We're gonna have an hour long scene of them harvesting grain in slow motion .....
Bruhhh...That grain bit of the plot might be the worst writing in a flick in the recent while in hindsight because it made absolutely no sense in the end. The Imperium with all it's tech couldn't grow grain, and had to descend with all it's might on a tiny Village for the grain, then change course to chase some rebels, and level the village, in other to get rid of the rebels, and along with the "said grain" that they couldn't do without before..... ChatGPT would've cooked a better storyline ngl...

Pls sir which site can I leverage on to search for my project topic in Philosophy Dept.

So unfortunate some people cannot write their research themselves and will now resort to a writing service. How then will you be fulfilled that you achieved that certificate when you eventually get it knowing that it really wasn't you, but someone else that did it for you?
If you cannot write and do a project on the course you've been studying for 4 or 5 years as the case may be, then that person has no business being in school.

Are we still talking about movies here?
You lot that keep asking this questions surprises me. These discussions stem from movies that we see, and discussing them in totality, makes the thread more alive, and some people actually learn from these discussions. Movies encompasses the entire "Human Condition" and it is not out place for discussions about them to dabble into various facets of life. Giving, some airheads often try to derail, revolt or become a total troll to some certain people on here, that they feel they have a personal vandetta against, for a pointless feud that they cooked up in their heads, it's best to starve these people of any attention, and along the line, these people will crawl back to the hole they came out from, allowing for a more sane discussion here.

Because if everybody just drops a name of a movie and maybe rating, without any discussion of some sort when the movie warrants it, this thread will be dead before you know it.

I can't count how many times I've argued over and over again about how foul religion is ๐Ÿ˜ช.
White men brought a religion to your country so they could dominate you easily- they left and Africans are still like the elephant who thinks he's still chained when he isn't - Africans just love chains at this point๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™‚๏ธ
Religion is not foul, it is the practice here that is foul. It has more to do with the poverty and low quality of life here. When the government has failed to do the basics, people outsource their problems to God, because it's seems like their only hope, when ironically 80% of the things they are calling on God for, it's the job of the Government to provide, and so in this heightened state of hopelessness and delusion, they believe hookline and sinker, everything their religious leaders says, year in year out, and the problem never gets solved, because God can't give you road or give you light . The religious leaders complete wash job , by promising that enduring suffering here might actually lead to a better life in the after life ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

Many of us don't like to admit it but within the last few years and seeing the mentality of an average black man whether in developed countries or in Africa, all I can say is.... The average black man is indeed the race with the lowest IQ on planet earth. And hard facts and socioeconomic development backs it.

That is the main reason the Northerners will always remain painfully behind the Southerners in Nigeria because of religious dynamics, since the South is still a little more flexible.

If you look everywhere, countries with a high penchant for religion are usually behind secular nations in HDI.
I remember the useless back and forth brain-dยฃad convo between Black Americans vs Africans with that "Foundational Black American" bullshรฎt was it two years ago? I just dey shake head. Na that time I confirm say, the problem isn't even colocated in the continent alone but a genetic source code engineering.

Me, I don comot hope for Black man ever getting sense and receiving emancipation evidenced in that dude that always finds a way to show his inferiority complex under "white man" supremacy.

Africa no dey move forward at all till religion is relegated to an afterthought and funny enough none of us are ready.

One thing I usually ask these overly religious people is that: since your religion is the only way to "redemption" and all others are false, do you want to tell me all your ancestors, are all dancing in hell fire cos there was no Christianity or Islam back then. Billions of people dey hell dey chill.
And they always fail to give a reasonable response.

Another ironic thing is none of these religion even originates from us. And we always behave as id we're more religious than who brought it to us.
Bro...I have already clocked that Africa is not moving forward anytime soon, the part that is predominantly black that is, because countries like Morocco and the lot, are doing quite well for themselves.

Check well, there's no Nation that is predominantly black that isn't backwards, the common denominator is melanin and i am starting to believe it's genetic. Haiti is so close to America and yet it is a Godforsaken spit of land, and I don't need to tell you the race dominant there, so the thing spreads across continents.

But black dominated African countries are the worse of the draw because low HDI, brazen poverty and religion fanatism are a bad mix. These countries in this continent have all 3.

Going by the spate of drive by shootings, black on black violence, gangbanging, gangsterism, babymama lifestyle, they are not in anyway superior to their black brothers in africa. We have values. They dont. The average nigger apart from the ones that are highly educated is poor in mentality. The difference is the geographical location they found themselves in courtesy of slave trade. Many of them won't survive in Africa if the topography was reversed

The ones saying this are actually the thrashy blacks, the drug addicted good for nothing blacks that are unhappy that blacks from Africa, are reaching feats they can't reach and getting jobs they can only dream of....i pay no mind to them.

I understand what you are saying. But how do we as blacks move forward?

We are enslaved by religion and colonial mentality.

Just look at the front page and see how many Nigerians are supporting Israel. The same Israel that the whole world is now wanting to stop the genocide. And of course, the Muslim Nigerians support Palestine blindly. I have two Muslim guys in the Muslim section who have never criticized APC or Buhari or Tinubu but they shout for Palestine all day.

We are enslaved mentally. The slavery of blacks has moved from physical to mental.

We worship the white man and also worship his God.

Just even look at the comment saying that the western countries are better because they have war heroes.....as if Africa or Asia don't have war heroes as well.

I preach every day but the enslaved ones say that I'm a fool. The irony

Man, I feel Religion is the biggest monster here. A Northern muslim feels people in Gaza are his direct bloodlines because they share the same religion, and meanwhile, all the wanton killings and kidnapping going on already him doesn't concern him, because to him "these infidels" deserves it and despite being of the same nationality, aren't his brothers!...such a gutter mentality that reeks of low IQ.

Same vein some Christians are also supporting Isreal because to them, they are one and the same! part of God's own people they say!, meanwhile, Isrealis aren't even Christian, they gladly signed off Christ's crucifixion, and they don't give a damn about any teachings that is outside the mosaic law.

Religion has such a stronghold here, like it is so uncanny, recently women were rejecting, cervical cancer vaccine because their pastor said so, and they want to use the vaccine to control world population!, like how dumb can you be?, you did science basically all your life, and all that education, logic and reasoning is out of the window because your pastor said so?? So no free thinking of your own? Haba.

Sorry to say, i might not have the data to backup it up, but blacks of African descent, are probably the demographic with the lowest IQ, in the entire world and that's why it's very difficult to make any meaningful progress.

The damage that religion and cultural differences have done here might be irreversible, in genetics, a person's personality and thinking is a result of genetics and environment, and this warped herd environmental low mentality thinking has been engrained into genetics here, and so children born these days, come out thinking this way, the only way to save such child, is if you as a parent is proactive.

It will take years, if not centuries, of social re-engineering to change these hyper religiosity and cultural bais mentality, only then, will Nigeria, or Africa be ready to move forward, i wouldn't bet on it tho.

I am pretty sure if this was a white actor, "The Slap" shindig would have boiled over by now, but because of his race, all his illustrious achievements is still gonna be defined by that action. I mean this man is quite possibly one of the greatest entertainers ever, but his career is been wilted down to a misdemeanor that quite frankly came from a good place, i mean, most sane women will totally love their man defending them in the face of disrespect, albeit the wife is thrash tho imo.

Ezra miller's rap sheet is longer than the rival Nile, and he is damn near a felon!, but that didn't stop him from appearing in a big budget flick on a big platform with said platform bosses even trying to defend him before the movie came out.

Will Smith is an Oscar Best Actor winner, and he is still been treated like this, inferring that as a person of Black origin, you are already at a disadvantage, sad, but it is what it is, and The only way to gain prominence, break the stereotypes and earn global respect is for us to be united for causes that concerns us...See what the Jews and Indians are doing, Isreal is damn well committing a genocide but the "first class countries" are turning a blind eye, because Jews are in the upper echelons of the world strata. Compare to Blacks, Black Americans have a low mentality thinking that they are more "superior" than Blacks from African descent, like same skin color o, but they feel they are ""Superior"....beats me.

I saw a US grad student from Africa leading a #FreePalestine movement last month, and this brother was ready to loose his admission, lose his F-1 visa and possibly get deported for the cause! and i was like, look at this dumb fรณรณl!, if the roles were reversed, no arab or Caucasian is risking all that for your black behind!.

We as blacks need to do much better.

Finally found time to watch this HBO gem. Premium storytelling at its peak despite being a head wracking mystery. I still no understand wetin dey sup and some weird characters with their non linear behaviours but the drama, thriller and acting keeps on climbing new heights with each episode.

Now that's a big way to end a season.

Can't believe I've been postponing this masterpiece for years. Got a bit bored few months ago when I tried to watch it. But last week, damn... Couldn't let go and rushed it. Seems sometimes one has to be in a certain frame of mind to actually enjoy something. I knew I'd enjoy it later on so I wasn't too bothered for abandoning it for long and still went ahead to download the whole season. Gut feeling at its peak.

Top tier TV show. And seeing this Carrie Coon just dey gimme joy. Margaret Qualley and Justin Theroux are solid scene stealers too.
It's super talky and a pretty slow burn but storytelling and writing is worth it.
Wait you are just seeing it now!? It's like one of the best HBO shows ever, so so good. The opening episode was so so profound, set up everything nicely. In season 2 it seems they were doing a different show, but it was all connected in a beautiful way.

I remember the subreddit used to go off with so many reactions because there was so many aspects of the show that defied logic and reasoning, like did Wayne actually had powers or was it all just symbolic ๐Ÿ˜….

Max Richter also created magic with the score, especially the opening sequence.

Good good show, I cut cap for HBO, them sabi this series thing die!๐Ÿซก

Majorly nonsensical movie..... Boring humans with stupid dialogues, but that's not what I came for in the first place. The Titans were obviously the draw. And delivered in the powered fights and all. But entire storytelling na mediocrity.

The CGI for Godzilla in this is better than the one on Gojira: Minus One but well you can only do so much with such shoestring budget for a blockbuster fare.
Seems, Japanese Godzilla Minus One made this Hollywood installment looks premium stale probably because one has been exposed to better similar content. So this Godzilla installment was just an obligation to the franchise.
lol... I totally can't be arsed with any Godzilla movie, the last one i saw was the with Millie Bobby Brown, and i just knew it wasn't for me, so if they like they should pair Godzilla vs Kratos vs Superman in the next installment, it still wouldn't pique my interest.

His score for Oppenheimer (2023) was just great. Especially "Can You Hear The Music?"
The entire album was such a beautiful piece of film music. No surprises for the Oscar win. I had the album on both my Spotify and Apple Music Wrapped last year, just to tell you how much i rinsed the album.

And yet there are folks who don't enjoy or pay attention to film music or score ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. One of my fave scores ever enncusplate how a proper score can elevate a scene.

It is called "God Particle" by Hans Zimmer from "Angels and Demons" (2009). It is played during the scene where they discovered that the "Anti matter could end all life as we knew it" and so the template was "invoke dread" and boy did Hans Zimmer go to town! infusing different element including some faint Latin incantations in the background, whilst Joshua Bell was on Violin solo, doing his thing and serenading the whole thing, then towards the end, Hans Zimmer infuses a rotor effect, and if you're listening on a Hi Fi headphones, it will seem as if, a helicopter is flying loudly above your head and it's about to crash down... it's so so good and without even seeing the scene, fear go don already dey catch you ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.

That's why Hans Zimmer is probably their father when it comes to this score thing, but this new crop are trying sha o especially Ludwig Gรถransson, i saw his work on "The Mandalorian" and i instantly knew he was the one, The Lisan al Gaib once Hans bows out ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿฟ

Junkie XL Maan...I thought you was a real one? ๐Ÿ˜”. So should this score scrap any award, who gets the credit you or the bloody A.I?? Sickening.

This AI BS is gonna cause more harm than good if not properly policed. I can't see how people don't see that it is gonna stifle creativity in the long run and make us all like zombies clutching at the feet of the latest AI model to do basic and flimsy tasks that humans can actually do better.

The only reason Hollywood bigwigs are clamoring for it's inclusion in movies, is unbridled greed to cut cost and reek more profits but if you think screen writing is bad now which is leading to more subpar movies, just wait till AI starts writing screen plays armed with the knowledge of all the woke nonsense we have now. It is just going to be X10 bad.

I fed my last blog entry to a particular AI model and it came out worse. Point being, AI can't tell human stories , no matter how trained or adaptive the model is, there is this particular emote a story or screen play written by an actual human has, that an AI can never replicate, Only humans can properly tell stories about the human condition
, giving, AI can help you shapen your story to be better, but if these folks are gonna rely on this tech to write the whole thing, then i want no part in it.

Every single app now has some form of AI model infused to do nonsensical things that no one asked for to be quite honest, it's a total mess, AI was supposed to solve complex mathematic equations that takes us to other planets and explore the vast galaxy beyond the Milky Way, Solve complex torque mechanism that finally gives us flying cars, break cancers to the last atom and give a true lasting cure to this menace of a diseases etc...These are much better uses of this tech that benefits us all, and ensures we don't all lose our jobs to AI and instead makes us do our jobs better. But if folks gonna be using it to write stories from scratch or something as flimsy as replying an email? Then i fear, it might be time to gatekeep this technology

"The Responder S2 (2024)"

Bleak....Just Bleak ๐Ÿ˜”

This is a grim and unrelenting portrayal of a Night time police responder's struggles. I thought Season 1 was depressing, but this installment takes it to a new level - possibly the most depressing piece of tv I've seen in a while. The protagonist is trapped in a grueling job with minimal rest, a meager salary, and shady side gigs that threaten to destroy his personal and professional life. Just when a glimmer of hope appears, he's dragged back into the vicious cycle of his bleak existence.

Despite the darkness, the show is soso brilliant, the writing and delivery, so so strong and Martin Freeman shines as the lead and i pray he continues to make more of this

Again, Do British shows ever miss? Their conversion rate is like C.Ronaldo's level, 100 shots on target, 99 goals fgs ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. They have a knack for crafting quality TV like this with concise, 5-6 episode seasons that pack a punch. If your mental health can handle the intense bleakness of this, I highly recommend it. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

An extremely mediocre movie
The literal definition of "shut-off-your-brain-and-watch"

I didn't go in expecting some serious plot...but at least have the decency to make something suitable for anyone above 12.

Even for popcorn movies, there's a limit to which I can shut off my brain.
Nothing in this movie makes any sense...from the story to the characters acting like the biggest idรฎots...

The writing is extremely laughable even for an unserious movie...

Apparently you can now fake your death by crashing a boat and leaving behind only your cloth...
No body, no teeth, nothing, just a piece of clothing and everyone including the police somehow believe you're dead...ok...

I get it's supposed to be a comedy that makes no sense...but still at least show some signs that you take your audience seriously...

I expected more from the director of Bullet Train
Seems, there are so many turn off your brain flicks than actual turn on your brain flicks these days.

No way, we all not turning Zombies in the next few years, at this rate ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.

Lol, Netflix movies have a reputation to be useless 95% of the time. It's only in TV series they measure up to the others.
Although, with a new executive in the film division things looks to change.

Hoping the recent resolve, leads to better quality projects, if for anything, to justify the ridiculous spiral increase in sub prices they have been on lately.
