I think this whole saga is about the custody of the children.

My take on this Babangida's issue are as follows:
1. Why did they fail to execute all the Jan 1966 coup plotters, once Gowon became Head of State?
2. Why was the counter coup targeted against the Ibo tribe, and leaving the remaining non Ibos?
3. Killing Aguiyi Ironsi and his host in Ibadan was wrong, as they had NO hand in the coup. Arrest and imprisonment would have sufficed.
3. Those given the mandates to execute the Ibo politicians ought to have been northerners, so as to balance the equation, and failures won't be read as a betrayal.
4. Aguiyi Ironsi should have acted professionally, execute the plotters, and prepare to transition back to democracy.
5. When the Ibos decided to secede, they should have been granted, BUT with a caveat: DO NOT TAKE THE OIL PRODUCING AREAS, because we need the money as well.
6. Did Babangida, in his book, inform Nigerians of his ethnic origin? People like AlMustapha should answer him on behalf of ABACHA.
7. Obasanjo, and icon, is still alive to set the records straight. We should ask him for clarifications.

I agree with you. But, it is outrageous for us to allow Dangote to spend the needed hard currency to import crude oil. It is unthinkable in advanced world, especially when our crude is of good grade sought after by other countries. Haba! The net gain in dollars will fall short of expectations.

So the source of the crude is not that important insofar as it translates to cheaper home grown refined petroleum products and energy.

The Governor knows their identity and they are all Ebira

The governor does not want his people to begin victimizing the hardworking long settlers who are now in their 4th generation. Go to Delta and Edo and you will see a lot of Ebira settlers who came to work in Rubber , palm and timber plantations.

The governor sent a subtle warning to the Ebira community only yesterday stating that there was evidence that Ebiras were colluding with Fulani terrorists to kidnap people in his state. He did not mention the Ebira makeup of the Owo massacre because he did not want to see the Ebira attacked by the Yoruba people.

Let us set the records straight. The Ebiras in various states of South West and Edo state are independent farmers growing yams, cassava, maize, tomatoes, pepper and producing garri all of them in huge quantities. They contribute immensely to the economies of the host states and the nation at large. They are law abiding and cohabit with the indigenes. Governor Akeredolu, in his wisdom, said there have been terrorist cells in Okene spilling over to Ondo state. The security personnel need to investigate and root out the evil ravaging Nigeria as a whole. Please, do not vilify a whole tribe and twisting the historical origin of a people. The excellency told you that even the Ebiras have been victims of terrorist attacks.
Ebiras DID NOT originate from Chad and they were neither conquered by Dan Fodio nor joined the Jihadists. Ebiras voluntarily accepts to be Muslims and Christians.
