Someone clearly explained here that FDJ is at his boyhood club, one that is in the UCL and with a better chance to win trophies compared to ours hence the difficulty is convincing him to join us thereby opting for UEL football...Also,there's a case of agreeing a deal with Barcelona who rightly see him as one of their prized assets (They got him for £65m)...It is always going to take time.

2) But the club has been negotiating for at least 3 players (FDJ, Timber, Nunez) for at least 1 month now.

These 2 statements can't both be true. It is either the club is not active cos they are waiting for ETH to complete his assessment OR they are negotiating for these players.

And this assessment, is it in pre-season, friendlies, or competitive games?

It was reported that ETH wants to assess the players in our books before making a decision on their future...The future of most of our current players depends on his assessment which in turn affects our transfer activity...Or you think not? Whatever means he wants to use to assess the players is not really my business...

It was also reported that we have submitted an offer for FDJ...I don't think we made a bid for Nunez, I think we enquired and it was clear he wanted a team in the UCL, as for Timber, nothing concrete...One can understand easily that FDJ was requested by ETH to replace Pogba and the Nunez enquiry was necessary as we didn't know if Ronaldo will stay or leave. Timber? Nothing concrete for now...

You believe that we are making moves based on REPORTS even when only that of FDJ has been followed up with a bid but you don't want to believe the other REPORTS where ETH was quoted as saying he needs to assess the players first before making a decision on whether or not he'll work with them...

If you don't think that is enough reasons for us to be moving slowly, I can only say I respect your opinion...

I think Bissouma and Bruno will improve the midfield but the problem is probably the cost. being that they already are in the EPL, their clubs will try to be unreasonable with pricing.

scouting for academy is great too, I think time will tell if there's progress there. Hannibal will probably be a testament shortly.

80m on de Jong is steep and I'd rather take a walk. we can get two quality midfielders for that price if we get our bearings right.

Rashford and Martial are done. let's just move on from unseriousness early enough for once in this club.

I wouldn't mind if we shipped both or either of Rashford or Martial out but to this point, nothing suggest we are seriously giving it a thought...The biggest stumbling block is that wages that means it's either ETH finds a way to bring out the best in them or we lose them on a free...I think we might settle for giving them one more season in hope that they rediscover their form else we stand a chance of losing them for free in a couple of years time...

Our net spend is high because either lose players on a free or for less of their value. It's painful when you co sider how much we pay to get the players here...

I am not passing any judgement until the window ends. They should just know that they have to support the new manager with very good buys. All this talk about him being able to work wonders with the current squad is alarming. His name is Eric ten Hag not Prof Peller.

At this point, I am very careful not to fall for the usual media reportage...

For now, I think the scouts are focused on identifying players for the academy...

As for the willingness of the board to spend, the fact that we are quoted as willing to pay over 80m for FDJ suggest the board are willing ho stump the cash...There's talk of Timber and Anthony so, that's over 150m if completed...

I am sure that we will sign a LB and possibly a CM assuming we get the already rumored targets...I think ETH might settle for Martial or Rashford as a CF...
