HanksAnuku: How is hazard the better player this season? How?
Stats don't lie, but interpretation of stats is subjective. Guy I'm the one who said Hazard is in the same bracket at Ronaldo and Messi talent wise. My allegiance is clear
But if even Chelseafan1 can cuss hazard this season, then what I'm saying should come as no great surprise
Hazard has had a great season individually. But his stats have flattered to deceive.
Look at Aubameyang and Lacazette. Lacazette has only 13 league goals, but 9 of those goals were the ones that sealed the win for his team. I think Auba has 16 or 17, not sure but only 3 of those goals won the 3 points for his team.
This is what I'm talking about here. Not pumping Huddersfield and Cardiff then clapping your hands.
Salah is DIRECTLY responsible for 1/3 of all Liverpool's wins this season. That's not stats padding by scoring unimportant goals
See what happened when we last faced them. Hazard was playing rubbish, while Salah was shooting golazos. After the match Hazard went to be joking with Salah sef. I felt like slapping him. At this point of the season where goal difference might possibly decide who makes it to the UCL or not, every goal is of importance. Talking about the stats, it's only now that I'm seeing folks look deeper than what the stats suggest all because Hazard is involved, when Dayo and his minions were brandishing stats (goals + assist) last season, nobody asked to know how many of those goals actually won points. I assure you next season, the table will turn and you'll see guys turn this argument on its head. |

HanksAnuku: Since when have Liverpool had better players?
How many goals did Hazard score playing alongside Costa and Fabregas
How many goals did Hazard score playing with Mazacar or Lampard
How many goals and assists did Mane and Firmino have last season, when Salah was running riot? Compare to Willian, Pedro, and Morata and the numbers are very similar. Why did Hazard not match Salah last season then?
Bros rest abeg. This is not one of those arguments where you can claim the team is better as an excuse for Salah outperforming Hazard.
Salah gangan IS the team. What exactly is the argument about, Hazard is clearly the better player this season, stats don't lie. Talking about quality of players, when Hazard played alongside Fab and Costa, Chelsea won the league and he had a great season in the process, let Salah do same, let him win a trophy. |

odizeey: so mane and firmino are now the gods of soccer. Story. They should be giving world best based of overachievement too na. My post is quite clear, I only highlighted the quality Liverpool (You can add City) possesses compared to Chelsea and United just to let you see that Salah has the advantage playing with better players. Imagine Hazard playing alongside Mane and Firmino who on their own are formidable, don't you think he'll be doing much better? For a clue, look at VVD at Sutton, for all his excellent defending, Sutton were still shit but a year and a half after, at Liverpool and with better players, he is making the UCL team of the season and a strong contender for player of the season... |

Hazard has been better than Salah this season, it's pretty evident. Hazard plays with Pedro, Willian, Giroud, Higuain who have nothing on Mane and Firmino... For me, Hazard is overachieving with this Chelsea team just like Pogba is overachieving with Manchester United. |

I am happy you guys are beginning to treat Liverpool like the threat they are, one very important player in that Liverpool set up is Robertson, he is their version of Alba, if his overlapping runs is curtailed, then the chances of Liverpool and Mane in particular hurting you is 50% reduced. With the right set up, Barcelona will prevail. |

Eruditor: What is the correlation? The ATM that lost to Juventus is it the same one that got to 2 finals simply because it is the same Simeoné? I don't understand the point you are trying to make. Where was Poch's counter in the last meetings losing 3-1, 4-1 and 1-0? Simply say you are praying for City to go out. That is understandable. But as for all your conjecture above, ok. Please don't give excuses when Tottenham get bundled out. For e.g, don't say Kane was injured or that one got red card etc. Thanks. Let's discuss shall we? |

I will still keep Martial, he has it in him however, he is going through a bad patch. I don't know but our coaching crew should start working on the players individually rather than as a group, it's ridiculous that from here we have pointed out time without number that Martial doesn't attempt to make runs in behind as he hugs the wings often times making it easy for the average fullback to deal with him yet the coaches don't seem to be working on that aspect of his game. Not every player is like Ronaldo and Messi who look to improve on their performances game after game, for some of them, you just have sit with them everyday like babies to review their performance, give them that psychological boost etc. It's painful in reality when you consider how much they are paid but we need to manage them or cut our losses which I don't think the board will be happy doing especially for the young talents (Martial, Rashford, Lindelof etc)
As a team, there's a disconnect between our defense, midfield and attack, no synergy whatsoever and that's why we look drab going forward and very easy to play through. Often times you see Rashford pressing and Lingard and Martial are not in sync same thing with our midfield. It's also the case when you see Martial running at the opposition defense yet our full back will just stand waiting for him to perform some kind of magic. Movement is a key component of modern football, it is what makes Barcelona and City so dangerous, most of Messi goals where he appears to have dribbled 3-4 players are made possible because of the movement of his strike partners. |

Eruditor: Even if I am a fan, I try to be objective. Pep is not trying to win a game and leaves KDB and Sané on the bench till the 89th minute nor does he play Fernandinho and Gundogan with only Silva as the creative outlet. Or leaving Mahrez on till the 89th minute as well. He gambled that is my only conclusion. And this "virtual" away goal everyone keeps giving Spurs in their calculations. I don't know how it works. It is easier for City to win 5-0 than for Tottenham to lose 2-1 at the Etihad. If Tottenham were to qualify, trust me, you will see Angels on the pitch playing for them. Which Angel played for Atletico Madrid when they dumped Bayern out with Pep as the coach? Spurs are very good on the counter and if Kane doesn't recover in time for the return leg, that should see Lucas start and with his and Son's speed together with the passing ability of Erikson, City should have their bags packed. Poch knows how to set up his team to counter Pep. |
