'how to succeed in a harsh economy.' Is this the title of the novel? |
We learn geology the morning after the earthquake, Ralph Waldo Emerson |
We do not really fear death. It is the stroke of death that we fear |
There was this couple in warri. Armed robbers burst into their home one night. One of the armed robbers looked at the man and shouted, 'What is your name?' Fearfully, the man said, 'My name is David.' Then the armed robber exclaimed, 'What! the same name with one of the police officers that shot one of our men? Lie down. You don die finish!' The armed robber turned to the woman and shouted, 'What is your name?' Trembling, the woman pleaded, 'Please, dont kill me. Please My name is Sarah. 'Oh, lucky woman,' the armed robber said slowly. 'The same name with my mother.' Then the armed robber turned to the man again and said, 'What did you say is that your name again?' The man sprang up and said, 'No, people usually call us Mr. and Mrs. Sarah o!' |
You try small |
@Chidichris Objective people like you are hard to find |
You trivialise the fundamental errors of Ribadu by describing them as mistakess. No, they are not. There is a wide gap between a mistake and an error. His errors were fundamental and systematic. All humans at one time or the other make mistakes. His were no mistakes, please |
We are so sentimental in our perceptions that we have lost all objective judgement. That is why many ignorantly celebrate Ribadu. What I learnt from his fight against corruption is that you can keep stealing public funds, provided you remain loyal to the powers that be. This is the man many ignorantly celebrate as the anti-corruption czar. We are very eagar for a change. Corruption has done us. Anyone who therefore packages himself as an anti-corruption fighter is received with warm arms. Ibori lost his immunity on 29th May, 1999 when he ceased to be the Governor of Delta State. Why did Ribadu wait till December 2007 before he arrested him? Ribadu was playing politics and scheming. It was when he lost out that he chose to move against Ibori. Imagine him receiving petitions on corruption against two individuals and investigating and prosecuting one while leaving the other one because the latter one is loyal to the powers that be. Is this how to fight corruption? Think, Nigerians, think. What we need is a system and structure manned by a courageous and uncompromising person who will do the work without fear or favour, not in the mould of Ribadu the ambitious politician. What goes round comes around. He should come home and answer to the charges prefered against him. All these comments of sentiment will take us no where! |

Fine fiction, |
foolish post. |
Gullible people, swallowing stupid propaganda. Most of these people are very disappointed that up till this moment, there is no news that Yar'adua is dead. |
A very pleasant and welcome development. Atleast, we would have some sanity in language use |
From the begining he created them male and female, one to one. Polygamy is against the tenets of the christian relgion even thogh some go against it. God's standard does not change |
The situation in our country has made a lot of Nigerians to be very critical and suspicious of especially public servants. Notwithstanding, Dora has remained credible, as an individual. |
Well done, Fashola |
'Though he is not entitled to security votes, but sources within the party said that the N2.1 billion monthly commission paid to his consulting firm, Alphabeta, is well over the governor’s security vote.' Is this true? |
atiku |
Yar adua should complete this tenure and step down. Second term is unthinkable |
What will the face book page for signatories achieve? The FEC as well as the senate has refused to touch the issue. So? |
@poster You are totally devoid of the milk of human sympathy. You think that all does callin for his resignation are his haters? That is the proper thin to ask for, not wishin him dead. While you pray for his recovery, you urge him to resign and take care of his health. You might be sworn in as our new president after he dies. Evil heart! |
money, money, money! |
My earnest prayer is that God wll keep the president so he ends this tenure. Otherwise, the issues involved are delicate and complex. Our ideas and comments especially on forums as this, are very different from realities on groud |
Funny to have them charge users when the same news can be got free from several websites. But perhaps in future the sites might form a union and present a common front. Gbam! |
It would be laughable to compel someone to recontest by protesting, if the person says no. It is sycophancy. |
the news of her geting married hurts you because, i believe, you havn't found someone you love more than the way you loved your ex. Take time and find another and you would be thankful you went your ways |
Ideally, the Vice President 'takes over' in the 'absence' of the president. We can only pray that the president gets well and finishes his first tenure. The implications of his 'absence' are complex. It is about the interest of Nigeria |
There are good things happening in Nigeria just as we have a lot of bad things. Any journalism that is meant to undermine or put down is not in the interest of Nigeria. Good journalism is not sensational, biased or unbalanced. This is why I like The Guardian Newspaper. Its aim is to correct, to make things better, to agitate for change. Saharareporters fail in this. I have noticed on this forum that the comments here are saner and more objective. In SR, most of the comments as well as the articles show a group of disgruntled people who are out to fight some personal battle. |
