THE BEAUTIFUL SNAKE On my way home from school very early one morning -at about 5:30am- I ran into a snake along the small bushy part I ply home. It was the most beautiful snake I had ever seen. Its dominant colors were green and yellow –some parts darker than others. There were also some lemon-like patches on it. The mix of bright and flashy colors deceived my eyes such that I thought I saw some blue patches as well. Though I was at a safe distance away from it, but like Moses in the bible, curiosity made me draw nearer to see the great sight properly –how a snake can be that beautiful. As I drew closer, all common sense dissolved and the beauty made me forget the personality. The closer I moved, the nearer it drew towards me. “It must be harmless” I thought. When I was finally in front of it, I bent down and put my hand on it –around the middle section. It moved to my touch and slowly started curling round my hand. I placed the second hand on its head and pet it as I would have a dog. Just then, while I was now too comfortable, it struck the hand I was petting it with –sharply reminding me of its personality. I tried shaking it off but it was firmly wrapped around one hand and had its teeth buried in the other, gently releasing its venom. Gradually, my body began to go numb and my struggles started to cease. Just as I was about becoming unconscious, help came in form of a watchman bearing a lamp and a cutlass. He detached the snake from me, hacked it to death with his cutlass. He also sucked out the venom from my hand and took me to his house for further care. Maybe you are commenting on how foolish I was to play with a snake or how lucky I was to have been saved. Whichever the case may be, the story is not just about me. It’s about you, it’s about us all. Many believers are just like me. With the way sin is packaged and presented these days, many of us are easily deceived. We often allow the packaging to make us forget the package is still sin. We often get so deep in it until the rewards start to draw us back to our senses. At times, we even try to fight it afterwards but usually to no avail. Nevertheless, there is hope. The watchman (Jesus Christ) is still there to save you. He knows what you are going through and He will not leave you, but He needs your permission before He can save you. Will you permit Him? Or will you rather lie on the ground hopelessly until all is lost? Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let's not let it slip through our fingers. We don't have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He's been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let's walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help. HEBREWS 4:14-16 MSG Bible Copied Stay blessed and remain rapturable |
Make Your Life On Earth Count For Yourself And Others If it wasn't for the tombstones, we wouldn't know that some people were ever alive, what a tragedy. You should live so effectively that there wouldn't be any need for tombstone to mark your grave because your lifetime will be in the hearts and memories of those who could never forget you or what you did. Truly great people don't need monuments because we will always remember them. It doesn't matter if we don't know where the graves of David or Paul was, they lived so well that we can't forget them. If you live properly, history will not be able to ignore that you lived. Visions gives us assignment that will impact the earth. We must be able to say we have change the world in some way while we are here and that we have left a mark for those who will come after us. We are meant to do something in life that leaves nutrients for the seeds of the next generation to take root in and grow. The fact is, we will soon be gone from this earth, so let's make the few years we have on this side of eternity count. Let's discover and pursue the visions God has placed in our hearts as we leave a mark in the sand of time. Stay blessed and remain rapturable |
Which way Lord for this country? |
Smiles |
emmayayodeji:There are many factors responsible for this my friend, trust me God is none of them. I guess u waiting for God to prove Himself for u to have faith, doesn't work like that. If u want Him to prove Himself in your life then grow in ur Faith. |
I don't get at all, u rejected the money without seeing ur boss concerning ur grievances and u expected to be treated better when suspended. I think u should have humbled and respect ur boss enough to see him and probably get an explanation rather than showing attitude. Bro in the age and time in the country pray that ur job still awaits u while u be more humble in life. Stay blessed |
Danty37:U have been duly observed. |
I think the man will do better given the chance, he has got not much to lose. |
This is the more reason u have to get serious with God as "when u were a child u talked, walked and reason as a child, but now that u are an adult u put away childish things". Grow up and grow in God forsaking the elementary things of this world and see the Lord transforms ur life into a brown new one. |
God have mercy, the devil prowls about looking for whom to devour. Pray u don't fall victim |
Hmm, that teenage girl is not to be arrested for she is a victim. The police affirms she has been selling it for her mom for the past five years meaning she was just eleven by then. This means she was only a victim of child abuse which had gone on for too long, she need not be arrested but rehabilitated as she is just a minor. |
If this is true, then Nigeria is sitting on a keg of gun powder. |
Akshow:Smile, I guess u are living and know just a part of the country. What would u then say about the Fulanis? |
Kennitrust:Touching, but don't just relax and do nothing but be diligent to make ur call and election sure as u live daily for Christ. Wishing u all the best |

This is the generation Paul spoke about in the last days, indeed iniquity abound and the love of many for God and the things of God wax cold. NB Youth save yourselves from this untoward generation lest you be consumed in the coming wrath. |
youngest85:Also continue in denial if it was actually true? |
OLAADEGBU:and to add, should he continue in denial? |
Champions seize their day Famous successful men usually get up early, they get an early start everyday. You will be amazed how much you can accomplish when others are just beginning their day. Jesus rose early. "And in the morning rising up a great while before the day, He went out and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed," Mark 1:35. He consulted His Heavenly Father before consulting anyone else. He pursued the influence of God early. Little wonder He accomplished so much in three years of His ministry Joshua rose early. "And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priest took up the ark of the Lord," Joshua 6:12. Little wonder he conquered the whole promised land in a single campaign. Moses the great deliverer of the Israelites rose early, see Exodus 8:20. Abraham the great patriarch of the Jewish nation, rose early, see Genesis 19:27. You think more clearly in the morning, you can focus for your day is uncluttered. As you accumulate the emotions and stress of others throughout the day, the quality of your work usually deteriorates. Make the habit of being an early riser today and see your life transforms right before your eyes. Stay blessed and remain rapturable |
OLAADEGBU:Rightly put bro, God bless u. |
mykelmeezy:It's humanly possible to live without the obvious sins, I said this cos I noticed u didn't separate sin. Its a misconception to say all this are the same cos the bible never said that, there is a sin that leads to death and one that do not.1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 5:17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death. 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. 5:19 And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. There are obvious sins as listed in Galatians 5, and there are some that are not so obvious, but remember all unrighteousness is sin. So its very possible to do away with the obvious sins, but those that are not obvious might not even be sin to all but the individuals that are being dealt by the Holy Spirit. One thing is sure, no one born of God continue to sin nor sin intentionality, and what we call sin can and sometimes are relative I.e depending on the individual. stay blessed. |
mykelmeezy:I will enjoin u to humble urself and listen, u made a statement that one can be sure of not remaining in sin. This is what the scripture is about, there is a difference between committing sin and living in sin, unbelievers live in sin cos its a lifestyle while believers might commit sin cos is no lifestyle but they humble themselves and do not remain in it. So no one should hide under the façade that we are all sinners to continue in sin. And mind u there is something we call sanctification which when one attains sin no longer becomes an issue cos he is constantly walking in the spirit not gratifying the lust of the flesh. Salem |
mykelmeezy:Hope u have a bible, so let's read 1 John 3:9 together and slowly for comprehension " Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God". |
Everybody is tempted Temptation is the presentation of evil. It is an opportunity to choose temporary pleasure rather than permanent gain. You will experience many seasons during the course of your life. Satan is a master artist. Jesus experienced a relentless and persistent adversary, the devil. It happened after He had fasted for 40days and 40nights. His defense was quite simple: the written word. Read Matthew 4:1-11. The graveyard is full of people who failed to resist Satan. The prisons are overcrowded with people too weak to stand against him. Dreams crash daily on the rock of temptation. Move the ship of your life away from those those rocks. Ask Samson and he will tell you . "One night of pleasure is not worth a lifetime of blindness". Do not let your life be cut short, fight back, Jesus did and we are the result of His resistance. Amberon11:Sorry I am just seeing this, hence my just replying. The bible is so clear about rapture that after I saw things myself I wondered why we just have to believe wrongly for so long. Just to make it short for time constraint, the bible says Christ will jot return until two things happen, there will be a great fall away of many from the faith and the son of perdition who is the Antichrist shall be revealed. 2 Thessalonians 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; I think this is so clear for all to understand, tho we have been misled for so long but its never too late to make amends.
