Politics / Re: Obasanjo Linked With Emergence Of ‘new PDP’ by Ozonna(m): 2:01pm On Sep 04, 2013
talktimi: Bored stiff but anyways are there guys fighting for their interests or that of Nigerians ? A rtd military officer told me just today that the main issue is about the revocation of oil block licences that is about to take place any time soon (i have no idea the veracity of this) ive also heard its because Atiku wants control of all the nations ports, on a grander much realistic scale, it might just be because of 2015 & northern presidency. The question we should ask ourselves across all political divides is do we really matter to these politicians we fight and abuse each other over ?

The truth may not be far from what u wrote here.

igbo lecturer! MR.Know All

Ozonna if u have nothing to contribute, stop criticising people's opinion & how it was said.the words in this thread & website are in English unless u want to stylishly tilt it

We've critically examined, cursed and praised the whole south eastern govs a gaziillion times here. This usually brings division among the Igbos members of NL and ODIRO NMA.

I can see you love Rochas, please i suggest you open a thread and show us the pictures of Rochas' hand work in Imo rather than mischievously trying to start a war between family members (south east).

Meanwhile, if your Friend can't speak write in Igbo language tell him to stop embarrassing himself.

Sincere 9gerian:
A beg where be that make I come buy wholesale

If you are in Enugu, you can get local rice Aninri (Ekweremadu's place) and in Adani Nsukka (Songhai rice). They're both very good and destoned. 25kg of songhai rice is #3500 a bag.

Whether we believe it or not, there is serious increase in rice production in Enugu and Ebonyi state (i mention these states because they are the ones i'm sure of and have seen).

Exactly!!! I pity those that allow this NL fight to affect them in real life. Come Next year God willing, I'll be among the people that'll escort my very good friend to Abeokuta for his Traditional wedding. We'll bow before their elders, do all traditional rites and bring the lovely lady to Igboland.

Abeg,I'm tired of this Tribal war going on here everyday eziokwum. Igbos and Yorubas are too interconnected.

Politics / Re: Massobs Urges South-East Governors To Improve States by Ozonna(m): 12:39pm On Aug 11, 2013
Pukkah: The truth is always bitter but South Easterners need to be harder on their governors, be less indulgent of non-performance and focus less on 'FG/Jonathan'.

What's happening in Abia? Zero.

What's happening in Ebonyi?

They've not given Okorocha in Imo any chance.

Sullivan Chime in Enugu has been sick?

In your heart of hearts, would you say Peter Obi of Anambra is a performer?

So what's happening in the South East?

Even the South Southerners, who are even more heterogenous and the residents of Mr President's base, seem to be more cohesive.

Again, the truth is bitter but it's the only thing that can set you free.

MASSOB also needs to make up its mind. Does it want a united Nigeria or a broken Nigeria. Focus is essential please.

What has Sullivan's sickness got to do with his performance in Enugu? Have you been to Enugu or seen Ϯh℮ Enugu thread in NL? Enugu is still doing well inspite of his health.

Ϯh℮ people that have not allowed Okorocha to run Imo well are they also holding on to Ϯh℮ state's allocation? Even if Okorocha is not a saint, owerri is a nice town and its expanding(its d only place I've bn to in Imo)

Peter Obi by Nigerian standard is doing well. I'm particularly impressed with his rural road networks and Human development (wonder why Anambra pri school students must have 139 agg b4 qualifying for Unity school)

We know how Enonyi State was and how it is now, there is a huge difference. We know how backward educationally they were and progress they've made now. Economically, more rice mills/farms are springing up @ a fairly high rate and more quaries and mines have opened.

Abia..... Let's hope for Ϯh℮ best in 2015.

Yes I agree that we need to put pressure on our Govs to do better but so does Ϯh℮ people of SS,SW,NC,NE and NW

IGBO-SON:

^^^Thanks bros Ken....you put some meat on the bone of the argument in my previous post.

We have to ensure that Visa sections of major embassies and high commissions (like USA, UK, China, France and UAE) open offices in Enugu! This should be treated as being urgent by the Enugu state gov't if we want to see Enugu airport record very high traffic numbers; Governor Chime by now should have been paying 'courtesy' visits to these people and offering incentives like rent-free accommodation in highbrow areas of Enugu.

+1000likes

Question is does Sullivan have an Agent in Nairaland? Someone needs to advice him or Ekweremadu on d need to persuadeEmbassies to open shops in Enugu

tokunboh:

May you remain blessed, chief. You are one of the few people that have been objective on this thread. This interview brought Amaechi's ignorance to the fore.
I don't know what people take eloquence to be - Eloquence is simply fluent, strong and persuasive speaking.
Was Rotimi Amaechi eloquent? No, he might have spoken english fluently but his delivery was poor, weak and not persuasive.
He gave a lot of vague responses and usual rhetoric to questions asked.

3.15 - On how to address insecurity through education - The solution he absolutely agreed with is the northern governors setting aside 2percent of their resources for education (spending 2percent out of 100percent on education is what Gov Amaechi thinks is best for northern states education - That's his ignorance on display again.

4.15 - On how to address unemployment: ..... one of the ways of addressing it is Agriculture.. Rivers State Government is looking at Agriculture, Agriculture will then address the uneducated class...wtf!!! Does that make any sense at all? !!!

7.15 - On the reasons why the Petroleum Industry Bill(PIB) has not been passed: .... He commended the present national assembly for being patriotic (They have not been able to pass PIB into law during the 2 legislative years that they have been at the national assembly, yet he called them patriotic ffs.) The only example Ameachi could cite as one of the reasons for the delay in passing the PIB is the power PIB would give to the minister of petroleum.

12.35 - When asked on his opposition to amnesty granted to Niger Delta militants and if he has any alternative to amnesty: He could not offer any alternative . He then proceeded to equate amnesty granted to Niger Delta militants to amnesty request for Boko haram - How shallow? (The anchor now went ahead to lecture him on how amnesty has reduced violence and restored peace in Rivers State - That is so disappointing.

For the remainder of the interview, Ameachi just dwelt on technicalities rather than solid facts.
With the above amongst other numerous missteps that portrayed him as being shallow, how can you tell me he did well on this interview. We should learn how to analyze things based on substance and content.

How can they see these missteps when they are just blinded by hate for Pres GEJ

dj187: I have carried out my survey and noticed that most of the people killing themselves for GEJ on nairaland are igbos, they do that with the hope that after 2019 they will get the presidential ticket on a platter of gold but my question is why not fight for the sit of the presidency now because nigerian politics is unpredictable.

I hired Private eye by name Sherlock Holmes and he deduced that majority of anti pres GEJ elements on NL are Yorubas and Core Northerners because they're not in power now.

Are you happy now

letibab:

For one, GEJ promised he would serve one term only! Two, going back on his words would make him what? Thirdly, the country is already in a state of anarchy under his rule. For your information, there are worse countries than Nigeria and calling her a cesspit shows your kind of loyalty, respect for your elders and disposition.

Almost every politician promised to stay for a tenure but what happened @ the end, some started looking for a 3rd tenure. So why should GEJ's case be different? Infact tell me a Nigerian politician from 1999 - date that only did 1 term in office and had an opportunity of going for another but didn't take the offer or exercise his right/power?

If the constitution says he's eligible, let him contest. If majority don't like him, then let the majority prove it by voting him out and not by threatining fire and brimstone if Mr President gets a PDP ticket

What's wrong in the way the FG are rehabilitating and building new rail lines, coaches and locomotives? They can also make extra money by carrying goods from all those companies around Ijora (7up, etc).

I hope and pray this is true oh!!! Eziokwum. In Apapa for example, you'll discover that flour mill factory blocked a rail line there. So I wonder what will happen to the factory if indeed the rehab got to that area.

It also depends on other factors such as the size of the portfolio, investment goals, time, etc. Real professionals are good at what they do despite some cases of professional negligence. Timely information is power.

PS: I cannot advise individuals to invest in REIT in Nigeria because of its slow growth and low yield. These investments (REIT) are typically for institutional investors such as pension funds, mutual funds, etc.

Please what's REIT ?

If you a young civil servant, I suggest you start looking for a business to start or you grab start now to grab prof courses and certs and prepare for life in Ϯh℮ private sector because if GEJ comes back in 2015-2019 many civil servants will lose their jobs. In fact it will be a miracle if 70% of this current workforce are retained btw 2015-2019 (excluding those due for retirement).

I see GEJ implementing Ϯh℮ Orosanya report to Ϯh℮ letter, Ϯh℮ only thing stopping him is his 2015 re-election bid
