The Kenyan Prison system incorporates farming into their system. I visited the Kenyan Prisons Pavilion at the Nairobi International Trade Fair held last month and was wowed by the farm produce on display and produced by the inmates. There is a Kenyan l know who is very good in grafting, he can graft anything graftable! He learnt the skill during his 3 years jail term.

How many people purposely grow Oha now? Most of what we are eating now were met on ground! Growing up in Lagos, we had 3 Oha trees in our compound and had leaves for soup all year round as against the ones in the village that tend to be seasonal. We did regularly sell to Igbo market women who sell soup condiments in our neighbourhood rather than them depending only on the ones coming from the East.

So na EFCC dey collect the interest whey the N500m dey generate!

What is the purpose of being self sufficient in food production if the food produced is more expensive than the one it replaces?

The primary cause of hunger is not a lack of food but rather a lack of money. How will paying premium prices for food help the poor?

Non-affordable food is the big issue many Nigerians are facing, that is why l don't get carried away when figures are being reeled out that Nigeria is the biggest economy in Africa, bla,bla, bla! Those figures makes no sense if many Nigerians are hungry because what is in their pockets cannot afford the market price of foodstuffs.
