padie77: Got a refusal on Nov 28th
Application submitted - - November 15th Biometrics collection letter --November 16th Biometrics date -- November 21th Biometric completed--November 21th No info about medical Going for a year PGD course at Geogian college School Resumption date - May 2023
Refusal reason-- Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel for yourself (and any accompanying family)
I submitted POF of 20m, Inflow outflow of 40m
What could be wrong? So sorry about the refusal, good thing it came in quick so they don’t keep wasting time and still refuse. Did you make tuition deposit? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Pace6: 5:44pm On Nov 29, 2022 |
chigozieevans: I think it's very possible for a particular school to request for a tuition deposit for as low as $500 CAD.
For example, University of Calgary requested a $500 CAD as tuition deposit from me for a September 2023 program. The only problem is that there application fee is kinda expensive though. Yes it is very possible but that’s with universities and community colleges, I stand to be corrected. And when asked to pay $500 do you pay less? In his case he asked if it was possible to pay less than the $8k for tuition deposit. I know of Durham because I’m a student too that was why I said to him I don’t think Durham will request for $500 for tuition deposit. And by the way, that’s their administrative fee when one requests for a refund. Peace |

Olayinkaji: I have up to December 31 Wow! That’s a short period, my advice! Initiate the payment via CBN portal, take a screenshot and write to international admissions office, ask them to please extend time to make payment that it takes long for your home country financial institution to process the transaction. This was what I did for mine tho... |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Pace6: 10:19am On Nov 29, 2022 |
johnstan: Yes, the application portal has a portion where you disclose any previous visa refusals. I thought he said travel experience and not visa refusal? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Pace6: 10:15am On Nov 29, 2022 |
Olayinkaji: Good day House, Thank you for the advice so far. Please I need a suggestion. I was just given admission to Durham College but was told to pay the sum of 8k CAD to secure my seat. Is it possible to use only the LOA without paying to apply for a student visa? Or if I am to pay the fees? Please what is the cheapest rate can I find now? Flywire is charging around 640$/N1.
Please help me ooo. According to their website, I actually thought the tuition deposit for Durham was $500. You can’t pay less than what you have been required to pay as deposit to secure your seat. How long do you have until expiration to make the deposit? And I’m not sure you saw it correctly that tuition deposit is $500, maybe you saw tuition refund will be less $500 administrative fee. If it’s up to 2-3 months, you can try applying through form A which will be charged based on CBN rate. Good luck |
Travel › Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Pace6: 10:12am On Nov 29, 2022 |
danherb: Thanks @Johnstan. Is there any place to fill in travel experience in Canadian visa application form? If none, my fear is addressed. Not at all. When asked if you have been denied or requested to leave Canada and it’s territory before, just say yes. A column will be provided for you to state the reason, just state it and also mention the year. Good luck. |

Enddystar: A friend just received this hot breakfast today.
She submitted her application by herself and now regretting why she didn't opt in for an agent.
She said she called an agent afterwards who told her to pay N1m to help her get approval.
Dear house, kindly advise Sorry about her delay. Useless agent, 1m ko, 1bn ni. Thief First let her order GCMS to know what’s up, if her start date is January or May, she should try deferring to September 2023 to allow her have more time to tackle VO’s concerns and refire. Good luck to her |

sudo1986: Thank you very much for your response, I really appreciate it. I dont know if there is any guide out there for the process. Though I have filled the form appropriately, but I thought there should be a guide out there that can show what to do at appropriate time, especially about the documents to upload.
Also, in IMM1294E, there is something like UCI, what should someone put there?
Furthermore, in the supporting documents, the following documents are losted....
- Passport (I understand that I am to upload all the pages in my international passport) - General Education and Employment form - Proof of means of Financial Support (does that mean I have to merge my statement of accounts with the funding provided by the school in a single PDF? We can only upload one file here. - Digital Photo - Family information ( Can I add the family photo, including wedding pictures, naming ceremony pictures, and all sort of useful pictures to this PDF before submitting? - Letter of Acceptance from the school - IMM5257 - Client Information ( Please what do I need to include here?)
Thank you very much for your responses once again. It is until you must have submitted your application as a first time applicant and done biometrics before your have UCI. Since you’re not a second time applicant, you should ignore. |

First time applicant. All the information I sourced was from this thread. I am coming bank to drop my full timeline.
August 4th applicant - I did everything myself.
In the meantime, how long does it take for passport to be returned after submission. I really need to get my stamped passport in less than a week. Congratulations Where did you do your biometrics? I’m not sure it can be done within a week with the slow stamping time due to security alert raised in Abuja. Well nothing is impossible, you have to submit first. |
