I just started seeing these (image below) on my 5 month old rottweilers elbows. Never seen them on my previous dogs, they look like dead skin, probably due to scratches when he lies on the concrete floor. I am not sure! i called the vet and he looked at it and assured me its nothing. i am still not satisfied with his answer, hence my reaching out to you guys.

Is it normal?
Anyone with thesame issues?
How did you treat it, manage it?
Did it finally go away?

I once asked an elder and her response was that in this side of the world after defecating we use our left hand to wash our ass, it is unclean to use that same hand to give, take or greet someone. And besides in the west you dont see people shaking hands with their left hand.

That made sense to me, no religious or cultural reasons, just courtesy.

@Richybang u r so correct! I watched it on natgeo wild. The breed is called a whippet. Its a running dog, dey r usually very lean but this one was born with a muscle disorder dat blessed/ cursed her wit double d size of muscles. Not a scientific experiment.

@mex22, Dats a CO You have there. Its just a little bit under fed and not groomed. What many Nigerians who own CO's dont understand is that these dogs require alot of food high in protein and constant grooming to look really good.

awwwn cute rotti, and sorry for ur loss, i think i can remember dis gsd, u posted it some years bk or last year, if i can remember, u complained of ticks, i may be wrong just confusing certain people dogs together, is dt wat killed her?

Yep, u are right. I did complain of ticks, which was a non stop battle for me and her until her death. cant really say if its the ticks that killed her, she was on tick powder regularly and tick injections (These ticks are die hard though, even after fumigating the compound twice and all the medications), i swore never to own a hairy dog again! On the day she died i fed her and we played in the morning before going to work, only for me to return to her lifeless body under a tree with blood stained water from her mouth.

Didn't bother calling a vet, just buried her in the bushes. She was a great and fearless guardian, kept my family safe. This Rottweiler better live up to expectations. Cute pup you have there, Black GSD's are quite rare.
