mechhengr:There are many sides to your story. First, Dortmund could be cool, even though I've not really heard much from anyone there. In Germany you are allowed to extend your program till like 7 semesters if you so wish. First you should know you can't complete your studies at the normal time if you don't want a really poor grade. I'll advise you to try spread your courses as much as you can so that you'll be able to have some time to spare. Also you can't repay the money in 3 months not even in 10 months as a student but if you are hard working and dedicated. Also studying where jobs are in abundant, I'm sure you'll do fine. 1 Like |

Williamso:I wanted to mention studies but I decided to leave it out. Since you ask I'll tell you Currently I'm doing very excellently well with my academics. Basically what I do is weekend jobs and I take up jobs at my free time cos there are a few flexible ones as well. I just tot of the advice that was why I came here. In Germany if you study you'll get good grades and I know God gave us the brains me inclusive. Thanks 2 Likes 3 Shares |

Hello everyone, particularly the new folks. Well many people here may not know me again, though is not so important but I feel I should send this advise at this crucial point in time. PLEASE CONSIDER THE ECONOMIC STAND OF THE CITY YOU R GOING BEFORE CHOOSING YOUR SCHOOL O. First I'll start with my story. I got two admissions more than a year ago one in Göttingen and the other in Hohenheim Stuttgart. Considering the status of both schools Göttingen by far is higher in terms of recognition (though my course is best studied Hohenheim in Germany and the 3rd in the whole of Europe I think). That aside, 7 months fast forward, I can say I really thank God for choosing this very place (Hohenheim) Stuttgart is like the home of real hustle in the whole of Germany and students here don't have problems with jobs. Currently I harbour two students one from somewhere in Kanstar (pardon me cos I don't know if that's the correct spelling) the other from same Göttingen. They came to work for the holidays. The real story here is that. Their stories really touched me, one said he has like 2k left, the other said like 3k. The 8k we hustle to get in Nigeria believe me, it's a small money here in Deutschland. I spend so much, yet if I tell you how much I've got left, you'll be surprise. I'm not saying this to brag cos it doesn't even add anything to me. But I'm saying it as an advise to you guys coming here. Find out very well about your destination and the rest will be history. I wish everyone the very best. 11 Likes 1 Share |

joneswenger:I am sorry to tell you this bitter truth, you shouldn't expect to get cheap accommodation in Stuttgart, some Students pay as high as even 370euros but you may be lucky though. And I doubt if anyone here in Stuttgart can help you search for a place if you are not already here. Even people here would rush to get one. It is that bad |

babanila:for the sake of open transaction; I want to put this update here, as to the amount you should send (based on what i told you on phone) with respect to the uni-assist stuff. I got an info from my friend that used his master card recently, he said they charge like 450# par transaction. Also, the # to euro conversion is at the prevailing rate(black market I think) for the day. so my advise is check the black market price, multiply by how much u need me to send for you and add like #500 for the commission. That should do but if anyone has a conflicting report, u can quote me. Thanks 2 Likes |

kilo4sure:Then I have to accept your stance cos you've heard from the banks themselves. So your best bet is to contact your friends here in Germany already, they'll help you out. But if u feel u got no one, I could be of help. At no extra cost, just for the euro equivalent you need to send. Have fun *Modified* Oh! I see another post of Nevilbot wanting to help out, so you can contact him. Well me still fresh so my Master Card still very much valid. Anyway all for brotherly help 1 Like |

Joysmart:yes to the best of my knowledge I think it is possible. All you need to do is take the printed page asking you to make payment for the application (From Uni-assist) and all other documents indicating you are a prospective student. By the time you get there they will ask you for additional documents they need. But if you are talking about alternatives, I think you will have to talk to people already here in Germany to help you with that 1 Like |

jaegermesiter:You get 1 year but renewing isn't much of a problem cos with like 2k euros u shld renew the following yr and that money is sure if u want to work cos work yapa for Stuttgart, some of us new here are not working cos we want to get to know the system well (academics i mean) but i v got a few guys that came a month ago and are working already. as to the price of things, fair enough things aren't so expensive and if you can manage wella and cook at home. you wont spend beyond 50 euros on meals monthly. that's fair 1 Like |

Hello guys, been like a month already and i have missed so much here. Keeping track of every message now is not so easy, I must say but I come here a few times sha. I just wanna encourage new guys here that though the process may not be so smooth at the beginning; like registering for English test, gathering your documents, applying for the admission, visa processes, block account funding and all. Yeah its not so easy but I tell you, its really worth it and God will help you all. If anyone is heading for Stuttgart, you can halla me, I received so much favor from this site that I CAN'T hesitate to return the favor to anyone that needs it. Keep the spirit alive here. We may not all come here regularly but be rest assured that we are together and u can always pm us when u need us. #peace 5 Likes |

All thanks to God, i arrived Stuttgart yesterday morning. Omo as we de land, the weather that greeted me was kinda cold but pleasant; at least for the time being. it seems like when our AC de work on full scale for house, Lol. My impression here has been so great, infact twas as if i de watch one hollyhood movie. This is because the organization, serenity, orderliness in Germany is unbeatable. I even asked friend if there's a place they make noise in Germany. Moving from place to place, trains and bus stations, everywhere just de quiet and cool. Oh! I now understand why people no gre go house again. Also, I boarded a train, thank God we already bought ticket for me to use, naso Police come train to check ticket o. I was told if ticket no de, my fine is 60 box. i was able to register at the foreigners office and the bank stuff was sorted out same day. just a feedback to the house. Nigerian students here made things a lot more easier for me. I'm so happy. As for immigration in Nigeria, no one asked me of admission letter or eve any document, my one way self, no one ask me anything. na just things like: Where is your final destination? Purpose of travelling? Course of study? Served Nigeria and where? Blah Blah Blah For Turkey and Germany, only Passport checks and i was free to go Danke 14 Likes |

willy2000:I totally agree with you on this bro. Infact from the little I searched I was able to know that even if School A rank more than school B, it doesn't translate that all the courses offered by school A ranks above that of school B. In some cases, some schools are best in Germany for a particular course even if such a school ranks 750 in the world. So let's try and check well and consider the view in whole. Thanks |

victz:Don't get me wrong bro. I was just trying to point to the fact that you can't say one is beta than another just cos of a little price difference and how the certificate looks like. I didn't even say anyone is beta but it's worthy of note that one is cheaper. |
Travel / Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Oye50(m): 12:56pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
victz:Simply put Leadway is cheaper but u can't conclude it's beta than IGI, the purpose of insurance is not the certificate but in the insurance cover. In as much as, IGI gave me a colored copy, I'm sure the cover on the certificate meets the requirements of the embassy just as much as Leadway or any other. |

XpensiveT:Well inasmuch as I'm eagerly waiting for the embassy's response on Monday. I think what they simply mean on the visa indicates that one wld be allowed to work with only residence permits but the confusing thing is why others wld have a different thing from some. Just waiting anyway We should note that these our visas even if it's type D, it's only on a temporal basis and it expires in another 3 months. You don't expect to work on a 3 month's visa.
