idupaul: I would like to trust the Judgement of the Agric Minister since he is the only useful person in the cabinet .But I stand to be corrected I don't think Nigeria has in place the capacity to harvest adequate quantities of salt water fish needed ..Yes there has been some growth in harvest potentials for fresh water fish especially the cat fish but when it comes to salt water ocean raises fish like sardines , herrings and Tunas as regards their tracking, catching , quick on ship processing and canning Nigeria is not yet there . The ban should come in phases starting from fresh water fish and within the peroid the govt should provide good funds to Nigerian Fishers to acquire modern fishing vessel which would be used to catch fish in Nigerian territorial waters
