Hello family,@bellong, @sujydee to mention but a few, Just a quick one pls.
I 'll like to get cleared about partners test of English.
I'm the principal applicant and about to lodge my visa application.Spouse studied law, attended law school too and in my EOI,I Claimed NO points for spouse.
My Question= will my spouse be needing evidence for English test?simply put,is she supposed to write exam for English test?
I'll appreciate every response,no matter how brief.Thank you.
Let her write to be on the safe side and possibly avert a CO contact........English as medium letter from her sch should have been enough, but there have been cases where COs having received the letter still asked for English test.

Visa granted!!!!!
Congratz Duch1020 and all recent grantees, let's all go there and prosper.

So today I went to a GTB branch to inquire about PTA...said they only issue to return ticket holders.

Thought someone here once mentioned GTB as one of the few banks that issue PTA for one way trips.

Any advice from the house?

Hello Phlunter,

Try save yourself some stress by not including the birth certificates in your application.Your passports are enough as proof of age - birth certs have no bearing in visa application except for age verification.

If the names are consistent on other documents then you guys should be fine. Just leave the birth certs out.

As for your daughter, her immunisation card surfaces - that was what I submitted in place of yellow card in my case. Even my wife too didn't go through the immunisation procedure, it was only stated in her card that she was breastfeeding, hence cannot immunize.

Hope that helps.

Come back here! angry

Where you dey run go?
Boss!!! person nor go fit play with you in peace again?

The Sydney-Lagos comparison inferred from Oga Bellong's submission is sure not one to one. Abi how would one equate a city that maintains top 10-20 positions in world's most liveable city rankings to the one that's is always only second to Harare(Zimbawe) from the bottom of the same list?

People say the same of London, would that then mean London is exactly like Lagos? Of course not except only in the imagination of probably Ambode, Fashola or Tinubu.

That said.....bros you for just up the bonus small na, only airport pick up will not attract too many people here o, why not add like 2weeks free hotel accommodation in Sydney join? With that you're sure the next Mayor.

LONG-POST/GRANT ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All praise and adoration are due to the Almighty. So earlier today I woke to find 3 grants emails for myself, wife and little son in my inbox.

Thanks to Mr. Bellong for creating this platform through which many have ridden to their goals. How would we have gone about not being able to obtain a PCC from a country where wiffy spent 6years if not for tips from my amiable JAMSON – you are far too kind, glad to meet you soon!

What about members like Mamajaz, Bnimz, Mctowel and others that told me to draw my hears and run back to fast track my EA application when I wanted to do “baba Ijebu” – you are all awesome, sure we will meet in persons someday.

Contribution from members like Alphadoor, SegunWamiri, catchthewindfromkd, Rett0, Sammywmmy and others I haven't mentioned towards achieving this fit are heartily appreciated.

For all those still expecting ITAs and grant, you shall all share your testimony here soon by His grace - @teejah80 trust you have cleaned up your inbox for all the 4 or 5 grant emails to land soon.

For the newbies, though you might get overwhelmed with the amount of information here particularly complicated acronyms, but persistent personal research combined with not shying away from asking questions here will pull you through the stages.

Hello house,

First, I would like to know if I can add NYSC to my year of experience. Again I want to submit my application to EA to asesss both qualification and experience by November. However, I will be 4years 8months by then(Nysc inclusive). Can I claim points for 5years when submitting EOI by march next year ?

Thanks.
You don't need to assess your experience with EA, safe the dollars and let DIBP do their job at the right time (after visa lodge).

Also ensure your 5yrs completes before lodging if claiming 10points.

Finally you can add your NYSC if you have all required papers. I did in my case as I had my nysc period covered in my pension and bank accounts. I also got payslip and reference letter for the period.

My people....being a while! The journey so far.... I and my family landed Sydney 29th December 2016.
I can relate to your ordeal bro. I learned same way back in the UK and in the hard way too.

Besides their cores, people should learn to pick as many skills as possible with them before jumping on the plane. Nothing stops one from learning computer hardware repair, taking ICND/MCSE/CCNA, perfecting a coding language or even learning a trade (plumbing, barbing et al.)

For those who have flare for academics like my self, you could come up with a research proposal and start contacting researchers in your field once you submit your PR application or shortly before. You can then shoot a full application as a local student once you get your PR.
That way, tuition fee is waived before landing Oz plus you could even secure a living allowance and relocation stipends depending on your academic profile. The most interesting part is if you land Oz and find a good job in your field, you could switch your studies to a part time and work maximum hour, the catch is you might loose your stipend allowance but tuition waiver is always retained.

This is purely based on my personal experience and research o.....just thought to share as it might be applicable to some here.

Occupational ceiling is finally out.
Hmmm. Other professional engineers (1000) on prorata.

We'll have to reassess as Professional Telecom Engr. if we don't get 20points from English test.

Did anyone notice the overall number of invitations per round has been only 1000 and will be 1000 for the next 2 rounds?
This is disheartening. It's well
Yeah........that might be a good step.

Best!

1. What are the implications of getting PR visa under EA's engr tech? I'm really very skeptical about it, reason being that I have a BSc, yet going in as Engr Tech., instead of structural engineer or professional engineer.
2. Can I upgrade my assessment using my BSc for Structural Engineer, after obtaining the visa?
3. What qualification did you tender? Was your EA assessment for qualification and relevant skilled experience or just qualification?

Kindly disregard any typo errors, please.

Thanks.
Your assessment does not limit you to a type of job or title when you get to Oz…………….assessment are for point claiming and visa (period!). You can claim any title and draft your CV the way it best represents your professional exploration when you land Oz - as far as you can defend it. You can even work in an entirely different field if you like.

Didn't really need the 20pts back then, my occupation was not that competitive.....scaled through with 10pts, thanks.

You are right, remark works particularly for subjective subjection sections (speaking and writing), just it takes months plus the initial results cannot be used (say for assessment) until the process completes.

i wouldn't say lucky
The waiver is for non-migrating members (no visa) but since wife and kids will still migrate under the same visa as the husband at a later date (months), medicals and pcc is a must, they must be added to the same application of the principal as at the time of application.

Nairalnders goodmorning, just got a wonderful news from my friend this morning about his ITA to NSW. Am here to ask this question on his behalf, he plans to travel alone for now due to financial constraints on visa fees and flights to Australia for his wife and two kids, However, he wants to know if he can proceed without medicals for every member of his family for now since they will be coming in a few months time after he is settled, or must everyone do a medicals now to continue his application? Thank you. your kind responses are very expedient @this time thanks to a wonderful community.
Said not to include dependents in PR application due to finance.

Your friend is lucky, that requirement was recently waived. His wife and kids don’t need to screen for medicals since they won’t be travelling (i.e. not added to his application). However, the dream of joining him in few months might not be realistic, getting dependent visa is not a piece of cake……..they might not even be able to join him years after settling. Best bet for him is to pull resources together and add them to his application right away.

Bro occupational ceiling will determine the next step. We are still trying to achieve 20points in Pte. Looks like we will switch to ielts
I guess you guys have resolved to go with the initial EA assessment outcome.......right?

20points in IELTS is achievable though, but it's tricky. They are fond of always wanting to withhold 0.5 from one section of the exam. In mine (R8/L8/S8/W7.5), the 0.5 was taking from the section I deemed best in terms of my performance during the exam.

If Oga is getting up to 10points in PTE already, he might want to push harder in preparation (taking mock tests) and giving it another shot.

For PCC its best to do it when you have gotten your invitation to apply for visa and ready to pay and submit cos it only lasts for 3 months. Same applies for medicals, there's a number that will be generated from your immi account which you can only access when you have been invited to apply, you'll take the number to the medical center. Based on my experience your medicals determine your entry date (I stand to be corrected) so its best to do medicals like 4 days before you pay, by that time your results would have been uploaded and you'll be submitting a complete application.
Both medicals and PCC last for 1 year by DIBP standard. Both are better done as close as possible to visa lodging date so as to push IED as further as possible from grant date. If an applicant's case is not finalized until one of medicals or PCC expires.........they are likely to be asked to repeat the assessment by CO.

IED is determined by the expiry date of PCC or medicals (which ever comes first).

PS; Our Nigerian PCC usually have 3-month validity. Fortunately, DIBP still takes it as one year, so no need to panic like I did when I got my PCC from Alagbon and saw 3-months validity. In the same vain, my UK PCC didn't carry an expiry date, but I guess DIBP will still deem it valid for 1 year.
