He is also inconsistent defensively. That and his injuries. Otherwise, he is stylistically what we need in a FB.

I am also a bit more optimistic about de Ligt after doing some research into his stats from last season. If he stays fit he is going to lift the bottom level of the team. A rotation of him, Yoro, Martinez is a step up from what we had before. As long as they are able to step up and close the donut in the midfield.

We still need an energetic CDM midfielder who can be a first phase passer.

We paid 50m for a squad player whose job is to be a sub for our iron man captain who never gets subbed off. This squad player was our marquee signing of the window. Then we gave him the No7 shirt.

If ETH comes back in another lifetime, he will still be owing punishment for that Mount deal. Not to talk of the Antony deal.

Most of us want them sold as well but these things take time. We already have 4 new players and very likely to buy a midfielder making 5. If we sell 3 wingers, we will need to replace with at least 2 new ones. You are asking for 7 new players in a window and about 6 or 7 players to leave as well. And you want about half of these deals to take place in 2 weeks.

It is not going to happen that way. We have to be logical. This new management team can't replace all the bad players in 1 window.
