Fine, if we must make progress on the field of play we need better players, players better than Herrera but what I don't get is why we opted to renew Young on 110k and Jones on 120k both terrible footballers compared to Herrera and let Herrera leave... I just hope we are not gonna let a potential backlash from the English press influence the decision of the board. Jones, Smalling, Rojo, Darmian, Young should all be shown the door...Tuanzebe, TFM, Lindelof, Dalot, Shaw, Bailly (Big question mark) and new additions should do... |

codedguy1: How much does DDG earn now? £200k?
Must the club agree to what he wants? If his contract is coming to an end then negotiations takes place. Let them add £15k, if him no like make e go.
But what do i know, Is it my Money! Hehehe he choose the very wrong season to start negotiating for a new deal, he should challenge himself to do better next season and then he can be duly rewarded with a pay rise. |

CapitalCee has raised some good points and from the look of things this season unless it's a one off, team play has proven more reliable than star players doing a job. We saw Liverpool operating as a unit destroy Barcelona who are reliant on Messi, we saw the exploits of Ajax and Spurs however, I'd be very happy if we can build a team with some of the good players we have, it is possible, look at Pogba in France... DDG at 250k isn't that bad as he'd be on a similar wage at City, Barca, Madrid or Bayern so I don't really have a problem with that but Rashford, Lingard and pretty much the other bums can get out of the club for all I care...The one player I'd miss for his passion is Herrera, I'd love him to stay on as a squad player... Martial and Lukaku are inconsistent but I wouldn't mind keeping them here for one more season as with Fred but Matic has to go or settle for a place on the bench. We need to go after players who are hungry for success and the money that comes with it and not just players who are cool with a fat paycheck. |

Anyway I believe we should be able to get 4-5 deadwood out of the team and anyone we are getting in must be we sure are going to fit into the starting 11, we don’t need any fringe players anymore as we have them in bulk.
If they finally renew Mata contract then I don’t think we are serious yet. Whatever chance you want to give Mata, give it to Greenwood or Garner. Thanks for the prayer brotherly, I agree with everything you said... |

Whilst I think it's too early to criticize Ole, I also understand where those who are against his appointment are coming from... When Ole was appointed on an interim basis, he got credits for our improved performances, the game at the Parc Des Prince easily comes to mind when Neville asked him how many years wanted, how much and where he'd like his statue built, whilst I understand it was down to the emotions that night, a lot of folks including myself jumped on the Ole bandwagon and soon after his job was made permanent, we began to falter again, this time, the blame was entirely heaped on the players and that's what a couple of guys here are not okay with, some of the blame has got to go to the coaching crew cos we stopped pressing high up the pitch, we began to run less etc. You can't tell me the coach crew didn't notice it and if they did, what was thier response? A fair share of the blame should be evenly distributed like some folks here have always maintained (afrodoc2 and Co) after all, it's one for all, all for one... I'd look closely to see how we go about business this summer especially as it has to do with clearing the dead woods and while I agree that we can get rid of them all in one window, at least we have to get rid of 2-3 of them, failure to do so will see me and many others here begin to question Ole. |

raumdeuter: The high point of Boatengs career were the world cup finals, the CL finals where he dominated totally. These are not based on votes but things we can see
Not this one running away from Messi in an important gae and begging for community to support him in defence Maybe you have not being watching VVD or rather objectivity is lost on you when VVD is up for discourse because pundits and majority of fans world over think VVD is on his way to being mentioned as one of the best if not the best CB in the world and currently the best defender in Liverpool. FYI, the pundits who rate VVD as the best defender in Liverpool also have been seeing TAA, Robertson and Matip who is only starting thanks to Joe Gomez injury earlier in the season. |

The one aspect I agree with engrelvis is the fact that Ole is too nice...See how Klopp handled Sturridge who at one point was the second most important forward in the Liverpool team after Suarez. He is even thinking of keeping Mata for another year when in all honesty, he should be thinking of shipping him out and getting a better replacement or giving chance to Gomes, Chong or Greenwood...I don't trust Ole to make those tough decisions. |

eph12: Are they being overworked during training? No way, if any players should complain of been overworked, it's the Liverpool players, those guys are made to twork their socks off in training by Klopp... Our players are simply victims of the stupidity of the board, how do you pay Lingard over 100k when in all honesty, he'd be earning 40-60k weekly if he was in Liverpool, that alone has made the boys feel they're much better than they actually are thus they don't put in a shift cos their wages already suggest to them that they're going well...Will Sanchez dare ask Barca board for 350k weekly? Hell no but here he is at Manchester United, earning so much yet offering little... If those guys are paid according to what they offer, all of them would've improved by now... |

raumdeuter: Your point was about yesterdays game. Not about what they did before and All season Robertson has been better than VVD only that he was not hyped.
Just the way sinizia on the Barca thread was crediting the tackle on Messi by Matip to VVD, That's the same way VVD has been leeching off other peoples glory
When it comes to one vs one he will run away or call for backup
vs City he caused a penalty vs PSG he caused a goal, vs Barcelona he was smart to run away.
Those are his big game credentials Lol you only see what you want to see, you didn't see his interceptions, clearances, blocks etc. Another folk will cherry pick moments in Boateng's career someday and claim he was a very bad defender...Objectivity should be the watch word. |

raumdeuter: WHat Robertson did in his 45mins was more than VVD did in his 90mins
In defence Allison, Trent and Matip who all played 90mins were better than VVD on the night
So out of 5 players in defence. One played 45mins and of the other 4 VVD was the worst by most rating
yet you are claiming here that he was the best defender of the night He is in the finals, if he wins it he'll likely be on the Balon D'or podium, he has had a great season and whether or not you admit it, he is currently the best CB in the game... |

Someone that cant even bench Neuer Seeing them rubbish Alison after the first leg was just shocking even when he wasn't at fault for any of the goals...Yesterday, Ter Stegen wasn't so lucky as Liverpool strikers were more clinical than in the first leg, if we want to follow the line of arguments most Barca fans used then Ter Stegen is useless... |

In this tie, he was the most useless liverpool defender.
Robertson Arnold Matip Allison did way better, even Fabinho wasn't running away or calling for backup See talk, you didn't see his interceptions and clearances abi? Robertson was substituted after the first half, if he played the entire 90mins, you'd be here saying Robertson did this and that (No disrespect to Robertson)...VVD is the only constant in that defense, he is even more important than Salah in Liverpool's set up. |

The scoreline didn't tell the story of the game yesterday, Liverpool surprised me to be honest, they should have scored at least 3 goals (Mane miss, Milner miss and Salah's miss, not forgetting the great saves Ter Stegen pulled off). If Liverpool had taken their chances, the conversation here would have been different... VVD didn't have his best of games, but I can't think of any CB who can stand Messi on his day, he was the difference between the both teams along with Klopp's shocking tactics. I expect the return leg at Anfield to be even more interesting with Firmino expected to start. |

IKON360: Let me try and compare Liverpool's team to ours, Allison v Ter Stegen: Allison Trent Arnold v Roberto: Matip v Lenglet: Lenglet Pique v Van Dijk: Pique Robertsen v Alba: Busquets v Fabinho: Busquets Keita/Wijnaldum v Rakitic: Rakitic Henderson v Arthur: Henderson Salah v Messi: D10S Dembele/Coutinho v Mane: Mane Suarez v Firmino: Suarez(sentiment). . Our defense has conceded less goals than Liverpool in UCL, but their defense has conceded far less goals in the league. Suarez has more goals than Firmino in the league, but Firmino has more in UCL and he is more effective in build up play than Suarez. Mane is better than Coutinho and Dembele but Coutinho has picked form(I am so happy to type that alongside Coutinho's name) as the season is winding up, which is an extremely good sign. Liverpool has the best full backs in EPL, Alba is doing well but Roberto and Semedo has divided us in this group unlike the certainty in the mind of Liverpool fans, sha Roberto will have the toughest winger to mark by Wednesday and I pray and know he will come out tops. Allison and Ter Stegen are quite good and their distributions are good, Allison's defense protect him so well and he delivers when called on, Ter Stegen is just narrowly edged out. Valverde v Klopp: Valverde, he has Messi, automatically he is better than Klopp, besides, Valverde has won the league, Klopp is still praying for any trophy... Bench: Semedo, Vidal and Dembele, well they got the job done from group stage till now, and they will do so on Wednesday. . So guys what do you all think? If you're comparing based on position each player occupies, then it's Matip vs Pique and Lenglet vs VVD... |

We need to clear the deadwoods come summer and make some signing whilst blooding in youngsters like Greenwood, Garner, Chong and the likes...Tuanzebe and TFM should return to replace Rojo and Jones on much less wages...Ww need a major overhaul and Ed needs to find a solution to DDG going forward and make a decision on Sanchez, hopefully, he's shown the door. |
