The wife of the president has just aired her personal opinion from her point of view. Her opinion does not in any way effect the Nigeria project. How does her opinion affect governance? Methinks the president does not need to "know" the people working for him as long as the people are doing a good jobs for the good of Nigeria. Looking at it from this angle, the appointees would want to impress the president as they has a lot to loose if they don't perform.

MyPersonalOpinion. |
Regulatory Requirement Most small businesses do not see the need to take this serious until later when it gets too complicated to resolve. Firstly, every business is expected to register with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). Registration with CAC is the first, there are other regulatory registration(s) required depending on your kind of business. Find out about needed registration (s) in your chosen industry. Don't get too excited and carried away about profit. It gets really messy when you get big before realising this. One very important registration that every business MUST carry out is TAX registration. Whether the business is TAX exempt is not an excuse. Registration for tax cannot be overemphassized because liabilities starts to accrue from the first day of incorporating the business. For example, non compliance with VAT in a year is not less than 360k; that's just VAT in one year alone! Other taxes abound with their non compliance penalties. One can get free information online about the different registrations. I will be here to answer a few questions you may have in this regard. |

Finance This is one very important aspect of any business. Managing it is even more difficult than getting it. Let's assume you already have enough to start and run your business. There is really nothing like enough money. The need to manage money is actually because there's no enough money. so, how do you manage the little money you have? The starting point is to have a budget and stick to it. What is a budget? A budget shows how you get and spend money. A lot of people see budgeting as only spending. I repeat; it includes how to get money. This helps you to not only think of spending but how to get more money. One of the reasons small businesses fail is becuase they do not separate their business expenses from personal expenses. The budget is for your business and not a personal budget. You must maintain this discipline to succeed as a business. The initial money invest CAPITAL and must not be depleted. if anything, it should be increased. What most business owners do is to be on their business' payroll. That way, they are paid from the business' profits and not from capital. Once there's a clear cut between personal and business cost, the business(wo)man is really set for business. |
Business Plan This is supposed to be the second step every business person is expected to take after the idea stage. However, more often than not a lot of persons jump into businesses they haven't really done any reasonable plan/research about. Your Business Plan is the research you carry out about an idea that pops up in your head or a business you've seen others do well in. It contains the idea itself and everything that is needed to bring the idea to a real business. It covers the finances you'll need (and how to get them), the people you'll need to employ, the location to site the business, the customers (and suppliers or raw material ), the structure and whether the business is profitable. It's not enough to see that someone else is making lots of money from the same business. You will need to do your own busines plan. This is the beginning of Success/failure for business(wo)men. Take some time out to do a proper plan before you start at all. There are countless articles online for free on how to draft a good business plan. I will not help you write a business plan from scratch for free but I am willing to help you review the one you've written for FREE. |

"It is not in our DNA to allow someone to just die by road accident or the way it happened in respect of the incident. But beyond the fact that we lost one person while crossing the road as a result of evading arrest by KAI officials, I need to tell Lagosians that over 49 buses were actually destroyed and it is costing us like almost N139m to put those buses back on the road,” he said. @ the bolded, what about insurance? This sorts of situation is totally avoidable. |

Serious mistake, but this is totally understandable. You may be liable for the only excess amounts paid to exiting employees if they don't accept to refund the company. other excesses can be recouped this December, January and so on. This is the ideal thing to do. You have not committed any offence by "taking responsibility for your action". This is expected You may need to go diplomatic about this than the legal way as the legal way may cost you your job and future referencing from the company. Be may careful next time. |

betterabia:This is not totally correct sir, they might be required to pay some taxes in their home countries according to their laws, but first, they must pay their COMPLETE taxes here first. There are 3 conditions for a foreigner to be tax exempt in nigeria; 1. they do not stay more than 180 days in a year, 2. their contry has a double tax agreement with nigeria 3. their earnings are not charged to an entity in nigeria. note that all three conditions must be met. @ topic, this is the real fight against corruption, strengthening institutions and blocking all loopholes. kudos to Gej |
I last saw my ID Card on Saturday 25th October 2014. This is a 3 in 1 ID - My Office ID card, Building Pass and Office Pass, the process of replaccing this ID will not only cost money but time and energy...Police report, court affidavit plus some few naira. Running a quick search on nairaland on this topic, i realised that no thread has been created to address this issue. The essence of this thread is to report all cases of lost and found items thereby saving a lot of people the stress of going through the process of replacing those items. Any item at all can be reported here, from rings, cash, phones, laptops, handbags, and even a house .Thanks for you cooperation. Cheers! www.paulipopor..com |
2nri: Hello house, sorry I've been AWOL, its just that my mama taught me to remain silent if I've got nothing to say. For reasons best known to me, I opted for EY and I can say its a great place. On your enquiries, all I know is they haven't met their manpower needs, HR said as much during the induction. Grapevine also has it that some people will come in by October, this is unconfirmed so please don't quote me anywhere. If I learn of anything concrete, I'll let you know. All the same. Keep the hope alive, the best is yet to come.Congratulations 2nri, why did you choose ey and what unit are you in? |
Khumaloh: Read sumtin 2day in d dailies as regards legislature banning activities of tax consultants in d country.Counted it as illegal. Can dat be affecting d recruitment process of EY 2 cos I guess most of d trainess are often apportioned 2 tax consulting unit....#Justthinkingloud#There are 2 type of tax consulting. The first represent the government, they help the government to establish liability due from tax payers. Their commission is based on the amount they are able to retrieve from tax payers. (I think this is the one you're referring to) The second type represent the tax payer in tax audits and advice them on appropriate tax due and tax laws. Some companies have this unit in-house but others prefer to outsource this job to consultants - EY - this is very legal. EY does only the second type. The recruitment process is in batches. If you're still waiting - wait, hope and pray. You will receive good news soon. |
