Why should the Nigerian doctors earn the Same amount as Doctors in the UK?
Can a Nigerian doctor pay one 1thousand Pounds for a small 2 Bed rooms flat in a month in Nigeria?
You earn according to your standard of living. Stop comparing
So what Nigerian doctors are earning here is according to their standard of living?
How much is a 2 bed room flat in V.I in Lagos,Maitama in Abuja per month and how much is residence doctors starting salary per month?
You people should stop this kind mentality.

Let me sweeten this by adding this from Gemini AI

Training a doctor in Nigeria is significantly cheaper than in the UK due to government subsidies. In Nigeria, medical school tuition can range from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand, while UK citizens pay substantial tuition fees and taxpayers cover additional costs, according to a University World News article.
In Nigeria:
Public Universities: Tuition fees are heavily subsidized, with students potentially paying less than $500 for a medical degree.
Private Universities: Tuition fees can range from $6,516 to $10,860 per year or session.
Additional Costs: Besides tuition, students also need to factor in living expenses, books, and other associated costs.
In the UK:
Tuition Fees:
UK citizens pay about £9,250 per year in tuition fees, which is a substantial amount.
Taxpayer Support:
The UK government also provides funding for medical education, with an additional cost of £286,347 borne by taxpayers for medical training.
Student Loans:
Many students also rely on student loans to cover tuition and living expenses.
Additional Costs:
Besides tuition, students also need to factor in living expenses, books, and other associated costs.

We know most of them attend public university, and they will come back and tell us they are getting nothing from the govt
You have defeated yourself in your own argument.
You rightly said that some medical students in Nigeria private universities can pay up to ten thousand dollars per session.
I hope you know what that means in naira?
Then such a person will come out and work in the government hospital and be earning 200 dollar monthly salary.
200 dollar multiply by 12=$2400.
Then compare $2,400 annual income to the $10,000 annual school fees they paid, you will know that you and the government are killing the dreams of people children in that sector.

Since you want to do comparison, you said a UK medical student pays about 9,200 pounds school fees per session.
Then when employed upon graduation,he earns 3,000 pounds per month salary.
3k pounds times 12=36k pounds per anum.
36k pounds -9,200 pounds school fees=26,800.

Then compare the 26,800 pounds gain positive returns in investment in medical education in UK to Nigeria -7600 dollar negative return of investment in medical education.
It is then that you will know that you people are supporting slavery in Nigeria medical system.

Do you know how much it cost to train doctors in the countries you listed above?
Spare me this rhetoric.
Do you also know how much it cost to train a doctor in Nigeria universities in the context of our economy?
Nobody is asking Ngn government to pay the same salary with those countries listed above.
But at least something commensurate with the nature of their profession.
After all the listed countries are not paying the same, but what they paid is enough to live a decent life in their country.
You don't carry 150k or 200k and paid to a doctor and expect him to pay a 2 bed room flat in Abuja,Lagos,Owerri,Uyo,PH,Calabar, etc. and feed only himself/herself comfortably in this FG induced economy hardship.
I don't even mean those with family. Those doctors that are singles that I'm talking about.
Can they survive with 200k in 30 days in today's Nigeria?
So Nigeria is not big or rich enough to start doctors with 1 million naira salary?
Will heaven fall if they do that as a starting salary?

Why do people always compare Nigerian professionals (especially doctors) to those in foreign countries?

Do we use Euros, Pounds, or Dollars in Nigeria? Why not compare the cost of medical school fees in those countries to what is paid here?
A starting salary of ₦400,000 in Nigeria isn’t bad at all when you consider our minimum wage. Why all this focus on doctors as if medicine is the only profession where pay is lower compared to overseas counterparts?

Abeg, make una let us hear word about all dis doctors mata, nobi only doctors de country dey affect.
Which state in Nigeria paid a newly recruited doctor up to 400k in government owned hospital?
Mention the state let me hear.

Soon, currency converters will jump in to "prove" how Nigerian doctors are suffering, conveniently forgetting that Nigerian doctors didn’t pay their tuition in dollars or pounds.
So the lawmakers that earn close to 40 million naira monthly and a whooping 2bn for imaginary constituency project allowance paid their school fees in dollars or pounds?
Convert 30 something million naira to dollar and 2bn to dollar, then ask that question you were asking again.
Compare that amount to doctor's 150k a month salary. Then tell us which currency the lawmakers paid their school fees with that made them to go home with a 3 Ghana -must-Go bag monthly salary and which currency the medical students paid their fees with that make them to go home with a paltry 150k stipend as monthly salary.

This life self no balance, doctor go tell u say too much of sugar is dangerous to the body and the same doctor go still talk say low sugar in the body is bad.

Which way pls.
That's why there's a phenomenon in the medical field known as HOMEOSTASIS.
That's a situation whereby every substance in your body MUST be at a steady and a fairly constant level.

No substance should be too high nor too low...else,wahala don come fast fast.
A sound and a healthy body has organs (homeostatic organs) that keeps everything in our bodies balanced.

No, that man is an epitome of performance. The system is not perfect and now, we have seen the weakness of the CBT Examination system.

We must not jettison the CBT examination system but we must prepare for better administration of the CBT examination system going forward to mitigate against the possible challenges.

Opportunity must continually be given to students whom the CBT examination system malfunction impede to automatically qualify for a resit within the examination window.

There should be no refund but an opportunity to retake the examination for those students who were affected by the glitch or malfunction.

I respect Prof. Oloyede for taking, on behalf of JAMB, responsibility for the failure of JAMB to ensure seamless CBT examination system.
What's the guarantee that the same glitches will not occur again during the re-sit?

I wonder why somebody like IBB is still being worship by many Nigerians instead of being behind bars.
Look at the confessions Lamido said he made to him.
So because of fear of Abiola taking his 45bn naira debt if he becomes the president, you cancelled the election that you admitted he won fairly and truncated democracy thereby bringing Nigeria to her knees till this day?
And people like this are still being given podium to speak about the state of the nation in public events.
What lessons do they want us the youths to derive from his speeches?
To learn how to cancel elections and undermine democratic rules and good governance?
Politics › Re: Lamido And I Would Have Challenged Tinubu If We Were Governors – Amaechi (Video) by Pacesetter123(m): 11:09am On May 14, 2025
You are saying the fact.I have never seen a set of governors that are as weak and fearful as the ones under PMB and PBAT regime.
The governors under OBJ and GEJ were very strong, mature and fearless of the president.
Talk of Obong Victor Attah of Akwa Ibom,Amed Markarafi of Kaduna,Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia,Chief Diepreye of Bayelsa,Bola Tinubu of Lagos, etc. They put some of OBJ's excesses in checked. Then Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers,Babangida Muazu of Niger,Tanko Almakura of Nassarawa. They stood up against some of the unfavorable policies of GEJ led government.
But during PMB, uwayayayaaa.. nobody.
Maybe Fayose of Ekiti and Nyesom Wike of Rivers try a very little against PMB.But they were not in the class of the ones I mentioned earlier.
Then during PBAT,uwooooooh....all of them are answering "yes sir" to every policy whether good or bad.
Ezekiel Bala wanted to try a little initially but noticed that he is a lone voice in the forum,he quickly back down and surrender.

Let's make sense of this.

INEC is prosecuting the professor for announcing fake results in support of Akpabio. Results which gave Akpabio victory and a senate seat. Yet the same INEC gave Akpabio a certificate of return. How does this make sense? Why was Akpabio's election not invalidated?

Secondly, do not pity any professor or indeed any member of ASUU. They are behind every rigging of elections in Nigeria. I have personally witnessed these professors and university staff change the results of a governorship election. This happened in the head collation centre located in a federal university. They were so blatant and unafraid.

Despite the presented evidence of rigging and massive allocations of votes, the supreme court still gave the sitting governor the election. That's when I gave up on our judiciary.
No,it was not that election that gave him the Senate president's seat.It was 2023 election that gave him the seat.
The election this man was convicted of rigging for him in 2019,he didn't win that election.
The man announced two local government for him while his opponent,Dr Chris Ekpeyong won the remaining 8 L.G.A.
It was after that election he failed that president Buhari appointed him as a minister for Niger Delta.

So be corrected.
