Politics › Re: Prof Nwosu Died Without Confessing, He Can’t Be Rewarded – Oshiomhole by Pacesetter123(m): 8:27am On Mar 28, 2025
Asonaijaaso:
Humphrey Nwosu is No Hero – Let’s Be Honest

Honoring Humphrey Nwosu in the same breath as MKO Abiola is an insult to history.

After Abacha died, MKO Abiola died—a clear signal that forces beyond Nwosu were at play. But in moments where great men stand up to cement their legacy, Nwosu remained silent.

He had one duty: affirm that MKO won fair and square. He didn’t.

Why?
• Fear of IBB? Maybe.
• Pressure from the military? Likely.
• But history only remembers the bold, not the cautious.

Compare Him to True Heroes

Today, we have INEC commissioners risking their lives to declare results under threats, some even at gunpoint, yet standing firm.
• Some have lost their lives for announcing the rightful winners.
• Nwosu had none of that courage.

Senator Abaribe’s Calls for Immortalization? Nothing to See Here.

He was just a civil servant. He did his job—but nothing extra.
• He didn’t fight for justice.
• He didn’t push against the annulment.
• He didn’t defend the mandate of the people.

Greatness is defined by what you do when it matters most.

Humphrey Nwosu is no hero.
He was just a bureaucrat who stayed within the lines.
IBB and his boys were so mean..oo!
Anyhow you look at it,Prof Nwosu really try his best. This thing is not as easy as you and Oshomole think.Imagine you being surrounded by IBB military boys who only hear GO without hearing COME asking you at gunpoint not to announce the remaining states again.
If you were him, what will you do?

Even at that, the man still managed to publish the remaining states results on the board at the national collation center and called a pool of journalists to cover it which they all published the entire results of the 30 states of the federation in their different news outlets before he finally escaped for his dear life.

That's why earlier this year, when IBB published his so called book of history, the full results of that election prepared by Nwosu were flying around in every media space.
Infact,it was his courage to even publish the whole results that made Abiola himself and other Nigerians know he won the election.

Yes,he couldn't make official declaration of the results because of how brutal and terrible the then military regime was,but at least,he mustered courage to do a publication of the full results for the press and the entire country to know the winner.
So the man deserves his flower.

You said he was an ordinary civil servant doing his normal job. That he didn't do anything extraordinary to deserve recognition.
So tell me,the IBB that annulled the election, what did he do extraordinary that he now got immortalized?
Was the annulment an extraordinary thing you are talking about?

Also, the tyrant called Abacha that arrested and jailed MKO that won the election until he died in his custody which has been immortalized today, what extraordinary thing did he do during that election?
Arresting and jailing the winner and truncating democracy is now extraordinary thing deserving immortalization that result publication by Nwosu even at gunpoint?

You and Adam are displaying double standards as far as this sensitive issue of June 12 is concerned.

You people should have spoken strongly just as you are doing to Nwosu now against the naming of any critical infrastructure after Abacha and IBB because of the ignoble roles they played as far as the June 12 saga is concerned.
But no, you and Adams Oshomole kept quiet when some national assets were used to immortalized the two military despots.

It is no surprise that you worship the visionless spendthrift military guys
who enjoyed massive oil boom but could not deliver any nationwide essential
infrastructure.[/quote]Nationwide essential infrastructure like what that they couldn't deliver, Sir?
Is it road infrastructure?
Tertiary hospitals?
Refineries?
Railways?
National Air Carrier?
Universities and other specialized Institutions of higher learning?
Housing?
Bridges?
Pipe borne water?
Hydro -Electric Dams?

All these are nationwide essential infrastructures you are talking about which the military provided.
Even if I wasn't born to see when most of those critical infrastructures were built by the military, but at least, I have now opened eyes to come and see most of them still standing till today.

Now tell us,which nationwide essential infrastructure that democratic government since 1999 till date have built with the oil boom which the military didn't build?

No one is dragged to the court if you don't want to, so what the cacophony from the religious fanatical Christians in Nigeria?
The court is for those that want to settle their issues in a Muslim way.
I'm Muslim and I don't see myself going to such courts unless it's for minor family matters.
The fanactism of Christians in Nigeria is unbecoming, they want everything their way. The regular courts that we have now are based on judeo Christian ways, not everyone wants that.

He was arrested after his wife allegedly used pages of the Quran as toilet paper for her baby. Their action was based on an allegation that the said victim was accused of insulting the Holy Prophet Mohammad (SAW). Abdullahi Ada and his co-accused got the man arrested and took him to a place on the outskirt of the village. There, one of the first struck him with a cutlass on the head. The man fell down and with a knife, one the accused persons slaughtered the man by cutting his throat while the others held him down and it was when they were sure that the man had died that they abandoned the corpse and dispersed. The Supreme Court in Lagos, Nigeria, confirmed the death sentence of Abdullahi Ada.

The rampage began after an article in a daily newspaper, Thisday, suggested that Mohammed would have approved of a Miss World pageant that was taking place in Abuja. Thisday columnist Isioma Daniel wrote that Mohammed would probably have taken a wife from among the contestants. Muslim mobs accused the newspaper of blasphemy and burned down its office building in Kaduna. Then the mobs attacked churches and properties owned by Christians. Christian mobs confronted the Muslim mobs. Soldiers and police intervened. About two hundred and fifty people died. Isioma Daniel fled Nigeria ahead of a fatwa that called upon Muslims to kill her.

Lol. Abaribe has been in the Senate since 2007, that is for the past 18years. His only achievement in politics have been staging walkouts, defending Lamidi Kanu, fooling people about marginalization, and impeachment twice as deputy governor and almost a third time in 2003. As he was facing his third impeachment, he resigned on 7 March 2003, sending his resignation via DHL so as to have written record of it. The House of Assembly formally voted him out of office several days later, in a move Abaribe called "medicine after death". These are the kind of useless people that would come out for national positions like that lambarian and be hailed by tribally deceived minds.
Of all the important thing s in the country, his aim in life now is to immortalize a dead man Nwosu, SMH.
You are talking trash!
What do you mean by impeachment twice and the third one ,he resigned? Any public official that has been impeached once cannot hold a public office again not to talk of twice, thrice as a deputy governor as you claimed and he is a senator now.

Besides, how is moving a motion to recognize a patriotic Nigerian for his selfless service to the nation a new or a bad thing?
Even IBB that annulled the election and Abacha that imprisoned MKO till his death are immortalized by naming some national assets such institution of higher learning and a stadium after them. You were still in this country, you didn't see anything wrong in that.
Now that somebody is asking for the same thing to be done for someone who against all odds, defied military threat of that era and published the results of the election in defense of democracy, you suddenly remember he is a dead man and are talking from left to right. Is Abacha not a dead man,is MKO himself not a dead man? Why are they immortalizing them without any feud?
This is a national issue, some of you should try and leave tribalism out of it.

You guys are also a problem in this matter aside from Akpabio and this woman.
So bcuz of omission of little thing like home address or phone number, the merits of other things in the petition that meet up the requirements should be thrown out just like that?

You said it's not INEC position to tell the petitioners how the petition should like, right?
So was it the Senate position to tell Natasha how a petition to the Senate Ethics committee should look like when they corrected her and asked her to go and work on it and re-submit which she did?
If the Senate was to act based on your advice and dismiss her entire petition simply because of a little error of she signing the petition herself, would you have said what you are saying now in the case of INEC?
