Agriculture / Re: Cost Analysis/How To Setup Plantain Plantation In Nigeria With Pictures by papabaks(m): 9:31am On Dec 14, 2018
Good Morning guys. I so much love what I have read so far on this page. I must say you guys did an outstanding job.

Meanwhile, I will like to know on an average scale how much will it cost me to set up a two (2) hectares of plantain farm in Ogun state.

and how much will it cost me to acquire the processing tools like washer, slicer, fryer dryer and packaging into ships?

Thank you guys.

Travel / Re: TBS BRT Bus Station: First Time Experience During Rush Hour by papabaks(m): 6:07pm On Mar 01, 2018
Good observation, I'm sure the officials will look into this.

AutoReportNG:
Last week we asked if TBS Bus Station is the best in terms of structure, facilities, security etc and the answer we got is quite overwhelming. To some, it's a foolish question as there is no basis for comparison, and to some, they felt Ikeja BRT Bus Station stands close to it. We are at Muson Centre for an event and luckily, we closed during the rush hour and decided to take an assessment of our wonderful TBS BRT Bus station and what we see are these:

1. The buses were nowhere to be found, once it gets 3pm, its as if the buses went into hiding, we had a chat with one of the security as to what is keeping them and he said they were held up on Eko Bridge, Eko Bridge links from TBS to Costain in the mainland and from Costain up to Jibowu, Onipanu etc so they spend at least 45 to 50mins in traffic which causes the bus station to be full of people.

2. There are no official in charge to control the crowd
One would have thought that an official at least should ensure that the queue is maintained and the passengers are line orderly but it seems the officials got tired of standing and they decide to take a stroll

3. The ticketers were very rude
I don't know what to call this maybe they were overwhelmed due to the flock of people or maybe they are fasting or they are hungry, the manner at which some of these ticketers attend to people is below par as it seems they have found a clique to be rude to passengers. While we understand that people are difficult to please especially Lagosians, at least some decorum ought to be put in place to explain yourself and also made them understand you have no smaller denominations.

4. Refreshment
I noticed it was boldly written that sellers, hawkers were not allowed in the park but someone would have expected that an alternative will be provided, we stood for almost 30mins and yours truly was seriously hungry, we have no choice than to stroll out and get something outside the premises. In as much as we support the motion, those lock up kiosk should be open for business to cater for these needs.

5. Maintenance of the bus
While we give kudos to the operator of the fleet of the BRT for doing an excellent job in making sure the buses were always neat and also making sure passengers have a stress free journey, we felt its time they start thinking of ways to curb the water on the roof of the buses and this is a result of the AC in the bus, but apart from that they did well in that area.

Above all, we will rate them 70%

Health / Re: Lagos Emergency Response Works; Saved A Life - True Story by papabaks(m): 5:34pm On Aug 07, 2017
shyman:
About two weeks ago, my uncle was ambushed by robbers who left him for dead somewhere on the island... The good part is someone saw his condition and called Lagos emergency response at about 2pm "most people think they are a joke... Well, they ain't ".
They got to the location asap and applied first aid treatment then conveyed him to several clinics that turned him down until they got to LASUTH by 8pm. LASUTH admitted him and thankfully he survived..

I don't know who that good Samaritan was that made that call... The call that saved a life.. I say #ThankYou... Most people would have turned a blind eye... No one wants to get associated with a criminal case especially with the false stories of incriminating yourself circulating..
PS: toll free emergency number - 112

Another great thanks goes to the Medical Emergency team.... Those guys are wonderful.. They spent their whole day taking care of someone they don't know... While with him in the van, they were a source of hope.. With the bad experiences I've had with the medical sector.. I was shocked to my bones to see their conduct.
I wish I could put up their names and pictures... my heart is really filled with gratitude..

There are alot of negativity about our conduct as Nigerians and there have also been good reports which means there's hope.... We can redeem our image...

Lagos is working. Itesiwaju Ilu Eko Lojewalogun!!!

Federal Secretariat Ikoyi, Lagos Nigeria is currently a ghost of itself... shocked

Trees of all shapes and sizes seem to be competing for height with the abandoned 15-storey tower buildings which was once the heartbeat of the nation and the structure that gave Ikoyi its elitist tag. The Federal Secretariat, Ikoyi, Lagos home of Nigeria’s federal civil service when Lagos was a federal capital territory, majestically stands as a monument of waste.

Nairaland / General / Mmm Is Back!!! Big And Better! by papabaks(m): 12:51pm On Jan 13, 2017
grin :oWe are now open!!! )

Dear members,

The holidays are over, and we''re now open. Just as promised. (You might have already noticed that we always stick to our promises. ) Actually, we promised to be open on January 14, but we''re open now, January 13, as you can see, which is a day earlier. (Well, I hope, the members of the System will forgive us for that.

It''s related to the hysteria raised by the authorities and the mass media around MMM. By joining forces, they''ve managed to nearly give the members of the System a heart attack and have frightened them out of their wits. Poor souls don''t know what to expect. Will we open again or not?

This is why we''ve decided, considering the situation, to reach out to the members, reassure and cheer them up by opening a little earlier. After all, Together We Can Change The World!

Here we go.

1. As of this notice, MMM resumes its usual operation. You can now create your GH-requests.

2. However, it''s obvious that panic will reign in the first few days after the re-opening of the System. We’re likely to be deluged by GH-requests. Therefore, we''re going to make gradual paybacks by setting internal output limits. In other words, we will only pay a certain amount per day. Please, be prepared to wait for a couple of days. We are certain things will then calm down, and the System operation will return to normal.

We''re the ones setting the limits, so it''s completely under our control, and we are not expecting any emergencies in principle. Have no fear and go on about your business as usual.

As the System is socially oriented, we will make paybacks to the poor and the economically disadvantaged in the first place: it means to the members with small PH amounts. The richer can wait. Moreover, we''ve warned you repeatedly to only provide help with amounts that are not critical for you. Therefore, if these large amounts are not critical for them (the richer), they can wait a few days. No need to be tragic about it.

This is the way it''s going to be.

Hoping for your kind understanding, Sergey Mavrodi. We Change The World!

P. S. I''d like again to call on the authorities and the mass media: Please, leave us alone! Have mercy on people.

To reduce the work load of Kachikwu, he was relief of the possition so that the NNPC GMD can be reporting to the Minister of state.

Kachikwu still remain the Big Boss after President Buhari.

Why feed students that don't even have chair, tables, textbooks to study?
Why feed students that don't even have good school uniform to wear to school?
Why feed students that don't even have healthy school environment?
Why feed students that don't even have good roads to their schools?
Why feed students that don't even have good water to drink?
Why feed students that don't even have good library and Laboratories to learn?
Why feed students when their teachers are hungry and they are not ready to teach quality education?

There are a lot of thing that can better the life of these students, stuff like:
Creating good roads
Good Housing policy
Constant Electricity
Good water supplies
Good security for the citizens
Agricultural Aids to support the farmers
Making good laws that will protect these children

With my own experience, I think computer village is a very nice place to do business if only you know your way.

All you need is to get a good referrer and allow your referrer to handle the business deals for you, The point is He will help you to get good product and promise him or her that you will always check by next time. More so, once you're done try to tip him with some cash no matter how small it might be, That will put you on a good book when next you visit.

Remember they are also there to make money and network with people.

So, My advice is that if you don't know anybody in Computer Village, try to make contacts to know who knows who there.

NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ROADSIDE GUYS!!!

Some might even try to distract you by the gates, by slapping you on your shoulder and telling you that someone is calling you, PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER THEM, those are one of their TRICKS, just keep focus and keep going.

Else you might end up regretting listening to them.

All the best.
