bashydemy: Exactly my brother, If the same measure is put in place in Nigeria, I swear nobody will patronize cotonou again.. That is the smart way to go for the FG. Any vehicle coming in from Cotonou should be registered in Benin Republic. Once a car is imported and cleared in Kenya, it enters the database. So if l want to know who owns a car, all l need to know is the plate number then go online pay about $5 and l will get the history of that car right from where it was bought from , arrival at the sea port, its clearance, who it was sold to etc. With this selling stolen vehicles is very difficult in Kenya because you can easily car search online. If the ID of the seller of the car and the documentation does not match what is on the database.... red flag. |
Travel › Re: Flight Tickets Jump By 40% As JET-A1 Now Sells For N240/l by Pavore9: 10:04am On Dec 16, 2016 |
vodutive: The major costs for an airline are internationally benchmarked, 1.) you pay for your planes, loans and parts in dollars, 2) jet a1 fuel is imported and deregulated so you pay the international price for fuel which is your major operational cost of an airline. So if you compare Nigerian domestic air fares to other climes you'd realise Nigerian domestic air fares are actually quite low compared to other climes. Instead of complaining that air fares are to expensive, I'd be worried and asking myself what areas of my safety are Nigerian Airlines cutting corners on to be able to deliver quite low fares. It also tells you that if Jet -A1 is N240 and diesel is N200, petrol is going to rise soon or we are back to scarcity or paying subsides if petrol remains at N145. As at 2014, when the Kenyan shillings was still 1ksh = N1.90, l was buying a one way domestic ticket from Nairobi to Mombasa which is about an hour flight for 3,000ksh (N5,700). We both know how much paid we paid for a similar route in Nigeria way back in 2014. |

The Kenyan government has mastered their art when it comes to car importation. All cars that are meant for their roads must come through their sea port as the vehicle is issued plate number while being cleared at the port. Going to Tanzania, which is like going to Cotonu to buy cars is cheaper but you are expected to register that car in Tanzania before driving it into Kenya and then the car would be treated as a foreign car and by the time you will be regularly paying some crazy charges for driving a Tanzanian registered car in Kenya, you will not try to be smart again! |

How can they crack down what is in their DNA? The core North has a fundamental problem that is continually producing these street beggars to the extent they export themselves to other parts of the country. No shame is attached to it but accepted as a way of life. Nothing will make me give my money to those lazy beings because as long as one is not mentally incapacitated he/she should be useful to him/herself rather they prefer to multiply like rodents as l can't forget one who was boldly on the roadside with his 2 wives and kids. He has a right to polygamy but not the obligation to work! |
