Ronaldo isn't bad luck, he is a great player. However, that stat is what it is. Just goes to show that there is no player that singlehandedly wins anything for his team. You might be the best player in your team, but sometimes your team might even do better without you.

trophies are won by team effort. Teams are more successful when teammates can stand up and win games when their best players have an off day. Remember how Ronaldo was missing in this last UCL final? His teammates ensured they won anyway.

Before his injury, Messi had scored in all his games this year, and since October had not played a game in which he didn't score or assist. No other soul in the top 5 leagues had managed that feat this season.

Messi has almost twice as many goals as Ronaldo has, twice as many assists. Ronaldo isn't even in the picture for key passes or chances created or dribbles... And Messi was out injured for 3 weeks earlier this season.
