I'm not interested in your ifs. There's no guarantee Portugal wouldn't have lost if Ronaldo had played the full game. He was marked out all the time he was on, and France was by far the better side.

Messi's impact? At worst, same impact as Ronaldo had in the confederations cup when they faced Chile. They even won the 3rd place game after Ronaldo left. Portugal is arguably a better team without Ronaldo on the pitch.

When we had Puyol as captain, we still lost to Madrid a lot before Pep showed up. With Xavi as captain, Bayern embarrassed us over 2 legs in 2013. With Iniesta as captain, we still fell to Atletico and Juve in consecutive years.

If we need to win a game, Messi is the one everyone else looks up to, and he doesn't just tug on his captain band and look good for the camera. He creates chances and scores goals!

rubbish. Ronaldo was in a world class Madrid team when Dortmund thrashed them 4 - 1 to dump them out of the UCL. He also did nothing when Barca dumped them out. Or when Juve knocked them out in 2015.

His Juve team (undisputed kings of Italy for 8 years now) also got dumped out this season in the UCL even after he claimed he was signed to win the UCL for Juve. This is after getting battered by Atalanta to knock them out of their league cup.

The only reason Madrid won the UCL multiple times was cos they had very creative players (all Ronaldo needed to do was get in to scoring position for a header or tap-in), and when Ronaldo had bad games (like the semis and final last season), his teammates stood up and won the games regardless.

Suarez should not even be talking. He's been hiding behind Messi's performances for 2 years in a row now.
