Celebrities"I Regret Being A Public Figure" - Media Personality Eriata Laments by Parizz(op):
Media personality Ese Eriata says she
regrets being a celebrity as she
laments about the difficulty that
comes with maintaining a celebrity
status in Nigeria

She took to her social media page to
disclose that as a celebrity, one has to
wake up to negativity and try to
constantly build a reputable image,
yet there are factors including trolls
that constantly try to attach scandal to
their personal lives.
Here's what she wrote;

"If I was able to see ahead, I
wouldn't have wished to be a public
figure; would have continued as a
makeup artist or something else, It's
totally a different ball game from
what I expected, The passion to
Exhibit my talent is what's holding
me down. The fact that one have to
wake up to negativity once in a
while is crazy, even when u try to be
on ur lowest key, there's always that
one person who wants to bring ur
leg out just cox u are a public figure
and you'll make headline Sometimes
letting pple close is like selling out
your life, every word that comes out
of the mouth has to be calculated,
every movement has to be planned,
you Automatically become a cctv coz
u constantly have to be observant.

You have to constantly put so much
effort in making sure you build a
reputable image with no sandal;
especially when you have shame and
wish to live a private life. The worse
of all is keeping up with
AppearanceM; were U have to pay
photographer/makeup Artist to stay
relevant every week online, In most
case all of this is just for content;
not cox there's really an occasion/
event

The crazy part about all of this
public figure thing is when you feel
the need to be in a competition ,or ,
the little you earn; you spend it on
painting a picture of your life that
isn't true, when u can actually live a
normal life with...

... no pressure and still be a public
figure. What I also find Tiring is the
fact that pple expect too much from
u as a public figure and then you
find yourself doing what u are not
suppose to do cox u have to meet up
to that Standard (not me tho) And
most times when u work yourself to
that level, u end up wanting more or
trying to keep up,next thing u start
getting depressed and feeling the
need to get high on drugs/alcohol
when u are alone becoz of the
pressure u have put on yourself A
Then in all of this Someone is on
your timeline or a blog trolling you;
without caring or wondering if u are
even okay mentally. A large number
of celebrities are lonely that's why
most of them are online 24/7. In a
nutshell, it's not an easy life being a
public figure, the least u can do is
show them love and Encouragement
They are human and not above
having flaws, most of the things they
do is for you cox u made tlotsm do
it.

PoliticsRe: COVID-19: Nigeria To Build N5.6 Billion Oxygen Plants In 36 States, FCT by Parizz(op): 1:07pm On Jun 03, 2021
Lets see how it goes
PoliticsCOVID-19: Nigeria To Build N5.6 Billion Oxygen Plants In 36 States, FCT by Parizz(op): 10:06am On Jun 03, 2021
The Nigerian government has awarded the contracts for the construction of oxygen plant houses, installation and maintenance of oxygen production plants across the 36 states of the federation and the
Federal Capital Territory(FCT) , Abuja.

The project, which was awarded at a total sum of N5.6 billion, was approved at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday.

The meeting was chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari.

While briefing the state house correspondents shortly after the meeting, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said the decision was part of the administration’s efforts towards addressing the biting challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic.

Mr Mohammed said: “The Minister of Health presented a memo, which was approved, for the emergency supply, installation and maintenance of oxygen production plants and construction of plant houses in each of the 36 States of the federation and Abuja.

“The contract was approved in the sum of N5, 615, 127, 479 inclusive of 7.5 percent VAT, in favour of four different companies, with a completion period of 20 weeks.”

He said COVID-19 has made oxygen a very critical commodity, and that the best way to address such was to make it available to save the people of the pandemic.

The minister also informed the journalists that the council approved the sum of N1.1 billion for the procurement of aviation security uniforms and accessories for use in various airports across the country.

“The Minister of Aviation also got approval for the award of a contract for direct procurement for the design, manufacture and supply of aviation security uniforms and accessories. The sum total is N1,127,945.

“The unique thing about uniforms for the aviation industry is that it has some International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards that would be followed.”

He also further disclosed that the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs also got an approval of N864.7 million for two road contracts that were reportedly abandoned by previous administrations.

“The Minister of Niger Delta got approval for Okpula-Igwartanta Phase I linking Imo and Rivers State, started in 2010. He got an approval for a variation of N620, 763, 000.

He also got approval for erosion flood control on Ndemili-Utagba-Onitsha road in Delta State, started in 2014. The council today approved N244 million to augment the original contract sum,” the minister said.

PoliticsThe Crying Blood Of Biafra, By Femi Fani-kayode by Parizz(op): 8:05pm On Jun 02, 2021
.
“And the Lord asked Cain, ‘where is thy brother Abel?’ And he said ‘I know not: am I my brother’s keeper?’
And the Lord said, ‘what have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood is crying to me from the ground.” Genesis 4: 9-10 .
Today is Biafra day. It is a day that has been set aside to honour the memory of the three to five million Biafran civilians who were killed in the Nigerian civil war which took place from 1967 to 1970.
It is pertinent to note that 95 per cent of those who were killed were civilians and at least one million of them were innocent children, who were purposely targetted and systematically and clinically starved to death.
This is one of the greatest war-time atrocities and barbaric acts of ethnic cleansing, mass murder and genocide in human history and the entire world sat by silently and watched with horror and disgust as the Nigerian state effected it with cold-blooded precision.
To use Macbeth’s infamous words in William Shakespeare’s famous play, this was indeed a “bloody business”.
Yet at the time and for the last 50 years, instead of showing remorse, the Nigerian state has tried to justify this madness, including the starving of little children, by making a series of heartless and incendiary statements like “starvation is a legitimate weapon of war” and others like “we cannot be expected to feed our enemies”.
These words and such sentiments are not only heartless, chilling and cold-blooded but they are also totally and completely unacceptable.
What we did to the Biafran civilian population was nothing short of a war crime and every single person that was in any way involved in the carnage should have been prosecuted for crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court.
Aside that I have always maintained that Nigeria owes an apology to the people of the South-East for this great injustice and act of sheer wickedness.
Admitting that what we did was wrong is not an act of weakness and neither does it make those of us who say it unpatriotic.
It simply means that we are strong enough to acknowledge our own errors, that we are compassionate enough to acknowledge the pain of our victims and that we are patriotic enough to ensure that our country never commits such an atrocity again.
It would also prove that we are remorseful, humane, decent and civilised, and it would open the door for God’s forgiveness and redemption for our people and nation.
Apart from being the right thing to do, this is also a profound and deep spiritual principle which is acknowledged by much of humanity but which, for some curious reason, is lost on most Nigerian leaders.
Virtually every country on this planet that has committed acts of genocide against its own citizens or the citizens of other countries have acknowledged it and have in one way or the other expressed their regrets to their victims. In many cases they have also sought to make reparations.
They have recognised the fact that this is essential to help the healing process and to usher in peace and genuine reconciliation.
The two notable exceptions are Turkey, who killed millions of Christian Armenians after the First World War, and Nigeria, who murdered millions of Biafrans between 1967 and 1970. Both countries have refused to even acknowledge that genocide took place, let alone express their regrets for unleashing it.
We can and must fix that. We can and must change our mindset. We must do the right thing. We must express our regrets for this great act of evil.
We must accept the fact that there is nothing noble, wholesome or decent in starving children to death or butchering defenceless civilians in the name of war or anything else.
We must acknowledge the power of God and the sanctity of human life and we must fear His power and His wrath.
Until we do so, I am absolutely convinced that nothing can go well for our country because the blood of those innocent Biafrans that we murdered cries to God in heaven for vengeance. Until we do so we shall just continue to go around in circles and things will just get from bad to worse.
Permit me to end this short contribution with the words of my wife, Mrs. Regina Fani-Kayode. She said,
“How many people can accept this level of wickedness against their own families and still go on to live in peace with their enemies for over 50 years without any thoughts of vengeance? Even now all they’ve asked for is freedom to develop their own land and not a cry for justice against the leaders of this evil. The earth which opened it’s mouth to swallow that blood will continue rise up against the progress of this country, unless we do the right thing. Let Biafra go!”
Regina’s deep sense of justice and her passion and rage is shared by many throughout the world and in the South Eastern part of Nigeria.
May the souls of all those that died on both sides of the divide in the Nigeria/Biafra civil war rest in peace.

SportsMessi Agrees New Two -year Barcelona Contract by Parizz(op): 7:44pm On Jun 02, 2021
https://i2.wp.com/www.completesports.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/IMG_20200330_133615-scaled.jpg

Messi have reportedly set to end the year-long speculation surrounding his future by penning a new two-year deal with Barcelona.
The six-time Ballon d’Or winner’s future has been the talk of the transfer market since he tried to force a move away from a club last summer, but a dispute over his release clause ultimately led to him staying.
The Argentine did not commit his future to the club during the 2020-21 campaign, though, with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain thought to be on red alert as his deal prepares to expire at the end of this month.

However, reports in Spain have claimed that Messi has decided to continue at Barcelona and will soon sign a new deal with the club until the summer of 2023.
Messi is therefore set to ply his trade alongside compatriot Sergio Aguero at Camp Nou for the 2021-22 season, with the former Man City striker joining as a free agent on a two-year deal.
Messi – who will turn 34 later this month – enjoyed another stellar campaign in Catalonia last term, chalking up 38 goals and 14 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.

PoliticsNCC Warns Against GSM Signal Boosting by Parizz(op): 7:23am On May 20, 2021
By Oge Udegbunam
The Nigerian Communications
Commission , (NCC), has given a two-
week ultimatum to people involved in
the sale, installation, and use of the
GSM boosting device, to forthwith desist from such act.

The NCC on its webpage particularly
warned banks and other financial
institutions, government agencies,
telecommunications service providers,
private/public companies, and owners/occupiers of residential premises, that
the sale, installation, and usage of GSM boosters is illegal.

“In view of the above, the Commission
hereby gives a 14-day PRE-
ENFORCEMENT NOTICE effective from
the date of this publication to any
person involved in the sale, installation
and use of the device, to forthwith desist
from such act,” the notice warned.

Phone boosters, also known as GSM
boosters, help cell phone users improve
coverage in areas where there is not a
good signal.

They are placed in homes or cars to
increase the signal strength for cell
phones, this allows users to complete
calls in areas where they couldn’t
previously.

The devices can help wireless service
providers, public safety first responders,
and consumers by extending cell phone
coverage to areas including tunnels,
subways, building interiors, and rural
areas.

Although it helps boost the performance
of phones, it can interfere with wireless
networks that are improperly installed or
poorly designed. This could cause
interference to other calls, including
emergency and 911 calls.

The NCC said, ”in exercise of its
mandate of ensuring the protection of
consumers, ensuring good quality of
service and maintenance of technical
standards of maintenance equipment,
and in accordance with the provisions of
section 131 (1) of the Nigerian
Communications Act (NCA) 2003, the
Commission hereby warns the general
public that it is a criminal offence to sell,
install or use any equipment which may
hinder network operations, or which has
not been type-approved by the
Commission.’

It said such acts may lead to monetary
sanction and/or imprisonment, or both
(fine and imprisonment) as well as the
confiscation of any equipment used in
the illegal enhancement of network
coverage.

The commission said it would continue
to deepen its collaborative efforts with
telecoms service providers to facilitate
the provision of ubiquitous telecoms
infrastructure necessary to guarantee
good quality of service across the
nation.

“The Commission shall without further
recourse and upon expiration of the
deadline, commence appropriate
enforcement action including, but not
limited to prosecution, fine and
confiscation of equipment used,” it said.
