#Otuocha!# I mean, Oops! Ngige isn't exactly having the best of times. Whatever he does leaves a sour taste in people's mouths. O ginidi ka Nwoke-a mere Anambrarians adia agbaghara-agbaghara? |
Peeking behind the curtain gradually. What was meant to be a test flight turned out to be a passenger flight tragedy. Where's the missing link? Like someone said, every plane crash should make the airspace safer. Invariably, Aviation needs better funding. ASUU, NARD, NMA still on strike, and hoping to get better funding. Making Nigeria better requires more money than we have/are willing to spend. |
Perceived marginalization shouldn't be the criterion for a group to opt out of the bigger Anambra State. Otherwise, Adada State request has been around for a long while, longer than all others. There's also Aba State, Orlu State. All basing their demands on perceived marginalization. If a new state should be created, it should be Anioma. From Asaba to Agbor should be merged with Onitsha to create the new state seeing as they are culturally homogenous and contiguous geographically. That will also end the Delta-Ibo isn't Igbo debate. Anambra will likely kick against this, but it's rather in the interest of Igbos in general. Besides, Anambra will still have Nnewi. Or, we could settle for the far less strategic and dreary Etiti aka Equity state to be carved out from the present 5 Southeastern states. |
And a real tunnel! Not the ish Chimaroke built and called Ebeano Tunnel, amid deafening fanfare. |
OMG! Is this the same old Akwata? The former one and only no-go area in Enugu, at least not if you wanna get to your destination on time. Sullivan has solved the congestion problem there for the foreseeable future. The engineers who achieved this are top notch. Kudos! |
The Simpsons has run into several seasons, yet each episode is pure joy. Homer is a weird, wonderful character. Family Guy is just there. ![]() My best lines: Bart: Dad, Lisa is making me see things (issues) from both sides again! Homer: Lisa, I warned you. Lisa: But Dad, shouldn't Bart have enough information to make an informed decision? Homer: Em...D'oh... Now you're doing it to me! And Homer:You know Moe, my mom once said something that really stuck with me. She said, 'Homer, you're a big disappointment', and God bless her soul, she was really on to something! |
Ondo, Ondo State. |
Act of God is a legal term[1] for events outside human control, such as sudden floods or other natural disasters, for which no one can be held responsible.http://wikipedia.org/wiki/Act_of_God My grouse with her is that she is preempting the investigations into the cause of the accident. What if it turns out to be due to human error, she should exclude that possibility first. |
Tolexander: ignoramus on troll! To start with, what you have in quotes up there is Orisun editor's understanding of what the Minister said. She said accidents are an act of God (a phrase that refers to the occurrence of accidents despite preparedness) or a force majeure as Sterling pointed out, not that an accident is God's will (which is different and sounds crazy). @Sterling: I can't argue with that. Her logic is skewed, no doubt. The sequence makes it appear so. It sounds safer that FG attempts to avoid accidents at all costs, yet recognizes their influence may not be completely effective aka that acts of God could topple their plans I had to address Tolexander who is keen on making her appear insensitive. Finally, we don't even have any evidence this accident was due to human error, so let's wait for the results of the inquiry before doling out blame. |

Ignorant people on this thread. First, you should learn not to quote people out of context. She clearly continued in the very next sentence: She said notwithstanding this reality, the Federal Government would continue to ensure there were no accidents. Since you must be spoon-fed, let me explain it to you. The Titanic, in its heyday, represented the best maritime technology could innovate, so much so that it's motto was "Not even God can sink it" It capsized, eventually, as we know. Kindly desist from painting Odua as insensitive. More importantly, do not quote people out of context, it makes you look like a commentator without sense. Plus, look further down in your article and hear her own words. The author did a partisan job at paraphrasing. RIP to the victims of the accident once again. . |

Sterling Towers: Nwabueze suddenly developed cold feet. Na wa o, is he not the same NWabueze that had been shouting on top of his lungs for the conference. Reminds me of a warrior that crossed dressed and left his people in the lurch. May be they breed cowards in the oriental part of NIgeria.Quit being silly! Look at his picture, does he look young to you? The man you're trying to ridicule apparently has an admirable health seeking behavior, unlike people like you who would give their own lives to be on that list. |
The planned National Dialog is on course. Jigawa State Governor is merely attempting to blackmail the committee with his talk. I say call his bluff, let's know who'll be worse for it. The less Hausa-Fulani at the conference , the better. Obviously, he's at his wit's end ruminating the possibility that oil money may stop flowing into his state. An advantage further entrenched by our doctored census that claims his state (carved out in 1991) is almost half as populous as Lagos State. In time, the truth will be out for all to see. I wholeheartedly support the National Dialog, for the simple reason that a particular region would rather not let the plan see the light of day There are skeletons in certain closets, no doubt. |
ilugunboy: You don land here again with your hypocritical nonsense abi?Ilugunboy, if you have a leash, throw it around Kayode's neck; I assure you you'll be doing your children a huge favor. ![]() |
“In a very short space of six months that Femi was Minister, he posted an enviable record in tribalism and nepotism when he employed a record 45 managers for different parastatals under the Aviation Ministry from his native Osun State. He went further to retire many officers of the director cadre, replacing them with incompetent cronies, girl friends and concubines. And he had the chutzpah to call for Princess Oduah's sack, a woman who has been nothing but dutiful and focused, attempting to untangle the mess he brought into the ministry |
Abati, where are you? Would have been a more pleasurable read had the article been written by Abati. ![]() |
I'm confused as to why this isn't on the front page already even though there's a dedicated thread album where the claims herein can easily be verified. Oh, it's not about a man killing his landlord. That's the kind of news that garners a large following around here. |
ilugunboy: Stop getting emotionally on the roller coaster. Are you inferring your people wear tribalism like a badge of honor? I won't jump to conclusions, but think through that assertion of yours while you're at the movies. ![]() |
Not at all. She has truly been working so hard to transform Nigeria's aviation sector. The result is there for all to see. The ministers who should be sacked immediately because they have not been working and some are indeed plotting against the success of the present administration are; Omobola Johnson. Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade Mrs. Olajumoke Akinjide Akinwumi Adeshina (Cautioned to raise food production or get the boot) Mr. Olusegun O. Aganga, is working, but i suspect him of dishonesty to the government he purports to serve.
I'm sort of impressed with Adesina. |
ilugunboy: Conjectural crap. From the same mind that asked: ilugunboy: What is wrong with tribalism?Smh. You're far gone, bro. Remedy not in sight ![]() |
ilugunboy: Lies.....quote where he admitted he flooded the ministry with his people. Admitting that he helped his people into the ministry is absolutely not the same as flooding the place with his people. He helped them into the ministry, so you say. Even though they weren't cream of the crop, nevertheless they found their way in because they had Father Abraham on top. I know you're desperate to dissolve away the enormity of that action, but like it or not, favoritism, nepotism will always be in the way of merit. Stella Odua is merely untangling his mess. |
ilugunboy: Hypocrisy will be your Waterloo....Actually, you should direct that observation to Kayode who openly admitted he flooded the ministry with people from Osun. Last time I checked there are 36 states in here, but he hired the vast majority from his home state. Tell, is there an aviation school in Osun? So why exactly did Kayode attempt to make the aviation industry under him the exclusive preserve of Osun indigenes. |
FreeGlobe: Nonsense, like their has not been incessant air crashes in this country prior to her being minister. Maybe you should blame FFK who recently admitted flooding the ministry with unqualified and incompetent staff from his osun state. She's trying to amend the rot in the system caused by Fani Kayode, Hyatt, Borishade, Agagu (RIP), etc. she's Nigeria's best aviation minister ever!Exactly. Stella began the mass sack of unproductive staff in her ministry, but a few people claimed the sack had tribal intents. Now... This. If she had simply been allowed to purge the aviation industry of bad eggs (those hirelings who issue airworthiness certificates in exchange for kickbacks), none of this will be happening. Plus, if her predecessors were driven by a sheer third of her passion, may be we'd still have our Nigerian Airways making us proud. |
Why even take FaniKayode's desperate suggestion seriously? A man who was temporarily barred from seeking public office on account of the millions of aviation funds he diverted to his pockets. If we didn't have corrupt law enforcement agents who reached a quid pro quo of some sort with him, he should probably be in jail by now. Stella Odua is one of the best aviation ministers so far. Period. |
Na Yoruba people I go miss die. Make you for near where them dey quarrel. You go talk "e don do" tire. "Ma soro" You no go fit hear yaself. 20 people no even fit die their matter. ![]() |
saintneo: replacing AfamYou don dey plot coup already? LOL |
@ OP: Nice initiative. Just revise the title to SS-Igbo and let's get talking. Except you actually want a conference of the old Eastern region. |
centje: except for the centenary city, other estates are privates. I must say that chime made a good use of the limited federal allocation and resources, channeling them to sectors that will attract investors. those estates arent springing up without foesight. emene industrial layout is rapidly taking shape. I just wish the stakeholders in enugu will come out with a blueprint on modern planning and developent of our satellite towns...nsukka, 9th mile, agbani, obollo, oji, emene, isi uzo as a whole, awgu. its not just constructing roads, but a well planned towns, medium scale ventures to encourage people to work in those towns rather than migrate to capital and add unnecessary pressure to facilities. large farms can be sited in places like adani and isi uzo. produce supplied to a large market in capital (ogbete could be moved to new market, expanded and well built to modern standard) remaining produce moved to other southeast state or transported out via rail (which will soon be completed) to south and north, a large amusement park could be built on the hills of nkwo, farm and facility for food storage could be built in nsukka, by this seasonal fruits can always be available. oji thermal station could be expanded, with current privatisation policy, at least lets give back value to our coal.+1 |
centje: I think rainy season could be the cause of delayed work on that road.I hope so oh. Can't wait to hear that road has been completed. |
Afam4eva: Nsukkka should be opened up cos it's at the other extreme end. But as for Agbani, it's in Nkanu and natural development will get there. It's even ahead of a lot of places in Enugu due to the fact that Nnamani sighted development there. I just think the rural parts of Enugu should be opened up through the building of roads and bridges.Agreed, Chimaroke sited a number of projects in Agbani, but there aren't enough facilities to encourage those working in Agbani to stay in Agbani. Most, even students, shuttle from Enugu to Agbani every day. Nsukka even has an advantage in that regard though more certainly needs to be done. Regarding rural roads and bridges, I think Sullivan is doing well enough. To access my village in Ikem, IsiUzo LGA, we used to travel to Nkalagu in Ebonyi state, then reroute back to Enugu via Eha-Amufu, taking about 2.5 hours. Whereas, an ongoing road project will reduce drive time to under 45minutes. The new route requires a lot of bridges, hence past administrations preferred to do simple, straightforward roads in other parts of the state instead. But, for the first time, Chime is actually working on that road although progress is at snail speed. |
Afam4eva: Are you from Agbani? I hope you're aware that Agbani enjoyed a lot under Chimaroke Nnamani. No I'm not. But Nsukka and Agbani are easily the next big towns after Enugu, and as such should enjoy an above-average government investment. BTW I think this is good enough for front page. |
