Sir,

You neglected the place I asked about the role of Moses and Elijah in the death of Christ.

I am sure you never read where I said you mentioned worshipping stops within? I only asked you how it manifests itself outside because I assumed (you didn't say) you know that it doesn't stop within. And to this you have given me answers including singing, praising, kneeling, bowing, praying etc. Thank You. Now, all these that you have mentioned are manifestations of 'interior' worship. Can I ask you this whether everyone doing any of those things is truly worshipping.

You have assumed I don't worship Mary. I do worship her. Veneration is also a form of worship. You should ask "do I worship Mary the same way I worship God?" And I will answer no, to God have I reserved the highest form of worship which is total submission and abandonment to his will.

Worship to me can be seen as either of ''the showing of great love, devotion and respect for someone or someone"

Smile, u worship mary, well enough thats what u guys n u seem to be d first to admit to me anyways.

Worshiping mary in any form is sacrligious irrespective of ow u try to differentiate worship, cos no where in d scripture support that.

And to answer ur question whether any one doing dose things is automatically worshiping, the answer is NO cos u can do those things with ur eart not being in it.

How about this example. Imagine this man while carrying doing his job as an airline security employee charged with the duty of bagage inspection, someone offered him a small bribe to allow to him carry a quantity of palm oil that is more than the amount of liquids he is allowed on the flight. Now his better judgement was to decline, but on remembering that his daughter is in desperate need for an operation that he doesn't have the money for, he rationalised that it is just food, there surely can't be any harm done if he allowed the passanger to have his bottle of palmoil, moreover he has pressing needs for the money. Then it was announced after a few hours that the plane blew up half way through its journey. And it was subsequently established that the bomb that brought the plane down was smuggled unto the plane disguised as a bottle of palm oil.
Obviously the security man will feel devastated with guilt that his apparently innocuous lapse of judgement has cost hundreds of lives.
For such a man in the sight of God, I believe there exist a pathway for his savation if he is repentant, remorseful, and reports himself and his actions to the authorities.
Now contrast this tale with another where the security guard knowingly allowed a bomb to be smuggled into a plane after he was offered the kind of money he had always dreamt of having to live a good life.
I believe that a person like that have no path to salvation even if he later comes to regret his action or feel remorseful after seeing hundreds of bodies from the accident on tv.
My point is that Jesus came for the unrighteous humans who by nature will always fall short of God's standard. He did not come to save the wicked pharisee-like people whom he called serpents, broods of vipers. He pronounced woe on them instead of calling for their repentance. Read Matthew chapter 23.

Hmm, the two sceneros u painted is a sin of the flesh cos its only man alone that can sin d sin of d flesh n not spirits. The 2 men would b forgiven if they 'repented' and ask forgiveness, note I said repented n not remorseful.

Once u are a man n u have nt cross d borderline of d sin against the Holy Spirit which by d way its nt an easy sin to commit. Sinning against the Holy Spirit is not a sin u commit in ignorance, u must have come to know the secret of the devil as stated in the book of revelation.

So in conclusion on the example u cited, d issue is repentance or just being remorseful n not d sin of d flesh cos both are sin of the flesh.

1 John 3:4King James Version (KJV)
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law
Religion / Re: Would Judas Had Been Forgiven If He Asked Forgiveness? by PastorOluT(m): 11:10am On Dec 22, 2015
dorox:
Judas sin is a classic example of sinning agains the holy spirit, there is no forgiveness for it. Why not? You might wonder. To answer that we must first understand why we sin and why God has made provisions for our sin to be forgiven.
The simple reason why we sin is because of our imperfection which we inherited from Adam. Hence no matter how hard we try to be righteous, we will always remain short of God's righteous standard. That is why Paul in Romans 7:21 said that although he tries to do good, evil is present within him. It is as if there is another law operating within us that pushes us to sin even as we delight in doing what is good.
So we sin not because we want to, but because of the law of the flesh that is within us as a result of our imperfect human condition which makes us susceptible to sin. And God is ready to forgive such sins on the basis of the ransome sacrifice of Jesus if we repent and ask for forgiveness.
Judas sin was not as a result of the weakness of the flesh, it was deliberate and willful just like satan's rebellion against God. On the other hand Peters denial of christ was as a result of human weakness.

Pls what do u mean Judas sin is not as a result of the weakness of the flesh?
Religion / Re: Would Judas Had Been Forgiven If He Asked Forgiveness? by PastorOluT(m): 11:08am On Dec 22, 2015

I quite agree with you on the "remorse" as against repentance. Here's a commentary by John Macarthur

Judas’s remorse was not repentance of sin, as
the King James version suggests. Matthew did not
use metanoeo, which means a genuine change of
mind and will, but metamelomai, which merely
connotes regret or sorrow. He did not experience
spiritual penitence but only emotional remorse.
Although he would not repent of his sin, he could
not escape the reality of his guilt. Genuine sorrow
for sin (metamelomai) can be prompted by God
in order to produce repentance (metanoeo), as
Paul declares in 2 Corinthians 7:10. But Judas’s
remorse was not prompted by God to lead to
repentance but only to guilt and despair.

Only that in this case also, one must note that the repentance can only be aided by God for no man can come to the father except he (God) draws him to himself. This does not necessarily suggest that God is chasing such away (in deed) but that you can't reach him unless draws you (in deed) to himself.

Take Pharaoh for example. If it was not expressly written that God hardened his heart (after Pharaoh's own evil nature and intent) and somehow someone suggested it, we "might" not accept it because that will make God appear somehow.

Well,if you ask me,it would have been him. If there is any of the animals that would return to the vomit,it would be the dog. So,if there's a dog among the animals,it doesn't have to be compelled,it will play its role.

Grace to you in Jesus name. Amen.

Agreed, going by ur example, Judas was a dog amidst d 12 which was why he was the one to betray the master. If we go by that then it would be assumed Judas has no choice right from the onset?

Is that what u mean when u said it must be Judas?

I love the part where you said worship flows from within, but then it doesn't stop within it flows outwards. Sir, are you finding it difficult to share your knowledge? How does the flow manifest itself outside? If it ends within how then are you able to differentiate between 'God-worship' and 'mary-worship'? Do you search all hearts and examine all motives?

Smile, u want to put words in my mouth. Did I ever mention worship stoping within? "Worship is a thing of the heart but does not end there, it flows from within outward as we all take different form of worship. Forms like singing, praises, bowing, kneeling etc and even prayers"

Everyone knows what worship is so cut the crap.

NB I am quite familiar with ur tact, u are not worshiping mary only venerating her?

Ok pls tell me what worship means to u since u are trying to prove a point?

Thank you for elaborating, but you see my friend, the Op's dilemma is entirely on a different page from your story, because in this case, they had a real interaction with the hunters.

They saw the hunters and their presence wasn't in any doubt, they didn't need faith to recognize them and accept what they were saying, so even if they weren't asking the right questions in that scenario, I'd understand.

I 'd like to come to the conclusion that the Op seems puzzled, and I think in this case, the first step is questioning the source of the puzzle.

Whether the questions are right or wrong should be subject to the answers available if she finds them.

Its not different at all cos in as much as u are asking the wrong questions u will never get the right results, in fact it will plunge the 'asker' into deeper errors as more wrong questions be asked.

NB Ok why do we ask questions? Is it not because we want the right answers, except its an act of hypocrisy? So why ask a wrong question expecting a right answer?

Please sir, in what context was Jesus talking to Elijah and Moses? I mean, what does the previous verse to the verse you quoted say.

Was Jesus conversation with them a part of the prayer or had Jesus finished praying before he started talking to them?

Or could his conversation with them have been a part of his prayers?

Yes His conversation with them came at the time of prayers alright as the preceeding verse(s) suggested, bt that did not in anyways prove a point that He was seeking or praying to them. They simply came to deliver a msg.

Divine encounters can come anytime be it in prayers or otherwise, one has received visions, revelations, trance etc at whatever time aside prayers. In the scriptures most people that encountered supernatural beings werent prayin nor seeking.

NB They simply came to deliver a msg, just like Gabriel to mary n Elizabeth.

Thanks so much for that honest answer.

They were discussing about his coming death according to the bible. What could possibly be the role of Moses and Elijah (who are dead as at this time) in the coming death of Jesus?

As for worship, you can do well to refer me to where you explained it, at least I can know what constitutes worship and how I should worship God.

What constitute worship? I never defined bt only refered to a bible n dictionary.

NB And as for ow u should worship, it is innate, the expression just flows from within as a result of encountring Christ.

But I will oblige ur second question on what Jesus was discussing with them.

And, behold there talked with Him two men, which were Moses and Elias: Who appeared in glory, and spake of His decease which He should accomplish at Jerusalem Luke 9:30-31.

U see they were discussing His crucifision, not Him praying to them or seeking some help!

Urmmm,

I'm sorry

I don't mean to be rude, but how did you arrive that premise?

To say that a human with free will and a functioning brain doesn't have the capacity to ask the right questions about his supposed maker is quite a huge statement you know.

Perhaps you should clarify or give reasons, if you don't mind smiley

I appreciate u for ur patience n response, knowing NL for what it is, many would have responded with insults.

Now my statement was never meant to be an insult, or lead to provocations if it is well understood.

When we come to understand some things the kind of questions we ask will defer from that we ask before, n also see our folly in asking those questions. We "can't" ask the right questions concerning some issues no matter ow earnest we are till will acquire sufficient knowledge, hence lacking capacity to ask the right questions.

Now let me give a little story to butress my point. Some group of persons got lost in the wilderness n after some time got furtunate to be found by some hunters. They quickly told the hunters where they were headed, but interestingly the hunter told them they couldnt get to where they were going from here bt would have to go back to some certain mountain and trace their way to their destination. So it is with us, many of us always start from the wrong point, place, questions etc, bt the truth remains that we can never get results till we go back to that particular mountain n see things quite diferently.

There's this my neighbour's son that's stubborn.

What bothers me more is the way he talks to his mum. He's about 16years old and in SS3 but I tell you, when he's angry, he'll shout his mum down no matter what she says to him.

He once said to the mum "if you dare touch me with that cane, I'll collect it and beat you", the mum had to seek for help from a neighbour.

Before now, the father could tame him but it seems that he has outgrown his father's control too...

He just made pronoucements like "God punish you" (Abasi umia ufen) to his younger sister who is barely 5years old. When his father scolded him, he shouted back at his father in a very violent manner and they're still exchanging words right now. I'm personally afraid from my compound...

I had to tell my sister that if this boy is not tamed, in the next two years, he'll beat everyone in that house...

Please, what could have caused this attitude? and what can be done to put this nasty behaviour on check before it gets out of hand? I'm personally afraid for his parents.

U might not want to hear this , bt d truth is they need divine intervention, they need to serious pray for the boy before things go out of cos this aint ordinary. Though youthful exuberance is known at that age but nt this level, this is abnormal n beating or thratening him will only aggraviate things.

The parents should be real prayerful n get him to be saved, also if the parents are not saved they should do that ASAP before the devil destroy d family for the signs are written all over.

I hope you know that attending church doesn't make you a Christian? being born by Christian parents doesn't make you a Christian? Christianity is not an automatic faith. You grow to choose or reject. so how do you get a whole community to be Christians.

We are Christians and not Muslims, we don't conquer and lockup communities and tag them "Christian Community" We allow people make Choices base on love and acceptance.
How many born again Christians are in a family? Is it possible to have every family member to be born again, all at once?

Our faith is individualistic. A Mother can be a Christian and the father is not. Children can be, while their parents are not.

Pls dear, the person who gave that project has a muslim mentality. We don't enforce our faith. We don't conquer and lock up, that's not God, that's occultic and its Satanic.

You can keep people under ur claws, but you can't keep them under your love.

After many years of "Pentecostals" demonizing Catholics for the practice of Canonization of Saints, one of their most revered "pastors" Adeboye, has now declared that he has no doubt that HID Awolowo is in heaven (the same thing that the Pope does in a Canonization).

Now the same "Pentecostals" that call the Pope and the Church evil for daring to declare that a person is in heaven...are telling those criticizing Adeboye not to speak ill of a "man of God."

Does Adeboye now believe in Canonization of Saints or does he believe that his own Canonization is holy and that of the Pope is evil?

This is the same hypocrisy that pentecostal exhibit on virtually every Catholic doctrine. E.g Holy Communion, Celebration of Christmas, Easter etc. They criticize...then they copy it.

Truth is, I don't really know. IMO however,I'll say peter and judas are the two extremes if the disciples are to be numbered 1...12.

I've always been of the opinion that our strength and weaknesses are linked.

My opinion of their strength is that Peter has self confidence and he is outspoken (and he's also a risk taker) WHILE Judas is a financial expert hence his being the treasurer.

Peter's self confidence was what made him boast that though others betray Jesus,he will not...but soon enough his weakness surfaced as his strength was tested.

Judas' strength is tied to a much bigger obstacle. That which men will worship without knowing. MONEY. (ye cannot serve God and money at the same time).

The money ruled over him. He was deceived as he didn't know how far it can lead him (as we can see that he also repented. He returned the money BUT couldn't believe how far he had been dragged into the mess so he gave up)

Well,I think he was the most suitable (and available person) for the position.

I quite agree with ur summation, bt that Judas repented I dont. He was just being remorseful of his action when one is bound to when he is caught, which do not mean one wont continue if not caught. This is just like the case of an armrobber who when caught would regret his actions bt wouldnt hesitate when another opportunities to rob comes again.

And for him being d most suitable among d 12 to betray d Lord, I agree bt it shouldnt had been him for tho one would be d culprit bt it could be anyone. Judas has every opportunities every other person had, so it wasnt a must for him.

Now d prophecy only reveal d person of Judas not that it compel or made it mandatory for him to betray d master. Him betraying d master was as a result of his person or xter as u rightly pointed out in ur previous post.

Stay blessed bro n compliment of d season

You are mixing hypothesis with facts. It is a fact Judas rebelled and thus perished, you are hypothesizing his repentance. This can't be mixed with the fact of his perishing
