Lana1: "he called on the club to spend money on better players".
Do we need to spoonfeed you on what this means?
I wonder why the rules is always different for Ole compared to other managers.
We didn't hear Pep come out to publicly beg Sheikh Mansour to buy him Ake and Torres.
Lampard didn't make any announcements of the particular players he needed.
But Ole must make a detailed Twitter thread of the players on his transfer list.
It's ok. We go dey alright las las. Surely Ole will have a list but my point is why will a club like United be "deliberating and monitoring" whether to sign a player at the end of August? it does beg the question if ole actually submitted a transfer list A club is "deliberating, monitoring, interested in" those are the words associated with United's transfer. Apart from sancho which is clearly visible to the blind, which other players can anyone point to that United is interested in buying, if they are on the transfer list why hasn't United bought any of them? These questions raised I'm not categorically saying Ole doesn't have a transfer list. |

But Ole don't have any transfer list and he's clueless... I still can't find any list there |

afrodoc2: Imagine monitoring a player and deciding at the end of August? An international that has been playing Champions League for the last few years is who they are just monitoring? A player whose club CEO is your ex-player.
These people are not serious. Asin! Apart from sancho we don't have identified targets, no wonder the club is struggling to bring in players cos they don't know who they want. |

CapitalCee: Man utd are monitoring Ajax Donny Van de Beek. They have asked the agent to update them of the situation, to decide if they will consider making a move for him. The player is said to be valued at €40m. Shows the club doesn't have a clear direction in the transfer market, na anywhere belle face. Serious clubs would have identified their targets since and won't be deliberating whether to make a move during the transfer window. All is well |

Nezzjnr: This Guy is a clown
I thought he got Di Maria... Falcao and some nice players
How did he utilize them Maybe he is a clown maybe not but let's analyse his signings, In his first season United signed 3 left backs shaw, blind, Rojo, signed Di maria well that didn't work due to certain off field issues. Signed Falcao on loan who just returned from a nasty knee injury Falcao was never the main striker but a back up to Rooney and RVP, come on even Chelsea signed Falcao the following season and he didn't perform. Ander good signing maybe he didn't fit into his philosophy, remember Ander and luke shaw were signed before Van gaal was appointed. The following season we signed an aging Schweinsteiger, Depay, Schneiderlin and martial, the latter who he said was for the future manager. Van gaal had his faults so did Woodward. That's why I laugh when people say united spent money, yes we do but on low quality for astronomical fee. Compare United's signing with City there is a big difference. |

eph12: Sancho is worth it yes, but is the board willing to pay that much for one player now? That's the question. In fact are they willing to pay anything for anybody? I don't think so why then bid for the player when you know you can't afford him? |

I rather we keep silent than getting link with every tom and jerry.
It's sickening !!
As for shekpe fc.. They can sign whoever they deem fit, ain't our business one bit. This is ain't the first time they've done this ...
Ed ain't our problem, it's the Glazer's that are trying to pinch pocket. Ed can't release funds if he ain't asked. Mat Judge does the negotiations. Speaking of Mat Judge the man actually does the job of a sporting director, in charge of negotiation, calls agent of players when they want to extend a player's contract, and he is Ed's right hand man, I don't see United getting any sporting director or football director soon. |

lekkie073: this makes a whole lot of sense. Greenwood is a bright prospect. What he needs presently is not someone that will come and shut him out permanently but someone that will complement his efforts. It's only in England you hear things like "block ones progress" Greenwood isn't a winger ole is even blocking his progress if he keeps playing him on the right. just like the way Robben blocked Gnabry's progress abi |

nitrogen: Opata yarns full this thread sha. It was a leveraged acquisition/buyout. (see details here https://www.comcapfactoring.com/blog/what-is-an-lbo-how-does-it-work/). LBO is good as it aids prudence. Meanwhile, shareholders still own the company, as long as you are generating sufficient cashflows to service your debt, residual income/cash comes to the shareholders.
Current standing (re: the debt) is 500m pounds which is less than the cost of 2 Neymars. Infact, if you factor in existing cash of 90m pounds, then net debt is just a little above 400m. See https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200521005296/en/Manchester-United-PLC-Reports-Quarter-Fiscal-2020
Of course, they could have used half of the money spent on the club to pay down the debt, but they invested it in the business, so why is everyone saying that they ruined the club?
These guys are trying abeg. That doesn't explain anything it only explains the method of acquisition. Which still translates to hostile takeover. |
