Hello everyone,

I just collected my WAEC certificate, I intend to use it as alternative to IELTS for UK student visa.

But I discovered my first name "Babatunde" was misspelt as "Babtunde" and my middle name as "O" instead of the full middle name.

Does it matters? Will this be a reasonable ground for UKVI for visa refusal?

Jobs/VacanciesRe: What Do You Say When You Don’t Know The Answer To An Interview Question by Parrotpal(m): 10:34pm On May 23, 2022
The startup is 54gene and they are involve in genomic research, drug discovery, medical diagnostics and drug trial. The 7riverlabs is their diagnostics arm spread over Africa. They are involved in lot of test such as covid testing, DNA, Cancer screening etc.

You really Bleep up, they pay blood money.

Fast forward to interview sha , They asked a lot of questions which I answered
They asked about the 54gene company too I answered that Then they asked about the 7riverlab

I been blaming myself sha Maybe I should have just thought of something

After I mailed you, I mailed the Austria embassy just to confirm the information I got. There response is that my dependent (wife) can go with me.

I am only concerned now with how soon we can get a job in Austria considering language differences.
VanuatuWycombe:
Let your family come and join you later. Your spouse would only need to pass German exam at A1 level.

I doubt if your family can go with you. Even financially, it could be too much ( apologies, I don’t know your pocket though).

There are part time student jobs. I remember that then I worked in a restaurant to sustain myself. I also did babysitting sometimes. I have a friend who worked in a car garage. Some worked in the school. I have another friend who worked in a packaging company. There are many options for English speaking people. You just have to be ready to work.
Thank you for the response

MeghaneMorgane:
True. Language was my first culture shock. I couldn’t believe that I’d see myself in a place where no one spoke fluent English. I didn’t understand anything. Not even the signs. I literally had to use google translate for everything. I had no choice. Now the culture no longer shocks me.
How did you cope? Jobwise? Cos I intend moving to Austria for studies. So I am concern about getting jobs in time to sustain.

Wrote the exams March 25th received a response yesterday.

When is the possible resumption? June or December?
And that means for JKU, you only need to verify and legalised your document after admission right?

Thanks everyone for all information.

I read through all the 18 pages of the thread, one major thing omitted is whether one dependent (wife in my case) is eligible to work legally during the period of my study (2 yrs).

I will appreciate a detailed response.

FamilyRe: Help!!! My Environment Is Draining Me Psychologically. by Parrotpal(m): 6:25pm On May 13, 2021
Iamdbull:
I moved from Abuja to a popular local town in ogun, I don't want to mention the name, in order to pursue my music career.

First of all let me explain something, sometimes as human beings to keep the spirit healthy you need people superior to you or people of higher value to draw energy from or to draw inspiration or an environment that excite and brings live to you or make you alive.

If the location is Ijebu ode, let connect please.

Now that's the problem am facing currently, there are no too many well to do young people in my environment, I can decide to stroll from one street to another and like 10 people would have begged me for money, I went to chicken & co ( it's a fast food outlet like kfc or chicken republic) and I was stopped and harassed by police just because I bought food at a fast food joint. They were asking me what I do for a living. What saved me that day was that I was dressed in some faded clothes, i can't dress nicely because everyone will start hailing and begging me for money and as an introvert I hate unnecessary attention, the ones that don't beg for money will try and engage one in some meaningless side talks that will lower your I.Q.

The ones that are okay are Yahoo boys and I can't relate with them. It's really getting depressing, I can't remember when last have had a highly intellectual conversation. Everyone just seems so rigid and unexposed and it's tiring. I am not really sound and exposed myself now imagine people reducing the little I.Q I have. It's so depressing.

Naturally you Will expect me to move from there but the nearest place is Lagos which will have to be on island because I hate noisy environment and you know how expensive that will be. Am so tired and fed up

You would have gotten a better advice, if you had included your proposed course.

However, most courses in Unilag are just one academic session (actually less than 9 months) while some few others are one session and a semester.

Quite cheap except the accomodation ish and Lagos expenses.

Application form 22k
Prospectus. 7k5
Obligatory (acceptance) fees. 64k5
Tuition. 75k (for most courses, some are between 120k-150k)
Department dues arr between 5k-20k

Accommodation- Henry Carr Hostel- Around 68k an Eratus Akingbola-over 100k.

Hope thi helps?
