afrodoc2: I hear Pogba might get some minutes today. Likely to be ready against Arsenal.
Rashford is likely out for several weeks. The guy was being overplayed IMO and that is what led to this injury.
Not sure when Drs Shaw and Martial will go on leave from the hospital. Hehehe Maybe we have to write to the hospital management board...They're being overworked, they need to proceed on leave ASAP. |

Teacher1776: "Drive away the hawk before coming back to query your chicks for wandering far away from home." Faahola is asking state governments hoping to get repayments for maintaining Fed roads to stay away? This shows that the federal government refusal to repair failed portions of our highways are deliberate. Would state governors who have plenty of other works to do be going to repair federal roads if the federal government is heeding to calls to get them maintained. Activities of FERMA is non existent in the south south and south east. How else do you explain the poor state of federal roads in this region? If u imagine the suffering people pass thru on the highway. u will wonder if there is even a government in Nigeria. Let me ask this loud and clear.
DO WE HAVE A GOVERNMENT IN NIGERIA? You don't understand, the state governor's rather than fix state road jump at every opportunity to fix federal roads should they can quote and overbloated amount when asking for refunds. It's just the way they scam the FG. If federal roads in your state is bad, it's the duty of your representatives, senators, governors and those with the necessary reach to draw the attention of the FG to fix it. |

afrodoc2: I get what you are saying and it makes sense, but If we keep using youth players in these cups the club might benefit from the experience they gain.
I expect many youth team players to be involved today. Garner, Levitt, Mellor, Chong, Gomes, Williams suspension) all missed our last under 23 game. I am not sure Ole would like to risk Greenwood with his recent illness and Jim being the only CF we have right now with senior experience. The issue now is that those youngsters might be needed for the league and Europa league if our injury woes persist...Any update on Martial, Rashford (a pity I want him back after his woeful displays), Pogba and Shaw's injury? |

Leyqute: Imagine it’s Man Utd. The uproar would be huge.
I keep saying it. Man Utd is a huge club, any loss will be treated as a crisis.
And those pundits are useless. They change their opinion every matchday. Last year, Liverpool crashed out of the Caraboa cup and FA cup quite early and in hindsight, I believe it helped them push for the EPL and UCL trophy... With our current situation, I really don't think we need the distraction of the Caraboa and even FA cup, we should just concentrate on winning the Europa league or finishing top 4 so we can't attract quality players come next summer. |

tenmariner: Dalot is very poor defensively and fairly good in the attack. Do u think it would v been a wise decision to have him permanently positioned at that right back. Examine all the one on one AWB defended and imagine if it was dalot. I however agree he can be an option moving forward. It's all about priority... |

afrodoc2: Greenwood needs game time while he develops physically and mentally. He is not likely to get that regular game time as CF so he can get minutes as a RW. Chong has looked more impressive on the left as you said but from his youth team exploits he can also do a job on the right.
At least both of these guys are forwards who have real potential to develop to top class players. Dalot is just good on the overlap and does not have the skill set a top team needs in a wing forward.
The Mata extension is one of the major reasons i have stayed away from any Ole out/ Ole in debates here. It makes no sense and those guys will be the ones to finish him, but hey at least a man should be able to choose in what way he wants to die. That Mata renewal was really a step in the wrong direction...I just hope Chong and Greenwood make it here. For our LB, I think I have had enough of Shaw. |

afrodoc2: If he is not going to be the long term solution why waste him there? I thought this season was meant to be for laying long term foundations? I would rather try Chong and/or Greenwood there instead of Dalot. Those ones still have the potential of making it as RWFs and IMO Dalot is not even much better (if at all) than them right now. I will prefer if Greenwood develops as a striker or SS. Chong looks better on the left even though he has the tools to own the RW. In all, I'd rather have Dalot or the youngsters man the RW rather than Lingard/Mata, in fact the only reason I brought up Dalot is because I don't want Lingard or Mata starting for us. |

OR
Since we've no RW, we should change our formation and the way we play, maybe go with two strikers in a diamond or 3-5-2 with Rojo and Dalot as wingbacks and Bissaka as one of the CB's. Yes, that 3-5-2 looks good considering the quality of players we've got. |

No wahala sha I know you like Dalot, but Dalot with Lindelof on that side, we would have conceded more goals than what we have presently. Can you confidently say we would have scored more? Don't misunderstand me, I only said we could easily have done with Dalot for the season and used to fund to address more pressing issues. Dalot is good going forward. He has the flair. But are we to take Dalot over Aaron? I really like Wan-Bissaka but if I were Ole, I'd have started the season with Dalot as my RB and used the funds for Wan-Bissaka to get a midfielder but since we have Wan-Bissaka now, I'd prefer we play Dalot in front of him rather than Lingard, Pereira or Mata. |

Years have gone by and with it, the demands for a full back has changed...Wan-Bissaka is good, very good defensively but if we must compete with the likes of City and Liverpool, he needs to improve his attacking play...We shouldn't even have to debate this as it is obvious our full backs are average going forward bar Dalot. |

Well, I didn't see the game but I have got no regrets, no regrets absolutely...
Talking about our players, I always wanted Meunier ahead of Wan-Bissaka for the fact that he attacked more, you can't be parading an old fashioned right back in this age, watch PSG's 3rd goal vs Madrid and you'll see how limited our fullbacks are...
The midfield is completely dead and that's down to Ole, he was stupid to let Herrera and Fellaini go without replacing them. The decision to extend Mata's contract is another thing entirely.
Our attack is dead but they're giving new and improved contracts out like we are doing well...
Ole should be sacked before he drags us down to his level and Ed should leave the football side of things to someone else with footballing experience... |

Chelseafan1: Zidane should let the ball get to Hazard more. Rio also said so.
He needs to roam freely
I remembered arguing with someone dt Madrid is an aging squad and how PSG was better after Ronaldo left, the guy thought I was blabbing. Everyone can see now.
Neymar, Mbappe, Cavani etc did not even play o. I don't think they'd have played better with those guys...If Neymar, Mbappe and Cavani were fit, Madrid would've been more conservative and PSG would've lost that pressing from front that disorganized Madrid...I don't see Neymar putting in the shift like Di Maria did or Mbappe working as hard as Sarabia, only Cavani works just as hard enough and even he is slowing down. |

raumdeuter: This was what I posted in the Chelsea thread.
You mean he should make Hazard with 8 CL goals (4 of them from penalties) that has won nothing and proven nothing in his entire career the leader of players who have achieved so much?
Play should go through Hazard that has achieved nothing in his career?
When will Man Utd make Rashford or Ashley Young the leader of their team or Dangote should make all strategic decision go through Musa the gateman Most of those Madrid players have won it all and don't have the desire to give it another go. Benzema looked nonexistent yesterday, Bale tried in the first half but their general play was disjointed with individual mistakes everywhere. From the game yesterday, Hazard was stationed on the LW, he made no attempt to roam around, to get the ball and make things happen, I don't know if it's Zidane or if he isn't 100% fit but Hazard can do better. |

Zidane has to sort out the defense and in attack, he needs to make Hazard the leader. Hazard thrives when he sees most of the ball and when he has the freedom to roam, yesterday he seldom saw the ball and was stationed on the left wing. The play should go through Hazard more if Madrid want to see the best of him...Benzema was missing too, I didn't see the Benzema that drops deep to help in the build up play. |

Melvyn11: Facts only. We saw Lampard performance for England and how useless he was. No more awof penalties or goals to self-service upon. Man has the record for most shots at the world cup without scoring a single goal. What exactly is the difference between scoring for club or country? I am holding myself from dragging Iniesta into the argument because I really don't think like you lot. Iniesta was a fantastic midfielder but if we look at assist, he doesn't come close to Lampard, goals? Not even close... If Iniesta had Lampard's stat, you lot won't accept a comparison with Lampard. The thing is; you choose what you want to believe and stand by it, nobody loses on here because for most of you, you enter an argument only to win and not to learn. |

Melvyn11: The only thing Chelsea fans can boost about Lampard is his goal scoring ability.Lamps was a Glorified striker. A goal tally boosted by a ridiculous number of penalties covered the fact he was meh at his main job no wonder England was useless. when it comes to the traditional job of a midfielder he is competent at best and only his goals set him apart from others. The only thing people talk about when speaking of Lampard are his goals. Not one of other aspect of the game would be be better than players like Kdb or Fabregas. And why wouldn't he score more goals when he's played behind a lone striker and been given free reign most of his career? When he plays as a proper midfielder he flops. Lampard was a very good passer of the ball, he wasn't just about scoring goals, he made them too. |

Scholes played closer to goal than Schweinsteiger for most of his prime so common sense dictates he would get more goals. Okay. |
