Desgin:Will check, but questions are better asked here.........more knowledgeable people would see it and you are sure to get a rounded answer. |
Bnimz:Thanks bro.....na him be say I never even start here. I fed back info requested on 22nd April, sent a follow up email yesterday. |
jamson:As in eh! |
Bnimz:Congratz bro..........wish u best of the land But wait o, CO contact Feb, grant May......how did you cope with the wait, did you send any follow up email? If yes, did you get any reply. |
Azy123:But you earlier said it was only her NYSC certificate that bears your Surname. I gave the initial advice based on that information, considering the fact that her NYSC document doesn't have bearing in your DIBP application. But now that you have a couple of vital documents (kids' birth cert and marriage cert) in your Surname......may be it's safe to follow through with change of name. I don't thinks the order of formal name change and when you start having it on documents matter (what matters is now you've a document backing for it) |
happy4lucy:Go there with the mind of wanting to have a discussion with a friend or colleague....free your mind You can prepare scripted answers for obvious questions like; tell me about yourself? do you work or study? etc If you are asked a question whose answer is YES, you might want to say ABSOLUTELY rather than boringly saying YES If you don't know the answer to a question, say UNFORTUNATELY or REGRETTABLY before saying you don't know, never boringly say NO IDEA Finally don't wait for the examiner to tell you to speak on......use all your time to speak Those are some of the simple tricks I applied and had 8. There're lots of IELTS materials littered on this thread, seek and you shall find. |
einsteino:No doc required for EOI. Attached is for DIBP............credited to Jamson. |
Azy123:Westerners don't see big deal in married women retaining their surnames, in fact it is quite common in their societies. All you need do is prove that your relationship is genuine. You might want to take a cue from my personal experience below to determine which option suits you. But be aware that having different names on different documents usually complicates DIBP processing, i doubt if you can escape CO contact. My wife renewed her passport when we started our PR journey and still retained her maiden name as surname in conformity with her other documents; we proved our relationship by presenting below documents; Our son's birth certificate (her surname still maiden name) Letter from my HMO stating she and the baby are my dependents HMO ID cards in my company's name Correspondence emails between me and HMO when she was being added to my plan Marriage Certificate (Religious body) Notarization document from court stating she's married to me and she's not changing her surname We are still awaiting grant and have got 1 CO contact relating to PCC (nothing on prove of relationship or use of maiden name) |
bellong:So I had to ruminate over this prayer for hours......it's really a tricky one. Last last I had to say amen as I trust it came from a wise one (oro agba). |
bellong:Congratz boss!......keep being an ambassador to the millions of us who are cool headed and law abiding Nigerians. I remember reading about a woman on expat forum that screwed up her PR chance after refusing to fulfilling this simple moral obligation. She's was reported to have tried every means to stay back in Ausie to no avail as forceful deportation now stares at her. I urge us all both veterans and visitors on this thread to always listen and be thoughtful of the guidance we get from this humble man.......he's tested and trusted. For those who might be thinking the bolded above can be said of anybody, be assured I meant every letter of it. I never knew this man safe for this thread when I transferred my hard earned Naira to his Naija account in exchange for AUD to settle the bill for my EA application. He did not only match me to an Aussie resident wanting to exchange AUD for Naira at the time, he also offered to return the #5000 left for him by the third party as "fee" back to me, in fact I had to beg him to keep it ni......Heaven knows the number people he has selflessly helped in a similar way. Put some likes here if you trust Bellong is a role model to responsible Nigeria youths. |
funkyjo:It's actually 36months before ITA not 12months |
praiseisgood:Try upload all required document and fill necessary info, give your login details to your friend who will then use their card to pay on your behalf. Both of you can deliberate on paying back afterwards. |
bellong:Sound advice!......Please be patient sister, don't be guided by desperation. |
lalaazo:Both are accepted for migration (at least for EA and DIBP that I know), many just settle for general as it seems simpler......above might be misleading for newbies. |
catchdwind4rmkd:Congratz man! |
Alphadoor:I submitted 190 EOI on 18/02/2017 (60pts including 5pts from NSW nomination). I was queued until I canceled it on 15/03/2015 after receiving 189 ITA (65pt, DOE 3/3/2017). Hope that helps. |
Rett0:i goofed be that o........mijac please take note. |
Mijac:You are fine to nominate any Engineering Occupation as an Engineering Technologist or Professional........in my own case, I was assessed as a professional Engr and I nominated Telecoms Network Engr. |
mctowel01:My Oga am not sure o. But I know his HAP could have returned with more test items rather than the regular medical check and HIV if he had answered yes to TB. Now IOM will report the TB issue and the panel or CO will most likely call for additional tests. I think teejah80's concern is not about CO's contact but if the inconsistency can lead to refusal. @teejah80 just download the form and correct the info stating that you filled the online form on behalf of your husband and made a wrong assumption ni. |
Teejah80:Since you've lodged, try download the info correction form and upload on your immi portal........my opinion. Lemme see if I can send a link to you. Glad to see the face behind teejah80 yesterday. |
chebyshev:I experienced same, it's normal.......you can call them to confirm the fast track though. |
Rett0:Thanks madam. |
Congrats to mctowel01 n all those who got ITA yesterday. I got CO contact last week requesting for medicals and and wife's PCC from SUDAN (she had her MBBS from their). We've booked medical for Thursday at IOM. Real concern is Sudanese PCC. We have to convince CO that we have tried all possible means to no avail before they can wave the requirement. Below are our efforts so far; 1. While DIBP is silent on how to obtain a Sudanese pcc, I got a clue from Canadian immigration website that one can get it through their local embassy. So in January my wife submitted her finger print at Alagbon, they signed it and we presented it along with other documents to the Sudanese embassy in Abuja, they were supposed to post the documents to the Sudanese interior ministry and come back with the pcc. Unfortunately, the embassy recently told us they couldn't obtain the pcc for us as it's only issued to Sudanese residents on ground in Sudan. The fact is even if she travels down she might still not be able to obtain the pcc as she will be travelling as a visitor and not a resident. I'm still trying to figure out how to prove we made this effort to the CO. 2. We got the contact of a student ambassador in another Sudanese uni, he helped us contact the Interpol through their student union. They requested the same documents as the embassy and also came back with the same story as the embassy. I lastly asked if he could help us get a Sudanese Court document in place of pcc just to show my wife was never arrested, convicted nor linked to any criminal activity during her study period, he's yet to reply. We have email conversation on this and can share with CO. 3. As advised by DIBP, if a country is not listed on the PCC guideline on the immigration website one should contact the nearest Australian embassy for further advice, so I emailed Pretoria for advice on how to obtain pcc from SUDAN. Alas! they referred me back to gsm Adelaide (the CO itself) for guidance. Mail trail is available to be shared with the CO. 4. I searched on line and got some email addresses related to Sudanese embassy (couldnt find internet presence for their police or interior ministry), I sent email to those addresses explaining our challenge. But non of the emails delivered. I also have the trail and can share with CO. 5. We will be heading to a court in Lagos tomorrow to obtain a sworn affidavit declaring she was of good behaviour during her stay in Sudan. I plan to add this to my reply to CO. Thanks to bellong an Jamson for this suggestions. Thanks if you read to this line! Please I need advice of everyone in the house regarding further strategies I can try either to obtain the pcc or to further convince the CO that we have tried all possible means to no avail and the requirement should be waived. Deadline to reply CO is 6th of May. |
mamajaz:Congratz Mama! Smooth processes ahead. |
funkyjo:Congrats ma'am.....go their and conquer! |

EngrEngr:You applied for a remark and still used the same inconclusive result for EA............how does that work bro, or am I not reading well ni? |
Rett0:Thanks Madam........trust EA is cooperating with Oga's review. |
Hello House, I'm suspecting a foul play from GTB during my visa payment. I did the transaction from a dollar card since 28th March. DIBP recieved the money just yesterday(all the while the deduction has been in booked balance on the card). When I asked them for breakdown as the amount they deducted was outrageous, they claimed they used USD<<AUD rate of 1.26 (calling it CBN rate, I'm still wondering what CBN got to do with AUD<<USD transaction from card). Please has anyone in the house made any payment in AUD with dollar card recently? What was the rate used to debit you? I have been monitoring XE.com for close to a month now and the rate has never gone significantly below 1.3222, so am wondering where GTB got 1.26 rate from. With the crazy rate of 1.26, I lost close to 250USD (almost 100K). May be I need to go do "weyrey" for them! |
iykedancastro:Not counted, it was why I had to add NYSC (named it internship). |
iykedancastro:I never knew they check salaries against industry rate. Is there a way you can create a narrative that your experience in that company is internship (i don't know if there a limit to the number of internship years though) Like in my case; In left NYSC in 2011 and started work immediately, meanwhile I did MSc between 2013-2014 (so I took a gap year from work as I had to travel out). Fast-forward to 2016, my total experience was around 4 yrs and I needed 5yrs to claim 10pt. What did I do? I added my NYSC experience and called it internship and EA counted it as part of my experience making it 5yrs+. |
Folatem:Your are right, that was me and probably Retto. |
