EmeeNaka: There should be forcible relocation of people from Lagos. But that can't come without government effort to increase economic activities in other places. More seaports, more airport, fast speeding railway services. Born and raised in Lagos, have lived and worked in rural communities of Anambra, Enugu and Imo. They are so many untapped opportunities in the rural areas which does not require Federal Government intervention to translate because State and local governments can push them, if the will exists. |

Rossikki: That some Nigerians commit crimes abroad, which affects the country's reputation, doesn't mean you should have an inferiority complex, or it means the criminals have won, and you have lost.
I don't actually believe your story by the way. You don't need to believe my story and inferiority complex is alien to me as you have no idea what I do for a living! |

baralatie: so you did not travel with a Kenyan passport? Now does it make Ghana(we have left Kenya o) a. bigger GDP nation than Nigeria? Why should I travel with a Kenyan passport? What use is it that if for example our GDP is 10 times of the one of another Country but those in that Country have no idea of what it is to have and run a generator at home because they have no issue with power supply? They can easily access Forex and do not know what black market rate means? They don't know what it is to regularly experience fuel crises A higher GDP that does not reflect in a better and more comfortable life that those of lower GDP, of what use is it? I don't brag about GDP, who e epp? |

baralatie: so your judgement about Nigeria is based on Nigerian passport? Sadly, a passport summarizes a Country! Travelled with a Ghanian to another African country, at the Airport was told to step aside with other Nigerians for "further clearance" while the Ghanian was given an easy passage! |

baralatie: so you believe Nigeria is the 1st son Nigeria has the biggest population in Africa but not pulling in its weight in consideration of where it should be. How the Nigerian passport is perceived when placed alongside other African countries will give you the rating. |

edoyad: And the point is, IT SHOULD. Kenya has a GDP that isn't up to that of Lagos, not to mention Nigeria that has 8 or 9 times the GDP of Kenya. No matter the effort these other countries are making, our size and available resources demand that we lead them when it comes to infrastructure and funding of projects. But we are lagging behind in leadership because one is the first son who is not pulling his weight, that will not diminish the efforts and achievements of the younger ones! |

Rossikki: If you have only two cities in your country like Kenya, you can build multimillion dollar palaces as their respective train stations. But if you are in Nigeria, which has hundreds of cities, you cannot. You need to be more modest so the infrastructure spreads round. Kenya has only 2 cities? Bros, don't give info that can easily be disputed! On that 472km stretch alone has 2 major Terminus (Nairobi and Mombasa, where the journey begins and end on that route), 7 intermediate stations and 23 passing stations! |

owbabs: I think the major point the OP is making is the quality of the train stations - Just like airports. Compare those with Kubwa train station. Some just don't get it! Africa do not begin and end with Nigeria, others are making efforts. |

Rossikki: Because you are shallow-minded and immature, so you prefer to see flashy train stations than to have a 10,000km high speed rail network under construction. The first is glamorous, the second not so much, since there are no flashy pictures to ''show'.
The latter would benefit the country more than the former. That's what's important. It might take years longer to build than flashy train stations, but we can wait.
Liar. Tanzania Power Cuts:
http://www.theeastafrican.co.ke/news/Tanzania-slides-into-12-hour-power-cuts/2558-1189160-view-printVersion-y0s5l4/index.html Until Nigeria delivers that 10,000km high speed train and Nigerians travel through it, don't downplay other countries that have theirs running. For them, it will boost trade and tourism by delivery this phase 1 while construction is on going in phase 2. The Kenya's is also built to convey 200 containers daily out of their Sea port in Mombasa. |

It is $7 for the economic class and $30 for first class travelling with the train, doing the 472km from Nairobi to Mombasa. Will be doing that trip because over 100km of the journey runs through their National park, I get to record my own "NatGeo" as Zebras, Lions, Giraffes, Buffaloes etc would be a sure sight. Will also get a good view of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Dem try in finishing it within 2 and half years. |
