜”

There is a reason why movies are one of art's best medium and films like this are the archy type of how good cinema can be. In a time where good writing and storytelling has been relatgated to the background and films are trying to outdo each other on who use VFX more or who pleases which woke agenda more, this film stands as a cult classic, not because of it's elegance, but infact because of it's simplicity in telling a story that encapsulates the entire human condition and all it's emotional weight with a visual spectacle that seeks to tell a story of it's own.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of my favorite films ever and i am always skeptical about making my personal list of "best films i have ever seen" because of the sheer number of good films I have been privileged to see over the years, but should i ever make such a list some day, best believe this will be right up there.πŸ’š

Exhuma 2024.

Kdrama + Supernatural Horror = A good mix!

A wealthy family is seemingly cursed and they implore the help of a shaman and a geomancer who links the "said curse" to the vengeful spirit of their grandfather, they exhume the corpse to appease, but baba granny had a decade long score to settle and he wasn't having any appeasing but that was even the least of the problem, because in exhuming baba granny's corpse, the shaman and the geomancer unearths something more sinister and angrier with a century worth of score to settle that ties up to the Japanese occupation of Korea, turning it into a bone chilling, horror visual spectacle with genuine scares as opposed to the clichès usually done by American horror flicks.

The acting is so strong, lead by Veteran Choi Min-sik from Oldboy and a chance to see Kim Go-eun do a sexy shaman exorcism dance!. The writing was also good, so good that the whole thing actually looks plausible in real life , and you'd almost forget this is infact a fantasy supernatural horror flick.

Good Good Horror flick for the neutrals πŸ‘πŸΏ
