I've always been a traveller, but since I've been travelling, I haven't encountered it this bad. It was a little after midday on Monday (3-11-2014), I just passed Shagam (Ogun state) on my way to Ikorodu (Lagos state), travelling on this semi-tarred "expressway" with very wide diameter potholes when the rain started. It rained for about about fifteen minutes, until we reached this pool in the middle of the road. Already, several vehicles' engines had hibernated because of the muddy water that took over the road, while others were able to manipulate their way through to the other side of the brown pool. We decided to also try our luck. Well... we were unlucky, as we were about to cross to the other side of the pool on the supposed inter-state "expressway", the engine just went off. While I was frustrated and vexed because I was getting late to my destination, I decided to take some shots and post here, hoping that relevant authorities will take actions. ![]()

Our constitution should be thoroughly looked into and redressed. The reason for recent misinterpretation of the constitution is because many of these laws were made without the consideration of exceptional cases. And I think this is the best time for any meaniful amendment, because of the sound opposition we have presently, who are there to agree and/or disagree on matters inorder to favour all parties. Many of our laws were made when the nation was still a one-party state, with little or no consideration for any opposition party that might be a threat to the ruling party. The only part of our constitution that we're making reference to today(section 68) on defection from a party to another, was made in '99, when we had just one national party. |
eye4eye:He has made some reasonable policies that I think are good for the economy. Like the high tarrif on importation of automobiles which has helped to boost locally assembled automobiles Industries, this 'll really help the economy. |

Some people just shy away from the truth by giving excuses for this guy's(Fayoshe) very unreasonable and uncultured acts, describing it as a way of get close to commoners. I doubt if any of us supporting this governor's visit to beer parlors would encourage our kids at home to visit beer parlor(even if we do visit ourselves), because we understand the harm it can cause them. Is beer parlor the best place to meet reasonable and productive commoners in the society? There are politicians who are also close to the people, but they don't go about it in an unreasonable way of visiting beer parlors, eating corn on the street, or riding okada. People like Ladoja and Aregbesola. Like or hate them, they are very reasonable street politicians and are supper close to their people. They visit people in their places of worship are town halls to give words of encouragement, they let them know the necessity of being a good and law abiding citizens. They follow traffic rules and don't blare sirens to clear the way in hold-ups. They organize weekly or monthly gathering with people from different parts of the state to hear them out, concerning issues bothering them and provide solutions to them. They join the people on the street for physical exercise and body fitness on weekends and many more... What word of encouragement or assistance can the governor have/render to drunkards in bear parlours? Enough said jare. Good luck to my people of Ekiti. |
Been wondering, sacking a coach because we lost two matches?! Very senseless move by the NFF. Keshi to me remains the best coach we've had in like a decade. Keshi should also be matured in handling those players. |
zimoni:I was told everywhere has been bought, except you're lucky to encounter anyone who wishes to resell. I hope so too @ Muyiwa Ige becoming governor of Osun, but that's not likely to happen in the next 12 years. Because of their irrelevant rotation of a thing. He's an Ijesha guy just like Aregbe. |
^^^ May be. Not familiar with the name and face. |
latestsunny:I don't think they are. But as for governor, forget it. |
SLIDEwaxie:Okay. |
Thank goodness, after many years of postponment by previous government. Even though many of us wey get land there don lose hope. Learnt the least price for a plot as at now is around #6m. Pictures from the flag off below. Arc. Muyiwa Ige, Commissioner for land and planning in brown T-shirt.
|
SLIDEwaxie:Are you justifying Tinubu's greediness because Orji is towing same line? |
nigerianvenom:You sure about that? I doubt that, so far he'll be contesting under PDP, it's a sure bet for him. Abia and PDP can't be separated, irrespective of the flagbearers profile. |
Because they reside in Lagos or what? |
Ikengawo:Lol Bro, 9ice and Tonitetula are not vying for any political position in Lagos state, but in Oyo and Kwara respectively. |
Ikengawo:Abolarin(9ice) from Oyo state and Tonitetula from Kwara are contesting under APC, not just Lagosians. |
He has the option to step down voluntarily, if he prefers to be a gentle man(which I doubt) or not. But NEVER a MUST, because no law is against his defection as a speaker. |
toludadon:Oyo state governor is certainly one of the few governors that doesn't delay civil servant's salaries and wages, unlike Aregbe, Mimiko and Ekiti's ex-governor Fayemi. Was it not recently he increased their salary which was even posted on this forum. Does it sound reasonable to anyone that he increased workers salary and delay the payment? |
latestsunny:Mimiko's case is different. The constitution was only specific about the national assembly members and not governors. As in this part: In Section 68 (1) (g), the 1999 mikeansy:Where was it stated in the constitution that it is unlawful for the speaker or senate president of the house to defect? Because there has never been such scenario until now doesn't make it unlawful. I think PDP's best shot is to challenge the speaker in court, using Section 68 (1) (g), the 1999 Constitution as a point. Which is not certain they'll win with the division in the Sokoto PDP chapter. It seems the speaker did a thorough assignment before taking this action. Who knows, the PDP might be smarter. They are all politicians anyway. ![]() |
asandigbo:Okay |
^^ Okay, noted. |
JiggamanGh:Nope. You said this: JiggamanGh:Different sentences with unique meanings. |
