Again if you are not dumb, you would know that it is grossly silly to suggest that the presence of churches is the cause of Nigeria's low industrial drive.

How many PRIVATE indigenious factories were in the country prior to the mass spread of churches?

Why is it that widespread presence of churches are not stopping people from building private factories and small scale industries presently in the south east?

Can you compare Nigeria to USA in terms of religious prurality?

When will you and OP start calling for the conversion of clubs, beer parlours and brothels to factories?

Nigerians are leaving Nigeria not because there are too many religious centres but because Nigeria is built on exploitative political and economic foundations.

There has never been a cohesive political and economic inclusiveness in this country. All we have ever had was a bunch of exclusive, extractive and exploitative systems. That's why religion thrives and citezens leave the country in droves.

Another reason why things don't work here is because our political system is confused.

For decades (after independence) the government's political econoy has remained neither capitalisic nor socialistic. That's the definition of economic confusion. And that's the reason for our gross under-productivity as a nation. For years the government monopolized means of production as well as ALL the critical sectors of the economy, which they still do till today.

Rather than ecourage the private enterprise and individual initiatives, the Nigerian system KEPT opressing and resisting the spirit of free enterprise. They are still doing this up till now, especially in this present government.

So how dare you blame Nigeria's institutional failure on the religious centers, especially the church?

Dude, I dare you to go and watch the multi-part documentary (up to part 4) titled the "Enterpreneurs Who Built America", then you will understand why Nigeria (if left in its present structures and systems) will NEVER be like America even in another trillion milleniums.

In fact, the reason the south (especially the south east) is doing so well in primary and secondary education is mainly because that sector is driven by the church.

Plus, are you aware that churches in Nigeria are the biggest investors in university education - after the FEDERAL government?

Are you even aware that some of the best hospitals and schools in the present day USA (and south east Nigeria) were from the church?

Do you have any idea how many people that are employed nationwide by the Winners' Chapel alone, for example?

Religious centers are built with public funds. Port Harcourt ecumenical centre is built by Rivers State Government and most central mosques in the north are built by their respective state governments.

My point is on every street in Nigeria you have more than two religious centers, just imagine if they were companies.

Am not saying it cant host it.. even a free hosting would do... I will rather use a free hosting to host a blog than most quack hosts....

And I also mentioned...its for only sites running intensive scripts and massive traffic... INTENSIVE SCRIPTS makes uses of lots of cron job which tends to slow down your server... you can imagine the likes of nairaland, jumia, konga, olx, paypal running on a shared server, No!

and the case study you brought up even went the same direction.. most of this host cmpanies wont tell you the real price... they tell you an attractive price, then when renewal comes they bill all together... so that is simple enough to understand...

I know a dude who have owened multiple (shared host) websites over the years. And he's totally good and okay with the experiernce. So, in practice, some shared hosting companies offer dedicated IPs to distinguish subscribers' accounts thereby eliminating the fear of load overflow.

Plus, where the dedicated IP is not obtainable, shared hosts have a lot of restrictive measures that are designed to prevent malicious activities and unbalanced intensive usage. And most shared hosting companies, of today, do not use the unlimited bandwidth gimmic. They always put a cap to it.

In fact one of those shared hosts that my dude used last year gave him 200gig of bandwidth (plus a plethora of other features) at $9 flat. Although, they later hiked the renewal fee of that same $9 plan to almost $160 after the first year. So my dude did the needful, and migrated his site to a new host.

So, in the final analysis, shared hosting is perfect for businesses that attract average traffic and have little or no need for intensive web script execution. And a business website can remain in this category forever and still be very successful in terms of leads and sales generation.

However, when the business website grows big in traffic and desires to deploy one or more web apps, a dedicated hosting or VPS will definitely be the way to go. At least such options are supposed to net faster support and more efficiency from your host.
