I talked about hype regarding Maguire because you brought in Koulibaly as if he was the only other good CB around. Bissaka was the most popular among the lots when he was signed as well. Out of all the Right backs, they went for the obvious, popular one that they thought would also be an England international.

So a scout brings a list of CBs at that point with equal or better qualities at that point. We'll go for Maguire. If Maguire wasn't available and it was Kiloubaly that was in that list, they'll go for him.

That's 5 incomings. We shouldn't forget that with the likes of Pogba, Lingard, Matic, Mata, Bailly, and Cavani leaving as well as the possibility of AWB, Telles/Shaw, Martial, Ronaldo? and Rashford leaving, we will be saving alot from their weekly wages thus the possibility signing 6 - 7 players isn't farfetched...

Hopefully Garner, Tuanzebe, Amad, Laird and Williams will serve as good options from the bench...

Williams and Laird should be ready as back up at least. Dalot and Telles will most likely remain.
we need a good team playing pattern. if roles are defined, some players can look better than they actually are.

I agree completely with your last sentence however, I don't think Telles is suited for the physicality and pace of the EPL...I am willing to give Dalot another try with Laird as backup...

United must get rid of AWB, Telles, Shaw, Bailly, Maguire at all cost. Get solid replacement for Matic, Mata and Pogba.

We can do with Academy Graduates to cover for RB and LB. Laird can compete with Dalot. Fernandez and Williams can compete for LB.

Pau Torres seems a target, hopefully he's not gonna flop. €20m + Bailly should be a fair deal to get Pau Torres.

Academy graduates to cover for LB and RB? I don't think it's a good move, as back ups then fine but not as starters. We need to sign quality full backs...

Doc, I am quietly optimistic going by some of the changes and departures we are witnessing...I am happy that Ten Hag will have a strong say in who goes and who comes and the changes in the scouting department. Hopefully, it will see us spend wisely and on the right players...

See Brighton posing better full backs than Manchester United. I am certain those guys combined don't cost as much as AWB...

Why is it that the new persons coming into the club are specifically demanding total control? Rangnick did it, ETH too has done it.

The way the club has been set up, the players are simply more powerful than the coach, and they have the media solidly behind them. It’s just not easy. If you bin them for younger players, they find a way to get you kicked out. If you play them, they can’t keep up with instructions. Then you have the faces in top management, the ones we don’t see.

Even Ronaldo had similar issues when he joined and was making demands from them on the pitch. Have you noticed that he doesn’t complain like before anymore? Man has realized that things are simply not as it used to be when he left.

Even Bruno doesn’t complain anymore. Nobody wants to be the target of a rebellion. DDG can talk as much as he wants because he’s in-between the sticks and has spent over a decade here.

If an incoming coach has to specifically ask for “total control” in his contract, that’s enough to tell you how rotten the club is.

He stuck with the senior players to what end? At some point, a coach has to make that tough decision.

Talking about control over incomings and outgoings, I think Rangnick and LVG as well as some ex players must have spoken to Ten Hag because ordinarily, ETH has not gotten to the level where he can force the club to stick to his terms or bounce...

Erik Ten Hag shouldn't even think of going on holidays, the task ahead of him is huge. We have to start and conclude our deals early enough to make room for integration during the preseason...I trust that by now Rangnick must have spoken with Erik and the senior management of the club on who should be sold or have his contract terminated...We can't keep players who are not ready to fight for the badge...

This conference league is a competition almost everybody here has ridiculed before, but now you are claiming that it is because of Mourinho.

Ever before Mourinho’s team got to this stage people have been mocking that league. Saying the league is a lower level competition is just a fact.

The Europa league is already maligned enough not to talk of a competition whose winners reward is merely entry into the Europa League.

I used the Ronaldo example with the nations league to highlight why the Conference league is not to be ridiculed.

In Italy, Inter, Juve, Ac Milan, Napoli and Atalanta have better teams than Roma and it wasn't Mou that took Roma to the Conference league so, I don't get why guys are trying to belittle the competition just to spite Mou. He beat Leicester and not an obscure team from Eastern Europe.

The man has been gradually building local support across the south recently. That people here are just glossing over him is very funny indeed.

DonJ, a lot of folks rate Peter Obi but the truth is that as long as the PDP and APC goes, you can't fly either flag without spending some hard cash. This is reality.
