Modric is a good midfielder, his performance in the world cup came with big chances created, assists and crucial goals, which fetched him accolades that he never had before. Same as Zidane's top performances in crucial matches with goals, chances created and assists. That's what made Lampard to drown Scholes in hot waters.

Some arguments are just not worth it. Scholes only sin was coming from England where midfielders are celebrated for for scoring goals rather than dictating the play. Spatial awareness, passing and control of the game is what you use to rate MIDFIELDERS. Scholes is better than Lampard, Gerrard and Fabregas.

The funny thing here is that I am seeing folks who frown at stats when used to define Hazard use the same metric to drag Scholes...

When you say Bellingham is technically superb, what exactly do you mean? How is his passing? Dribbling? defending? And so on...

You're right, but I think it depends on the setup. A winger cutting inside creates space for the fullback to utilize for crosses into the box, else they'll be getting in each other's way. This is the modern way of footie and most top teams do it.

You are right, modern football has moved past wingers that are adept at hugging the touch line. Most wingers who play that way end up as fullbacks nowadays; Valencia with us and Jesus Navas at City and now Sevilla.
Daniel James might end up as a fullback is he doesn't improve his attacking play in the long run.

Camavinga is one for the future. I saw him against PSG and he dominated the midfield that day. Having said that, if his village people are not in control of his life he needs to stay away from the EPL or La Liga for a couple of years.
The way he uses that his left foot reminds me of Redondo.

I wouldn't mind if he joins a big team now but definitely not PSG. The best move for him would be Dortmund at this point but if Manchester United are serious, then I wouldn't mind.
