The major costs for an airline are internationally benchmarked, 1.) you pay for your planes, loans and parts in dollars, 2) jet a1 fuel is imported and deregulated so you pay the international price for fuel which is your major operational cost of an airline. So if you compare Nigerian domestic air fares to other climes you'd realise Nigerian domestic air fares are actually quite low compared to other climes. The Kenyan government has mastered their art when it comes to car importation. All cars that are meant for their roads must come through their sea port as the vehicle is issued plate number while being cleared at the port.

Going to Tanzania, which is like going to Cotonu to buy cars is cheaper but you are expected to register that car in Tanzania before driving it into Kenya and then the car would be treated as a foreign car and by the time you will be regularly paying some crazy charges for driving a Tanzanian registered car in Kenya, you will not try to be smart again!

Can't forget the shock when l went through the list of people who were attending a program l was part of. Saw names like Olubayo, Amadi, Okoro and l was like there are also other Nigerians here.....to my dismay they turned out to be 100% Kenyans!
