Good you realize the Igbos are a force strong enough to be classed as a Nation.

Unfortunately these are NOT the "highest Igbos" these are mere highlights that showcase igbo diversity and intellect. Measly things like an "I.B.O boxing belt (a sport cheered for by lowly educated individuals with high rates of aggressive and sociopathic tendencies ) are left to the rest of you, while Igbos sky rocket and pioneer changes that greatly affect millions if not billions.

A soccer world cup smh. We are too busy thinking of OWNING the entire field of sports (aka PAYING out the money for THOSE who win it) and bringing AFRICA to come together. Nigeria wants to be the China of africa? Good luck guys.

chukwudi44: FG plans to regulate use of social media in Nigeria

at Wednesday, September 25, 2013

The Bureau of Public Enterprises says it plans to roll out policies and the legal framework for the regulation of the social media in Nigeria.

Director General of the privatisation agency, Mr. Benjamin Dikki, said this at a retreat for non-management staff of the organisation, according to a statement made available to our correspondent in Abuja on Tuesday by BPE spokesman, Mr. Chigbo Anichebe.

At the retreat, held at Kuchikau, Nasarawa State, Dikki frowned on the unregulated posting of what he called offensive materials on the various social networking sites.

Dikki said this plan was in line with BPE’s reform mandate to initiate necessary policies and the legal framework for the regulation of the social media in the country.

He said, “As it now obtains, all manner of things are uploaded on the various platforms of the social media without recourse to age and sensibilities of the users. This is not good enough.”

kwame tut: SOUTH AFRICAN FILMS HAVE WON OSCARS NO Nollywood NONSENCE HAS WON THESE.

1. Because South Africans constantly KISS A$$$ . They lick the palms of white COLONIAL MASTERS and DO AS THEY ARE TOLD. So, of course their white messiah "blesses" them for being obedient servants. Hands them an oscar and promises to be good to them so long as they "act right" .

2. They were just RELEASED in 199X (what? 4? ) So they still have MASSA directing their movies

3. They TRY to make everything South African LOOK like a Western movie. How about do a movie that CONNECTS to their indigenous people? (KEYWORD HERE : CONNECT, not "about" )

No Igbo achievers ? Sarcasm or do I take it you are really not learned about the world around you or plain stu-pid? cry undecided shocked

nnenna.1:
Yep. Igbos are ultimate losers, evil and have absolutely nothing to be proud of. There are no Igbo achievers in the universe. The most primitive people in Africa and the world are Igbo.

They deserved to be killed in the pogrom of 1966 and 100% are the cause of their deaths in the Biafran war.

Igbos are unnecessarily arrogant when they have nothing to be proud of. They are just good for ra.pes and mass killings, especially when they run their mouths.

They should shut up, smile and accept these facts humbly. Then everyone would like them.

The end. You all are winners.

After this victory, what next?

Oh yeah...real life calls and rent is due in 4 days. And that Igbo guy/chic next door stays winning. *Yawns.*

When people have nothing to be proud of, they resort to stealing from other cultures.

Good. Glad you know. You should tell that to AA who ALWAYS do that.

You should learn to speak like a grown up.

How is it disrespectful if he feels she is not marriage material? He should conceal his thoughts to "PLEASE hER EARS" . Not the igbo way, a man should be direct and honest, why lead on a girl if you reall are not interested. See unlike the typical "AA" men (since you want to drag them into this EVEN though since I was born in Cali and I am part nigerian I wILL be considered "BLACK"...) the igbo man does not need to say yes just because "ya know, he gotta live with his baby mama tho cuz he can't get a crib fo now"

The igbo man is I-N-D-E-P-E-N-D-E-N-T (didn't Webby say that?). I don't like chocolate, doesn't mean I'm prejudiced to chocolate just means maybe I prefer other candy.

Unfortunately, hausas, yorubas, aa and the whole lot ALL seem to get DEEP IN YOUR FEELINGS whenever an Igbo boy does something. ALL THE TIME. I guess we are just that way too important that NOTHING ever done by an Igbo escapes the ever busy eyes of the rest of the lot.

It is ALWAYS - I told you he is igbo don't do business with him, he is too smart. he is like a jewish nigerian.
Oh, he's Igbo so he thinks he is all too handsome (MEANWHILE the mirror CLEARLY says so)
She's igbo and he's cocky (NO, she's igbo and she doesn't stand for BS)

Look around you, half of your so-called "AA" men are living SPERM samples of Igbo men. Tyler the creator, etc..

Don't hate us because we are beautiful.

Of course you should know the obvious Agbani darego, my uncle Oguchi Onyewu and the like

Amaechi Dominic Igwe

of course AA wanting to "CLAIM" him already published him as a "Black man who..." (like they did with Obama)

Fast fact:

Do you know that the person in the picture above is Dr. John O. Agwunobi, MD, MBA, MPH served as the 12th Assistant Secretary for Health (ASH) in the US. He also oversaw the US Public Health Service and its Commissioned Corps for the Secretary. He received his medical training at the University of Jos, where his father was a professor of medicine. His father trained as a medical doctor in Great Britain and then returned to his native Nigeria, so John Agwunobi was largely raised in Nigeria ("naija boy"wink .Prior to becoming the ASH, he served as Florida's Secretary of Health and State Health Officer, under Governor Jeb Bush, from October 2001 to September 2005. Dr. Agwunobi confronted many public health challenges during his tenure, including leading the state's public health and medical response to the unprecedented four major hurricanes that struck Florida in 2004. In addition, the day after being named Secretary, he led the Florida Department of Health in its response to the nation's first-ever anthrax attack. Before moving to Florida, he was Medical Director and Vice President of Medical Affairs and Patient Services at the Hospital for Sick Children, a Washington, DC-based pediatric rehabilitation hospital and community health care provider. He simultaneously served as medical director for an affiliated managed care plan, where he maintained a network of more than 2,300 physicians and specialists.
Agwunobi resigned as Assistant Secretary for Health to become Vice President for Professional Services at Wal Mart.

Kairoseki77:

Lol, you sound psychotic!

Once again, an Igbo says racist and prejudicial things about AA's and some fools are here blaming (me!). You have lost it mehn.

This ENTIRE thread was created because an Igbo was disrespecting an AA woman, saying that she is not marriage material, etc. You got out of that one by blaming it on the "jealousy" of the Hausa and Yoruba. Now you are here again trying the same bullchit.

Tell this Igbo that it is my fault that he thinks this way about AA's. LOL.

I bet you think this whole thread is "anti-Igbo" when it was obviously created because of problems that an IGBO caused. You need to grow into adults and take responsibility for your actions and beliefs.

It is this same weakness of spirit that causes you to enter another man's home, to cause problems, and then act SURPRISED when the host gets angry with you. A very bizarre mix of entitlement, insecurity, arrogance, and stupidity. The longer you psychotically blame others for your own misdeeds, the MORE people dislike you.

Keep lying to yourself. You'll end up right back in the victim position again.

Celebrities / Re: Top 5 Bankable Nigerian Actresses by ozoemeka(m): 9:36pm On Sep 24, 2013
How are you calculating these gross profits? You split the earning the movie made in the box office between two actresses and just ASSUMED they made N30m each?

Question: IF the movie made N60m, and you CLAIM (in your unfactual article) Genevive and Omotola split it 50-50 THEN

1. What was the Director and Producer's profit?
2. Investor's share?
3. Staff and Crew share? (Camera Man etc)
4. Other actors?
5. PR?
6. Expenses for location etc?

Oh you didn't THINK when you did that calculation did you?

Please sit down, actually GET SOURCES (FACTUAL not A said or B said) do PROPER math and get back to "ranking". Your list is FLAWED for now.

dani1luv: Four elements contribute to the success of a movie at the box-office. They include good script, experienced director, professional publicist, and most importantly, the big name stars.

In Nigeria, some movie stars have proven again and again that they can guarantee return on investment as long as their faces adorn the poster. They are Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Omoni Oboli, Funke Akindele and Nse Ikpe-Etim. Or how else could one explain the success of box office hits like Mirror Boy, Ije, and Tango With Me all having Genevieve Nnaji starring in them? And what about Figurine and Anchor Baby which both starred Omoni Oboli as the lead actress?

Here, We take a look at Nollywood’s five bankable actresses, their earnings and what is possibly working for them.

1. Genevieve Nnaji

Topping the list of five is Genevieve Nnaji. Love or hate her, Genny as she is fondly called, has a way with cinema audiences that make them come back again and again for her movies.

So far, Genevieve’s starring in the movies has grossed over N83 million at the box office. Mirror Boy (described by the actress as her first major film and the first to put her at the box-office) made N18 million, while Ije netted N60 million turning out to be Nigeria’s highest grossing movie ever. But Genevieve had to share the money with Omotola, who also acted alongside her. If the sharing formula is 50-50, then Genevieve gets N30 million of the total gross.

Genevieve’s next movie, Tango with Me went on to make N35 million. So, putting all the figures together, Genny remains at the head of the pack. What seem to be working for Genevieve are her enduring power, popularity and social media connection. The actress has been there for over a decade and is still waxing stronger. Her wine seems to taste better with age.

Another plus for Genny is her popularity. Genevieve is hugely popular across Africa and most especially among the youths. Before now, she has been very active on the social media especially Twitter. She even had to put up a Facebook advert after reports emerged that some acts were ahead of her there.

2. Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde

Next on the list is Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde with box-office gross of N60 million. She made N24 million with Last Flight to Abuja, N6 million from Private Storm and her N30 million share in Ije bring her total earning to N60 million.

This year alone, no actress has made as much as N24 million from a single movie; Funke Akindele would have done so with The Return of Jenifa but the movie hit the box office in 2011.

Omotola, who was reported to have been paid N5 million by Tarila Thompson all in the bid to make his movie a blockbuster, has been described as the biggest box office actress of 2012. She recorded successes back to back but it remains to be seen if she can pull off the box office magic again with Amina and other movies coming in 2013.

Omotola has been an A-list actress even before Genevieve got her first big break and so what has been working for her is the wise investment in her brand. Her enduring presence and unceasing contact with her fans via the social media has made her popular even in an environment where a mother of four like her is not fashionable.

3. Funke Akindele

Surprisingly, the third person on the list is Funke Akindele, a young lady who rose to fame in I Need To Know, a TV series, and went on to earn a monstrous fame with Jenifa.

Funke is an unlikely candidate on this list. Now, how can one explain that she is third on a list parading heavy weights like Omoni Oboli, Nse Ikpe-Etim and Stephanie Okereke among others?

So far, Funke has made over N56 million, netting over N20 million in 2012 alone. In The Return of Jenifa, Funke netted N35 million. The movie ran till February 2012. Her movie, Married but Living Single made N9.9 million while Maami made N11 million. The actress is on her way to another cinema glory with a movie, A Wish. Let’s hope she will be able to wave the magical wand again and create a box-office success.

For Funke who recently got married, the plus factor for her is her huge popularity among the masses and elites. Her movie, Jenifa cuts across all social groups with the street parlance in it becoming the mode of communication in social gathering. And as an icing on the cake, Funke has moved upscale, she is now the toast of events organized by the rich and not so rich. Her box office credibility transcends the cinema as all DVDs parading her face turn into gold.

4. Omoni Oboli

Omoni Oboli, who is still largely unknown to those who don’t patronise the cinema and social media, is fourth on the list. She is a silent achiever. Before the trio of Genevieve, Omotola and Funke even dreamt of hitting the box office, Omoni Oboli already took the lead. Figurine, her first box office appearance made N13 million while her second effort, Anchor Baby made N18 million bringing her total earning to N31million.

Omoni’s strength is her exclusivity and knack for quality. It is a known fact that if the project is not big and ambitious, Omoni might not do it. The disadvantage of that is, despite her box office credibility, Omoni is still unknown in areas where there is no access to cinemas. Perhaps, that is the reason she tries to make up with the red carpet presence.

For now, the exclusivity is working for Omoni; perhaps her new movie, Broken and other works will introduce a new twist. One other thing that should not be forgotten is the unprecedented publicity of Anchor Baby in 2010. The film also had Omoni at the forefront of meeting and greeting of fans at the cinemas.

5. Nse Ikpe-Etim

The fifth slot belongs to Nse Ikpe-Etim. She seems to be the latest sensation in big budget movies. In Mr and Mrs, Nse was a delight, her performance was a reference point and it was a hook that kept drawing people to the cinema while the movie was there.

Mr and Mrs made N6 million while another of her film, Phone Swap made N20 million, making a total of N26 million.

Too early for Nse to cement her place, as she hasn’t done N15 million back-to-back but one thing the actress has made clear is that she has intention of doing that. The leading four acts should be afraid of Nse because her strength lies in her pure acting talent.

Nse is born to act, deemed to be unnecessarily assertive a times, but you can’t accuse her of not knowing her lines. And she pushes her movies with virgour, moving from one cinema to the other.

However, Nse should watch it as many have accused her of being too ‘self-conscious’, a term casually used for budding stars who have ‘over-hyped’ impression of themselves as this could alienate fans who make the box-office count.

Hahaa...

Let me tell you something. I am Portuguese-Nigerian American and so I can relate to both cultures. Take heed: Nigerian men are different, yes. Culturally. But don't be fooled. Nigerian men are MEN. In fact, they are one of the most suave sweet-talking men (compared to African-American "standards"wink .
A nigerian man believes in family - he grew up THAT WAY so it is nothing "exceptional" (as it is for a Black man to be about starting a family AND remaining there as a PRESENT father figure) however, to the "typical" american, it is exceptional that a "man" wants and desires a family.

He is not FIRST AND FOREMOST about sex. He LOVES/WANTS sex but is "taught" that there is a "route" to sex. AKA see a girl, chase the girl, girl plays coy, guy plays smart, uses lines and techniques to bed her, then dates her. Of course, there are variations. The "Black man" is "conditioned to think like a rap music video - see a girl, ask her for her number (mind you a nigerian boy might know a girl for weeks before asking for her number - this is almost "normal" in a nigerian sense vs american sense), invite her to come "chill", have sex THEN decide if you want to date.

A nigerian boy's definition of a date is MUCH MORE than "Dinner and a movie". He is taught, (and believed) in serenading a woman he is interested in. Whereas in "american terms" that is a "simp" / "wuss" / "pus $y" / "bi-ch boy" who is "whipped" or acting whipped. A nigerian man sees it as a means to display his "capabilities" (financial and otherwise). See a nigerian boy meeting a ho (aka a cheap easy girl) will STILL serenade her to get kitten, not because he is whipped or a bitch, BUT because he is taught THAT IS HOW TO GET kitten. Meanwhile a Black man will ONLY SERENADE A GIRL HE IS interested in WIFE-ing up. So when a black girl sees a black boy serenading her she THINKS she is "the one" for him.

Separate cultural differences from his personality. Nigerians are one of the MOST ARROGANT people you will come across. I am Igbo too, and I can tell you Igbo boys (especially when we are FINE) can be the COCKIEST motherF%cker you know. Tread cautiously. Because an Igbo boy will take your heart to the clouds and leave you hanging before you realize what happened.

Sincere08: Hello everyone,

I want to start by saying I am an African American woman under the age of 21. I recently have met an Igbo man. He's very sweet and kind, however I have read many things (although I don't believe everything I hear) and I would like some advice. To tell you a little more, studying takes up a great deal of my time. So I was not seeking a partner. I only have dated african american men, but I have been known to prefer darker skin.

I immediately noticed cultural differences within the first conversation. I am interested, I like the fact that he understands my family and school comes first. I will answer any further questions you may have about the relationship with no problem. Well friendship, like I previously stated we have not know each other long. To get to the point, he discusses many things with me about how Nigerians feel about Americans. He often compares me saying, "you are very different, such high morals to be American." Do many Nigerians share the view that a lot of Americans don't respect marriage? And that American women can be uncaring? If so, can a Nigerian truely care about an American that is considered to be "different" from what you're use to hearing?

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies

Nairaland / General / Re: Stripping Self To Avoid Arrest In Nigeria - A New Trend by ozoemeka(m): 5:08pm On Sep 22, 2013
this one sounds like super story undecided

yemi2plus: Fellow Nigerians.

My name is Yemi, I'm a student based in Benin City, the Edo State Capital, Nigeria.

A new trend among my fellow Nigeria youths has been bothering me for quiet sometime now and I will be happy if we all can contribute to this thread and see how will can help ourselves.

Yesterday, I went to Ring Road (Abuma) to buy a mobile phone but was suprised and shocked when I saw a middle-aged man displaying his talent. It all started like a Joke.

The commerical bus driver was stopped by two men of the Nigerian Police Force for parking his bus on the wrong lane which was just a stone-throw from the Ring Road Police Station, he was asked to pay a fine or get arrested for breaking the law.

To my greatest suprised, he came down from his bus, took of his clothes (trouser and t-shirt) and started rolling on the floor, spitting out saliva and rubbing it on his body like a mad man. Soon, the two Police men on ground at the time of the incident grabbed him by his hand and were trying to take him to the station, when he suddenly forced himself out of their hands and took of his dirty perry-cole boxer.

"I won die today o. make una kill me o..

"shebi una dey find who una arrest, make una arrest me na" the bus driver said crying like a christmas goat with his eyes out of their sockets.

You need to see how "our" Nigerian Policemen gave him way to continue with his drama, the whole of Ring Road, including market women all rushed to sence just to watched as the young man continued fooling himself and his fellow young. Young sexy girls were not left out, trust Benin girls now, they brought out their phone, snapping and recording the event as they unfold.

You need to see how huge and bushy his dick was, he sure would win the "world most bushy dick" if there was any competition like that.

The drama was on for about an hour as the Policemen left him there and went back to their duty post.

I was suprised when the Police men left without arresting him. Could it be because they were scared of him? I guess NO! They could have called for help from other Policemen at the station, but they didn't.

Another story, I watched this on ITV news two days ago. Some youths of an area which I can't remember the name now protested to NEPA office cause of what they tagged as "419 NEPA", during the protest a young man stripped himself naked not minding the fact that there were sexy divas looking at him. After the protest, their light was stil not restored and they all walked home in shame.

Some years back, in my former area, A married man beat up his wife, the women went to the station and came back with about six Policemen to arrest him. To the surprise of all, her husband striped himself naked, poo on the ground and was eating his poo all because he was trying to avoid arrest. The Police men could not arrest him, they all went back to their station.

Now, what is the problem with our youths of today?
Why this new trend?
Is stripping oneself the only or best way to avoid arrest?
What can be done to stop this new trend among our youths?
Why do Policemen allow this kind of people go free without arresting them?

Let's all share our stories with event like the above and see how we can help youths with such mentality.

Mod, I will be happy if this thread hit the front page. I want to use it as a celebration of my two years on Nairaland.

They realized their funding will go to ZERO if they keep affiliating with that Stanley DUDE grin grin grin RESEARCH indeed... Where are all the supporters?

gokuu: DISCLAIMER

Our attention has been drawn to a publication containing research purportedly written by one of the Part Time Postgraduate Diploma Students in the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Lagos - Stanley Amalaha, titled “Science of Gay Marriage” in THISDAY Newspapers of 5th September, 2013 and on several blogs on the Internet.

The University of Lagos writes to dissociate itself in its entirety from the actions, publications and research of this individual. We further state, for the avoidance of doubt, that his publication has nothing to do with his programme and has no relationship to his studentship of the University. Indeed our postgraduate diploma students ordinarily only take conversion courses to improve their capability for the chosen specialization and do not undertake research. The case of the writer who has a background in Education (Chemistry) is not different.

Although the University is a market place of different views and ideas, its platform should not be used for the propagation of ill-conceived, unsubstantiated and ill-digested opinions that have no basis in rigorous empirical research. The University of Lagos, which stands for excellence in teaching and research, cannot and should not be associated with such puerile and pseudo-scientific postulations.
The University reaffirms its mission, which is to be a top-class institution for the pursuit of excellence in knowledge through learning and research as well as in character and service to humanity.

Food / Re: Chinese Silkie - Naturally Black Chicken by ozoemeka(m): 7:51am On Sep 20, 2013
throws up

olempe: Did you know there was such a thing as black chicken? And I don’t mean as in dark feathers, but black skin, bones and even internal organs. There are actually several black chicken breeds in the world, especially in Asia, but the most popular of all has to be the Chinese Silkie.

Silkies are beautiful birds, covered in fluffy plumage, which is said to feel like silk, but underneath all that fluff they are far less attractive. Their skin is a dark-bluish color, the flesh is dark beige and the bones and some internal organs are pitch black. Although in the Western world silkie chickens are sold mainly for ornamental purposes, in countries like China they are considered a super food and are appreciated for their deep, gammy flavor. Called “wu gu ji” or “black-boned chicken”, the silkie has been prized for its medicinal value ever since the seventh or eighth century. Chinese women consume it after they have given birth to get a boost of energy, but it’s also said to have a positive effect on the yin, blood, lungs and stomach. Silkie meat is rarely roasted. To take full advantage of its curative properties, the Chinese mainly use it to make an amber-colored broth laced with ginseng , dried wolfberries and jujubes.

According to a genetic study published in 2011, the unique trait of silkie chickens, known as fibromelanosis, is caused by an unusual genetic mutation characterized as “a complex rearrangement that leads to increased expression of Endothelin 3, a gene which is known for promoting the growth of pigment cells”. The massive expansion of pigment cells not only makes the skin and bones black, but also causes dark internal organs. Another interesting thing about silkies is their high content of carnosine, a naturally occurring peptide which is sold as a dietary supplement. People take it to increase muscle mass, ward of the effects of aging and alleviate diseases like diabetes or autism. Studies have shown the black chicken is one of the richest sources of carnosine.

If you’re wondering how black chicken meat tastes, most people say it’s no different than traditional chicken, but some say it’s a little sweeter. So, would you embrace the dark side and feast on the dark flesh of a silkie?

Don't dull, naija men are not known to be "dullards" , you mess around and be a LEARNER grin cheesy cheesy

Nalijah: Recently I was in a discussion with a few American women and the topic was "Marrying Nigerian Men". The women claimed that Nigerian men wee demanding, boring, had no romantic nature, and only thought of themselves when having sex. They said Nigerian men were very hard to please. They mentioned that their relaionships with the Nigerian men were fine until the men got citizenship. They claimed once the Nigerian men got USA Citizenship their personalities changed completely. I found this very hard to believe since I am married to a Naija man. I was yold 95% of the Nigerian men that marry American women want citizenship/green card status. I find this hard to believe since I am an American woman that marrried a Nigerian man. All men are hard to please if there is a lack of understanding.

REASON. this is not about supporting gay or not. The boy's "research" is comparable to the intelligence of a cat. So If I tell you that I have proved atoms don't exist because I can't see it with a microscope you will applaud me as intelligent right?

He is a POST GRAD student, couldn't he do some "RESEARCH" to disprove any theory he wanted? He used MAGNETS (that is, what elementary school students do) and talked about a biro (who didn't do that as a kid) so where is his advanced research to ACTUALLY prove. This is not about being "westernized" afterall, Wole Soyinka holds a NOBEL PRIZE because he did QUALITY work, and the WHOLE world recognizes quality. IF this boy ACTUALLY did research like looking at the DNA composition of humans or viewing in-utero scans THEN we could now say yes he did some quality research to disprove. The "western" newspapers are laughing at the piss poor rubbish that passes as "SCIENCE"

Don't you get it?

For wetin nah?:

Don't mind the nonentities supporting the GAY rubbish, bestiality is gradually creeping into peoples mind..let's see where that madness will lead them to. Soon those who sleep with animals will ask for freedom to do as they please. How INSANE can people be? When something is in vogue, people just want to be part of it without thinking! Do you eat with your anus, or isn't the anus an opening to the body? I just don't understand how some westerners think, theyre there making fun of someone trying to prove a point(no matter how vain it sounds)..wish I was close to some of the idiots calling us names, would have slapped them to blazes, what's wrong with the Whites anyway? They always want to be right, bunch of d.u.mB fre.aks claiming to be all knowing, FYI..Asia has taken over, Africa coming closely behind. A white man tells us its okay to be foolish, we all nod our heads and start acting foolish..not me and my generation

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am awaiting a GROUND BREAKING discovery i from UNILAG
Evil Brain:

Are you a lag student? And you don't see what's embarrassing about the theory?

Seriously?!? Have you tried reading it again?

He is trying to prove that homosexuality is wrong using magnets.

MAGNETS!!!

Please tell me you're not a science student. If you are, I might hang myself out of shame.
Science/Technology / Re: Nigerian Uses Magnets To Prove Homosexuality Is Wrong by ozoemeka(m): 2:52am On Sep 18, 2013
Stop being sentimental. If he wanted to do research he should have conducted "RESEARCH" not elementary school science project.

The best research he can do at the graduate level is two bar magnets? Not hormonal variations in utero and after birth to see if there are deviations from normal? Not a brain scan survey? It's a good thing he isn't at the forefront of physics research!

According to his "rule" that "LIKE" does not attract LIKE, then:

1. SAME RACE marriage is WRONG
2. SAME TRIBE marriage is WRONG
Matter of fact
3. SAME SPECIES marriage is wrong - a HUMAN marrying a HUMAN should NOT WORK

Oil and Water are different, YET they DO NOT MIX.

I used my brain more than he did.

Look I got a Nobel Prize for that!

stepone: @ Op: u mean any findings from a white mans research mean "Correct", while the blackman suffers its own finding of a research. Just think, is gay right?

SMH. Magnets to prove.... you know what, I just cant......Walks away undecided lipsrsealed cry cry cry he didn't even speak proper english

why should a man be marrying a man and a woman marrying a woman,... is that even grammatically cohesive? Post-grad no english? and you wonder why nigerian graduates in nigeria are unemployed?

Evil Brain: Websites all across the internet are carrying the very embarrassing story of a Unilag post-graduate student who claims to have proved that gay marriage is wrong using magnets.

From the Huffington Post:

The embarrassing sorry seems to have originated from that paragon of rubbish journalism, ThisDay Online. In the ThisDay article, Amalaha rambles on and on making little or no sense and seems to have a level of scientific knowledge below that of a dull secondary school student. Despite this, he believes that he will be awarded the Nobel Prize for his "discovery". Sadly, a Unilag physics lecturer, Dr. Henry Boyo is said to be backing his claims.

International news agencies have jumped on this story and published a number of scathing articles painting Nigeria in an extremely bad light. From mambaonline.com:

The Huffington Post article now has over 330 comments mostly making fun of Nigeria, our educational system, our newspapers and our people in general.

It looks like we have another Gabriel Oyibo or Emeka Emeagwali turning us in to a laughingstock.
