Nigeria is relatively peaceful because Christians don't react to issues the way some religious people do, as a result of this, many nonsense keeps happening. When Christians rise as one, no matter the region they are from, all these nonsense will stop.

Why not get a prepaid meter instead. Free prepaid meter takes time but if u visit the unit in charge at any nepa office close to u, u can get an official to facilitate or fast track it for a token(make sure it is their office). I stopped using estimated billing in my house and office since 2020. We were on lockdown and electricity was poor but I still get 18k bill monthly at home and office. It was Hell. A nepa official who isn't your mate will have the audacity to talk to u becos of a bill u never used .It triggered me to apply for 3 prepaid meters and got it in less than 2 months.
So stop cursing Fashola. There are so many things attached to all these Discos that so many people are not aware.
I hope FG can allow state generate and distribute electricity as well. Once there is competition in the industry, things will be fine

it seems you are mistaking Bedc with other Discos, even when other Discos share prepaid meters, Bedc will never share prepaid meters. When there are issues, other Discos will announce and apologise to their customers but Bedc will never acknowledge any issue or even apologise, they treat customers with disdain and are ready to use security agents to perpetuate evil on customers. We all are willing to pay to get prepaid meters but they will never make them available because it is more profitable to make money through estimated billing than through any metering facility. When you have prepaid meter, zero supply will be equals zero revenue, unlike estimated billing where bill must come even when Discos announce that they can't supply because their facilities are down.

Whenever I'm in the state I am currently, I always remember Fashola and won't stop invoking the curses of our ancestors on him. I have been without light for some weeks now, without any explanation from Bedc. They will still bring estimated billing to us at month end because they refused to distribute prepaid meters. If we had prepaid meters, our money will still be intact if power is not supplied. At a time, the house of reps wanted to criminalise estimated billing, Fashola stood against it as minister of power, he claimed that if estimated billing was criminalised, it will discourage investors from the sector. That single act of his ensured that the Discos will keep reaping where they didn't sow

Nobody is saying the govt shouldn't assist businesses, but not at the expense of others. The issue still remains that these people don't want to move away from the old system of rearing livestock because they feel it is cheaper and they own every land and can graze their livestock on them, even on people's farm. Unfortunately, people that are supposed to know better and in positions to proffer solutions are actually the ones either playing the ostrich or aggravating the issue.

The number of people holding the country to ransom including the leader may not be up to one million, if the rest can mobilise themselves, even to the point of death, to fight the regime, they will be liberated. Check American history and some other countries in the world and see how their people fought for their freedom.

This kind of news is alien to Nigeria, the current setting will not allow the prosecution of the president, vice-president or any first-class traditional ruler in Nigeria. before the law, people didn't just come together to become husband and wife, they were joined together through traditional laws and customs and that involves both families, where a man fails to perform traditional marriage rites, there are some things the man will be deprived of by the woman's family. A woman in a partnership can cheat and nothing will happen traditionally, but when the rites have been done, a married woman will have spiritual consequences on her if she cheats, all the children will become very sickly and may start dying if nothing is done, by this time, family won't even ask if she had cheated because they are seeing the evidence of cheating before them. Marriage is a contract that is legally binding, two partners can decide to live together and have babies for years, that doesn't make them husband and wife, they are only partners before the law just like this OP and the partner in question. To separate, a married couple must also go before the law to separate them unlike partnership where you don't need such.
