I am not supposed to even laugh at this but the thought of this has me in stitches 😂😩. Like seriously, how will a sequel to "The Passion of Christ" even work?. The replies to the tweet are cracking me up 😂☠️.

Hollywood is so down bad at the moment, sequels and reboot here and there....They might actually need AI faster than they think, at this rate to write out screenplays for them fgs 😩

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (2022).

“As my obsession grew, I was saving body parts, such as skulls and skeletons.”

Jeffrey Dahmer, Jan. 12, 1993.

When Netflix did "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile": The Ted Bundy Biopic (2019), so well, i knew they had something for me and other true crime and serial killers profilers aficionado. My eyes literally lit up when they announced the "Monster" anthology series that focuses on Serial Killers and i was giddy when they chose Jeffrey Dahmer as the first profile, his psychopathy range is an all timer, he is one of the best studied profiles in the true crime docu world.

When the series came out last year, i had to let it marinate and i picked it up a day ago, and it kept me up till 3am, 2 days ago!. Maann, it was such top shelf serial killer biopic, that I don't even need any further true crime pod or docu on this cold, psychotic killer, the depiction exudes a next level realness on the chilling horrors of Dahmer's crime as he murdered and cannibalise 17 boys across racial lines, for no apparent reason, he stripped his victims to bones, and kept thier skeletons in bleach for perfect preservation and thier flesh, he kept for barbecue!, It earned him the chilling nickname name, The Milwaukee Cannibal.

The show runners altered some accounts of the actual story probably to make for better TV, the entire thing is great stuff still, they started from his arrest and worked thier way up from his troubled past to his murders, then trial. Evan Peters as Jeffrey Dahmer is an all timer casting, his depiction of the role was the finest quality and he adorned the blonde and glasses to completely match the physical profile of JD, you would have to watch carefully to catch the nuances of unbridled psychosis that is hidden his tempered mannerism..just an amazing top tier acting.

A decent watch i dare say, and an easy recommend for folks who love true crime docu, pod or depictions but stay away if true crime lore upsets you and makes your stomach squeaky because Jeffrey Dahmer was a sick, twisted and sadistic fellow and the show is pretty grime and bleak.

The show returns next year, taking on the Menéndez brothers, The dynamic duo, offed their Parents on a moonless night, because apparently, the inheritance money was taking too long.... Exciting stuff to look forward to tbh!.

8/10.
Yeah.... It's time for this 😩....The story of this season is like in my 10 top serial killing profiling piece and Netflix has decided to bring it to screen.

Seated all weekend for this feasting ✌🏾

Great actor.

He is an exceptional actor. The "Twilight Saga" tried to box him, but post that, he has been carefully chosing artistic roles that shows his range, and indie films will let him do this alot, that's why he's been in them more than blockbusters in recent times. Saw him as caring armed robber in "Good Times" (2017) and i instantly knew he was totally him!..peak acting.

To the trailer, hmmm this plot looks jaded and clichè....No?....Well it's Bong Joon-ho, so i will be there.

Finally a comedy wins for being a comedy!

Always knew it would be hard to beat out Jean Smart.

I've watched the S1 of this. It was great. Guess I'm going back and up to date. 😉
lol make HBO still chow small because it seems Netflix and FX were flexing this year's Emmys and leaving no crumbs 😀.

"The Bear" is still the most awarded comedy show in a single night, yet it's very far from been a comedy... still blows my mind. But the showrunners/FX putting it in that category it's an all timer masterstroke, that move has cemented the show status inside 3 seasons/years, what could have taken comedy shows of yesteryears like Friends and the likes, years and a great deal number of seasons to achieve.

It is a telling sign of how hard, the comedy genre has fallen off, back in the day, you could have like 6 comedy shows with 23 long episodes/season going bar for bar on an Emmy night. I absolutely love "The Bear" but if it's the best comedy show in the last 3 years, and racking up this much Emmy like it's nothing, then this industry is so cooked and we might actually have a problem 😭

"Only Murders in the Building" una 😩. I didn't even bother with this past S1 cuz of how one directional it seemed but it keeps chowing Emmys each year. If there is any need for evidence of money laundering in showbiz, it's definitely this show. How many murders are there in that Building??

The movie is so straightforward. It's either you ridiculously hate it or extremely love it, no middle ground. I stand with the latter. I wasted over 2 hours on this last week, 2hrs plus i will never get back. The trailer promised me action, only for it to be like 90% unnecessary drama. Tried to be Jack Reacher so bad, and that didn't even bother me, they copied it poorly and landed an ambiguous and obnoxious ending.

Most of the praise for the movie, were for how the lead actor looked physically, than the actual storyline, and that says alot and the Bro immediately went on a photoshoot express to promote the movie.

Brah, i had a review typed up in my notes, but i just backed out from posting it, cuz if i actually did post it, the mods would have banned my handle for like 40 years 😩

Netflix is just Soo polarizing, they have very good contents and then some that'll make you scratch your head.
Brothers 😩... Netflix haven't had anything good for the better part of this year. The only worthwhile addition to their platform in months has been "Prison Break" which they don't even own!

And they have the nerve to keep increasing sub prices, and if you mistakenly opt out, they start goading you with lot of mails of a new exciting showings, only for you to indulge and meet the same rubbish...😩😭

Now there is absolutely no way Netflix keeps bringing out this much bottom barrel flick without any sort of blowback because what the actual hell was this?.

Peeked into the storyline late and i instantly knew the movie was not serious cuz what is the hell was that plot?.

I'm this close to washing my hands of Netflix originals ..zero reward value 😩

Update:

Hello beautiful people. So I have been able to download "The Deliverance" movie😄

Yesterday I was so frustrated. You can't begin to imagine but I carefully read all your comments and I appreciate all your inputs.

Thank you for the help.

I really appreciate you all.

After going through what you all said. I took a step back to analyze what could be the issue?

So I decided to try what phr0nesis said by using another browser. He mentioned he uses Opera.

Initially I was skeptical this might work becos I use and I was using Google Chrome and it wasn't working but I decided to try it today.

I downloaded Opera from my Playstore. Went on Nkiri.com and....

Boom....it was so SMOOTH. I was shocked.

No Ads...my Opera Ad blocker was automatically ON after downloading the Opera browser.

Download didn't take up to 15 seconds. (15sec is even much sef. Let me say 10sec...yeah).

Nkiri site was so Smooth.

Thanks guys. You all have made my day.

I love you all.

It's 12.58AM.

Let me go back and continue watching the movie.
Ha...Welcome to the Dark side then, Matey! ☠️🫠

Psa is the goat when it comes to quick upload they usually upload latest episodes faster than all the other sites I use. But yeah the ads are a pain I only go there as a last resort when all my normal customers are delaying in uploading an episode.
How are you guys still having this same ads issue using PSA when they are literally tons of Telegram channels offering their uploads at break neck speed and you can easily download with just a single click? If you know your way around Telegram, you wouldn't ever see the need of visiting the site ever.

Personally i haven't visited the site in ages, and yet like 70% of my media coping are Psa files.Tested thier quality in 2017, and i haven't looked back since. They are my absolute first option, the only downside is that they put emphasis on very high quality media, and so they tend to be very choosy with what the media they upload unlike Pahe or the likes that just upload just about anything 😩.

The difference between their files and others might be minimal or near negligible on mobile devices capped at 720p resolution, but as you go higher, with full HD 1080p screens with Amoled screen, thr difference becomes very very noticeable and if you favour seeing medias on larger screen like a PC or a Tv, the difference is so so distinct to the trained eyes. If you put files from O2tv or Awafim on a Full HD panel smart tv, you might need to visit an optician because of how blurry it would be 😩 compared to PSA files that would literally eat up all the pixels that the TV has to offer.

It was a good flick alright but it would have been great for me if they showed scenes from those murders they claimed the dude committed, it was just basically hearsay, we never actually saw the murders, just one picture of something that looks like a crime scene...

I tried really hard to picture the guy as the psychopathic murder they painted him to be, but I couldn't, all i saw was a guy with OCD..

Well it's N Shyamalan, that's his style of writing, so I guess i just have to let my immagination do the rest and complete the puzzle.
If we start picking holes, we might not leave here. There are so many inconsistencies and so many things that could have made it much much better. A strong first and second act, but the third act just went awol to almost cringe level...no wonder critics were tearing it up.

But at least, like we agreed, it was watchable, doesn't intrigue....but watchable.

Trap: As usual, movies from Night Shyamalan almost always on point. Very nice buildup, good suspense, and the cast did their part.

Just that bicycle spoke part, with all those eyes on him, he was able to do that? Haaaa.

Loved the maniacal laughter at the end

7/10.

Rebel Ridge: Nice buildup also, but the end was a let down, below par on what was seen on the trailer, the fight scenes were okay.

The Serpico dragging part is not even remotely possible cos dem for done light up his back with bullets.

He protagonist reminds me of Jack Reacher.

6/10
Plot armour 101. There were even some instances at the concert venue that defied logic but i will allow because it was a good flick as the movie accomplished what it set out to do and in good time. No time wasting or dragging on unnecessarily.

Eternals (2021)

A very sweet looking... beautiful.... nonsense ❤️

I have been playing cat and mouse with this one and i decided to give it a go.

I totally get why this, probably started the MCU decline phase we are currently in. True to it's name, the runtime was "eternal", but whole thing looked more like a parody, than an actual movie to be taken seriously, like the writing was so bottom tier. it's like they just called some actors and actresses that had "playing a superhero" on their wishlist, and to just come and run with any plot they are given. Boring characters interpreting boring roles with a plot that lacked any semblance of cohesion. Angelina Jolie was in there, but you'd almost not notice because of how lackluster her acting was.

But but, the VFX guys cooked ngl, the action sequence with them superheroes in full flight was so pretty well done. The Speedster swoosh effect was so cool, and one of the best speedster effects i have seen in a motion picture, just a shame it was wasted on this bottom barrel gargb but all these made for a pretty cinematography. You can just see this with the volume down to zero, in Full HD for background comfort.

At the post credit scene, they pulled out Harry Styles, and it was then i knew, they were actually not serious, and it was an error on my path to think this was a serious movie, to give any credence to. They even had the nerve to slap "Eternals will return", at the end, and i was like Return to where kwa? 😩😭...glad Kevin Feige duly scrapped any plans of this atrocity ever making a return to the big screen.

4/10.

"Kinds of Kindness" (2024).

A very hard sell.....

There are some filmmakers that have a strong imprint on their films that defines them. David Lynch is known for surrealist flicks and he is the king of that genre, Christopher Nolan makes metaphysical flicks that centers on human connection and personal identity.

So enters Yorgos Lanthimos, who has carved a name for himself with a sub genre he might as well had invented himself, absurdist dark comedies that are very graphic and explicit that seemed to work just fine, up on till now...

Kinds of Kindness is an anthology of 3 stories , starring the same lead cast, all through the 3 stories, but that's where the connection ends. The first story, while not all high good, piqued my interest, but the 2nd story was not it at all, and by 3rd story, they just started inserting absurdity for the fun of it, so much so that it lost any form of shock value, whilst telling no coherent story and lacking any sort of direction and by the end, the whole thing looked like the random thoughts and dreams of Yorgos whilst high on premium grade exctasy.

His last film, "Poor Things", worked and received much critical acclaim because underneath the absurdity and nudity, there was still a story to resonate with, but i have to be frank...This didn't work for me at all.

You can actually skip this, if you have better things to see, (not much of those around these days anyway), but if you go ahead, just know you'd be investing 2 hours and 43 minutes, that you could have spent elsewhere been productive.

Definitely sitted on opening week. 😉
I remember when "Joker" (2019) dropped and first critics review where on about, "Oh it was too violent", "oh it's gonna increase gun violence"...like violence and gun crimes didn't exist before....like the movie birthed it!, it didn't even deter me, i was seated by 10am on 5/10/2019, and we were like 3 in the cinema hall, and we had a treat!. It turned out to be one of my best movie experiences pre covid world before the madness of the lockdown started.

It went on to totally smash it at the B.O, and Joaquin Phoenix getting Oscar's best actor nod, and when called upon to receive said award, this brother appeared so nonchalant, yapping about Animal rights and what not, and there have been whispers about the mental toll the character took on him, so i didn't even remotely think he was gonna sign up for a second one...

So you can imagine my joy 😩😩....and they went ahead to cast Lady Gaga as "Harley Quinn" that's like going "crazy for crazy", and to top it all off, they pulled Bredan Gleeson from Ireland. This is like A1 casting....

So brother, i can't tell you how unbelievably back we are 😩😩 .

Seated for this feasting ✌🏾
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by oyaskii(m):
After a long hiatus, i invested in some horror stock, this week....

Longlegs (2024).

skin crawling, gut turning indie horror fest.
...

A seemingly clairvoyant FBI agent investigates a series of bizarre familicide-murder that occurs in a defined pattern, and give an inkling, that suspects are just clever and nothing out of the ordinary is going on, but as we go deeper, she soon come to realize that, the murders are beyond "clever" and something more sinister is going on, and that the man downstairs might be involved....

Special praise for Nicholas Cage who shines as Longlegs, invoked genuine dread with his mannerism alone and i am so in tuned, with his post blockbuster/retirement vibes. He is now able to casually drop all timer performances like this, that truly shows what an exceptional actor he is.

Also happy for Neon cuz has A24 seemed to have dimmed the lights on indie flicks that are not expected to bring in big bucks, they have stucked to their guns and "LongLegs" hav actually gone on to be thier biggest payday yet at the B.O.

7/10.

Oddity (2024)

Absolutely... Absolutely.... Terrifying!

Straight out of the bat, this was quite possibly the most nerve wrenching flick i have seen in a while....

Damian McCarthy's follow up to "Caveat (2020), is an irish horror masterpiece that didn't even waste time like "LongLegs" to reveal itself to be a supernatural bone chilling ride...

A one eyed man goes to a woman's house at the dead of night, to inform her that some entity has entered the house before him to kill her and he has come to save her, the woman is hesitant to open the door, cuz she's quite sure that's she is the only one in the house....or so she thought...

A delightful treat, if you like 80s-90s horror...no dilly dally.... straight up eerie and unsettling spectacle....

I'm quite convinced that 2024, is truly the year for horror flicks and i might start taking the genre seriously again...

DADDIO is a solid 7/10 for me.

Another nice movie from the beautiful Dakota Johnson, her face card never declines at all.
It's funny how the entire movie was shot in a car and yet so intriguing, romantic and therapeutic in a way especially to those girls dating older married men (sugar daddies).

I love how realistic the movie is on the basics of family and relationships and there is so much one can learn just by watching this movie alone to enable the person navigate this journey we call life.
This particular sub genre of movies are one of my faves. Limited cast, and basically one scene and shot. You'd just know the dialogues are going to be intriguing as the cast just gone on with rich discussion about life in general...no particular plot point, just wholesome human connection..

I totally enjoyed this one and i agree with your rating.

Yep, you are right....... it's not that hard but it's not called the movie Business for nothing and new stories are always out but they don't take the spotlight the way existing IPs do. Audiences scream and beg for new stories but tends to disappear immediately they are out and the movie flops, the director pays for it in director jail. how on earth is this motivating for filmmakers?
True...True...

Indie filmmakers used to have stories closer to almost 100% originality far from the madness of blockbusters but the allure has always been low, because at the end of the day, they still use money to produce and not getting that investment back is bad business.

A24 used to be a haven for indie filmmakers, but even they are moving away from making many arthouse flicks, in favor of commercial flicks, just to stay in business.

Even the streaming/VOD pipeline seemed like a huge break for arthouse flicks but blockbusters are running away from long cinematic runs, and releasing earlier on streaming platforms and competing with them.

The biggest film playing right now is Alien Romulus, this film has been going on since the 70s, meaning they have been recycling it for 45 years!, this year alone, we have had a Kong movie, a Kung Fu panda flick, A Ghost busters flick, A mad max flick etc...zero new ideas, just throw in some woke nonsense and agenda, and call it a day. Some of these franchises should have been retired by now. I know the aim for these prod companies is to make money and nostalgic bait is a safe net for them, but i totally detest the state of movies now.

It's a billion dollar franchise na. And people seem to love it as all the movies in the IP averages $900mn worldwide. So Universal ain't stopping from churning this out every two to three years. It's easily Universal's biggest cash cow alongside the Jurassic World movies.

This one has a chance of hitting a billion dollar too despite the middling reviews. So you'll see more of this.
Yup, at the end of the day, it's a money making business and the astronomical bread in B.O numbers is all the motivation they need to keep going.
