Those praising Leicester and Rodgers aren't doing so because they want Rodgers here but what they're trying to show you is that Rodgers has improved Leicester since joining them.
When you watch Leicester City, you see imprints of his philosophy, the way they keep the ball has improved...
Leyqute: Bro. We need midfielders and strikers. That’s the fact.
Be like say OGS dey give these players opportunity to see who dey capable or not. If new striker come now, Rashford or Martial go chop bench tire. Greenwood will be a part player. He won’t play a lot of games.
Matic knows his time is up. So does Mata. Once Pogba returns from injury Matic will be relegated to the bench.
I personally think OGS should buy an AM since he desperately wants to play 4-2-3-1. Mata and Lingard no be am.
The new striker is likely going to be Calum Wilson or DCL of Everton.
inFamouz: Lol. after buying a player from them for 85mil, we still are still behind them in player quality, is dis a joke
What you highlighted said we are not behind them in player quality. I am certain we have a better individuals than Leicester City and at least on par with Chelsea and Arsenal...
Why are still struggling as a team is a mystery to me...
ChristoBam: If you mean top 4 would be difficult for the contenders except from City and Liverpool, then you're right. I think the contenders right now except from the obvious are Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal and Leciester.
United will find it difficult to make top 6 this season.. Top 4 is out of discussion.
I'll be very disappointed if we don't make top 4...Leicester is balling, you can spot an improvement in their play and their signings speaks to the kind of football Rodgers wants them to play.
As much as some of our players are bad, I expect Ole to find a winning solution or quit. Arsenal, Chelsea (They are playing well but the cracks are still they especially defensively), Spurs and Leicester City are not miles ahead of us in player quality...
raumdeuter: VVD is not a level above Trent or Matip. They are all on the same level with Alisson Fabinho and Robertson being better than others
Hehehe Matip along with TAA are the weakest link in that otherwise compact defense. Robertson is great though but I won't put him on the same level with VDD but he is above TAA in the way he balances attack and defense... Yesterday, all Sheffield United did to a long ball down his wing and every time he was caught up field, Klopp had to instruct Hendo to cover for him.
Allison and VDD are up there with the best closely followed by Robertson then TAA...I don't rate Matip.
A40: VVD is better obviously but thus far this season I will choose Matip. Though best CB is not decided in September so let's wait and see
What's abundantly clear is he is surrounded with excellent defenders but always gets sole credit
Messi hasn't won anything yet with Argentina because the Argentine team isn't quite as good as any Barca team he has played with.
Ronaldo too has always been surrounded by great players.
Boateng had Lahm and Alaba as well as Neuer...
Ramos at some point has Varane, Marcelo, Carvajal. At some point, he had Pepe, Carvalho and Casillas.
Vidic had Ferdinand, Evra, Neville and Van Der Sar.
All the players above had players of similar level beside them but we still praised them. Why is VVD's case now an issue even when he is obviously a level above those around him bar Allison?
A40: I was not talking about last season. That's why I said from the start of this season
Messi and Ronaldo's contributions were not over hyped. VVD's own are. That's why in a recent poll of greatest PL defenders Van Dijk was second overall behind Vidic. Do you agree with that? Do you agree after Vidic it's Van Dijk
VVD deserves all the plaudits...What do you define by struggles, he made a mistake vs Napoli but who hasn't made mistakes before? If you had the chance to pick between VVD and Matip at the moment, will you opt for Matip? And if you are asked who is the best CB currently, who's going to be your pick?
badmrkt: Ben Ayade of Cross River State. Man is worst than all those mentioned above. You won't know until you are in Calabar. Seems Cross Riverians are not bothered. Why should i.
You are spot on. Ayade is the worst governor presently...
Thomas Partey was great yesterday, he can be a little hot headed but he is definitely one to keep an eye on...Matic, should be binned for him come summer.
Some folks just want to argue, Matic made one or two defensive clearances however he was guilty of giving the ball away at least twice which almost cost Liverpool.
VVD on the other hand cut out 2 dangerous crosses that would most likely have led to goal scoring opportunities. He was solid in defence and created a very good chance for Mane to open the scoring with a great pass from defence.
Since TAA had a below average game, na Matip them want hype now.
SkimpleD: At some point I literally yelled. The entire front line was so far from each other. Modric was handed free role where as Hazard was on lock down for the entirety of the match.
For me, it's purely down to Zidane's instructions because we all know how Hazard loves to roam the field of play. Zidane should encourage them to interchange positions often. Hazard had Trippier and Koke and at some point Thomas on his case, the sensible thing to do was to swap his position with that of Bale who is more direct. Atletico's left side is the weakest but then it was left unexploited until Modric who had the freedom to roam the pitch came on.
Hazard on his part needs to force the hand of Zidane by going against his instruction if that's the case.
SkimpleD: I am no fan of hazard. I state things the way they are. Dude plays well, he gets a praise from me, does otherwise, I won’t stop to call him out.
How were they not playing from the halfway line with Benz constantly returning to the midfield to get balls? Hazard mostly hugged the wing-line all thru the match and I am wondering what kind of tactics Zidane employed to see off Athletico.
I wonder why there's little or no movement up front and interchanging of positions by the front three. Hazard was mostly stationed on the left, Bale on the right and Benzema through the middle. For the entirety of Hazards time on the pitch, I think he only combined with Bale once or twice and that's not good enough, as a coach, you want your best players playing close each other. When Modric came on, he had the kind of freedom most folks want to see Hazard have, he was everywhere.
I feel Zidane should let the front three freely interchange position to get the best out of them.
afrodoc2: Pep’s village people work for him, not against him. He dodged a bullet with him, same way he dodged a bullet with Alexis Sanchez.
Fred’s problems have nothing to do with our play. His ball control is not clean enough and he does not shield the ball well. He is lightweight physically and gets pushed off the ball often without the ref coming to his rescue. He becomes jittery when the opposition presses him and is a liability in our half.
As a senior member of the team, costing 50m and coming in with the reputation of a Brazilian international he has been a disgrace. I would not say disappointment cos i never really expected much from him.
I agree Fred has limitations but which player has improved after joining us?
Chelseafan1: Foolish idiot, Mane, Salah according to the popular FPL that almost everyone here, including you, play are listed as midfielders....you're just a goat.
Seriously, I don't understand Bayern here, Ter Stegen deserves to start ahead of Neuer but I feel the whole brouhaha is just so that so much pressure is on Ter Stegen. It happened with De Gea and Casillas, every mistake will be highlighted so much so that Ter Stegen is dropped...
Legends should know when to say it's time or at least play second fiddle...
elrony: It's not like Bissaka doesn't put in attacking shift, he does; most times the fools we parade as attackers will either squander his end product or will be missing in the box.
If we had better players he would easily be on 3 or 4 assists by now. I can remember the Beans crew denying him at least two assists in a match.
Carry those flying FB put for this our team, them go suffer.
He ain't the best perhaps, but can he improve?....yes he can. I believe.
My brother, before I say I concur, make I first appreciate you for always being civil...If we ever meet, I go like brew you...
Wan-Bissaka will improve in the near future, I want really want him to improve just so we have that position locked down.
elrony: Do you have wing forwards like that of City and Liverpool to bring out the attacking side of his game, no matter how limited it might be?
Let everyone improve, if not with time, we'd be back to questioning our fullbacks when our forwards improve...
You have to watch PSG's 3rd goal against Madrid to understand how much the roles of fullbacks have changed, they are an important aspect of the attacking play of teams like Bayern, Juventus, Barcelona, City, Madrid and Liverpool...
