Pro's in the house
lets say you technically have 100k per month to invest in stocks
what strategy is best

buying multiple stocks and increasing them gradually each month
or focus on a single stock per month?

Some registrars are doing great job while others are almost useless. The registrars for GSK did same to me. I no submit any form yet my money came.

Cardinalstone on the other hand, to me are one of those not doing good job. Example is my totalenergies that was mandated and I had been getting dividends for years only for them to withold my dividends from two years ago requesting that I resubmit dividend mandate forms. Even after that, they still have not paid for since then.

I don kumuma arrange small law suit for them with some reasonable claims for damages. I go give them headache early january.

At 1.2 billion barrels in reserve, even if Oando achieves and maintains 100,000 barrels per day production, it will take roughly 33 years to exhaust it. In my opinion, it is cheap at the current price despite the latest $950 million loan (by the way, the cost of the new acquisition is $783 million; what did Oando do with the remaining $167 million?).

I read the latest publication of "Frankly Speaking" by Dele Sobowale in Vanguard, which claimed that a refinery is a bad investment for Dangote because crude oil is a dying business. That is very wrong. Even if the West manages to reduce dependence on refined fuel, they still need plastics, machine oils, and other byproducts of refineries. I also think that refined petrol and diesel are keeping plastics and other byproducts cheaper; once petrol is of no use, plastic and other products will become more expensive as they will be the main reason for the business.

On a side note, Africa will take much longer to adopt this new technology. I see Mack trucks and cars that are more than 20 years old; in fact, these make up more than 60% of vehicles on the road today. In conclusion, oil and gas refining will still be big business 30 years from now.

grin shocked shocked shocked
Your point is valid. O&G wilI remain big business here especially because of its byproducts.
By the way, I think you meant 'Sobowale on Business', the Monday column. 'Frankly Speaking' appears on Sundays.

Hello everyone I'm new to stocks, I recently purchased some units of zenith bank shares and was told I'll be issued a certificate I honestly want to know if i decide to sell in the future how can I go about it with just the shares cert.
You won’t be issued any paper certificates. That’s old school. Discuss with the stockbroker or ‘agent’ that helped you to purchase the shares on the way forward.

Brethren @SonofElElyonRet and @Streetinvestor2, please bury this hatchet.

All this back and forth won't make any of us better people financially and otherwise.

We are all responsible for our decisions in this market.

No one is obliged to accept advice given here and no one is obliged to give advice and feel bad if it is not accepted.

We are not here to spite ourselves but to make more money in this tough economy.

We all have our temperaments and should try to adapt to one another. If anyone doesn't like any one's post - 'jump and pass' - unless you see genuine danger and need to warn other members of this group. And this can be done in good faith.

Same here. I sent an email today to customercare@veritasregistrars.com but it 'bounced back'.

I then sent an email to enquiry@veritasregistrars.com but there has been no acknowledgment of receipt.

Same thing happened to me with the 2023 dividend payment but the email I sent to their customer care was replied and the dividend paid within a week or so.

The whole OS is barely 1.2bn even with the bonus inclusive...
66.14% of it belongs to substantial, Directors and influential shareholders while,
33.86% is for free float.

In my opinion, lot's of patience is the key here.
Let's allow the itchy fingers dump finish if they choose to, then the patient ones should wait for the company's next move.
* Any dumping/fall will be an opportunity to pick more.

Q2 2024 Shareholding structure of 253million OS before bonus addition attached.

I agree with @Zagee

Sometimes, it just doesn’t make sense.

Heard that they are collaborating with a foreign firm to use electric motors/vehicles for their water transportation venture, but how profitable could that be?

I wanted to purchase First Bank shares but after reading back and forth arguments about Oba Otedeko and Otedola fight over the control of First Bank on this thread I became scared to buy it. Though their arguments and counter arguments are well grounded.

My gut and inner chi said to me, forget these arguments.. buy the stock.. I bought First Bank shares eventually... Today it has delivered almost 50% ROI in less than 45days.

These days, I lookout for a company last financial report and if good and the stock is undervalue... I just enter. Same thing I did with NASCON several weeks back.
I missed the FBNH bus because of AP. I didn't follow my gut instincts (Chinazo grin ) but placed a bid for #22, not knowing it could still 'jump' from #24.

Like you said earlier, the Caverton result was not inspiring; so when I placed the order and did not succeed I moved on to other stock.

Luckily, I didn't miss NASCON

Yours is even better bro. I bought it long ago, and when it didn't move as expected especially after their last result which wasn't so good. I sold it, only for it to start making 9% for four days running, a day after I sold.

I started forgiving myself only yesterday....

Self-forgiveness dey help well well o, especially when you realize that some others here have stated how they lost massive 'potential' gains e.g. Transcorp, Oando, etc. Keep moving smiley

So it is still rumor but with the equity related transaction that concerns FMN and what I’m hearing they’re planning to do at completion of the exercise, it will definitely affect HONEY due to the significant stake. They are doing a consolidation. FMN had a predetermined price of about #70, but with recent share price appreciation and activity I believe that will now be revised upwards, to the displeasure of the people at FMN. With regards a target price for HONEY I am still unaware of the happenings there. Will drop more info as it becomes available
