This is a jazz artiste i've remembered first listening to way back in my late primary school (unbelievable?) days and his songs to me are still one of a kind till date. If you don't know who he is or any of his songs, never mind. But if you do, it tends to be all the way. Any fan out there, would love to hear from you. Regards

Can i use my bank statement which is domiciliary and saving account only.After paid my full school fees and 5 weeks rent paid in advance.I only have 500k left in my account,Can i just forget about my sponsor and use my account for VISA application this time around.Can i get a tenancy agreement from school.I will be glad if you can send a copy of YOUR SPREAD SHEET.
With regards to using your own accounts as evidence of ability to afford living expenses, i think you should be able to. In my case i didn't have the luxury of a sponsor so i had to use my personal accounts, also as i was being accompanied with family, even if i was able to get a 'sponsor' then, i was not quite sure how the story of a private sponsor willing to sponsor myself and family would sound with the bhc guys so i decided to do everything on my own account.

For the 5 weeks rent paid, i presume this is a private accomodation and that you have the tenancy agreement (or university letter indicating guaranteed acommodation if the place you have secured is a uni accomodation) as evidence of accomodation. However since only 5 weeks have been paid in advance, i reckon you'll still need to provide evidence of being able to afford the expenses for the rest of your study period. The 500k is roughly about 2k GBP so i'm not quite sure if it would be a good idea to tender this alone, except of course you have evidence of other income sources that would take care of the expenses. University would normally issue you with a tenancy agreement but might not be as extensive as for a private accomodation (not that this matters one bit though) and in most cases could be just a covering letter indicating that you have paid for and have a place reserve for you. In my case as i was being accompanied by child, the tenancy agreement requirements was much more explicit, requiring the agreement to indicate room sizes, exclusive use of a specified bedrooms etc. I don't think this is the case for a single student.

Really in my case, since i knew i was going to be covering my expenses personally, i had opened a dom account about over a year back and had regularly converted some of my income coming through my current account to GPB and depositing same in my dom account. My thinking is that even for a dom account, the source of funds still needs to be traced. Also all transactions i did with my university was from the dom account and all the records were reflected on the bank statement. It might be helpful if you could wait till the funds in your account can adequately cover your living expenses and sources are indicated.

I'll mail the spreadsheet shortly. Regards

please can anyone address this issue of gaps between going from one level of study to the other.It has always been a question they ask at the BHC, like a friend who had a gap of 12 years after his SSCE before he got an addmission to the university and after finishing he has secured a UK admission for his MSc, do you think this question will not come up in this my friend's case?as a matter of fact,my friend was working in all those 12 years
In my own case, i had a gap of about 11 years between now and my 1st degree. I explained that i have been in employment during this period and presented a letter from my employment detailing employment history and also professional IT certifications for about every year covering these period. Also my first degree was engr while my intended 2nd is in computing so i felt i needed to provide evidence that i've been working in IT since my 1st degree to clarify any questions on relevancy of 2nd degree course. In your case i'm not sure of the bhc guys perception as the gap is between secondary and 1st degree but i think providing carefully detailing activities (and providing solid evidence) between that period might help. @Poster
I went through the website www.southkoreanvisa.com and it does indeed promised all sorts about getting you into Korea and how the minimum rate you can get working is $1,000 monthly doing factory work, admin or teaching job. What the website does not indicate is if the visa you'll be getting would permit you to work and stay legally in Korea or are they are simply using the approach of 'we'll get you there on a visitor's visa and we'll guide you on how you can struggle your way and work underground to get legal'.

Like majority of similar posts offering that 'magical' way to get you into country 'x', my candid advice is, if S Korea is where you want to be, take time out and study their basic immigration requirements and laws very well. Know these requirements like the back of your hand, and if you do choose to employ the services as offered by agencies like "www.southkoreanvisa.com", you would be doing so from a very informed perspective and can ascertain if the offer makes any sense compared with what you've already taken time to find out.  My 2 cents. @paribus
please i will like to know if u paid for the tenancy agreement u included in your application.
Yes i did. Tenancy agreement is actually a legally binding document between the tenant and the landlord. For this document to have been signed by the tenant and landlord, it would mean the tenant have the legal right to occupy the indicated property for the stipulated period of time. This would only happen (in most cases i believe) on the payment of 1 month rent in advance and a deposit equivalent to 1 month rent). I doubt if you would get a tenancy agreement without this payment but then again you never know. Regards

Friends please help,
Where in lagos can i get a breif private 101% practical lecture on server configuration within one or two days and to be able to configure my office server which they said i must do or forget my job. please help i beg ooooo.
All along i have managing the network only without having much knowledge on how to configure the server.
because my company is runinng both Lan/wan.
just tell me all u know can help me.
God bless u.
I think you need to shed more light on your specific requirements. I'm trying to get my head round - "All along i have managing the network only without having much knowledge". What aspect of the network management have you been doing devoid of the knowledge of being able to configure the server. Ordinarily i would think the latter preceeds the former i.e you would in the first instance have some configuration competencies before being able to manage the same servers/network. Your answers to the following might be useful in providing recommendations for you:

What is your network setup - Operating systems, number of servers, type of cabling (patch panels, switches, routers etc), type of WAN connectivity, do you have a remote branch office(s) connected via WAN or is your WAN to the internet.

What portion of this network infrastructure are you directly responsible for. What does your day to day 'management of the network' involves.

VERY IMPORTANT - What 'server configuration tasks' are now being required by your company and can you give some brief background on how this requirements came to be. Hints - Anything related to  configuring the physical server hardware (maybe you're a proliant, poweredge or xseries shop), configuring some specific application server (exchange, sql, sms) or configuring the server os (AD, RIS, DHCP, RRAS, Clustering, DFS, CA, NLB etc)?

The information you provide would be helpful in better understanding your predicament.

As a short term solution, i think you would be better of with the smaller training schools or individuals (with a decent home network equipment kit) that can rush you through a 24-hr server config programme. For the larger training schools, i'm not quite sure if bureaucracy would allow you to get the needed attention in a short time - considering your desperate situation - might be wrong though, just my 2cents. And your situtation should be an eye opener for you as well - go to computer village, i'm sure you can get a decent p3 desktop for 10/15k, get about 2/3 of these and set up your own network. You'll be amazed at what you can learn (and how fast) with such set up.

@other posters
While the situation of the poster might not exactly encourage any pity, i don't think he should be crucified. Havent we see enough of paper mcses and how they drown fast on the job role (not saying this is what the poster is). I think it doesn't cost anything to always help such folks out especially if they 'learn' from the process. Regards
ComputersRe: How Can I Use My Computer As A Router by paribus(m): 3:33pm On Oct 07, 2007
@Poster

You heard right. Your computer could definitely be use as a router. How  you achieve this depends on your routing requirements. In the very simplest form, your computer might already be working as a router (an internet router) if you have ICS enabled to share your internet connection with other computers on the LAN.

However in the more traidtional router sense, you would need a minimum of two NICs, (more depending of the number of networks this computer would be directly connected to) and you'll need to run Windows 2000, 2003 server or a linux flavour (installed in the server mode). All these OS enables you to configure the traditional routing protocols (RIP, OSPF and not forgetting statis routes) to get packets from your source networks to destination networks. The routing components of windows server is RRAS (Routing and Remote Access service).

I am unable to give a blanket installation scenario here and your set up would depend on your requirements (which i'll be happy to expand upon if i know your routing requirements). Regards
TravelRe: Access Bank Job And Uk Visa Which Way? by paribus(m): 10:53am On Oct 05, 2007
@Toshman

I beg to differ - Your progress after school anywhere (not restricted to UK alone) is never certain, only depends on what you can make of the opportunities/resources available to you. A UK degree could potentially (but absolutely no guarantee) get your foot in many doors - employment wise back in Naija and i'm all for taking it if one have the opportunity. While i share your views on the not-so "equal opportunities" available to one as an African here in the UK, that has never been a hindrance for some Africans that choose to get ahead in the UK (or elsewhere), i've come across a lot of nextGen African brothers that have grabbed their 'progress bull' by the horns and locking down very good professional jobs in the UK - while they may be few compared with other yet struggling brothers, i think it goes to show that it's really up to what the individual makes of the situation. remember progress would rarely be certain or handed down on a platter, most times you've got to grab it.

On the other hand, i agree with you on if the poster decides to take the Access job, it is still all good and i don't feel he would exactly be missing out a lifetime opportunity by not choosing now to study in the UK. He can always do this at a later time. Regards
TravelRe: Access Bank Job And Uk Visa Which Way? by paribus(m): 9:30am On Oct 05, 2007
Is your study in UK at master's level? If you decide to pursue the schooling option, i don't suppose it would be out of place to formally write access bank and let them know of your plans, thank them for the opportunity given (even though you were not able to take up the offer) and possibly express your interest or enquire about the possibility of still working with them at a later time in the future (possibly at a different role). I think if the letter is worded appropriately, you might subtly (no guarantee) hold down a potential place for yourself in the bank after your completing your studies (having been earlier offered a place in the bank).

Still going further, nothing stops you from going to their headquarters and seeking audience with an HR/Recruitment Manager, professionally explaining your predicament and giving reasons why you're choosing the school option. This might keep you in the good books of the bank - employment wise. I'm hoping your level and course of study are relevant to the intended career path you wish to follow in access. Regards

What beats me is how a nigerian (except the scammer is really non-nigerian can receive money from Western Union from a bank in Nigeria under the name "Bob Martin". Assuming even if the victim falls for this no-brainer scam, how the heck is the scammer able to collect the money sent except with collaboration of bank officials that are trustees of the Western Union process. Yes i know, "Bob Martins" might actually be a real nigerian name (possibly from lagos or rivers) but how many Nigerians do you really know with the first name "Bob" - and would use such in a biz transaction. I don't really think the last part of the transaction (where money is received) can scale through without the connivance of a WU official. Regards

Why don't you repost the contents of your refusal notice, i think this would be helpful to the guys in the house that offers to state their opinions/suggestions about your situation. Do this rather than post bits and pieces of info when you choose to - i was expecting that the refusal notice would be your next post since the last one made, but obviously not so. If i was in your shoes and sincerely need help, i'll spill out everything about my case in the post - take a cue from previous comprehensive posts on this thread (a la funkybaby, shobaby etc). stop using pass4sure and testking, start using testinside. It is more precise for your Cisco Exams. email me at aaadewunmi@yahoo.com
Rather - i'll say, start spending more time with your RouterSim, get extremely grounded in all aspects of the CCNA curriculum, learn to crunch subnetting even when woking up from sleep - and regardless of pass4sure, testinside, testking, actualexams - won't really matter if you have the ones with the current or latest questions, the questions would only be useful to validate what you already know.

I'm an advocate of learning and learning the proper way. Don't be fooled if you are able to pass these exams by memorising these dumps, the shortcomings would eventually show up on the jobrole. Use any dumps you can get hold of, but don't let you knowledge and competence of networking depend on them. Regards
ComputersRe: Help My Job Is Online by paribus(m): 9:23pm On Sep 26, 2007
@poster
You definitely need to give more info as has been indicated on the setup of your network. From the little i can gather from your post, you have a windows vista pc sharing your internet connection to the rest of the lan. If you are able to browse the internet without any latency or bandwidth issues on this computer but experience otherwise on the other LAN PCs, there could be several issues with relation to this:

status of your hub/switch
status of the cabling from the PC sharing the internet connection ("server"wink
number of PCs on the LAN between which you are sharing the connection.
is your ICS properly configured
have you ruled out virus/worm/malware

several things could come into play in this regard so you'll need to indicate what have been eliminated and what has not, basically you are our eyes to your infrastructure and the more info you are able to provide, the better nairalanders are able to give their opinion from an informed perspective.

@juw0n
I think misconfiguration - rather than inadequacies of windows vista (which is meant to be an improved OS with superior capabilities over xp) might be the issue here. if fhe possible root configuration issues are not eliminated, then he's bound to have the same problems even with windows xp.

what is the guarantee that his sponsors would be willing to give him the original on re-applying again?? another 13k will be lost to BHC.

if ufuoslee can get his sponsor to agree to represent him at AIT, the guy will go their with the original documents and show them to the judge and then carry them back home to his house.

if his sponsor refuses to represent him, he should forget about the appeal, forget about applying again for British visa, until he gets sponsors that can give him the original documents.

p.s. for house/property deeds, like C of O,passport pages, colour photocpies will do just fine. but bank statements, letters from sponsors, it has to be originals.
You're on spot with this.
I think ufuoslee needs to repost the complete wordings of the refusal letter so that you guys can appraise this. The ECO seems detailed in the refusal reasons.  If i could recall the documents that were indicated on the notice were bank statements from two different sponsors.  dv if i was a sponsor, i won't risk my property deeds by giving out to someone i'm sponsoring but with bank statements i would think this would be different and bound to attract suspicion if copies were presented (on the premise that bank statements are not valuable documents as C of O, title deeds etc as they can always be reproduced easily. And if an individual wants to claim security of personal info, the same personal info woould still be available on the copies which won't make this claim so solid - i'm quite interested in knowing if anyone has been able to make a genuine claim of why they can't present the original copy of a bank statement).

Also I want to believe that Ufuoslee's sponsors might not be in the UK and might not be able to attend a hearing session in person. Ufuoslee's comments on these issues would dv be very helpful. Regards
TravelRe: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process by paribus(m): 7:07pm On Sep 26, 2007
ufuoslee:
But my sponsor says he cannot give out his original and that is why i have decided to appeal
@Ufuoslee
I happened to have seen the scanned copy of the appeal you temporarily posted online as well. My initial thinking was that the content could have been typed verbatim (and removing personal information disclosed in the posted scanned copy) and posted into your reply here in about the same time it would have taken you to scan, save a jpg copy and post on the thread. From my very limited knowledge of immigration matters, most especially on appeal issues (which i dv don't proclaim any expertise on but i'm learning from the guys in the hosue), my line of thinking on reading the refusal notice was that you'd stand little chance of winning an appeal (this is drawn from the very detailed response given by the eco on the refusal notice, you were using 2 sponsors and had no original document from any of them) and would be better of reapplying and correcting the issues raised in the refusal letter.

The line below is taken from the vfs website link: http://www.ukvac-ng.com/required.aspx

Will you accept photocopies of documents?
Where possible, please send original documents. We see a lot of forged documents, and it is easier for us to confirm that an original document is genuine, rather than a photocopied one. We can examine original documents to make sure that they have not been tampered with. But we realise that some documents are too valuable for you to want to send them with your application, for example, a US Green Card. In these cases, please send us a good-quality photocopy of the original. Also, please make sure that, wherever possible, you do not laminate your documents.

Another link as well:  http://www.vfs-uk-lk.com/images/Checklist%20draft%20non%20settlement%205%20Dec%2006%20(2).pdf

excerpts from the last line -  "It is strongly recommended that you submit original supporting documentation only (apart from savings certificates and property deeds where a certified copy is recommended)."

Ordinarily i would think if an potential applicant has read through this, they would be unlikely to go ahead with an application with photocopied docs knowing the chances of success are very slim. Or in the worst case scenario, get a notarised copy and very clear pinted scanned colored copy of these documents (hoping that at least it might show that those the original copies couldn't truly be made available).

But like i said i'm still on the learning curve and would be interested to see if an appeal would indeed be advisable based on the circumstances surrounding your application.  I think you should post your refusal letter as advised again by mrpataki (all due regards) so that he (and the capable others) can genuinely have the true picture of your circumstances and help out accordingly. I wish you the best. Regards

Should I still come with my sponsors statement of account or my documents as in my qualifications only.
Please tell me all I need to bring
I think it's ideal to have all documents (and where not possible, photocopies) used in securing the entry clearance. And preferably in your hand luggage to show to an immigration officer (if requested) before you are cleared to go to baggage claims.  In my case, i had all docs at hand but i wasn't asked for any, just some short questions about - name of school, term  time address, and if i (or my spouse) intend to work while here. Bear in mind the  last question might be phrased as a trick question i.e if asked if you would like to work part time to sustain yourself, promptly say no - that you have enough funds to cover your tution and living expenses and won't need to work. Regardless, your entry permit would still allow you to work the regular 20hrs if you so wish. Wish you a safe trip and best regards.

Pardon me if it is stale reading or doesn't belong in this section, i deliberated for a while on which might be the most appropriate section and in my own limited wisdom, i presume here might be good, if otherwise, my apologies. The article is a speech delivered by the renowned writer Dr Chika Onyeani and i've just posted it verbatim here. The bold emphasis are mine - reinforcing my strong agreement with some of his views. Happy reading.

STOP BLAMING WHITES: NOBODY OWES BLACKS ANYTHING
BY DR. CHIKA ONYEANI

TOPIC: TRUTH, HONESTY AND FRANKNESS

Good morning.

President Earl Richardson, Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters.  I feel especially honored to be here today, in this great institution. I must thank Dean Hollis, for inviting me to come here today. In fact, the last time I was in Baltimore was at the Mid-Atlantic Writers Association conference, and I had been invited by Prof. Grace Coffey to speak about my book, CAPITATLIST NIGGER: The Road to Success  -  A Spider Web Doctrine. My African sister, Yahne Sangarey, a member of the African Sun Times staff as well as Curator, the African Museum in Baltimore here, had arranged for me to participate in the "Global African Writers: The Ties that Bind" of the United Nations African Project.  The book was well received, and when Dean Hollis offered to bring me here to speak with you, I wasn't sure that his colleagues would  have the courage to agree with his selection of an author of such a controversial book and viewpoint. The fact that I am here today is a testimony to the courage and progressive thinking of the members of this institution.  I thank you all and especially Dean Hollis for his bold initiative.

A lot of times when most of us present our polished resume, we forget to mention the humble environment where we come from.  Of course, I am no exception. But I would be remiss if I didn't tell you a little bit about myself other than what is in my resum.  I come from Ohafia, a warrior group of the Igbo national group in Nigeria.  It is in a very remote area of the country.  When I was growing up, we attended school in make shift mud and hut houses. Then, as it is still now today, we didn't have running water, and now the electricity we have today hardly works one day in a month.  For most of us, books were a luxury , but when we got hold of one, we made sure that we knew what was in it to pass our exams and move to the next class.  In fact, I am exceptionally lucky because I was one of those who hardly had books, even exercise books, what you call notebooks here, not due to my parents not providing the money for them, but due to my uncle's partiality to my cousin who started school with me. Needless to say my cousin was three classes behind me when we finished, and even then I had set a goal of becoming somebody. I gave you that very short resume just to say that no matter wherever you come from or from whatever circumstances, you can achieve whatever goal you set your mind on. And looking at you all, I know you are all very special and goal oriented, otherwise you would not be sitting where you are now.Thousands of others have abandoned their goals even before they started.  I applaud you all.

My topic today is the Black Race - it is not about Africans from the continent, or Africans in the Diaspora, or African West Indians, but about the Black Race. My discussion is about truth, it is about honesty and frankness.  It is
about no more lies, no more hiding the truth, and no more blaming others for what is happening to the Black Race.  It is about accepting responsibility for our actions; it is about playing the same games that others are playing and becoming very successful.

It is about being intelligent on how we make decisions where to spend our hard earned money. It is about no more playing the blame game, and the victim-mentality game. In this 21st century, we have to accept the truth of our situation, and nothing but the truth, so help us God. There is nobody more qualified to debate the state of the Black Race versus others, other than you and I.  We cannot, as usual, in our lackadaisical manner abandon this debate to others with better access to the media.

In Africa, we have a saying that "when a child grows up, and he is able to wash his hands, he should sit at the same table and eat with his elders."  The Bl ack Race has grown up, we have washed our hands, but the question is why are we not sitting at the same table to eat with our elders, in this case, why are we not sitting at the same table with other races to eat from the same table, why are we still eating from the floor?

Again, we have another saying in Africa that "you don't need a mirror to look at what you are wearing on your wrist." You see, you can look at your wrist and see clearly what you are wearing.  You don't need a mirror to tell you what time it is or to know what kind of jewelry you are wearing. But unfortunately, we as a people, the Black race, prefer to look at what we are wearing on our wrist with a mirror. Just try it, and you will see why we have a very distorted image of our situation.

We are afraid of looking at the truth.  We prefer the fuzzy image. We know the truth, but we don't want to talk about it. Yes, we say to ourselves, we cannot wash our dirty linen in the public; we cannot talk about the
truth of our situation, because white people are going to seize that as a weapon against us.   We believe that they will say, you see even the Blacks themselves are saying what we have been saying all along. "They are lazy, they are non-productive, they can't govern themselves, they are unruly, etc. etc." Well, let me tell you the facts of life. That era of our not looking at the truth in the face is dead, and gone.

This is the 21st century, if we are to believe what all the Y2K experts told us; and I am happy that there is a genre of Blacks all over the world who now believe that we, just like the Jews and others, must begin to wash our
so-called dirty linen in the public. Again, where I come from, there is another saying that "you don't chase after a mouse when your house is on fire."  Just take a second to digest that statement. Because you know what would happen if you started chasing after the mouse when the house is on fire. You will perish and the mouse would have escaped.  I am telling you that the Black Race is like an inferno, we shouldn't be chasing after a mouse.  What we need is water, no, we need a whole ocean, to put out the inferno.

The word ruthless is regarded as a negative, when used to describe somebody's action.  But to me, that word ruthless is a very positive word.  And that is why I decided to be ruthlessly frank about the Black Race in my book,
Capitalist Nigger: The Road to Success. No more hiding what people would say about us.

Their opinion is irrelevant and meaningless. Our situation is critical and we need drastic action if we are to begin to discover and cure the seemingly insurmountable virus devouring our whole organs of life. The first bitter truth
we have to accept, as I charged in my book, is that the Black Race, as now constituted and though as endowed as the others, is a non-productive race.  We have to accept the fact that the Black Race, as constituted, basically is a consumer race, depending on other communities for our culture, our  language, our feeding and our clothing. And despite our abundance of natural resources, we are economic slaves because we lack the "killer-instinct and devil-may-care attitude" of the Caucasian and the "spider web economic mentality" of the Asian. The Black Race is the most hospitable race of people I have ever seen.  We will not have any difficulty throwing out our own brothers or sisters just to accommodate any other race, other than our own. We will rather be poor, let our guests be comfortable.

But let me be totally sincere with you here.  I am tired of a people who have one mind set, complain and whine about what others do to us.  We complain and complain and whine and whine ad nauseam about what others have done to us and are still doing to us. We think the world owes us something. I am sorry to say that we are delusional. Nobody owes us a thing. Nobody is willing to give up what they have, on the excuse that we want it. If you want something you have to go out and get it. You cannot continue to beg for manna to fall from heaven, my brothers and sisters.  You know what, unfortunately manna never falls from heaven. Let me tell you this.
Most African countries have been independent for more than 40 years.  The promise of independence is yet to be fulfilled and we had thought that Manna would fall from heaven.  But rather than manna falling from heaven,
what we have in Africa are wars, famine, disease, military dictatorships, human rights abuses, despotic leaders who prefer to loot the peoples' treasuries for their own personal aggrandizement, leaders who prefer to force the adulation of the masses with the barrels of a gun rather than with the provision of simple amenities to the people - like good roads, health care facilities, good environment for learning and opportunities for employment.

My brothers and sisters, I feel sad letting you know that Africa is worse off today than when the colonial masters left.  Everything we use in Africa is imported. Do you know that we even still import candles from Taiwan?  Yet 40 years after independence, we still blame our colonial masters for everything that happens in Africa today. Our leaders are not men enough to accept responsibility for the abject poverty of our people. We accuse
Europeans of plundering and pillaging the natural resources of Africa.  But I ask you, tell me, who are inviting them to do this, are they not our own people? I am sure you have all heard of the late tyrants and dictators Sani Abacha of Nigeria and Mobutu Sese Seko of Zaire, now the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  Abacha stole more than $5 billion of the impoverished Treasury of Nigeria and took that money and deposited it in Swiss Bank accounts.  Since his death, the Swiss authorities have "found" only $1.5 billion of that money. On his part,  Mobutu Sese Seko of Zaire took $6 billion to the same Swiss banks. After he died, the Swiss have told us that they have only found $7 million of that money.  Tell me, which white man left Europe and took a gun to their heads and forced them to steal $12 billion from a continent where the per capita income is less than $500 per year?  Do you know what $11 billion could have done for the starving and disease prone children in those countries?

No, we cannot continue to accuse white people for everything happening to us.   At a certain point in time, we have to sit back and look in the mirror and see the culprit of our misfortune.  It is not the white, the red, the green, the yellow or any other color.  We are responsible for what is happening to us today. As Capitalist Nigger: The Road to Success has charged, the Black Race is drowning in the blame and victim-mentality game.  We have three things we now wear as body armor  - slavery, colonialism and racism.  We use these as excuses for our failures. We blame all our failures on these three factors. In Africa, we blame everything on colonialism and racism. In the Western world, especially here in America, we blame everything on slavery and racism. We have allowed these three factors to envelope us as a people.  They are attached to us, as the bee is attached to the honey.

When African leaders squander the peoples' money in buying up palaces in Europe, rather than building infrastructure in their respective countries, and the masses revolt, they blame the former colonial masters.  When in this country, we allow others to come into our neighborhoods and buy up our businesses because we are stupid enough not to patronize our own people, we blame it on racism forgetting that those who came into our neighborhood started with almost nothing. But through our generosity and patronage, became rich and then turn around to insult and disrespect us.

It is your fault, and it is mine as well. As I said in my book, we are not even intelligent consumers, why, because we believe that the more we are insulted and disrespected, the more respectable the people doing the
insulting, and the more we should patronize them. Let me give you two examples here. We as a people spend approximately $40 million a day eating Chinese food.  That is $40 million a day, and that comes to about  $15 billion a year. That's what we give to a community that disrespects and insults us, and treats us like dogs.  In most of our communities where there are Chinese restaurants, they erect these barriers between themselves and
us, and pass our purchases through a hole as if they are passing food to a savage dog. Yes, we all love Chinese food  - it is also cheap; but is it better to be investing $15 billion a year in a community which treats you like a dog?

In economic terms, using the economic multiplier effect, we are actually investing $120 billion a year into the Chinese community, and inversely taking that much money out of own community.  No wonder their children go to the best schools, and they live in the best neighborhoods because we cannot curb our taste and our laziness to cook for ourselves. Listen, I am not advocating that we should boycott Chinese food, but I am saying there should be a tit for tat. There should be reciprocity. And for all the billions we give to the Chinese community, they don't even employ one Black person in their establishments.  I ask you, is that an intelligent way to spend our hard earned money from the menial jobs that are left for us?  I believe not.

As I said earlier the more we are insulted, the more we gravitate and patronize the people doing the insulting to us.  Let's take the Japanese for instance.  Two of their Prime Ministers, at different times, within a few years apart, publicly stated that Blacks are inferior.  Mind you, the Prime Minister is like the President of the United States, the leader of the Japanese people. Just imagine, if these leaders said that publicly, what the Japanese
really think about us.  Yes, true to form, we protested their calling us inferior.  We hollered, and made them make some kind of feeble apology.  But what do we do in retaliation for the Japanese insulting us? We reward them with purchasing $80 billion worth of their goods a year.

But while we are happily dishing out the little we don't have, the Asians have perfected what I call the Spider Web Economic Doctrine, which is a highly effective system of achieving economic power. Of course, I am sure you all know what a Spider does? When it spins its yarns, any fly that tries to enter its web is caught and never able to escape. It is the same thing that happens in the Asian community. So, in my Spider Web Economic Doctrine, when a dollar enters a community, it does not  escape from that community.  It circulates within that community, and that is where truly what economists call the "multiplier effect" is classically practiced. Asians, especially Indians from India, are the greatest practitioners of the Spider Web Economic Doctrine.  When a dollar comes into their community, it doesn't leave it.  It circulates within their community, because the Indians believe in patronizing one another. They don't eat other peoples' food. They eat theirs.   Their women hardly wear anything other than clothes made in India, and even the suits their men wear are made in India. The Indian, and other Asians, will travel hundreds of miles to patronize one another.

Let me tell you what this has done for the Indian community in America. When they arrived in New York, long after continental Africans, they bought one newsstand in New York City, and eventually took over all the major
newsstands in the City, including Grand Central, Penn Station and Ports Authority stations. You have to pay them $3,000 just to get your newspaper into those locations.  From this, the Indians set their eyes on the taxi and limousine industry of the City.  They took over 90% of the medallions, and now control most of the taxi and limousine services in the City. Then from there, they set their eyes on the motel business. As has been expansively written by the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal,  the Washington Post, Newsweek, Forbes, Fortune Magazines, plus a plethora of television network newscasts, the Indians control over 85% of the motel business
in America.

According to the same sources, they are now poised to take over most major five star hotels. In Silicon Valley, as has been well chronicled, Indians control more than 750 high tech companies in the Valley, with the result that several Indians are now billionaires.  And are using their wealth to create incubators in universities throughout India and Pakistan to train future leaders in the high-tech age, for even now more than 50% of the professional visas awarded by the United States each year are given to Indians. India, which got its independence barely nine years before African countries, possesses nuclear power and exports a great deal to Africa.

The Spider Web Economic Mentality of the Asians have brought them enormous wealth, respect, and insulated them from the idiotic vagaries of the white man. It is the only economic doctrine I believe that is capable of rescuing us out of the abyss of our present economic doldrums. Unfortunately, you and I, as a people, have always believed that whatever a Black man produces must be inferior.  It is ingrained in us.  We may not be conscious of it, but we believe it nevertheless. For example, if we were to have two people, one black and one white, open a store offering the same quality of goods and service.  We will not patronize the black store; rather we would go to the white store, because we believe it is offering a superior product and service just because of the color of their skin.

You can't pretend you don't do it. You do it, and I do it.  It is even reflected in how we see our professionals.  Just go to doctors' offices.  When you go to a Black doctor's office. All you see are black faces.  But, on the other
hand, go to a white doctor's office, and what do you see but black faces more numerous than even white faces. The Black race must abandon its current path to oblivion and total annihilation, its current practice of wearing its success on its sleeves. As I said earlier, you don't chase after a mouse when your house is on fire.  We prefer to run before we walk, and prefer the best things in life when we hardly have a penny in our bank accounts.  We prefer the Lexus, the Mercedes Benz, buying a $300 pair of snickers for our grade school children, when we haven't put one dollar in their education fund.

Rather than provide simple amenities to the people, African leaders prefer to buy palaces in Europe, spend $10,000 a night at hotels around the world, and ride in luxurious limousines. Unfortunately, Africa owes the world more than $375 billion, and there is no place in Africa you could point to as evidence of that money being used.  That $375 billion translates to $5000 to pay back for every African in a continent where the per capita income is less than $500. In fact, you have more Mercedes Benzes in Africa than in Germany itself.

My brothers and sisters, my message to you today is that I want the younger generation of the Black Race to understand that they cannot carry the same baggage the older generation has carried for so long: the notion that somebody owes us something. Well, let me be ruthlessly frank with you, my friends, nobody owes you anything.  Don't carry our baggage of whining, complaining and begging.  Nobody is willing to give up what they have.  This world is about survival of the fittest.  If you want something you have got to get up and get it. We must develop the same Spider Web Economic Mentality of the Asians, and the killer-instinct and devil-may-care attitude of the Caucasian.

As I rightly observed in my book, we are as endowed as any other race of people.  We have to believe in ourselves.  We have to believe in solving our problems ourselves.  We cannot continue to depend on others to do
everything for us.  We have to become intelligent consumers; we need to become a productive race. We must become economic warriors. As the general who led his men into enemy territory did, we must destroy the transportation that brought us into the enemy's territory.  We must fight our way to victory or perish.

Let me honestly say this to you, my brothers and sisters: self-preservation is not a sin.  Look at the person next to you.  We must think of ourselves as superior individuals.  There is nothing inferior about you or me.  We must adopt the Spider Web Economic Mentality: we must trap the dollars that come into our community so that they could circulate within us.

As I charged in my book, if you and I were to be charged to the court of public opinion, we would all be shot for the serious economic crimes we have committed against the Black Race.  We must atone for our sins.
Therefore, when you leave here today, resolve to buy black  - it is a dynamic virtue. We must stop wallowing in the feaces of slavery, colonialism and racism.  For me, the stench is too much, and I am getting out. I hope you join me in getting out and breathing in the fresh air of ruthless honesty, truth, freedom and the stupendous economic prosperity before us.

My advice to you is this: don't buy Capitalist Nigger: The Road to Success, if you are not willing to face the truth.  It is a bitter brew to swallow, but it is painfully uplifting. Once again, I thank this great institution for asking me to speak on this great occasion.  I have been highly honored and humbled.

Thank you.

Bro - posts like this would get you nowhere. if tables were turned and i'm the one making this post, what would be your motivation for wanting to get in touch with me. If you need a biz partner, you might as well give info about the biz here or why would anyone bother to contact you in the first instance. But then again i could be wrong. Just my 2c. Regards
BusinessRe: Free Classified Ads for Nigerians by paribus(m): 11:58pm On Sep 21, 2007
Hey - good effort but could do with a lot of improvement. My 2cents are as follows:

Why brand it 'Nigerian Ebay' - the site has nothing in common with Ebay and from the features i've checked out so far, doesn't have any integrated bidding process. I'll say at best efforts, more comparable with the classified section of gumtree. Better to come up with your own unique brand than try to latch on to those globally acclaimed brands and drawing a comparison level that can't be matched.

No single information about company or individual contact information behind the website. Who do i contact for support or FAQs?. User profile is only as lean as a username, email and password. Besides during a test registration, the provided email was not used for any level of verification and validation, so why ask for an email. Gathering emails for unsolicited marketing readily comes to mind.

Terms and conditions link goes nowhere - my assumption is there are none.

If your intention is to create a fairly static classified ads site where people can post information about their products and others can contact them on the advertised products, then fine, however if you are looking at a fully fledged ecommerce site, then this site doesn't really fly.

Not wanting to err on the side of harsh criticism, i'll say good try bro. But better to completely design your site, do a pilot test run to ensure all integration and processes are functional as planned before going live. Nothing as distasteful as a hurriedly launched half hearted supposedly commerce sites. Regards

Just because I took it out to explain certain things about what relates to your case, you give me that terminology? undecided
I have been called all manners of names by individuals here on this forum. I would greatly appreciate it, if the mode of discussion is kept to the level of asking opinions, and nothing more than that. Really not in a good mood now to accept your ''just kidding'' phrase as to whatever you mean with it.

You can submit your application to whichever British High Commission (Lagos or Abuja). So far you are legally resident in the country you are in, you are entitled to submit it in that country, where there is a British High Commission.
Guys - give it up to these guys (MrPataki, Akolawole et al) and quit passing unhelpful remarks. They offer their advice (and on all occassions very helpful insight) without issues. Appreciate this (and knowing fully well they might have chosen to ignore your posts or requests for the much needed info - but they chose to help) and recognize that the offhand remarks won't do nobody any good. thats some good formating you got there for the visa application and congrats tongue thats good for all those BHC people

i would like you to take a review at my issue discused here and if possible for you to contribute to what possible i could do to get a student Visa

although mine is Australia , i still believe proper packaging implies to all

here is the link https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-79494.0.html
@Opensource
Quite honestly, i know next to nothing about Australian migration - processes or regulations. I'm afraid i won't be of much help in this respect and won't claim otherwise. Having gone through your thread and as you've pointed out, maybe ensuring you have all the required documents and arranging them in a well indexed order might help your application. Whichever way, i wish you a positive outcome. Regards

@poster and other's in the house, I'll appreciate it if anyone can ans my question; I intend to apply for student visa by january and i'll like to know if i can include my spouse application at the same time if all other relevant doc are available.

thanks and waiting for reply.
@face2ecaf
I believe you can include your spouse application as a student dependent. The immig laws allow this. And with you 'having all other relevant docs available', no reason not to go ahead. Regards

As a professional graphics designer i strongly believe those pictures are fabricated.

Except you understand the wonderful works of Adobe , then pictures enough in the modern times arent just fully ok for proves

why not ask them for videos , which too can be fake , but with more sophisticated equipments
I don't suppose the pictures are doctored or manipulated (not disputing adobe capabilities by any means though), the website name www.419eater.com caught my attention as i've been on this site (and some other scambaiting sites) some months back. You'll need to read the stories on the site to appreciate the source of these pictures (videos available on the site too). Fortunately or unfortunately, these scambaiting sites exposes the greedy, unscrupulous and lazy ones (and they are in the minority) in our midst. Regards

@Poster
The title reminded me of a 2Pac interview some time way back. The snippets are below:

If the churches took half the money that they was making and gave it back to the community, we'd be alright. If they took half the buildings that they use to "praise God" and gave it to motherfuckers who really need God, we'd be alright. Have you seen some of these god damn churches lately? There's one's that take up the whole block in New York. There's homeless people out here. Why ain't the church lettin' them stay there? Why these niggas got gold ceilings and shit? Why God need gold ceilings to talk to me? Why does God need colored windows to talk to me? Why God can't come where I'm at where he sent me? If God wanted to talk to me in a pretty spot like that, why the hell he send me here then (reference to the ghetto)

I don't necessarily share Pac's views on religion but i'm inclined to agree with him on this.
