Yels: .
In the spirit of giving back to the house, i have decided to give a brief of my 221g interview (together with my wife n child) at the US Embassy last week.
The first question from the VO was an enquiry on how many kids i have. Next she sought to clarify if i had a child in the US last year and I answered in the affirmative. So she pressed for the baby’s birth certificate and my itemized bill of payments. I showed her the baby’s birth certificate and tried presenting hospital/Physician/Pediatrician’s receipts but she insisted on the itemized bill of payments. I insisted that it was all we were given. She then enquired on what i do, my wife’s occupation, what i earn and my mission. My wife and I responded individually and informed her we ARE ON A SIMILAR PURPOSE AS THE PREVIOUS (CHILDBIRTH) and intend using the same facility we used in the past. After much check on the screen and typing ensued by a long silence (killing suspense) she issued us the . . . .....White form with much relief to us. It was all God.
Many thanks to Ozycyx & Fyorgyn for your valuable advice. Congratulations 1 Like |

Mamaiyanu: My dear nairalanders, I applied for my first us visa in 2014 to have my first child. Denied. Applied to have my second child this year in March (posted the transcript earlier). Denied again
So I decided to apply again for the visa. I took time to fill my ds-160. In the space where they asked have you been denied a us visa before. I said Yes, and explained several reasons to contradict why I thought I was denied. In the space for employment, I also described what I do in my company with plenty story .
Lagos dates were not looking favourable so I decided to pick Abuja.
On top visa only God knows how much I have spent. Visa fee twice, flight ticket to Abuja, hotel in Abuja, taxi to move around. It is well.
My interview was scheduled for 7:30 am this morning. I'm sure my burden of proof was more than Phemas own sef.
There were 3 ladies and a guy doing interviews. The three ladies were more thorough, asking plenty questions and requesting for documents. The guy on the other hand was sharp sharp. Denying people like water in less than a minute. I was just praying to God that I should not go to the guy. Alas it was my turn and I was asked to go to him. I just braced myself and said babe let's do this.
Vo: pass me your passport please Me: hands it over
Vo: How are you doing today? Me: Very well thank you
Vo: I see you're going to Richmond Texas, when is your exact due date Me: (Said the month and day). I'm currently 6 months pregnant
Vo: You work at Bleep? (I guess he Saw that on my ds-160) Me: Yes I do. I am a manager in the Bleep dept
Vo: How much do you earn per month? Me: I earn Bleep on the average although it varies monthly. So Bleep is just an average
Vo: where does your husband work? Me: He works in Bleep as an Bleep. Also explained his job role briefly.
Vo: How long has been working there? Me: 6 years. He started working there in 2012
Vo: How much does he earn? Me: He earns about xx annually, in addition to a yearly bonus of Bleep per annum. So on the average he earns Bleep (which was not accurate. My maths skills suddenly failed me, and I stammered)
Vo: Does your husband have a us visa? Me: No he doesn't
Vo: I see you were here in March. What has changed since that time? Me: I believe I did not present my financial situation properly. I have a mutual funds which has now matured and has been transferred to my account. I have access to the funds now. I also brought a 3 month bank statement the last time but now I have a 6 month bank statement which further shows my financial situation.
All the best to future applicants! I want to personally say congratulations to you cos you did a very nice job at your interview. You have taketh your visa by force. And to think its the almighty Abuja that has been denying preggys like crazy. #Chopknuckle 1 Like |

twhizzy: Thanks for this @ozycy. Going through the thread again now. In case I may have skipped over any useful info.
I have a younger sibling schooling in Canada so I applied for visiting visa to see her. I had already made plans to have my mum and wife go visit her in Canada already so I didn't indicate medical in my application.
When going through the online route you have forms to fill and they give you list of documents to submit.
I submitted loads of document.
Statement of accounts, Letters from my office stating my pay grade, Payslips from my office, travel history (passports, Visas, Entry and Exit Stamps), my sister's passport and school ID, Letter of Invite from my sister, Birth certificate of both my sister and I (to show we are indeed siblings), My mom's passport and her Canadian Visa (I indicated in the forms that she would be travelling too), Hotel Reservation, Certificate of Marriage.
Yes I have travel history. Plenty sef! Lol
Hope this helps.
Sure it was helpful. Thanks |

@twhizzy from my understanding, you have to get to Cananda and walk into a clinic/ hospital, there they will refer you to a gynea who will take up care from there. I stand to be corrected. Did you indicate medical in your application? Can you list what and what you submitted? Do you have travel history? Too many questions, sorry o 2 Likes |

Why this na. Is the man not the father of the child? She should do the right thing and get him to consent. My opinion. First I adviced her to get the father of the child to sign. But if it's not possible, she can aswell proceed without him. What if the father is not interested in signing anything? |

MumRyan1: Good day, house! I've been a peeping reader, however, I have some few questions, please don't pass me I beg of u, the gurus. I have my visa & would be leaving for the states in June but due in August but DH & I are separated for the time being (we had a serious marital break down when I was barely 3months) story for another day, how do I get or fill consent form for LO's PP? Or is there another way out? Same question applies for a Nigerian PP or the VOA. Won't I be expected to bring d DS-3053 form since I filled him as "Husband" when i applied or can my dad/any relative act as guardian to fill the form & send down? Please, don't pass me by Can't you get the him to sign since he's the father? If not, you can go ahead and not include his name in the baby's birth certificate, then you are good to go with his passport application and all. |

Kindly share ur experiences Why not give it some time since you ain't having the baby soon. I don't think these VO are still giving pregnant women ooo, atleast not like before. Maybe giving birth in US is no longer enough reason to go to US. I think the era where people hide their pregnancy and go for interview will soon return 2 Likes 1 Share |

I applied for a us visa (b1/b2) alongside my family in 2016 and got the visa. At the visa interview i, i was honest about the purpose of my visit being vacation and childbirth. After bring cross examined by the vo, i was issued the visa with my wife and two year old daughter. In 2017, i visited the US and stayed for two weeks as i had to return back to Nigeria while my wife & daughter stayed back for 11weeks to birth our 2nd child. We had indicated during the visa interview that i will be staying for two weeks while my wife and daughter would stay for 11weeks. We had our child in US and paid our medical bills fully and obtained receipts for them. I recently applied for drop box to renew our visas which expired recently. I got a 221g visa follow up appointment (yellow form) requesting we reappear for an interview with a visa interview with a vo. Please what could be the reason for the interview and do i need do at the interview?
Anticipating your kind response
Fred Go with all your birth receipt and zero balance letter. It should be in the record that your wife gave birth. They may want to confirm if she paid her bills. Fear not. Keep us posted 1 Like |

Mamaiyanu: Hello house,
I applied for my visa interview alone but now I want to apply with hubby.
Problem is I can only change the date of my interview but I can't include a family member.
He also can't include me on his profile to schedule an appointment cos it would show that my mrv receipt has already been used.
Any help on how we can apply together? Cancel your appointment, both of you should book a particular date and interview time, arrive embassy together, keep following yourselves bumper to bumper until you land infront of the VO |

bestbian: Please house, I am new here, tried reading previous posts. I am currently studying in UK, planning to take in middle of this year but will like to have my baby in US as UK doesn't give citizenship at birth.
Please which state in the US should I look at for and which affordable hospital? And also where I can quickly get paper for my child after birth? I have no family member in the US but that's not a problem for me. I am ready to go through it all, I just want America citizenship for my child. Please advise me experienced people. Thanks and God bless. Houtson is the popular state used by many. So you may want to narrow your search. 1 Like |
