If Ukraine makes it out of winter with nearly two to three months to go, the tide of the war would change, Putin is finally coming in terms with reality that it has become a war, western sanctions are positive but Russia is heavily rich in mineral resources which means it can easily Rejuvenate its economy.

If there’s nothing for Putin, that war could go on for very long time, there must be a way out, If we agree that Russia could keep Crimea, would that not be the same since before the war, without a package for Putin it would be hard, the situation is still deeply precarious, Yes the US economy grew by over 2% but the tole of the war is on US and remember China the ache rival of US is not fighting though they are feeling it, US needs a soft way too out of the war because China and North Korea are busy getting powerful and there’s a likely annexation of Taiwan around 5 years time.

this is funny, you expect a country like Ukraine that is winning the war, to concede its territory to Russia, in order to massage the ego of Putin to end the war? That will be difficult. The sanctions on Russia will begin to yield results next year according to experts, Putin has a bigger war to face from his people next year when the effects of the sanctions come to play.

It is good for the war to end but if it ends like this, Putin's and Russia's reputations will forever be perceived as defeated champions.

As bad as having nuclear weapons is, this is one of the very few advantages. None of them will go to war with each other, no matter the provocation because they both possess nuclear weapons. They will utilise diplomatic means to settle the issue, but no war. Russia would have still been negotiating with Ukraine if Ukraine hadn't given up her nuclear weapons.
