Oga o, rather than you face the very message I was trying to pass across you were trying to talk nonsense and showing your foolishness here. For your info the coy I work has an annual turn over that is more than Nigeria's budget. And I'm sure the phone I use your annual salary can't afford it. Nonsense

You can never say never. You'll be angry at yourself if you never tried. I've got some work experience but I didn't even try. No harm in giving it shot. Only those who try stand a chance. Al the best to you bro

The story has always been they don't give Nigerians, but I see no reason to believe in that. Apply and pray for the best. Internship is also a work experience and I believe u must have undergone one, all d best bro.
I used to believe that crap until a guy got to my school last month from Nigeria through DAAD. To be honest, I think work experience is the main thing those guys check and I will like to encourage anyone that has quality work experience like Ministries or other places to apply (even using your company's letterhead), you might probably get it

The most racists sets of people or nationalities towards blacks are Chinese, Arabs and Indians. I'll live with a racist white person than these people.White people no matter how racist some might be, one thing you can't take away from them is they have hearts and sympathy.

You can test this yourself: go in front of a Chinese, Arab, Indian or a White (European, American or Australian) and pretend to be dying, make sure you are very dark-skinned, come back and tell me who will attend to you, and treat you like a human.
And the most painful part of it is that these Asians are noting in Europe. The moment I came to Europe I see that they are just like thrash, hustling like the no tomorrow, no one sees them. Dem go come 9ja de form boss. I wish I was the one been bounced back by the security. The matter must reach police station that day cos I ll take laws into my hands. Even if we're marginalized everywhere in the world, which one is segregation against me by foreigner in my country. NEVER

what if she is scamming you by saying she lost her job? how are you sure she will find a job by the time the money you give her run out? will she ask for more money because she hasn't found a job? when do you plan to marry her since you have been dating for 4 long years? whats the exchange rate of the money you want to send her? by the way when was the last time you saw her in person?
This your questions self, I think I need textbooks to answer them. Lol.
I left Nigeria somewhat September last year and that was the last time we saw. I was dating her since University, so I couldn't have married her then. Exchange rate should be Euro to Naira
I don't think she is a gold digger cos she knew me even when all I had was the 10k I get from home. LOL
And as to when I want to marry her, I love her and she loves me. The marriage time can happen when we both feel it's best
I just want to know if decisions like this is right

Hello guys, I have something I am thinking about and I want some of you to tell give me a candid advise about it. I have a girl friend which I have been dating for about four years now before I left Nigeria. I do love her and she loves me too, at least based on my assessment. The real issue now is, she lost her job recently because she refused to sleep with he randy boss. I felt so bad about it. I am thinking of giving her some amount of money as a means of allowance monthly to sustain herself before she gets another job. I have doubts about it though because some people will say she has parents and I am not yet her husband and all. That is exactly why I am asking to know if it's is a good idea to go on with. Though I am yet to tell her anything about it. Thanks

Thanks
Your sponsor should always take care of it. Though you will have to open an account when you get here. You would present your own statement and also back it up with letter from your sponsor saying he continues to take responsibility of you. Not so difficult a process though

I have been following you for sometimes now, I must say you doing a great job. I need your help pls.
I am thinking of doing my PhD in Germany and I know one one of the criteria of getting admission is a good motivation letter and proposal. I would be grateful if you can send me a good sample as a guide.

Also, do I need TOEFL for PhD admission?
email is ayoola190@yahoo.com

Also do I need to discuss with supervisor before application?
I think first of all you need to peruse the website of your school of interest. There you'll see the requirements and know if you need TOEFL or not.
As to the motivation I've got a few copy but for effectiveness I think you shld do a some search from your end. This is PHD we are talking about and it's highly competitive. You can get some from Google, just click image search rather than web search. But be wary of plagiarism

I want to use this medium to convey to everyone that wants to go through UNI-assist. Go and ask about Western Union. I think it's cheaper but unfortunately most of us don't know. A friend went to the bank today and they gave him close to the official rate according to him. So you can transfer the cash to whoever wants to help you pay. Danke

It is not so compulsory it's here in Hohenheim or even Stuttgart. The most important is to know where you are going. As to being here, Nope you you have to send your hard copies after application and it must be on or before deadline. If you have all your documents ready, DHL would definitely get here before deadline for sure

Unfortunately, my landlord dey charge me extra for keeping someone for a period of time.

Hi, guys wey don tey for Deutschland, I am having a bit of an ish with my landlord. Have anyone ever experienced a situation where one might need to pay extra cash to your landlord for housing someone for 2-4 weeks?
I want to be well advised before I make my move? Is this legal?
Whats your experience?
P.s. this may not be applicable to those in student hostels....
Advice needed..
Before you make any move, be sure to check the agreement you signed. If it's in German you may have signed that term unknowingly. So fighting will just be a waste of time and money. Take the contract to a German to fully translate everything to you. Besides it's almost everywhere, most landlords rarely accept folks not agreed upon initially cos the extra folks would lead to extra burden in the facility. Like water, internet if provided, heating facility and all. So thread gently on that path

I won't advise you to pay to anyone's naira account if you don't really have much cash o. I wanted to pay for same thing for my friend and believe me Zenith charged me about 450 for just 1 Euro. I needed to send my friend the transaction screenshot cos even if I were him I would find it hard to believe.

Yes now you're talking! Am not fighting you my brother no. This advice you gave here is what I want more people to come here and say. Germany is not a land of milk and honey. According to international student office, you are allowed to spread your courses more than the normal stipulated time but not more than 3 extra semesters. If you go to the Rathaus in my city for visa extension they will ask questions. My ISO told me this.Am sure its obtainable in some cities too.
Some cities you go for visa renewal they bring out calculator and divide 670 by how much you have left in your account. Some students here their visas have expired without money to renew. They are running from pillar to post. They dont come to Nairaland to say it.
Even as much as we paint nice pictures let's also tell them the other side so they know what's really going on here and make decisions.
Talking about Munich, if your brother is so blessed to get an affordable place doesn't mean others are. Generally speaking most people in Munich find it very hard to get accommodation and when they do it is very expensive. I know 2 guys paying 600€ per month for a room yet they share toilet and kitchen with about 8 or more other tenants.
In my city a room in a flatshare goes for 250€ or more. Even some up to 320€ but I pay less than 200€ for a self contained which is very rare to find. Will I now come here to say rent is less than 200€ in my city when I know its a very rare occurrence?
Ok now I'm more comfortable explaining. I'll start now
Firstly I told people to find out about their city of choice, that didn't in anyway paint Germany so nice. It literally means that not everywhere is great economically
In Stuttgart for instance, someone went to the Rathaus with just 3k and his pay slip from employers, he got his 1 year extension. The reason I came here is not to paint anything, God forbid, I'm telling it the way it is. Find out about your city. My issue with the points you talked about is that you didn't read my points well. But I understand you better now.
Moving on I don't pay for insurance cos one of my employers pay it in percentage every month (based on how much I work per month). Note it's TK
Now as a mathematics student, I've got my house rent and insurance covered, and I've got money left to spend, how will I spend much more. Do you also know that during holidays, students in Stuttgart who can work can make as much as 1800 to 2k euros. God in heaven bears me witness. Not easy but attainable. Tell me how much that is in Nigeria. I don't want to mention names cos some of then are here. My friend is leaving Germany next month cos he's tru with studies and he's got job back hom.. His workplace sent him here and they have already gave him ultimatum to come back. He told me his salary in Nigeria for a month, he can earn it here in a week. Talk to ppl living here. A few ppl know me on NL one on one, so why would I start to coat anything. I'm saying what I know and I can stand by. That was why I started with check out your city. I wish every everyone successful time with our endeavor

You claimed you worked to have big amount of savings in your account meanwhile you work weekends and spare time. How much do you earn from mini jobs and still have unbelievable huge amount of money in your account with the cost of living and bills to pay? How much have you saved for less than six months that you have been in Germany to be able to have huge savings? Or are you referring to the money in the blocked account which was already in your bank before you came? Quote me anywhere you cant work mini jobs and save to have huge amount of money.
I am not the kind of person to paint rosy pictures. I say things the way they really are. I don't come to German thread to deceive people about Germany. What pains me is; we in Germany that post this things don't realise that there are people back home in Nigeria who read this thread and make life changing decisions. I know people who resigned decent jobs back home because people paint this wonderful picture of Germany to them. They get here and its a totally different thing from what they read here. I see people bitting their fingers, regretting their decisions. I talk based on numerous people I have come across here in different cities and states in this country.
I will always say it without fear or favour nobody should resign their job to come to Germany thinking there is money to pick here. If you truly want to study fine.
Sorry boss. We have two different argument. Far apart point of discuss. It's cool anyway. Enjoy. All the best to everyone. I'm out

Bros pls I want u to shed more light about "u can't complete ur studies at the normal time if u don't want a really poor grade" and also about the extending semester one. What
This path is not usually taken by everyone, if you are not owing anyone and you are studious, I don't think there a need for this but the truth is someday our big 8k will finish and the easiest way to get money on this land is as a student. Once you conclude your program and your 18 months starts. Your transport cost skyrockets, insurance goes up, taxes are higher. By the time you know it you'll find out you're working for the government and to keep yourself alive. I don't think there's a need to go deeper.

Thanks for ur response but about coping I would find a way to manage that. I understand there are jobs of 10 euro per hour. How easy is it to get these jobs in these locations Dortmund up to the maximum 20 hours per week. Regards.
20hrs per week is scary o. That's exactly why I advised you to spread your course, though someone faulted it. As far as I know(maybe based on my location) you can spread and the Rathaus would extend your visa confirm.
I know of someone from Göttingen that's even on leave of absence and he's working in Stuttgart self. First you don't need to rush with the payment. When the time is right you'll pay. If you can get just something that'll pay for all your living expenses, then you're totally fine cos your money won't be far from 8k afterwards, then you can begin to send money back gradually. My advise.
Also don't be deceived people when you all get here, you'll know that the land of milk and honey we clamour about is an illusion. I'll stop there. So just going anywhere cos you want to leave Nigeria, is not wise

Oye you are right with what you are saying but let me disagree a bit. Weekend and spare time jobs cannot give you a fat bank account balance. Especially not with the very high cost of things in this country and the pay from mini jobs.
I spread my courses too but there is a disadvantage to spreading it too wide though. IMHO seven extra semesters is long. My ISO told me that if you spend more than 3 extra semesters and you go for visa renewal the Auslander may ask questions. It may depend on your Auslander behorde's rules though.
Going to a good economic state is good but you have to balance it with a city that also offers cheaper living. I know cities like Munich offer more economic opportunities + I have seen Germans themselves relocating there to search for jobs but the problem is the cost of living in Munich is high. Rent alone will finish your 670 without anything to sustain on. A normal room with shared toilet and bathroom will go for 500,600 or even 700 per month. That city's rent is outrageous. With a student mini job it will be tough.
This country is so expensive. I bought 4 fingers of banana for 1.99€ The same banana wey no go pass 100naira for Naija. lipsrsealed
I would advice anyone coming to apply for accomodation with studentenwerk. Many of them are cheaper than paying normal rent in your cities. Trick is once your accommodation is cheap, everything falls into place.
Before you fault a story you need to be in the person's shoes to know. First I didn't tell you I'm spreading my program; I've hit not reasons for that. I only advised someone that wants to pay so much money back home.
Also my blood brother lives in Munich, I'm not a novice of the place. I've been there more than 7 times and I know what's obtainable there. I didn't tell you also that I've got 12k in my account; you don't have to assume. Anyway if you feel I'm wrong, who am I to argue. My Saturday jobs alone pays my rent. Now what point do you have to disagree with what I'm saying about my story and not your story

I said that because you want to refund about 2M back home. How will you cope with about 5 courses every semester. A single course is an bulky as anything you can think of. It's just a logical reasoning
