Am so happy this news is exposed now. Lets see how much Tinubu will claim they got the trains for. Lagosians should be happy as a major loophole from which billions would have been siphoned, has been 'partly' plugged.
abeg stop highlighting your ignorance - seven pages and you still do not understand that the trains were bought and will be operated by eko rail and not lasg?

Transparency in a process in which details are still not widely available to the public just as is the case in the Federal projects.  grin
yeah, the process is so shrouded that you have been able to spam us repeatedly with a recycled tabloid article that lets us know the the trains have a scrap metal value of $1500, something no on tried to hide

even on wikipedia, there are references to the deal -

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto_Rocket_%28Toronto_subway_car%29

Toronto Rocket (Toronto subway car)

The Toronto Rocket, also known as the TR, is the newest model of rapid transit trains used on the Toronto subway system. The name "Toronto Rocket" was chosen through a contest open to the public, prior to which the train was designated under the production name as T35A08.[6][7] The new trains are the first and currently the only rapid transit trains in Toronto and for any public transit system with rapid transit trains in North America to feature a "six-car fixed" permanently-mated subway train with full-open articulated gangways, a feature similar to that used on the Articulated Light Rail Vehicle streetcar fleet. They are owned and operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC). The trains are built by Bombardier Transportation in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, with design based on the T-series (T1) trains and Bombardier's Movia trains. The first train set (5411-5416) entered revenue service on July 21, 2011,[8]

The new trains operate exclusively on the Yonge–University–Spadina (Y-U-S) line and are slated to decommission the system's H-series (H4, H5, H6) subway cars, the oldest model of trains used on the system since the 1970s. To offset the cost of the new subway trains, the TTC announced in September 2011 that it will sell the later lines of the H-series (H5, H6) trains to Eko Rail in Lagos, Nigeria.[9][10] The oldest lines of the H-series (H4) trains (which are operating on the Bloor-Danforth line) are to be scrapped, while the remaining T-series trains on the Y-U-S line will be allocated to the Bloor–Danforth and Sheppard lines.

With this damning article, the cars purchased by FG may actually be newer than the ones Fashola/Tinubu are bringing to Lagos. Now we know they wont cost more than 1,500 dollars each, lets watch out and see how much they will claim they bought them for. We will help them publicize the information for them.
of course the cars by the fg wil cost more - is it not the fg of inflated contracts and secrecy?

that is if we will ever see those cars at all - they will probably rot in the ports like phcn equipment.

its because of the transparency of LASG's process that e are having this argument in the first place
PoliticsRe: Is It Not Time To Totally Purge The Army Off Core-northerners? by oybv101: 2:36am On Dec 26, 2011
perhaps we should have purged SS natives from the navy when mend were at their peak

this is the sort of nonsense we can expect from the likes of beaf.

boko haram is bombing the north. northern soldiers have no problem with killing their own - look at damaturu

another tim eit will be cage buhari

what sort of failed human beings are these gej bootlickers that try to turn every calamity to political benefit

the insiduois thug is , like his boss, trying to us boko haram to further a sinister personal agenda

small wonder some say gej may be behind boko haram -

after all, the man has told us more than once that they know the sponsors of boko haram

Nashville:
I get your point now, all I can say is time will tell. Jubilee line alone carries about 600k people everyday and I can tell you that the E train on the NY subway carries almost as much everyday too. So 1.8 million riders may not be impossible and they can use price to reduce the number of commuters if they are getting overcrowded.

My point really is that Fashola should be given the benefit of the doubt for at-least trying to bring in a solution to our traffic problems. Let us wait and see if it all works
i'm not sure how much of this wear and tear stuff applies, its not like a car used in the us coming to nigeria to face potholes, floods, incompetent mechanics and crazy traffic. the trains will be run on a rail line. if wear and tear will affect anything, its more likely to be the upholstery.
PoliticsRe: Gov. Fashola Made A Laughing Stock Of Lagos In Canada by oybv101: 2:06am On Dec 26, 2011

'international airport tarred road ' does not even have runway lights

abi they think they are still in 1967 when they were landing planes on roads during their great war  cheesy cheesy lipsrsealed lipsrsealed

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akanu_Ibiam_International_Airport

The airport resides at an elevation of 1,466 feet (447 m) above mean sea level. It has one runway designated 08/26 with an asphalt surface measuring 2,402 by 45 metres (7,881 × 148 ft).[2] The runway has been extended and widened for local and international flights at 3,000 by 60 metres (9,843 × 197 ft) [4]
East of the Enugu airport(Calabar airport) respectively.[6] The airport was re-opened on December 16th, 2010, however, as airport lighting has not been installed, it is open for "day-light" hours operations, till the completion of the second phase(Airport Lighting) of the reconstruction process of the airport is completed early in the year 2011 and ready for some international flights / activities. Furthermore, the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu will be fully ready for all air-networks of international flights / activities once the third and final phase(New Terminal, Control Tower, local and international terminals/gates, parking lots etc) of the airport reconstruction is ready later in the year 2011 / Early 2012. [7]
can anyone confirm if this lighting has been installed now? why do i doubt it?

anyway enjoy. all the better to deliver y'all to kidnappers. they get you as soon as you drive out the airport gate
